JMG12:thank you so much! i was thinking the same thing but it’s good to hear from someone else, she has been working in the school but we didn’t include the board resolution. thank you so much |
Haywhystrings:I know that’s what the VO thinks but i’m thinking of ways to convince them that isn’t the case. in this instance i don’t think AI would have the best solution |
Hi Family! it’s good to see the thread still waxing strong and helping so many get positive results. this thread was incredibly valuable to me in ‘22 when i was applying as a student and i’ve referred many friends here who have also revived their visas and are now in Canada so i’ve been a silent member for years lol. I now have a question i feel like the gurus here would have the best answers to. a friend applied with what was seemingly an airtight application but received a rejection this morning and she is distraught. i guess she overproved financial backing in canada, her brother is a citizen, paid her fees in full, opened a GIC with living expenses and she would be staying with him during her studies but her reason for rejection is that her ties to canada are too strong and they’re not convinced she would be returning home after her studies. so now my question is, how can she prove stronger ties to nigeria? the rest of the family is in nigeria and her original application stated she would be returning to take over their parents school so i’m wondering how else can she prove this? she provided documents like CAC and the like, would it help to have the parents will the school to her? we are totally confused on next steps and would appreciate any insights thank you all so much |
LANDING GIST Good Afternoon my people. I took the 8:05 am flight from Abuja to London, then London to Toronto using British Airways. I arrived at the airport by 6 am, they didn't let my family in as usual so I proceeded to the check in desk on my own. customs looked through my box of food and cleared me cos I had only dried food. At very step I was asked 'anything for us' but I only dropped in some places. One of my bags was overweight so I had to move things around before I was checked in. I chatted with the check in guys so they let my 23.6kg box fly without paying anything extra. Here they asked for arrive can and passport and I was given my boarding pass. I went back outside to cry and take pictures with my family before going back inside. I went to customs and immigration after filing out the yellow card and they asked how much I'm carrying, I had less than 10k so no issues here. After getting cleared then I went to my boarding gate. We took off at exactly 8;05 am and an hour into the flight they gave us breakfast. It was nice, sausage, eggs, bacon, croissant and all. Then they also gave a sandwich, Juice and coffee later. The plane was very very very cold!! please carry a thick jacket and wear sneakers with thick socks and headworker if you get cold easily. We landed in Heathrow at exactly 2:05 pm and had a 2 hour layover, before boarding here they asked for only passport and boarding pass. and we took off for the 7 hour flight to Toronto. They also served us two sets of snacks (pretzels and juice, then chicken sandwich and coffee) and dinner of mashed potatoes and chicken. We landed by 12;37 Nigerian time but it was 7;37 pm here. Everywhere was bright and shining like 4pm lol. I headed to arrivals, filled the declaration form and declared the foodstuff I was carrying before going to the customs desk. A handsome asian guy attended to me and asked what kind of agricultural produce I had, I told him spices and flour and he cleared me to head to Immigration. At this point my heart was beating but I just kept calm, An imposing slavic guy attended to me and asked me for my acceptance letter and proof of tuition payment. He asked where I will be staying and how long my program is then he printed my study permit and coop work permit, stamped my passport and I was off. Our baggage was unloaded already so I just located my boxes, put them on a trolley and went outside to order an uber. The weather was a bit warm since its spring, it only felt like low AC but I kept my jacket on. Headed to my airbnb and called my people. I hope everyone gets to experience this and I am eternally grateful to this platform for giving me all the information I need to see my dream come true. To those waiting for PPR, it gets depressing and you almost want to give up but no matter how long it takes I believe its amazingly worth it.

stanmorry:I’m not sure traditional marriage is recognized but you can attach pictures from the wedding. |
Please has anyone traveled recently with British Airways? What documents did they ask for at the airport and POE? |
Belle110:Nice! Did they send a message or it just dropped? |
buckyfof:If you haven’t sent yet and you’re in a hurry I’d say send to Abuja. I’m in Abuja and I sent on Wednesday, it’s been stamped but I haven’t gotten it back yet. |
Belle110:Congrats! Have you gotten your LOI? |

The transfer has to come from an account with your name. I had to open a dom account and get dollars from the black market. |

Ayatunde:I think pictures from when you wear young, with your family and maybe social media posts would help. You can also add messages between both of you. |
Johnwisdom1032:You can send me an email |
Johnwisdom1032:Hi, I also run Airbnb so I put my profile page, reviews and payment pages. I don’t pay taxes either so I didn’t put any tax information. I also added my profile from other platforms and mentioned that sometimes guests pay directly into my account and from my notes IRCC had no issue with it |
chuksinfotech:Probably means BonaFide Student. |
Calmdancer21:You can book a one way ticket |
Anon123:I’m not a guru but I’ll attempt to explain as I work in Admin/management so I’ll give a few reasons a company would want to sponsor their staff. 1. Internal Memo commending said employees performance/diligence 2. Track record of employees work improving the status/performance of the company. 3. Starting up a new division/department where the employee has experience. 4. Company’s commitment to improving their staff career development. |
Nkem292:They only accept documents in English or French. Tell your sponsor to ask the bank if they can give them a copy translated to either of these languages. |
You don’t have to work, it’s just a way to fill your time and have income to take care of yourself. Papapa1234: |
pixzy:Congratulations |
Hello! Please does anyone know if a Co-op term counts as a term of study when you are applying for a PGWP? |
It’s probably a courier service they partner with. DHL is usually very professional so I don’t think you need to be worried. feistymikey: |
Kam3:Congratulations Someone shared the steps for submission a few pages back. You can backtrack and find it |
Learner247:It’ll be updated soon. Maybe if it isn’t done by Friday you can send them a reminder email. |
