Jenniangel: Good evening all, I'm new to this thread and the Australian visa stuff. I tried reading through the thread but the messages are too much to keep up with.
I'm 30 yrs old, married with 3 kids, studied Economics and Statistics and have 3 years working experience in that field, my ielts scores goes thus; L 9, W 6.5, R 8.5 & S 7.5
Please am I good to go? Hello, when did you take your IELTS? Ifit's not up to 2 weeks, quickly apply for remarking for your writing. You should get 7. You'll need atleast 7 in each to have a good point with Australia. |

tunlex01: You can go ahead when it's 8 years because your case is a peculiar own. ROI only leads to a pre-invite. So if they want to consider it, they would send you an invite to now apply for a nomination. Oh, great! Thank you so much, this clarifies alot. I'll edit my profile to reflect the actual work start date on my EOI then apply for SA ROI after 14th July. Once again, thanks alot. |

Knight1: Please don't apply if you don't have the qualifications BASED ON THEIR OWN ASSESSMENT. It is better to apply with their assessment, be invited based on that and then the CO decides that your previous experience is relevant than for you to apply and claim higher number of years than you've been deemed and then they shut you down. That's my advice tho Thanks for your response. I wasn't going to apply though as I currently do that have up to 8 years work experience. Just needed to get some clarifications with the points i raised. |

I'll like to find out. I started working in July of 2014, by this year July that puts me at 8years work experience. Unfortunately VETASSESS took out a year and started counting from July of 2015.
Can I apply by July this year when I'll have hit the 8years work experience requirement or I have to wait for next year as VETASSESS insist I started in 2015.
Also is there a near possibility of this work experience requirement been reviewed soon to accommodate others?

South Australia finally opens up to alot of occupations, mine inclusive. They require atleast 8years work experience, from my skill assessment, VETASSESS put me at 6years work experience.

Allylic: Thank you so much for the detailed explanation.
I am currently going through the link you sent and I will let you know if I have any questions and concerns.
PS. Please any idea of how long the process takes if she starts now.I mean from assessment to nomination to visa.
Thank you once again.
Best, Allylicc Skill assessment takes roughly 3 months (from my experience with vetassess). For the other part, I am not too sure cos I am currently at the stage were I submitted EOI and waiting on state nominations to commence fully so I can apply (hopefully that should start in July). From research tho, visa processing takes about 18months. My advice, if she's serious, she should write her ielts now and also start the skill assessment so she can be ready when states and regional nominations start in July. |

ACT is now open for offshore nomination for both 190 and 491 visas. Occupation has to be on the ACT critical skill list. Hopefully more states will follow. |

Allylic: Hello Everyone,
Good day,
Please, I need the input of bosses on this trend.
So I have a friend that studied Medical laboratory science and has been practicing as a medical lab scientist for atheist six years now.She is single and doesn't have plans to marry anytime soon.
Please how reliable is the Australian pR stuff and to start the process,do you think she should do the skill assessment first or submit an EOI first
2) which state or territory do sponsor visas for medical lab scientist.
Thank you so much
Best, Allylicc Hi, good morning. First step is for her to check states available to sponsor the occupation. Next up is to calculate her points using the calculator to know if she has a good score. She even has a better chance been single, that's an added 10points. Lastly, you can't submit an EOI without a valid skilled assessment. So skill assessment has to come first. Link for point calculator: https://immi.homeaffairs.gov.au/help-support/tools/points-calculatorLink to check sponsorship availability: https/www.anzscosearch.com/search Click on the link then type the occupation and search. Once it opens, click on state/territory to see the sponsorship options available. |

I tried checking my eligibility but it directing for payment. Pls i really need someone who can hold my hand... Accountancy is extremely competitive. You'll need a very high score to be at the top. Kindly share your profile, let's see your score. |

Saynoomore: I'm a newbie to this stuff, I've however visited the website and can see that there are classifications, namely: 1. Business Innovation and Investment (188) 2. Skilled Independent visa (189) 3. SKilled Nominated Visa (190) 4. Skilled Regional (489) 5. SKilled Work Regional (491)
I didn't bother checking the first one, because the name suggests it's for investors - the money bags! Further reading on google suggests 189 is extremely competitive and there hasn't been ITAs lately.
Anyway, a cursory look at the scoring criteria suggests my cumulative score for 189/ 489 is 85, and for 491 it's also 85.
Please which one is advisable to go for? and what are my chances? I would be happy to know before I commit scarce means to VETASSESS! I'm very optimistic about skating through VETASSESS. You can't get same score in 189 and 491. 189 is a direct skill visa from the government of Australia and is extremely competitive. Focus on 190 and 491 visa subclass, both are states/regional Australia nominations. For 190, you get an additional 5 points to whatever your score is on the 189 visa. For 491, you get an additional 15points to whatever your score is on the 189 visa. With a score of 85 on the 189, means you'll be having 90 for 190 and 105 for 491. Kindly share a breakdown of your profile(age, number of years of experience, ielts score, etc) which you used to calculate the point, let's advice further. |

Macheteros1: How much did you pay for this please? I’m trying to cost how much this Australia movement would take. It's 927Australian Dollars. I found the mode of payment personally difficult, didn't have anyone in Australia to make the payment so I resorted to paying via my friend's credit card in UK. That way I spent more as I had to pay in Pounds, in Naira I spent 350,000. There are some other recommendations here that you can use to make payment cheaper directly, wish I had explored those myself. After paying for assessment, know that you still have to pay your school to send your transcript and certificate to them. Recently they started accepting a direct email from the school so a hard copy doesn't need to be sent all the way to Australia, this should save some cost. |

Hello, all. My family composition is myself, wife and daughter. In filling out my EOI, this section requires the number of family that will be coming along principal applicant. My confusion is, do i add my partner in counting (making it two) or just an extra family member (in this case, my daughter). I'll really appreciate a feedback from the gurus here. Thanks.
