An American tourist in Germany was beaten up by a passerby after he began giving The Nazi Salute outside a cafe in Dresden, police said on Sunday.
The incident occurred about 8:18 am Saturday as the man left a cafe called Europe in the Neostadat district of Dresden, police said in a statement.
The district is known to be a liberal part of the town and popular meeting spot for Students.
The tourist was identified only as a 41-year-old American man who was “severely drunk,” according to police. He suffered minor injuries, while the stranger who assailed him fled the scene, police said.
Police said the U.S. national is under investigation for violating German laws prohibiting Nazi symbols and that they are still seeking the passer-by for causing personal injury, according to the Associated Press.
The Nazi salute — the right arm straight and angled slightly up, palm down — was used as a greeting and a way of expressing devotion to Adolf Hitler under the Third Reich. Germany outlawed the salute after World War II, along with Holocaust denial and other symbols and signals associated with the Nazis. A conviction can carry a prison sentence of up to three years, although courts often impose fines instead.
The Dresden incident occurred just a week after two Chinese tourists were detained for giving Nazi salutes outside Berlin's Reichstag, once home to the Imperial Diet. The two tourists were fined nearly $600 each but were permitted to leave the country with their tour group, police said. Similarly, a 30-year-old Canadian tourist was detained in 2011 after being photographed giving the Nazi salute outside the Reichstag. He, too, got off with a fine.
Germany is not the only European country to ban the salute. Earlier this month, Switzerland’s Supreme Court upheld the conviction of a man who appeared in 2013 photos making the Nazi salute outside a Geneva synagogue.
In Dresden, memories of World War II and Nazi practices have provoked clashes and divisions for decades.

Leader of the Indigenous people of Biafra,(IPOB) Nnamdi Kanu, has said the Speaker of the House of Assembly will take over on the interim in Anambra State if the coming election fails to hold
.
IPOB leader was in Onitsha, Anambra state yesterday to further educate members of his group on the need to boycott the forthcoming November 7 governorship election.

According to him, the emancipation and redemption of the “people of Biafra” would come when they boycott the November 18th governorship election in Anambra state.

He said, “We brought the gospel of the restoration of the kingdom of Heaven, which is Biafra and the emancipation and redemption of our people, which comes by the boycott of November 18 governorship election.

“The boycott will not attract any vacuum or state of emergency because the constitution provides for replacement of the governor in case of death, vacation or whatever circumstance that may have led to not producing the governor or deputy.

“In other words, the constitution provides that the speaker of the House of Assembly will take over government on the interim basis and that is going to happen in Anambra State.

“The people of Anambra must boycott the governorship election and further elections, for Biafra to come, until we get the date for a referendum.”

A passenger coach crashed into the wall of an expressway tunnel in China's northwest, killing at least 36 people and injuring 13 others, official media reported on Friday.
The injured were sent to the hospital and rescue efforts were ongoing.
The accident occurred in Shaanxi province late on Thursday as the coach was on its way along the Xi'an-Hanzhong expressway to Luoyang, a city in central China, from Chengdu, the capital of the southwestern province of Sichuan, the Xinhua News Agency reported, citing the provincial police bureau.
More details were not immediately available, and it wasn't clear if the coach was the only vehicle involved.
Minister of Public Security Guo Shengkun ordered a swift investigation into the accident, according to state broadcaster China Central Television.
Road accidents common

Highway accidents are common in China because of high speeds, aggressive driving and a failure to leave adequate braking distance.
China does not release statistics on the total number of accidents each year, but the World Health Organization estimated in 2013 that around 250,000 people were killed on Chinese roads that year.
Beijing has vowed to clamp down on dangerous driving, but the rapid growth in car ownership and relatively lax checks on driving ability have made it difficult to curb the number of accidents, especially on rural roads.
Last month, 11 people died and nine were injured when a bus carrying 19 people collided with a lorry on a national highway in northern Hebei province.
Ten people were killed and 38 injured in March when a bus collided with a cement truck in the southwestern province of Yunnan.
At least 18 people were killed when a minibus plunged into a lake in the central city of Wuhan in December.
Last November, a pile-up on an expressway in the northern province of Shanxi killed 17 people and damaged 56 vehicles.

MEXICO CITY (Reuters) – A fight in the Mexican prison of Reynosa has left at least nine inmates dead and 11 injured in the country’s latest outbreak of violence, the government of Tamaulipas border state said in a statement on Thursday. Regional police officers took control of the facility and injured inmates were taken to hospital, according to the statement. An increase in violent crime has turned 2017 into one of the bloodiest years in Mexico’s modern history. At least four inmates died in July after their throats were cut in a riot at a jail in the southwestern city of Acapulco.

The Nigeria popular entertainer and activist CHARLES OPUTA, know as CHARLEY BOY, has said that he was brutalized during the protest organized on Tuesday at the unity foundation in Abuja by a coalition of civil society organisation acting under the aegis of concerned Nigerians.
Charles in a telephone interview with our correspondent, said that one of the anti riot policeman, who attacked the protesters with tear-gas and water Cannons, hit him in the eye with butt of his rifle.
He said, '' we were not even up to 10 people that set out for unity foundation. When we got there, we met close to 200 policemen. Initially they tried to stop us from going further but we explained to them that ours would be a peaceful demonstration. I gave them assurance that we are not going to anywhere else and the protest would not be hijacked by hoodlums.

“Before we knew it, they started with the water cannon. Then they tear-gassed us and set their dogs against us. Worried, I went to one of the policemen who was standing near me and asked him why they resorted to such action. Instead of responding to me, he suddenly raised the butt of his gun and hit me in the eye.”
Oputa said he was immediately rushed to a clinic for treatment. But he expressed concern over the health of another victim, a TV journalist, said to be severely beaten up by the police.
“I saw them beating up that man and smashing his camera. I hope they have not killed him,” he said.

She said Telemu, I can't believe he will dump me like that after many sex with him and he is the type that will bang someone anyhow he wants. Then I know it is time to discuss about sex with her but I must be mindful of my words too so as not to spoil everything.
Like you know that women generally love sweet words, I started with that to make her feel comfortable with me. After that, I said I cant blame you for having sex with him because the deed has already been done. You had the sex with him just because you love and trust him and you don't want to lose him. She said that's why I like you among my male friends, you understand ladies so much and why they do some things. With that her statement, I know I have entered her already and it is time to fire.
My first question was how many times did you have sex with him ? She cant remember which means it is many.
Then my next question was where did the first sex happened ? She said his house. I knew we are getting somewhere.
Then my third and the most important question was did you collect money after the act ? She said yes but it was just transport money. Then I asked how much, she said #1000. Then I said from your place to his place is just #50 and to and fro will be #100 like that but the guy gave you #1000. She said he told her to use the money for Tfare ni. Then I told her the truth that the guy didn't give you Tfare but rather the money for the work you did. She was surprised.
My questions didn't end there. I asked again that did he normally give you money after each sex and do you normally collect it ? She said yes to both. A lot of ladies are guilty of this act too. I know no matter what, pre-marital sex cant be erased totally. But have you wonder why some people will engage in pre-marital sex but still end up marrying each other with their love still strong and why some will engage in the same act but will cut short the life span of their love. A lot of reasons are responsible for this and part of it is what you do as a lady before and after the sex and the condition that surrounds the sex.
Are you the type that demand for something from your guy either money or gift before the sex or you are the type that accept the money he do give you after the sex. If you are doing any of these, the guy will see you as a prostitute and dump you when he is through with you.
Even if at all you gonna collect any money from him, don't let it be immediately after the sex or that same day or even a week after the sex. If he offers the money, smile and tell him do you think I did this because of money. Even he says it's for your transport, let him know you come with your Tfare. Tell him you did it because you love him and you miss him too. No guy will hear that and still see you as a prostitute or plans to dump you, his conscience will never let him rest.
I don't know if I'm talking to someone here.
Now you know how to handle a situation like this and if you've already started it, their is still time for you to change and also change his mentality about you.
I still have a lot of things to talk about on this kind of sex but let me stop here but I will definitely continue next time.
Even though the best is to avoid pre-marital sex but if you are the type that cant abstain for long as a lady, stop using the act as a financial gain if you still want your man to respect and adore you.

Governor Willie Obiano has vowed not to allow the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB repeat the mistake made by the Movement for the Actualisation of the Sovereign State of Biafra, MASSOB who dissuaded the people from coming out during the last national census.
Obiano who spoke during his visit to an erosion site at Odume Layout, Obosi in Idemili North Local Government Area of the state, while responding to the statement by the IPOB leader, Nnamdi Kanu that there would be no election in the state in particular and in Southeast zone which he described as Biafra land, said:
“there is going to be an election on that day. Whoever says there will be no election is not carrying the interest of the people at heart”.
According to Obiano: “we will not repeat what happened during the national census period in the years back here in the state when those who called themselves MASSOB disrupted the exercise in Igbo land and the consequences of that disruption led to rating our population figure very low which is what we are still suffering today because we were counted less than what we are.”
The governor appealed to the electorate to vote for him on November 18, during the state gubernatorial election in the state for sustaining the good governance he inherited.
