Travel / Re: Why Do Nigerians Become Less Religious When They Travel Abroad? by Nicerazor(m): 7:31pm On Dec 28, 2022
If you preach publicly in UK you can be arrested.
At times I wonder that same people who brought Christianity to us have few churches, unlike Nigeria where 5 churches can be in one street.
Some of the things we fast and pray for back home are normal things you’re entitled to.
The day I first attend a church service in England they don’t request for tithe or offering i come de surprise o.
Churches here only sing praises to God and preach more than they pray. Nothing like die by fire kiss.
Churches support you instead of taking from you unlike our pastors back home.
A cleaner and a bank manager are on the same level here, as bank manager de park his car to resume work Naso cleaner de park his own car. No Oga or boy boy here.
I remembered a time I worked at Liverpool stadium as a match day safety steward I met a Naija man working as a cleaner in the stadium, I recognized him as Naija immediately and we got talking. Man own a house in Spain which he rented out and get paid monthly. God go help Naija one day.

Business / Re: Old Currencies To Expire 31/01/2023 - Emefiele (Video) by Nicerazor(m): 11:38am On Dec 20, 2022
Thanks for your contribution, like I said earlier Nigeria needs economic reformed policies which we move us from consumers and largely dependent on imports to a producing nation. It hurts me when I see how a working system works here in England despite the fact that they are not rich in minerals like Nigeria that is endowed with natural wealth but because we don’t have visionary leaders we are behind the scheme of things. I know one day we will take back our country.
airsaylongcome:

So I am not mixing what you said on this thread with Emefiele's arrest. I saw your post on Emefiele's arrest, explored your profile and saw your description as a PI. Interest was aroused and I decided to read through your previous posts until I came across this one were your suggested solution to stimulate the economy is to cap the currency denomination. It kind of suggested that you probably do not understand how economics work (and do not take that as an insult in anyway).

When I was younger many many years ago, the highest denomination was 20 Naira. I remember seeing 200 Naira in 20 Naira notes under my mum's bed and I ran away in fear. But what was different between Nigeria them and Nigeria now? Production. We produced a large number of what we used. Tires, cares, cables, leather shoes, talcum powder. Many many things we used, we manufactured locally. Even petrol was refined in this country. And what happened? Successive governments failed to maintain the infrastructure that drove the manufacturing sector. Today we import everything down to toothpaste and matches. And do not produce anything. The crude oil we export is not even produced by Nigerians. No matter how much cap you place on the denomination, as long as we are predominantly a consumer country that makes nothing, our currency will always have minimal value. Even the facial value of a currency has no bearing on whether the economy of that country is doing well or not. Japan has a 10,000 yen note. 10 times larger than our largest currency. But Japan produces so damn much (goods and services) that it can afford to "devalue" it's currency and still be a super power economy. The way to turn around the economy is for the government to provide roads, electricity, pipe borne water and all other necessary infrastructure such that Nigerians can start producing again. Not by artificially capping the maximum value of the currency note available. That will only drive inflation and further weaken the Naira as people will be carrying money in wheel barrows to buy goods that will only fit a small paper bag.

Aside from capping Nigerian currency at lower denominations what monetary/economic policy will make their currency gain value overnight? Mind you Nigeria is still far behind compared to Uk. Yes, the highest denomination in Uk currently is £20, it will interest you to know that with £5 you will cook cook a nice meal unlike Africa where a country like Zimbabwe once printed 1 million Zimbabwean dollar on a single denomination, this crippled their economy and they had to abandon it. What I said in the previous thread is unrelated to what I said about Emefiele’s arrest. His alleged arrest is unconnected to naira redesign or whatsoever like most people think, if the DSS don’t have anything against him why arresting someone who is even loyal to the president? Yes, Emefiele goofed as a sitting CBN governor who is supposed to be neutral but involved in politics either he was being pushed or he pushed himself, how much does a CBN governor earns to be able to afford APC presidential form of 100m? And you think DSS won’t show interest in him? In a sane society he would have been arrested long ago but in Nigeria anything goes.
airsaylongcome:

I've come here from the Emefiele arrest thread because you made some interesting points. But I am stunned to my bones to read what you have typed above. You honestly think the UK held the value of her currency by capping the highest denomination of their currency? And you think Nigeria can strengthen her currency by capping the highest currency at 100 Naira?
Politics / Re: Court Stops DSS From Arresting Emefiele by Nicerazor(m): 12:10am On Dec 20, 2022
Not everything is political. Where were you when he was partisan and even eyed the presidential seat while he is a serving CBN governor. He needs to answer questions. Let the Security Services do their job.
noble71:
shocked
I knew that the new naira redesign by Emiefele would be fought by high ranking politicians cus they already have campaign funds in the old Naira.

- you still go knack another rich dude wey give you job.
Well you can divorce all you want but no go carry his kids jakpa without his knowledge, cuz if he later get to know he can take it up and this is a serious issue that’s kidnapping, deceit and forgery ( if you use oluwole consent letter).
Don’t even try to come to Uk as a single mother, daycare for one child here is £4 per hour imagine you have 2 kids that’s £8 per hour on 2 kids and your salary is £10 per hour.
Don’t forget you can only work 20 hours weekly so imagine you’re earning £800 monthly.
How will you pay for daycare, rent and bills, foods, school fees balance?
And don’t forget for a family of 3 you will spend btw 10-13m, house rent na monthly here o.

This is one of the dumbest comments I have read on NL so far, is this the best you can do? someone has been accused of siphoning 600 million naira monthly from racketeering and you are sounding as if it’s normal by writing a counter narrative. Money meant for the Nigerian youths, me and you. If Nigeria was a sane clime the Nigerian correctional homes won’t be enough to contain those who will be sent to prison. What I have benefited in a saner clime these past few months I have never benefited from Nigeria all my life, doesn’t that hit a raw nerve? The major reason Nigeria is still stagnant is because of people like you who support corruption.
What has Peter Obi’s allegation ( even if it’s true) got to do with D’banj’s case? Make una de try get sense once once Abeg.
femisplash:
In Nigeria, being famous and popular could only open doors to you but being powerful would make people bow to you. Dbanj is famous but ain't powerful, so could easily be arrested that he is found wanting diverting 600 million monthly into his pocket, a recurring phenomenon that's most common among the powerful while they get away with it at a snap of the fingers. Unfortunately, there's no level playing field of justice, if there was, a Dbanj would not be in detention while s certain Peter Obi would be freed for diverting 250million monthly in state's funds to his Lagos office when his official car that ferried the money was grounded by the police... Obi got away with the crime.
Peter Obi also approached the court to stop the EndSars tribunal from summoning him to appear before it and give an account of his role in the killings of Anambra youths that were killed under his Administration. Unfortunately, same culprit is being championed by some gullible youths who are being deceived on social media. Obi got away with the crime.
In essence, the crime of Dbanj is that while he's popular and famous, he isn't powerful, otherwise he would have been kissing his wife every other nights as Peter Obi.

This is the phenomenon the west is currently faced with. People who are legally living in the country, schooled and working.
The 2005 London terrorist attack is an example, the attack was carried out by a self radicalized lone wolf.

I sympathize with the couple but I won’t rule out their failure as a parent to safeguard the life of the child. It’s a breach of duty of care and parental negligence where in a saber clime they will be arrested. Same thing happened to D’banj’s son few years ago.
I saw few days ago when Davido was taking him on swimming lesson, is he a certified swimming instructor? Why taking a 3 yr old on swimming? It’s too early at least 5 years of age is better. When you have all the money but failed to work on your security then of what use?
The swimming is opened with no barricade and an innocent toddler walked into his death without anyone noticing. So pathetic. RIP little angle, your parents failed you.

Politics / Re: Terror Alert: Canada, UK, Australia, Ireland Issue Security Advisory To Citizens by Nicerazor(m): 5:50am On Oct 27, 2022
Inasmuch as I agreed with the travel advisory I think it needs to be reviewed. I can see references to comments about going to bar beach in Victoria Island, mandatory wearing of helmets by okada riders etc. This shows it’s a recycled advisory but that’s not to say precautionary measures should not be taken as in every rumors there is an element of truth and should be handled with all seriousness.
There are mass shootings in the US which are usually lone wolf terrorist attacks but the media and the governments will paint it like it’s a boy who got inspiration from video games but this might be a terrorist who is acting alone on behalf of a group but without the encouragement of a group but then nobody gives a travel advisory against the US not to visit McDonald’s or Starbucks.
Nigeria security forces especially the DSS needs to step its intelligence gathering, what a shame? Look at the just Police carrying out counterterrorism operation drills like do you have to wait for security advisory from foreign governments before you are battle ready? This shows are security forces are not proactive but always reacting.
I hope the security forces will take charge of the situation to avert this looming terror attack. Nigeria is gradually snowballing into a failed state.

If I were to be CBN governor i will strengthen the naira by scrapping major denominations. Highest denomination will be #100 naira. This will give relevance to lower denominations like the coins too. In Uk for instance the highest denomination is £20. There £20, £10, £5 notes, £1 50p, 20p, 10 pence. The other day I bought a bunch of fresh and big banana for 75p. This has really helped the Uk to make their currencies valuable. With £5 I can buy a lot of things from the store.
What can 5 naira buy today in Naija?
