Our law enforcement officers would do better if they arrest the criminals or disable them in a confrontation without necessarily seeking to oust their lives.

Extrajudicial killing seem very much on the rise.

The officers life is sacrosanct, and often there is threat to their lives, but the threat should be managed reasonably. An apprehended suspect don’t have to be killed, a kidnapper wounded and in your care, don’t have to be shot in the head.

Responsibility must be demanded, should they exercise the irreversible force of taking a life, even a kidnapper still has right to life.

An officer can kill the person that has granted him a loan, and tag such person a kidnapper. Or even a young fellow whose only crime is living better and claim he is a cultist.

Bought a round trip flight ticket Lagos- Abuja for 46k 2 months ago.
So this week Tuesday my flight was 6:30am, I got to airport by 6:10am. I missed my flight had to pay 58k for another ticket via another airline slated for 1pm same day.

I’m supposed to return with same ticket by 2:30pm yesterday Friday, lo and behold the airline rescheduled for 10:45am, by the time I got the notification it was 9am in the morning. I tried checking in online but checking already closed. Omo x10000000000.
I missed both trips with the same ticket.
I immediately searched for another flight back to Lagos. Luckily for me I saw one for 45k for 6pm this evening and booked. The flight got delayed to 6:30pm now.
Na airport Now I must go home today.
I spent 103k for flight round trip cuz i missed flight of 48k round trip.
Coupled with 10k hotel extra night I stayed back.

I m a small business owner (7 employees including myself) and here are my thoughts

1: As long as you are going to leave some administrative functions to staff - you must do a screening and verification check
2: It is a cost that you bear and if you ignore it, then you are opening yourself to product losses, thefts, financial loss, etc
3: It is painful when a search/verification costs more than some staff salaries but you must do it anyway.

In the end, Verification is good but what is more important is to ensure that you do not offer opportunities for staff to exploit you. This we have achieved by policies, controls and processes that everyone is trained in and made aware of.
