PoliticsRe: Breaking: Rivers Tribunal judge is Buhari's Inlaw - Pics by Nichobabe(m): 6:17pm On Oct 25, 2015
uwa1:
Let's put aside all our biased and unbiased points and critically look into this issue...

(1) Why did the judge order for a full rerun in all the LGA.
(A) Were all the LGA voting point found wanting.
(B) What happend to the various Voting Units that elections were legally conducted.

(2) Why was the previous judge changed.
(A) Was there any obvious evidence that the previous judge was compromised.
(B) What happend to the previous facts dat was on ground b4 the new Judge took over.

(3) We can bear the fact that our Executive and Legislative arm have been compromised, but our Judicial Arm is the last and only hope for the powerless in our great Nation. So we shldnt allow it to be compromised by those greedy politicians.
Wike should be happy that it is a re-run. In Edo state, Oshiomole was installed when Prof Osunbor was kicked out (and not a re-run).

There is still a chance for him to come back as governor, just like Dr Emmanuel Uduagha of Delta state during a re-run

lookandlaff:
he won't make a good minister, period! I said it a few days ago, Professor doesn't mean anything.
I don't think he will make a good minister. He is too old for the current world.

The man didn't even know the name of the deputy senate president (I hope he evenknow he was the deputy senate president)

my opinion - Senate should not confirm him, the worst so far
PoliticsRe: Where Is Nigeria Going To???? by Nichobabe(m): 10:09am On Oct 22, 2015
swaggprofessor:
1. On Tuesday this week during the screening of the ministerial nominees, an event occurred that left me with mouth wide opened in awe. Ministerial nominee Barr. Adebayo shittu was thoroughly scrutinized with series of question thrown at him for closed to an hour. He was asked a lot of reasonable, senseless and unnecessary questions but he took his time to answer them all. But when it got to the turn of Hon. Khadija Abba Ibrahim whose the wife to Senator Alhaji bukar Abba Ibrahim to the screened the senate president called on her husband Senator Alhaji Bukar Abba Ibrahim to question her which shouldn't have, Only for him to ask her how would she feel if she was asked to bow and go? How could that be a question in a screening exercisehuh. After that he asked her to bow and go. My question is when has a single man in the national assembly has the authority to ask a ministerial nominee to bow and go in a plenary session that comprises of 108 seated senatorshuh? Does it means that a ministerial nominee that is related to a senator cannot be screenedhuh Or Is that what is written in our constitutionhuh
2.How can 84 senators pledge a vote to a senator in court over false declaration of assetshuh How Nigerian Lawmakers be publicly embrassing fraud and corruption.

My personal conclusion is that Nigeria isn't matured enough for politics.
OP don't single her out, as the practice in the senate is to ask former members of senate or House of reps to always take a bow and go. The lady in question was a former member of house of reps and so was asked to take a bow and go, the senate president only gave the husband the honour of doing that. Just like they asked other former senators to take a bow and go.

If you are questioning the practice of take a bow and go for former senators and house of reps members I will understand.

I am just giving clarifications

InvestmentRe: This Is Bad News For Fixed Deposit Holder by Nichobabe(m): 9:18am On Oct 22, 2015
saintneo:
Ways Banks(bank branches) make money

1. Interests on deposit
2. Interests on loans(branches hardly do deals, most deals are done at the top; thus most branch manager rely on pull-interest rate on deposits)
3. Charge on transactions
4. Service charges
5. Foreign exchange, form A, form M etc

Let's take an example Bank X has 200 branches in Nigeria. The pull-interest rate for Bank X is 8%. If Branch Y located in Apapa maintains current accounts with deposits of about average of 600million annually, Branch Y will make 48million for the year based on current accounts deposits only. ... this is pretty 'easy' because they will get this deposits using their (3-to-6)marketers that they will pay 3 million on the average per year.
On the other hand, if Branch Y is to chase deals, the loans could go bad if business fails, the loanee bolts away or dies. This could lead to employee termination. This is very challenging, branch managers will prefer the easy way....deposits.

Now consider if the deposit rate is low, Branch Y will seek other means to generate revenue or reduce cost by sacking its staff. Consequently, Branch Y will seek genuine entreprenuers with great ideas to support in developing their businesses and earn profit for its services to the entreprenuer.
Thanks.
You must be a banker. Well explained

saintneo:
This will be a great policy from the CBN; if and only if it is true.

1. This will discourage people from hoarding money.
2. This will discourage government officials from fixing government funds in personal accounts.
3. It will encourage entreprenuers and entreprenuerships.
4. Banks will be forced to loans available since the profit from deposits will be very low.
5. If banks don't give out loans at low interest rates, their profitability will drop.
6. Bank workers such as marketers 3will be driven to pursue deals instead of monetary deposits.
6. Money for innovative people. Bank go beg for creative people to come up with ideas.
7. Banks will no go abroad to borrow excessively from foreign financial institutions.
8. Every business idea will count.
9. No more lazy methods of making money cheaply.
10. Add yours!!

Yipeeeeeeeeee!
Please can you explain 4 and 5 further
