Business / Re: Illegal ATM Withdrawals: How To Seek Justice? by Nick1: 6:00am On Nov 08, 2010
Does anyone know the rationale behind UBA charging monthly fees to access my NRN accounts. Other reputable banks have long dropped this evil. I will appreciate good comments, suggestions and ideas on how to move forward about it. Thanks.
Business / Re: Platinum Habib Bank / Bank PHB by Nick1: 3:49pm On Jun 29, 2010
phb, when are you going to respond to all these negative reviews about your services
Business / Re: Gtbank: The Most Trusted Bank? by Nick1: 1:24am On Mar 23, 2010
I would have said UBA is the best but I cannot bring myself to say that because UBA charges me N100/month to access my account online. Other banks have long dropped this crude way of making profits. ONLINE BANKING IS FREE EVERYWHERE EXCEPT AT UBA. WHAT A SHAME. angry angry angry angry angry
Business / Re: Rate Your Bank by Nick1: 1:10am On Mar 23, 2010
UBA charges me N100 PER MONTH for accessing my own account online. How ridiculous. Because of this I am angry and would not be able to rate any bank for now. angry angry angry
Business / Re: Platinum Habib Bank / Bank PHB by Nick1: 11:37pm On Dec 14, 2009
Hello guys,
I gave PHB a chance to fail me but they have not since I opened my NIDA accounts a few weeks ago. I had access to my accounts the same day my account numbers were provided to me, which was the second day after I sent my scanned documents along with the application.  I guess the pressure in the Nigerian banking industry is making everyone to buckle up.
Business / Re: Platinum Habib Bank / Bank PHB by Nick1: 8:56am On Sep 07, 2009
Hi Valoskie,

@ Blacko-Revo;
To operate a product like NIDA, Online access is key. Most of the nigerians in the West are used to instant access to their bank account.
Lack access to their accounts will be frowned upon as a fundamental flaw

Why on earth will i give them a try. 14 months to get access to my own damn account.

I am willing to give your bank a try and I hope it won't take 14 months for me to access my account. Thank you.
Business / Re: Platinum Habib Bank / Bank PHB by Nick1: 8:44am On Sep 07, 2009
@ Black-Revo

Thanks for this write-up and i never knew the intermediary bank will also charge me for the swift transfer. i just did mine for the first time with Skye bank on Friday but it will be executed 2moro.

My regular bank in Chicago charges $45.00 and the intermediary bank (The New York Bank) charges $10.00 each time I use the SWIFT service. I have since stopped using the SWIFT when my UBA RM told me about the UBA remit service. I like the UBAremit and PHB Easyremit services because, you can conveniently carry out your money transfer activities in your house as long as you are connected to the internet.
Business / Re: Platinum Habib Bank / Bank PHB by Nick1: 8:51am On Sep 06, 2009
PHB is at the top in the list of the banks I am considering to have business with. One factor which makes PHB at the top of my list is because of its Easy remit service. It is similar to that of UBA remit service ( i use it for my UBA NRN account) which is cheaper and equally faster as with SWIFT service employed by other banks.
Skye bank is great but they don't have their own remit service and Diamond bank is excellent, but their minimum opening amount of N1000000.00 seams unreasonable and they don't also have a direct remit service.
One thing I dislike about the SWIFT service is that your bank which process the transfer charges you a fee and the intermediary bank also charges you a fee. But with the remit service, you are charged once and it is much cheaper even though there is a restriction on the amount you can send at one time or in a given period; $7500 maximum and total of $50,000 in six months.
Business / Re: Platinum Habib Bank / Bank PHB by Nick1: 7:44am On Sep 06, 2009
Valoskie,
When I introduced the post about PHB bank, I never thought it would generate such a strong passion from fellow nairalanders. This level of concern about the efficiency and effectiveness of an institution especially in the banking industry only suggest how much we expect our banks to perform to a higher standard because our hard earned monies are involved.

I commend you for a good job well done so far in exhibiting maturity in responding to the concerns and worries people have about your bank. Your responses are certainly assuring and they have helped to alleviate my fear about your bank's operational effeciencies and capabilities. You will get my vote for a higher position in your bank.
In the meantime, get the best technology for your IT dept because as the global economy continues to run on a 24hr circle so would your investors or account holders desire to have instant access to their funds at anytime and at anywhere.
Also, record every caller's coversation with your bank for later use in training or re-training your staffs on how to deal with angry, concerncerned, worried, troulbled current and potential customers. I wish you and your bank the very best.

Gani Fawehinmi,
I hope your death will trigger the sound of justice to begin to ring in the ears of Nigeria's policy and decision makers. Those of us who believe in what you stood for will continue the fight from where left off. May your soul rest in peace and may God grant your family the fortitude to bear your departure even as the nation mourns with your loved ones. sad sad sad sad sad sad sad sad sad sad sad sad sad

Bad behaviour is indeed genetic and we see it everyday in Ibo boys all over the world

Your comment is absurd and totally offensive to any human intelligence and dignity. I should not have dignified you by replying to your obscene comment, but I can just let you passed by without telling you that you are a pathetic alien. tongue tongue tongue tongue
Politics / Re: Is 419 in our genes? by Nick1: 9:45am On Sep 03, 2009
Another word for 419 is simply SCAM. This is english word which means 419ers, fraudsters, scammers, oles, oyinochi and barawos and they are everywhere around the globe. Therefore, there is no 419 in anyone's gene because 419 is a character and not a living substance that may be a part of your genetic composition. cheesy cheesy cheesy cheesy cheesy

What are your charges/fees? I hope there are no hidden fees Mr. Lawyer that fights omonile? On a more serious note; how far do you go in fighting omonile(s) and I hope you realized that many of them use voodoo. Do you employ voodoo tactics to counter their voodooism?
Business / Re: Platinum Habib Bank / Bank PHB by Nick1: 8:46am On Sep 03, 2009
Na wao, the responses are quite overwhelming. More negative experiences and opinions and there is hardly any positive opinion about Bank PHB so far.
Thanks to everyone that contributed and especially to those who recommended other banks because of their positive experiences with those banks. Now, I have more info, and I can definitely make an informed decision based on your comments. I will definitely check out the Skye and Diamond bank NIDA products. smiley smiley smiley

When did you realize that she is the wrong person for you?. Did somebody put a gun on your head to marry her? Your story is pathetic and you look pathetic for asking nairalanders to provide comments to your absurd story. This forum should be for serious minded people with real issues or concerns and not imaginary problems because you feel pressured to make a post. sad sad

I can not remember the last time I cried, but I will forever remember today- June 25, 2009 because I cried when I saw on ABC news that Michael Jackson, the King of Pop was dead. Politics / Re: Make Me The Next President Of Nigeria by Nick1: 7:37pm On Dec 20, 2008
The next election should not be a "do or die affair". It should be an opportunity to bring about REAL change to Nigeria. A real change I am ready to lead. Iam evaluating the parties to see the one that would be opened to the idea of doing things in a new way instead of the status quo. Otherwise, I might consider starting a new generational party from the scratch. I shall keep you posted.

Politics / Make Me The Next President Of Nigeria by Nick1: 11:50pm On Dec 13, 2008
I definitely want to become the next President of Nigeria. Silver or gold I have not, but I love Nairaland. I am compassionate, I am loving, hardworking, very hopeful like Obama. I am kind and generous and very empathetic to the difficulties and hardships average Nigerian faces everyday. I am a responsible married man and a father, at least in the eyes of my wife and children.

I am not related, nor friends with any of these families, Nnamdi Azikwe, Tafawa Balewa, Yakubu Gowon, Gen. Murtala Mohammed, Obasanjo, Shagari, Awolowo, Abiola, Yar Adua, IBB, Abacha, or any other rich brat dead or alive.

I am threfore using this forum to launch an "Exploratory Committee" that would see to the feasibility and the possibility of my dream coming true. This is the first step. Interested parties with great minds and unyielding hope in the bright and very good future of Nigeria should reply to this post.
