PoliticsPresidency Reacts To Report Buhari Spent N6billion On Presidential Air Fleet by nicklaus40(op): 8:02pm On Nov 17, 2015
The Nigerian Presidency has released a statement, saying a little above two billion Naira, not an outlandish six billion, has so far been spent on maintenance of the presidential air fleet between May and now.
The amount spent, the government said, included salaries and repayment of old debts.
In a statement in Abuja on Tuesday, Garba Shehu, the Senior Special Assistant to the President (Media and Publicity) ”expressed frustration at what he described as a fictional report that has caused the government a lot of negative reviews especially in the online media”.
The statement added, “The government is focused on solving the many major issues our country faces in the areas of the economy, corruption and security. Yet almost every week, the Presidency has to also deal with the distractions which do nothing but distract from the task of government.”
”Referring to documents he had requested from the Operational Office of the Presidential Fleet after his attention was drawn to the speculative report, Malam Shehu pointed out that the sum of N2.3 billion was released to the Presidential Air Fleet (PAF) by the office of the Accountant General of the Federation between May and November 2015. This includes releases for personnel cost, overhead and capital expenditure out of the sum of N5,190,381,386.00 appropriated for PAF on the 2015 budget.
”The documents also showed that the sum of N2,127,103,086.66 had so far been expended, leaving a balance of N172,568,912.34 from the amount released.
“However, the sum of N149,062,791.12 was transferred from the PAG’s operation account to the Treasury Single Account, following the President’s recent directive,” he said.
”He added that the sum of N23,801,122.17 remains unutilised out of the funds so far released. During the period 31 May 2015 till date, the Fleet expended the sum of N1,358,910,962.75 to settle outstanding liabilities carried over from last year till May 2015. Furthermore, the sum of N500 million was refunded to the office of the National Security Adviser, NSA for financial support rendered to the Fleet prior to release of funds from the OAGF.
”Thus, the Fleet expended the sum of N449,081,037.25 within the last months comprising N98,500,218.00 for operations, N165,373,176.91 on training and N85,500,116.75 on personnel medicals and overhead. Additionally, the sum of N99,715,493.51 was expended on aircraft maintenance, spares, and subscription services required for operations.
“Any of these documents could have been made available had the newspaper reached out to me or to any one of my colleagues. The damage to the image of government and the good management of the Presidential Air Fleet could have been avoided,” he said.
”The Senior Special,Assistant also put the number of aircraft on the Presidential fleet at 10, not 14 as cited by that report.
”He gave the inventory in the spirit of openness as transparency instituted by the Buahri administration as made up of:
PAF-AIRCRAFT INVENTORY
1. 1× 737 BBJ
2. 1× G550
3. 1× G500
4. 2× Falcon 7X
5. 1× HS 4000
6. 2× Agusta139
7. 2× Agusta 101
Total aircraft holdings 10.”‎

Let this not be a prelude to slashing workers salaries. He can slash his own but should not go near the N18,000 minimum wage. Many Nigerians need employment and I believe reducing cost of governance at the executive, legislative and judicial levels will make more resources available for the good of the common man. Nigerians are in dire need of some comfort.
I doubt it,i dnt think he is going to reduce the minimum wage, I bliv he is trying to cut d cost of governance so as to provide more opportunities and wealth for the masses

PoliticsRe: Aregebesola: The Unsung Hero In Apc ‘s Path To Presidency by nicklaus40: 11:01am On May 23, 2015
Remmyode:
@WombRaiders, Ifyan, Bacanista, it is no longer a news about the delay in payment of Osun workers salaries by Aregbesola led administration the State workers are owned 5months salaries while local government staffs are owned 2 months. Osun state allocation used to be 4 to 4.6billion every month and salaries will gulp 3.5 billion and since the dwindling allocation from the federal government it has affected Osun and several other state. now osun allocation has dropped to the lowest of 900million naira in last month, so how do you expect Aregbesola to perform miracles? Earlier before now, Aregbesola has been paying workers additional one month salary bonus instead of 12 months he pays 13 months annually, Is he not humane enough? He introduces training and workshop both home and abroad for civil servant on resumption which lots of the workers benefited immensely with huge incentives and bonus.

Meanwhile the issue of delayed in salary and pension payment is not about Osun alone its across board, other state include Abia, Akwa Ibom, Bauchi, Benue, Cross River, Ekiti, Imo, Jigawa, Kano, Katsina, and Kogi, Ogun, Ondo, Oyo, Plateau, Rivers and Zamfara states as reported in the Punch Newspaper. Most of this state are currently being managed by PDP.

I am a victim of Aregbesola demolitions and i have never benefited a single kobo directly from the governor but i have benefited immensely through the infrastructure he built in the state, many of you don't know Osun before Aregbesola and thats the reason we voted him massively again. We are still proud of him. #STILL#

For the record, my OPINION is not to glorify Aregbesola for not paying salaries but for his contribution to APC nationally in spearheading the taking over of ASO ROCK so i don't know why you guys are bringing up different issue against my opinion. you can open a new thread and attack him if you wish am sure SEUN OSEWA wont charge you for that.

If you care to know, this is what PDP and your Super Hero Boss Goodluck Jonathan has plunged nigeria to compare to Aregbesola in Osun
"OBASANJO & YARADUA DID NOT LEAVE ANY DEBT FOR NIGERIA BUT RATHER LEFT HUGE SUMS OF MONEY AS NATIONAL RESERVE FOR NIGERIA.
JONATHAN (WHO IS NIGERIA'S GREATEST MISTAKE) MISTAKENLY BECAME PRESIDENT ON MAY 2010 AND BY MAY 2015,IT WAS DISCOVERED THAT JONATHAN HAS ACCRUED A DEBT OF 60 BILLION U.S DOLLARS FOR NIGERIA
$1 = N228
60 BILLION DOLLARS × 228 = 13.7 TRILLION NAIRA (interest excluded)
IF NIGERIA PAYS BACK 5 BILLION NAIRA EVERY MONTH
13.7 TRILLION NAIRA DIVIDED BY 5 BILLION NAIRA = 2740 MONTHS
1 YEAR = 12 MONTHS
2740 MONTHS = 228 YEARS
IN OTHER WORDS,IT WILL TAKE NIGERIA AT LEAST 228 YEARS TO REPAY THE DEBT JONATHAN OWED (interest excluded)
THIS CLEARLY MEANS THAT OUR CHILDREN,
GRANDCHILDREN,GREAT GRANDCHILDREN AND GREAT GREAT GRANDCHILDREN WILL STILL PAY WHAT JONATHAN OWED.
Now,who says JONATHAN is not BADLUCK?
don't mind them,it saddens my heart wen I see people who knw nothing about osun say rubbish about ogbeni, d salary issue is an unfortunate incident of which will come to an end very soon,it is just a trying time and we shall pass over it... Ogbeni has done a lot for osun people and we appreciate him and pray for him, may God bless and keep him.

Right now I wish there was a word more greater than thank you. You've really impacted in me in this regard. Thanks a lot. Pls do well to share and explain other perceptions as well as theories you might know regarding this topic. That reminds me, I am to write on (Conceptual Issues

A) undeveloped
B) Underdeveloped
C)Developing
D) Less Developed
E) Development)
Pls Kindly offer me a summary in your perspective.
u wlcm....undeveloped is lack of development, it is like d first stage of development and it is believed every country either developed or underdeveloped av bin at dis level at a particular time, underdeveloped is nt lack of development buh a process in attaining development,a country may be developed politically buh may be underdeveloped economically and dis is underdevelopment, for a country to be regarded as developed it must be socially, economically and politically developed, wen a country lacks d 4 den dat is undeveloped buh wen a country has at least one dat is underdevelopment, undevelopment is d first stage of development buh I don't tink an undeveloped state still exist buh dia are many underdeveloped states...Underdeveloped,less developed and developing are d same thing, just dat diff scholars use dem aw dey feel,d word underdeveloped lacks moral standard while less develop also discourages d 3rd world, developing gvs unnecessary hope because a country whose development has stalled hears ppl calling it developing would gv unnecessary hope, dis 3 words can be used interchangeably so it is best to call d less developed, developing nd underdeveloped countries 3rd world,i hope u understand my point here
PoliticsRe: Politics Of Development. And Underdevelopment by nicklaus40: 11:50pm On Apr 18, 2015
Mrshroud:
thank you very much, this is exactly what I want. If it's possible please explain further.
modernization theory is a theory based on d ideologies of the west(developed European countries) they bliv that for less developed countries to attain development they must imbibe the cultures of the west i.e they must be like d west... they bliv d ldc should embrace capitalism and spread it and by doing so dey wld be developed, ww rostow explained dat development involves 5 stages wich are traditional stage, transitional stage, take off stage, drive to maturity stage nd high consumption stage,he blivs d developed countries esp US av gobe thru this stage and dat is why dey are developed and for LDCs to attain development dey must go thru dia stages(from traditional to modern stage)..... the dependency theorists on d oda hand are scholars frm d LDCs and dey claim dat underdevelopment in d 3rd world today is as a result of imperialism, colonialism nd neo colonialism, dey also believe capitalism is used by d developed countries to exploit d LDCs and globalisation is a tool dey use to achieve their aim of exploitation,so for LDCs to attain development dey must av nothing to do with d developed countries i.e total 'delink' from the developed countries so as nt to be exploited further, I hope dis will help
