United looking for a draw. So, we draw Liverpool, Man city, Tottenham, Chelsea, and Arsenal? That's 10 points dropped right there. Title winners play to win every game. |
CrEaToRmalden:That's Mourihno's modus operandi. He quickly goes into self-preservation mode in big games. |
This game is embarrassing to watch. Liverpool deserves to win this thing. Again, only one team is playing to win. United has done well so far this season playing smaller teams. Imagine cowering in front of the big teams. |
Smalling and Demian have always spelled doom for United. No confidence in the United team. Man city trashed Liverpool and Liverpool is about to embarrass United. |
United is just leaving spaces everywhere for Liverpool to run. This is all the coach's fault. Only one team is playing to win here. The other as always is happy to take a point home. |
Mourinho needs to stop with this negative approach and take this game to Liverpool. Demian and Smalling in a big game? The midfield is completely overrun by Liverpool. This is a disappointing game. Mihky is either not ready for this game or needs support. This is what happens when you enter a game with a one-point-is-okay attitude rather than a winning mentality. Although I am a United fan, I still think United is far from winning the title. I'll give it Man city at this point. |
While waiting till next week, let me know the cost of clearing a 2007 and 2008 Toyota Rava. Both are coming from Houston and will be RORO. Thanks |
A group of statisticians is gathering data on how Nigerians think President Buhari has performed so far. Please, let's hear your thoughts. Every poll taker will have a chance to see the results when it's collated and plotted in charts. It shouldn't take more than 30 seconds to complete the poll. Many thanks in advance. See link below http://www.54metrics.com/poll/004 |
Hi Auctionexport, can you help me with checking this VIN number? JN8AZ08T55W300683 Many thanks. Highly appreciated. |
The Nigerian bubble is going to burst much sooner than later. At an average $110/bbl of oil, Nigeria was awash with petrodollars and combined with misappropriation (corruption, etc) fuelled the current real estate bubble we are seeing. At $36/bbl of oil and the subsequent cash crunch, it is difficult to see how the present economy can sustain Nigeria's overinflated housing market without a significant correction. I think all the available data point to some form of corrections that will begin in 2016. |
Change is a beginning. We all know that. We look forward to better days, and we anticipate what will happen with varying degrees of anxiety. We also may worry about the future. Be that as it may, change is the beginning of something new. But change is also an ending. To this extent, we must mourn it, and we must ceremoniously bury the past, surrender what is now gone and is forever lost. Change, by rolling events down into the abyss of an irrecoverable past, is also sad, tragic, is about loss and leads to nostalgia. ... People are grateful if we understand and honor their hurt. But above all, change is a leap through a neutral zone. That is the crazy period, the period of insanity. Remember, you cannot leap over a precipice in two easy smaller jumps. While in the air, you are gripped by the panic, the anxiety, that are the inevitable companions of true growth. In other words, it is okay to have anxiety during this transitionary period! I have heard people ask: "it is already 7 months, what has PMB done?". Some have even compared his 7 months to the previous 16 years. Some are already writing off the administration based on 7 months of transitionary experience. Again, it's okay to feel varying degrees of anxiety, but as 'a beginning', 'an ending' and 'a leap through a neutral zone', the positive change that Nigerians voted for is surely coming to pass. cc Lalasticlala |
A simple calculation will help us here. Let's assume the time frame is mid-2012 to mid-2015. Assuming conservatively that oil averaged $90 between 2012 and 2014, and $55 in 2015, Nigeria should have produced and realized the following in oil revenue: 2012 (half year) = 1,900,000 bbl/d *0.5*365 days * $90 = $31.228B 2013 (full year) = 1,900,000 bbl/d * 365 days * $90 = $62.457B 2014 (full year) = 1,900,000 bbl/d * 365 days * $90 = $62.457B 2015 (half year) = 1,900,000 bbl/d * 0.5 * 365 days * $55 = $19.084B Total = $175.228B. Assuming Finding, development and overhead cost is $27/bbl (or 30% of the average price) (this is the average cost for Nigeria's crude production), the net profit is: 0.7*$175.228B = $122.66B Finally, assuming a sharing formula of 55:45 between the Nigerian govt and the oil companies, Nigeria's NET share of proceeds - less every cost is: 0.55*$122.66B = $67.463B In Naira, using an average exchange rate of N160/$: $67.463B * 160 = N10.8T And, by the way, these numbers are very conservative because Nigeria produced more than 1.9m bbl/d in these years and oil averaged $100. Nigeria's net share of proceeds is typically larger than 55% and cost of producing Nigeria's crude can be as low as $8/bbl. We should be talking about a number significantly larger than 8.1T. NNPC had no business spending N3.8T and I will like to know how and what they spent the money on. Clearly, it's not part of the cost of oil production. |
This is my state-by-state projections of March 28 elections. Margin of error is +- 7%. I used a combination of factors including: 1. Voting pattern in 2011 2. Voter turnout in 2011 3. PVC collection rate and when collected (people who collected their PVC in the last weeks are more likely to vote than earlier collectors) 4. Overall political sentiments in the country 5. My personal judgement. Let me know your thoughts. Clearly, it's looking every bit like a very tight race.

****Culled piece- interesting**** People should stop the nonsense about Nigeria being the largest economy in Africa under Jonathan. The real measure to use is per capita income (PCI). Using GDP is like comparing apples to oranges. It is like saying that I am stronger than my four year old son. While this is true, it does not mean anything. Just as we use price per earnings ratio to compare stocks instead of the actual stock price, we use PCI to compare the well being of citizens of a country. Here is a few comparisons for 2013. Country-------Population-------GDP------------PCI------------Life expectancy Nigeria---------173.6m----------$521.8bn------$3,005---------52.11yrs South Africa---52.98m----------$350.6bn------$6807---------56.10yrs USA-------------316.5m----------$16.77tr-------$53,041-------78.7yrs Norway---------5.084m----------$512.6bn------$100,818-----81.45yrs As you can see, the PCI for South Africa is more than twice that of Nigeria. Norway's PCI is almost twice that of the United States and 33 times that of Nigeria. Also notice the correlation between PCI and life expectancy – better PCI means better quality of life/longevity. Jonathan should stop fooling Nigerians and admit failure. The GDP rose because of the oil and telecommunications boom. With our population, our GDP should be over three times that of SA period.

This is funny. Laugh it off: A teacher asked his students, 1 + 1 = ? A student stood up and said 4. A man passing by overheard the answer, shook his head and said to himself "My God, Jonathan will not kill us in this country. Every thing has increased - transport fare, fuel price, nomination forms, WAEC, NECO, JAMB Form. Even 1+1 that used to be 2 has now gone up to be 4!!!" |
Your listings are the best so far on Nairaland with the pictures. This is the most professional listing I have seen. Keep it up. |
GeneralShepherd:Shaarraap there! You are PDP and have always been. Stop coming here with the 'I will not vote PDP bla bl bla' masquerading as a change agent when you are not. RIP to the dead - a person's life shouldn't be used for political gains. As Nigerians, we are culturally designed to sympathize with people in their loss. I join all well meaning Nigerians to sympathize with Mr. President. |
Back in 1998, when Dora Akunyili was the Zonal Secretary (South-east) of the Petroleum (Special) Trust Fund, she had traveled to the United States to get a cancer treatment surgery. Gen. Buhari, who was then the PTF Chairman, approved £17,100 for her medical treatment. Attached is a 1999 letter from late Dora to Gen. Buhari, thanking him for his approval and also letting him know that she was returning £12,000 of the £17,100 as doctors decided surgery was not needed. On Akunyili's letter, GMB wrote: "... see above report from PTF zonal secretary zone II. You see that there are still Nigerians with personal integrity. Please take action in line with TF financial regulation" - MB Buhari always celebrating integrity, then and NOW! #CelebrateIntegrity #ThisIsBuhari
|
Why is this not on the Front Page? Aren't we supposed to be celebrating integrity? So 'Peter Okoye Having Fun With His Kids' is front page material but this isn't? SMH. |
New jet for the presidential fleet? Didn't NOI just declare austerity for 2015? Why would GEJ ask for a new jet in 2015 when Nigeria's 2015 budget is bench-marked against $65/bbl of oil but Brent crude is struggling to trade for $60/bbl, and Nigeria is struggling to find buyers for its January 2015 crude oil cargoes? How important is a new jet to a presidential fleet which already has 8 functional high-end jets? Biko, what happened to austerity, eh, Madam NOI? Seriously? |
erico2k2:You really think everyone is as lazy as your bunch who look for where to copy and paste. Pathetic. Go and run your analysis, then come and talk to me. |
Sunnybobo3:Grrrrrhhh - too many senseless people here. You didn't see that the numbers are in 2014 $ or don't you know what that means? Lol... Clearly I shouldn't be wasting my time talkin to you here. You have no clue what you're saying. Now you want me to normalize for Congress and number of universities... lol |
Sunnybobo3:Lol - it is looong thing for Naija with the sort of people we have. I think the next administration needs to do something about our educational system. Okay, the whole idea of bringing in earnings is to normalize things so that we are making apple-to-apple comparisons. Population could be another normalizing denominator. Now, your homework is to figure out per carpita Earnings between GMB and GEJ's times, then come back and talk to me. The difference is that I go out, and actually run numbers rather than sit and spew senseless arguments. Imagine the arrant nonsense. Lol - una no go kill person. |
Sunnybobo3:Rubbish! it is too hard for you to comprehend, right? It is convenient for you to believe the 107% lie (comparing official price at one end with parallel at the other end) but hard data is tough to reckon with, right? Typical Nigerian! Nonsense. |
MODs - for fairness, you need to post this to FP as well. Nairaland should be a platform for informational and intelligent knowledge sharing and not just a PDP campaign platform/machinery. There are clearly two records of primary market FX data available for the period under consideration: 1980: Official - N0.55/$ and Parallel - N0.90/$ 1981: Official - N0.61/$ 1982: Official - N0.673/$ 1983: Official - N0.724/$ 1984: Official - N0.765/$ 1985: Official - N0.894/$ and Parallel - N1.70/$ The statistically meaningful thing to do is to interpolate between N0.90 and N1.70 to fill out the unreported data between 1981 and 1984. If this is done, the data looks like this: 1980: Official - N0.55/$ and Parallel - N0.90/$ 1981: Official - N0.61/$ and Parallel - N1.04/$ 1982: Official - N0.673/$ and Parallel - N1.186/$ 1983: Official - N0.724/$ and Parallel - N1.304/$ 1984: Official - N0.765/$ and Parallel - N1.399/$ 1985: Official - N0.894/$ and Parallel - N1.70/$ 2010: Official - N148/$ and Parallel - N155/$ Now:Official - N168/$ and Parallel - N193/$ Based on this, Naira lost value as follows: Official Parallel Buhari 23.48% 30.37% Jonathan 13.51% 24.54% Clearly, the Naira did not experience a 107% depreciation as the earlier thread had deceptively reported. Nigerians are not that gullible. However, in Buhari's period in power, Nigeria earned a total of $69.92B (in 2014 $) with $41.95B accruing to the FG and states. In Jonathan's time, Nigeria has earned a total of $484.2B as at October (in 2014 $) with $290.5B of that accruing to the FG and states. These numbers were derived from monthly records of crude sales (from CBN's website which is a public) and a roughly 60% vs 40% split between Nigeria and the IOCs respectively. Nigeria has never seen as much record earnings in its history as we have seen in Jonathan's time yet there is nothing to show for it. Slow people want us to compare Buhari's 20 months in office with $41B and Jonathan's 60 months in office with $290B. What did Jonathan do with Nigeria's $290B record earnings? Why is the ECA just at $2B when countries like Norway have saved up hundreds of Billions this same period? Why is the foreign reserve still at $30B? What happened to the Sovereign Wealth Fund (SWF)? Jonathan and his cronies have 'gang-banged' (whatever that means) the economy and have absolutely nothing to show for it. |
Jonathanians are seriously taking Nigerians for a ride. Y'all must think Nigeria is made up of grossly inept people like your educated illiterate pay master. Morally bankrupt Doyin Okupe on GMB Doyin Okupe wrote this: " Buhari is trying to make poverty a virtue but poverty is not a virtue. The fact that Buhari has left office for so long and says he is so poor, is nothing to celebrate, it is indeed indolence and shameful. Is that a role model? Is that who you will want your child to be, a poor man? Dele Alake responded as follows : "Dr. Okupe is grossly mistaken. He lives in a completely perverse and illusory world. General Buhari is immensely rich in character. He is affluent in integrity. He is prosperous in credibility. He is wealthy in honesty. He is bounteously blessed in self discipline, self control and contentment. Those are greater and more valuable than all the material acquisition in the world." |
2015 Elections boil down to the following: #VoteAgainstCorruption #VoteAgainstEconomicMismanagement #VoteAgainstInsecurity #VoteAgainstUnemployment #RescueNigeria #VoteWisely |
Some of us have been clamoring for change as our reason for supporting GMB/Osinbajo's ticket, but some pundits are insisting that we can't demand for change just for the sake of change. This thread is meant to Chronicle the reasons we are clamoring for change as represented by GMB/Osinbajo's ticket. Please drop your reasons. Let me get the ball rolling: 1. I want change for the sake of the cancer called corruption - I believe GMB/Osinbajo will fight corruption to a standstill. |
This is fan's posting on GMB's facebook wall: " Those who don't want you, give all form of excuses. From age, to religion, to tribe. The truth is that's not why the they don't want you. They are afraid of the change you will bring. Changing from corruptible to incorruptible. The average Nigerian has been so enmerged into corruption, shortcuts, bribery that anyone with a credential to fight those ills automatically becomes their enemy. That's the same reason even undergraduates hate professors and lecturers who don't take bribes in cash or in kind. We have become so soaked in mediocrity. I want to assure you of my votes and that of all my followers. In a shortwhile, I have learnt to lead like u. I have followers who can stand by me, like am standing by u. You will be our President come May 29th 2015. God bless you my General." Happy Birthday to General Mohammadu Buhari! Now lets #RescueNigeria |
