jmaine:
My oga  grin, How does the emboldened help our moral standing . . . moreover i saw a polling result somewhere citing Akwa Ibom and Rivers  . .if you check well on the forum . .you would see it . . . how many results have we seen on nairaland if you exclude Lagos areas and the Largely inflated Kano results . . .  cheesy cheesy
You are right. I was only trying to say that two wrongs can't make a right. The poster was trying to justify what is happening in the South because of underaged voters in the North. That doesn't make sense to me. I condemn underage voting and I also condemn blatant rigging as I have been told reliably is going on right now in the South. Anyways, I know we all want a better Nigeria - I hope we, the people end up being the winners in this process.

agabaI23:
have you said anything about the underage voting in the north?
All those high numbers coming from the north must all be eligible voters.

I hear you!
So the SS and SE should sell their consciences to the devil because under-aged voters were registered in the north?. Must you try to justify one evil with another?

Areosapien:
I'm not in support of Goodluck Jonathan, but I can tell you, Buhari will not be getting up to 0.8% of the votes in Imo state, and that's just putting it mildly. I really hope, though, that his chances are a lot stronger and better in the other states, cuz in Imo, I swear de people love Jonathan even more than Bayelsans do. I am being realistic here! sad
Hell, even the two gubernatorial front-runners (as well as the ACN opposition!) are in support of Goodluck. So, Imo is definitely out of the question, my broda, cuz it is one hell of a GEJ stronghold.
All the same, I wish BB the best and hope it succeeds.
I'm fro Imo state too and I talk to people there frequently. I must say you are absolutely correct. But I did factor that in. Buhari will still win. Saturday is already here.
PoliticsRe: I'm Predicting Buhari Will Win On Saturday! by Nicklee(op): 2:21pm On Apr 15, 2011
I will reiterate again: Using the NASS election might be a big mistake. Buhari will carry the day tomorrow. My prediction and I stand by it.
PoliticsI'm Predicting Buhari Will Win On Saturday! by Nicklee(op): 2:13am On Apr 15, 2011
He is going in as an underdog. A decent man, yet vilified by lovers and supporters of the status quo. However, the buzz generated by the rigged NASS elections is assuming that northerners will vote for Jonathan, while tribalistic easterners (I'm from SE) and S. southerners ride on the north's ignorance to celebrate. Buhari is the underdog and I haven't seen any reasons yet to underestimate the ability of people that love Buhari, especially in the north, to rise up, vote massively for him and defend the integrity of the process.

So I am predicting that Buhari will win on Saturday.
PoliticsRe: 12 Persons Arrested With 1 Million Presidential Election Ballot Papers! by Nicklee(m): 1:23pm On Apr 12, 2011
@jmainr: Did you see the story from 234Next? INEC denying this. There is no smoke without fire and for the sake of Nigeria (our country whihc is certainly bigger than any person's political ambition), I think we should all rise and condemn this. In the end, we are the very ones that will suffer from our indifference to or even outright support for fraud!!!

I don't care who wins or looses as long as the PEOPLE's wishes are reflected. That should be our guiding principle.

Read up the true story from a reliable source and stop ridiculing yourself by backing a falsified claim from a sinking party . .

http://thenationonlineng.net/web3/news/33553.html

It's only a fool that will read the link above and still cast aspersions that there is any form of discussion on this damn thread . . Thought you were even wise enough to back down after being told and shown the true story of events, further entrenching Sahara Deceiving Reporters as a source meant for the Junks of Journalism . . Ekpo Unam Ikot  cheesy
First: I respect you a lot jmaine especially from your posts (so need to attack me). But the article you just posted gives room for a lot more concern than the ones from SR. 1m 'tendered' ballot papers just moving around and you think that is not enough grounds to be suspicious? And if they are used in voting, how would the presiding officers know? Will they be at every polling unit to check the ballot papers used? Why would INEC move such sensitive materials without proper security? I doubt this. INEC should come out with an official statement on this.
PoliticsRe: 12 Persons Arrested With 1 Million Presidential Election Ballot Papers! by Nicklee(m): 2:37am On Apr 12, 2011
The report didn't even mention PDP and all PDP supporters are already going bunkers. PDP rigged in 2003. They rigged again massively in 2007. It beats me that some people are still supporting and even acclaiming these same set of election manipulators. With this attitude and outlook to life, I'm pretty sure 'i no go better for naija' until we as a people change.

It is a well known fact that ballot papers were printed and used in many parts of the north. People are currently being arrested and are confessing. And some people find it Ok. We are so used to fraud in Nigeria that some of our actions are simply bizzare.
PoliticsRe: National Assembly Elections, Saturday 9th April, 2011 by Nicklee(m): 9:15pm On Apr 10, 2011
Now I know why results were delayed till now. This is the so called free and fair elections, right? People queue up and vote, then Jega and his group decide to withhold results announcements until they have added all the additional zeros that they have been paid to add.

I knew the celebration yesterday was too soon. Nigeria couldn't have changed all of a sudden,

What are you still doing in the USA?You are enjoying what another built, why not build yours?
I am studying and getting better education here that would be useful to Nigeria in the long run. The fact that I'm glued to my computer monitoring the outcome of the elections means my heart is still in Nigeria. That is not to say I'm not glad I came to study in the US cos the education I have gotten so far is uncomparatively better than the anything I got in Nigeria. Maybe this is also part of the reason I'm hoping for change, cos I know it can be better in Nigeria if and when we get our acts right. And that change just might be happening already!
PoliticsRe: National Assembly Elections, Saturday 9th April, 2011 by Nicklee(m): 5:46pm On Apr 10, 2011
Nigerian press 'don fall my hand'. It is incredible that you can't find all collated results in one place, anywhere. What the heck are these people doing for crying out loud? In the US ( I know some people will descend on me for using the US as an example), results are uploaded by the press as soon as they are announced at the local voting center. Nothings wrong with that cos as long as results has been collated at the polling booth and announced, it becomes legit!! It doesn't take so much resources to do this simple thing. Ok, more than 24 hrs after elections, no news corp has sat down to collate and publish results announced so far. Everything is still all over the place. This is ridiculous.

Grow up Nigeria, grow up.

Na wa Oo. So after standing in the sun to cast their votes, these hawks are now trying to change the beautiful tune half way into the dance. I'm begining to think Jega may not deserve the praise we have been singing all this while. Why hasn't he forced the RECs to declare results? What's up with midnight abracadabra and 1000 becoming 10000? Oga Oo. Nigeria hasn't changed afterall

muami:
I thought it was only me that saw that. Just to add that CPC only had significant votes in the areas that they won and came last in every other area.   Go GEJ
There we go again. Let's wait till Saturday, but to add to the permutation:

The total number of votes cast for PDP vs. ACN vs. CPC will be an interesting thing to see. Then we need to realign a little bit. Most people that voted ACN in the SE and SS and even APGA will vote for GEJ. In the same light, most people that voted PDP in the north will also vote for CPC. This is because in the presidential elections, a lot of people will see it as between us and them - the SS and SE will likely rally round GEJ and the North will like say Sai Buhari as they will surely rather vote for their own than cast their vote for GEJ. That again will leave us with the SW (oh sweet SW)!!!.

This is my permutation though. But either ways, I still dey laugh Oo!!!

Maybe we all should stop the speculations right now and report only authentic results. Please, this is too serious to rely on speculations. If you have any authentic results, please past, otherwise I think it is fair to say we need to refrain from speculations.

Maybe you are the bigger mumu. He clearly said SOMEONE called him and said it is ACN all the way. He was fair enough to let us know that this is secondary information. Now if you think he is mumu and you are not a bigger one, tell us if it is PDP all the way. I don't get why some peeps are so quick to call others names.

Do you have proof? If yes, show it. If no, then shut up. You can't just come in here and spew hatred without some proof. By the way, didn't bombing start in the Niger Delta? Did anyone accuse western nations of supplying arms to those militants? What are you really talking about? By the way, I am from the SE and I think your post is an insult to our collective sensibility as a people.

I am a CPC voter but i will rather err on the side of caution, except CPC pulls some heavy wins in NW,NE, and NC then PDP will still have the majority in the SENATE. This is what i am talking about, reason for once and stop behaving like kindergarten students

WHERE ARE THE RESULTS OF KOGI, ENUGU, ADAMAWA, BAUCHI, BENUE, AKWA IBOM, TARABA, RIVERS, EBONYI, ABUJA And other PDP dominated states?, Show me these results then i can throw a party nairaland.
 grin
I understand your point. But why shouldn't we celebrate. So far PDP has lost some zones and that is something worth celebrating. Even if they end up winning majority in the senate (which I seriously doubt), the results so far are enough grounds to throw a party!!!

You are a born liar GEJ never campaigned along ethnic lines he was holistic and represent unity. Buhari campaigned only in North mainly as he did for PTF.
Liar. Buhari did not campaign mainly in the North. He campaigned all over. He attracted more crowds in the north, if that is what you planned to say. Ofcourse he didn't have governors in the SE and SS states that were there to do the ground work for him. SO between Buhari and GEJ, Buhari has worked much harder in these elections.

Please let's get back to election results. I will appreciate if you don't 'reply' my post. Let's not derail this, Ejor, Biko, (not sure how to say this in hausa). Election results are more important at this time than the bickering and name calling.

Sorry for calling you a liar by the way.
