roxell120:Nonsense again. This is called democracy. Your vote is your power. Stop spewing hatred and vote on competence. If your region has qualified people who have the capacity to change things, let them campaign on that and let the voters decide. STOP these tribal wars. |
Awesome. More results people, you guys are doing a heck of a job. I'm glued to my laptop today Oo. LoL!!! |
Can all tribalist SHUT UP their STUPID mouths? This is becoming ridiculous. Must everything be turned to a tribal war? Can't we for once in our frustrated lives live above this? This is elections people, not some roadside park fight. Nonsense. |
naijaking1:Then you will appreciate the subjectivity of logic sometimes and understand it. Even scientific polls sometimes have sampling issues and sufficient spread. Let's not go into all that. Just like people use simple statistical methods (like on a scale of 1 - 10, what do you think about this?) to measure parameters like human thoughts and perceptions, the original analyst has done exactly that and in my opinion (subjective also), his analysis is sufficiently logical and a fair representation of the perception of Nigerians. |
naijaking1:There was no claim to science in the analyst's write-up. I just thought this is a fair (though unscientific) analysis. |
I think this is quite logical and fair. http://www.nigeriavillagesquare.com/articles/guest-articles/a-logicalmathematic-analysis-of-the-top-five-5-presidential-candidates.html |
I live in the US and myself and some of my friends have been organizing mass text messaging bouts. I didn't even know this thread existed and to be honest, I am completely overwhelmed with emotions. This is unbelievable. I love you people and I love Nigeria. We can send unlimited text messages but right now we have about 300,000 GSM numbers. We started sending out since last week but are ramping up this week. If you have more numbers in excel or csv format, please let me know. We plan to increase the frequency to 3 different messages everyday from now to elections. Good job people!!! BB 2011 |
@Kobo: I think you should stop responding to this guys. They are making this ugly. Onlytruth:And what is this supposed to mean? By the way, I am Igbo and what you are saying does not in any way represent my views or the views of millions of peace loving Igbos |
Aye (even though I am many light years late in the vote) |
@OP: Please go and face your studies. Considering the grammar in your post, you are probably still in primary six, or you really have a long way. tonesky:Where is the logic in this piece? |
See crowd in sheer frenzy!!! It's BB 2011!!!!!!!!! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d0ZFEMdxqFA&feature=mfu_in_order&list=UL |

muami:This is why I don't respond to some posts. I dislike tribal, ethnic and regional discussions. I;m from the South-east (one of the oil producing areas by the way) and I'm supporting Buhari. For me, Nigeria is bigger than any one tribe and our conversations should also be well above these regional sentiments. |
muami:Hey Muami, did you expect BON to use the same questions after they had become public knowledge? Give me a break. There is no way to know exactly if GEJ actually got advanced questions. The way the debate-turned address turned out, you'll think the 'new' questions were certainly put together in a hurry. Tell Muani, If other candidates were there at the debate how do you think they would have been able to respond to some of the questions that were obviously prepared for Jonathan? When Saharareporters were bashing the Ya'radua kitchen cabinet and standing for Jonathan, they were the darling of everyone. Now it is junk journalism. I read Saharareporters once in a while and while some of the stuffs are not always exactly right, they are always within the neighborhood of the truth. |
Quote from Nicklee Your relative should calm down. She's really exagerrating the situation; unless she's posted to a cpc stronghold area. Even in the core north where I am at the moment, it's not a Buhari do-or-die affair!
I sincerely hope she was cos I was worried for her. |
Knight1:Wake up man. A relative of mine is a corper in kaduna (close to VP's house). She told me that the whole city is going for Buhari and CPC. Infact she is scared for her life cos she said that if in the wildest dream of the INEC agents, they announce any results that is remotely resembling a majority for PDP, they might have to pay with their lives. It is so hot that she is already saying she will plead ill and stay away from the presidential elections!!! Everywhere in the North, it is Sai Buhari. I'm not surprised at these outcomes. Expect bombshells next week. For these people, it is live free or die hard. The people are speaking with one voice, it is SAI BUHARI. |
kcjazz:There have been ongoing efforts to have this legislation. I have in the past analysed why this has always failed and I figured that until we have a government that is masses-driven, the efforts will come to naught. If Buhari wins by popular support (and not by rigging), then any effort to enact a legislature that will ensure more participation from the masses will surely be supported by the government. In my opinion, if PDP allows diaspora voting (and with the sheer number of Nigerians living abroad), that will be shooting themselves in the leg. |
edicolove:I think most of the people posting here already have their minds made up, so no need to make an effort to convince them otherwise. But your assertion that BB supporters aren't discussing issues is probably an April fools statement. Go back and read their posts. These guys have the most substance in their posts. And this does not exclude the current thread. There is no need to bully and blackmail. Afterall, PDP and their cohorts have the biggest capacity to bully and they are doing so. Was talking to some people in Nigeria and I was told that the amount of money that has been shared in the past few days is mind boggling. This is in a country where people are living in abject poverty. My support (and infact the support of many others) for BB is not borne out of the fact that we think we stand to gain anything directly. My support was declared after I did a very careful analysis of where we are as a nation and how we got here. Then I asked myself an honest question - keeping regional sentiments away (I'm Igbo), who is the best person, based on past records and present circumstances, to handle the situation. In doing this, I thought of Brazil and what Lulu did for them, and I also looked at Malaysia. This was a very sincere conversation with myself. GEJ didn't cut it. Buhari did. As to your statement that a good number of us live abroad, that is true. But we've got families and friends in Nigeria who will listen to us. Vote Buhari 2011. |
Kobojunkie:Thanks Kobo. I was just wondering the same thing. These guys are so backward. This might actually make Buhari more popular. By the way, Buhari's website pointed to the YouTube video just like nairaland also pointed to the video. If they had any complaints, they should have directed it to YouTube and that would have solved the whole problem. Now go to YouTube and you'll still find the videos. Nonsense. Bluelab could have used the popularity of this video to launch their organization. Now they have succeeded in painting themselves black all because of PDP stolen money. |
Nigerians living abroad are rising up and pledging votes for Buhari. Yes, we can't vote but we also know that we are influential. We can influence our families and friends. I didn't know it would be this easy until I started calling and talking to people. I am from the South-East and from the feelers I got, the enlightened ones are voting for Buhari and the not-too-enlightened just need a little push (or convincing) to get them off their ethnic and regional sentiments. Pledge your votes today and start making the calls. see the link below. BB 2011 http://diaspora4buhari.com/ |
kidd211:I think you are being very ridiculous here. A fan did a user generated video for BB and posted on YouTube. It went viral and CPC decided to point to it on their facebook page and their website. Now that is the offense, right (although you and I know for truth that there is hardly anything offensive about this in this digital age). If Bluelab was legit, they would realized that this is an amazing marketing opportunity for them. Can you count how many poeple YouTube has made popular and subsequently richer? But Bluelab is a political organization. They asked for the Ad (don't even want to call it an Ad but a fan generated content) to be removed and that was done. I know there are GEJ loyalists and you might be one of them, so can you explain how a professional organization like Bluelab will create a bizzare website with the name Buharistoleourideas.com? Few days to elections? CPC did nothing wrong because they did not create or sponsor the video. All they did was to point to the video and for goodness sake Nigerians, lets stop acting like morons and backward people. Almost every website in the world at some point points to contents on YouTude. Go to CNN, go to huffington post, go to any website and see if they don't have atleast one video pointing to YouTube. If Bluelab had any issues, they should have reported to YouTube and the video would have been taken down from YouTube. That would have meant that every website pointing to that one video, including nairaland will cease to have access to the content. CPC did what EVERYONE in this current multimedia age dis doing, Morons!!! That's what we are. Imagining Nigerians talking about content violation all of a sudden from a video that has been hosted on YouTube. Moronic thoughts again - no one is asking why the libelous website Buharistoleourideas.com. Nigerians will never cease to amaze me. So people will know, one of the biggest advantages of YouTube is that it presents a platform for one's video to go viral and become a hit. Justin Beiber and Susan Boyle are classic examples. There are tons of people praying everyday that theirs go viral so they can exploit that for positive marketing. I'm sureBluelab has already received its own rewards from PDP, so no worries, let's kill this wonderful marketing opportunity. That is Nigeria for you, corrupt people, selfish and self-centered. All of us are (myself included). |
Delusional Nigerians at it again, BlueLabs ko BlueLabs ni. This has politics written all over it. Buharistoleouridea.com. What a very very unprofessional way to register a complaint. This is PDP at work. Throwing money around and we as always are busy selling our conciences for peanuts. If Bluelabs suspected an infringnment (and mind you this thing is already on facebook and YouTube and they are not crying hell and thunder for that), there are professional ways to seek redress. But the website is just a pity and reeks of cheap blackmail from PDP. |
fesse:Fesse: I thought you've been told to go back to the romance section where you belong. Leave politics for the serious minded. @ All: Majority of BB's supporters are doing this out of patriotism. They want a better Nigeria and are going for it. On the other hand, GEJ's supporters are mainly tribalists, ethnic bigots, superstitious broods. Clueless to say the least. They can't defend a man who has been in power for 12 years on his records. They want to defend him on the things he 'will' do in the future. On a lighter note: Since they have resorted to calling him the 'anointed one', shouldn't these superstitious folks be weary? His luck had Alams dress like a woman and got him disgraced out of him. His 'anointing' was so strong that Yaradua had to die to make way for him. If he becomes president, then what? Will Obama have to die also and the US congress change their constitution and invite to become the US president? We can't run our nation on luck albeit ill-luck |
http://www.saharareporters.com/news-page/jonathans-facebook-friends-critical-his-unkept-pledges This is Jonathan duping his facebook 'friends'. A man that can not keep to his words. |
I saw this in my email today and I think it is hilarious. It's pretty long though, so forgive me for posting everything, _Look beyond the sweet talk and vote right._ __ While walking down the street one day a Corrupt Senator was tragically hit by a car and died. His soul arrives in heaven and is met by St. Peter at the entrance. "Welcome to heaven," says St. Peter. "Before you settle in, it seems there is a problem. We seldom see a high official around these parts, you see, so we're not sure what to do with you." "No problem, just let me in," says the Senator, "Well, I'd like to, but I have orders from the higher ups. What we'll do is have you spend one day in hell and one in heaven. Then you can choose where to spend eternity." "Really?, I've made up my mind. I want to be in heaven," says the Senator. "I'm sorry, but we have our rules." And with that, St. Peter escorts him to the elevator and he goes down, down, down to hell. The doors open and he finds himself in the middle of a green golf course. In the distance is a clubhouse and standing in front of it are all his friends and other politicians who had worked with him. Everyone is very happy and in evening dress. They run to greet him, shake his hand, and reminisce about the good times they had while getting rich at the expense of the people. They played a friendly game of golf and then dine on lobster, caviar and the finest champagne. Also present is the devil, who really is a very friendly guy who is having a good time dancing and telling jokes. They are all having such a good time that before the Senator realizes it, it is time to go. Everyone gives him a hearty farewell and waves while the elevator rises, The elevator goes up, up, up and the door reopens in heaven where St. Peter is waiting for him, "Now it's time to visit heaven, " So, 24 hours passed with the Senator joining a group of contented souls moving from cloud to cloud, playing the harp and singing. They have a good time and, before he realizes it, the 24 hours have gone by and St. Peter returns. "Well, then, you've spent a day in hell and another in heaven. Now choose your eternity." The Senator reflects for a minute, then he answers: "Well, I would never have said it before, I mean heaven has been delightful, but I think I would be better off in hell." So St. Peter escorts him to the elevator and he goes down, down, down to hell, Now the doors of the elevator open and he's in the middle of a barren land covered with waste and garbage. He sees all his friends, dressed in rags, picking up the trash and putting it in black bags as more trash falls from above. The devil comes over to him and puts his arm around his shoulders. "I don't understand," stammers the Senator. "Yesterday I was here and there was a golf course and clubhouse, and we ate lobster and caviar, drank champagne, and danced and had a great time. Now there's just a wasteland full of garbage and my friends look miserable. What happened?" The devil smiles at him and says, "Yesterday WE were campaigning. Today, YOU voted, " Vote wisely in the 2011 Elections! By the way, don't forget to vote Buhari/Bakare!!!

aletheia:Ok Aletheia: Now I can see where you are headed and why you have also avoided the glaring implication of GEJ's words. For the last time (cos I think we are overbeating this), there is an inherent implication in GEJ's words when he said that his kids are in Nigeria. For your information, the children of most governors, deputy governors and not surprisingly, the VP and the president, who are still minors (or still in secondary school) are mostly in Nigeria. This is because they are actually safer in Nigeria (where they have the routine of security aides) tha,n in say, the UK where some junkie can come off the street and shoot them for some few dollars or pounds. So it is not a big deal really to say that your kids (minors) are all in Nigeria. But in trying to spin this for his political good, he is implying that his kids share the same circumstances as other ordinary Nigerian kids. He is trying to play his kids sojourn in Nigeria as a political card and in doing so has made that information fair game. I still want to know if his kids are attending public schools. If he is reposing so much confidence in the educational system that he has built over the past 12 years as DG, G, VP and P, then it is only reasonable that he send his kids to public schools. Again, I am even more concerned about their tertiary education. GEJ was a lecturer before luck (albeit ill-luck on the part of his former immediate bosses) brought him this far. Has he done enough for university education in Nigeria to mandate his own children to study in one of our 'great' universities? Again, by trying to use his kids as a political tool to whip emotional and psychological support, he has made the situation fair game and every scrutiny is in order. I must commend your civility too. I have noticed a lack of this in many posts and this is quite disturbing. |
Lol, chei, ,wonders shall never end. This junk website? |
^^^ The point is this: By saying his kids are in Nigeria, GEJ was implying that they are in Nigeria under the same circumstances as the people he is asking to vote for him. That is deceptive. If his kids will be shipped to England (that is where they all go) for undergrad., then all his talk is arrant nonsense and anyone that believes him should feel sorry for himself. The same goes for whatever primary and secondary schools they are attending. |
efisher:Or would you rather bank with an institution where Bode George is a general manager, Tony Anenih is the CEO, OBJ is the board chair? Where IBB's wealth is stashed and protected? That one na Ponzi scheme Oo!!! Mai Suya:I couldn't have said it any better - little wonder people will rather bank with registered treasury offenders than bank with an institution that is known all over the country for INTEGRITY |
aisha2:Thanks Aisha2 for clarifying this. I'll like to know if GEJ's kids are in public schools. Also will he commit to sending them to Nigerian Universities? |
chamber2:Thanks for being civil. Continuing in your line of thought, I hope you remember that Buhari was also only in office for 1 yr and 8 months. GEJ was VP for 3 years and president for 1 year. Are we trying to discount GEJ's 3 years as VP as nothing? Was he just a figure head VP, making little contributions then? I beg to disagree that we need to compare GEJ's 1 year as president with Buhari's unless GEJ is about to tell us that he was a FAILURE as a VP. Ok, even if we decide to compare the two during the time period that they were both heads of state; Buhari will still beat GEJ hands down. Remember Buhari came in during an oil crisis when the crude oil price was very very low and GEJ has seen record oil prices. Look at their achievements and go figure.
