The daughter of a popular South African pastor, yesterday, committed suicide by jumping in front of a train after a video of her in a party with another girl and a male leaked on Whatsapp. The girl, Lerato Chauke, whose father is a prominent Pretoria Pastor could not take the shame after the video started to trend on Whatsapp. In the 5 min video, Lerato is seen being intimate with an unidentified girl whilst the male hit her from behind. The action goes back and forth with Lerato’s ecstatic screams filling up the room. A church member who spoke on condition of anonymity revealed how Lerato lived a double life. He said, “Lerato was her father’s pride, she was in the church choir and would always take the time to preach in church and was an inspiration to the youths. The video however ruined her and she felt she had no option but to take her own life. Her father, Pastor Chauke could not be reached for comment as his phone has been switched off since the incident happened. A progressing nation in a retrogressive country. |
More information these countries: BENIN: Benin , a country in West Africa has two capital cities, Port-Novo and Cotonou. In Benin, Porto-Novo has always been the official capital, even back when Benin was a French colony. Despite this, Cotonou has always been the city that has housed the country's government. This trend of these two cities playing these roles has continued even after Benin achieved its independence in 1970. BOLIVIA: The reason that Bolivia has two capitals cities goes back to the Federal Revolution of 1899. The Liberal Party was mostly backed by tin mine families in La Paz, while the ruling conservative party was mostly backed by silver mine families in Sucre. The Liberals overthrew the Conservatives, and one of their demands was to move the official capital to La Paz. Eventually, there was an agreement to keep the official capital in Sucre, while La Paz would get more power by being where the executive and legislative seats of the government would be located. CHILE: The reason that Chile has two capitals is fairly recent and goes back to the end of the reign of dictator and president Augusto Pinochet. Santiago has always been the official capital of Chile, going all the way back to colonial times. Towards the end of Pinochet's regime in 1990, it was decided to move the National Congress of Chile from Santiago to the city of Valparaiso both as a gesture of decentralization and an effort to appease the public to stay in power. GEORGIA: The reason that Georgia has two capital cities is that it can distribute its government's functions between the two cities and also honor the past of both the cities. The city of Tbilisi is the official capital of the country, and it is here where the executive functions of the government are performed. The city of Kutaisi, on the other hand, is the legislative capital of the government. The Parliament of Georgia is also located here. Both Kutaisi and Tbilisi have storied pasts as being the capitals of past kingdoms and dynasties that have come and gone in Georgia's past, which is why they are both honored by having a role in the government. HONDURAS: Tegucigalpa had been the capital of Honduras since 1880 when it was designated as the capital. The catalyst for Honduras' change from a single capital to a two capital country then started in 1937. That year the 1936 Honduran Constitution was changed to combine the capital of Tegucigalpa and its sister city of Comayagüela into a Central District. In 1982 when Honduras's current constitution was established it was decreed that the Municipality of the Central District would serve as the capital, meaning that both cities where now the capital since they made up the Central District. IVORY COAST(COTE IVOIRE): The city of Abidjan was declared the capital of the Ivory Coast in 1933 when it was still under French rule as a colony and stayed the capital after the country became independent. However, the reason that the Ivory Coast has two capitals is fairly recent and is associated with the country's first president. After twenty-three years in office, President Félix Houphouët-Boigny decided to move the official capital of the country from Abidjan to his hometown of Yamoussoukro. Houphouët-Boigny did this to spur development in the center of the country and to uplift his hometown. Despite this change, most of the embassies and government institutions remain in Abidjan. MALAYSIA: The reason that Malaysia has two capitals is recent and has to do with overcrowding and political congestion in the official capital of Kuala Lumpur. The government of Malaysia realized that this was a problem and decided to take action. They started working on designing a planned city to specifically handle the government's federal level administrative functions. The city of Putrajaya was established in 1995 and by 1999 was ready for the seat of government and the judiciary to move to the city. MONTENEGRO: The reason that Montenegro has two capitals is because it is a way to honor its past history. Podgorica is the official capital of Montenegro and where all of the country's government functions take place. The city of Cetinje has the honor of having the status of being the historical capital of the country. This is to honor Cetinje's role as the former capital of Montenegro and as the cultural center of the country. NETHERLANDS: Unlike most countries on this list the Netherlands has always had two capitals. Amsterdam has been the official and constitutionally mandated capital of the country since 1814 when the new kingdom of the country was formed following freedom from French rule. However, The Hague has been the seat of basically all government functions for the country since 1588, only some years after the establishment of the Republic of the United Netherlands. The Dutch have always had a separate official capital and a capital for government functions before most other countries though to try this. SOUTH AFRICA: The reason that South Africa is the only country in the world with three different official capitals goes back to the 1910 unification of South Africa. At this point in time the four founding provinces of South Africa, Cape Colony, Orange River Colony, Transvaal Colony and Natal Colony, could not decide a capital city that could be shared by all. They eventually came to an agreement where they would each have a capital: Cape Colony (Cape Town), Orange River Colony (Bloemfontein) and Transvaal Colony (Pretoria). Each of these capitals would administrate a different branch of the government. The capital city of the Natal Colony, Pietermaritzburg, was given financial compensation as part of the agreement for not being a capital. SOUTH KOREA: South Korea is the most recent country on the list to adopt having two capitals. Seoul has been the official capital of South Korea even back in historical times but in 2003 the government started looking at moving some government functions elsewhere to reduce political congestion. After some political back and forth it was agreed in 2007 that a new special administrative district would be created to house these government functions. Finally in 2012 Sejong City was officially opened to the administrative capital of the country and many government agencies have relocated there. SRI LANKA: A few decades after gaining its independence, the government of Sri Lanka came to the conclusion that the capital of Colombo became too political congested. In 1977 the government decided on moving the national legislature to a suburb of Colombo, Sri Jayawardenepura Kotte. A few years later in 1982 the country's Parliament moved to Sri Jayawardenepura Kotte, and it has since become the legislative capital. SWAZILAND: Swaziland has always had two capitals. The city of Lobamba has always been considered the traditional seat of the kingdom and is where the rulers of the country live. It is also the city where the countries Parliament meets. Mbabne is the administrative capital of the country that handles all of the other government functions outside of Parliament. TANZANIA: Prior to 1973 Dar es Salaam was the official capital of the country of Tanzania . However, that year the government decided to move the capital from Dar es Salaam to the city of Dodoma due to its centralized location. Despite this change the National Assembly delayed moving to Dodoma until 1996 and most of the government and embassies stay in Dar es Salaam instead of moving to Dodoma. WESTERN SAHARA: Western Sahara has two capitals due to its complicated status as a disputed territory between the country of Morocco and the partially recognized state of Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic, who both claim Western Sahara as their land. The city of Laayoune is the capital of the Laâyoune-Sakia El Hamra region that is claimed by Morocco and is under the supervision of the United Nations. Tifariti is the capital of the proclaimed Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic since their government moved there in 2011 from their previous capital of Bir Lehlou. |
There are 15 countries in the world that have more than 1 capital city. Out of this 15, most of them have 2 capitals. Only South Africa has 3 capitals, thus: PRETORIA : administrative and executive capital CAPE TOWN : legislative capital BLOEMFONTEIN : judicial capital The other countries with more than one capital cities are: 1 Benin: Cotonou and Porto-Novo 2 Bolivia: La Paz and Sucre 3 Chile: Santiago and Valparaiso 4 Georgia: Kutaisi and Tbilisi 5 Honduras: Comayaguela and Tegucigalpa 6 Ivory Coast: Abidjan and Yamoussoukro 7 Malaysia: Kuala Lumpur and Putrajaya 8 Montenegro: Cetinje and Podgorica 9 Netherlands: Amsterdam and The Hague 10 South Korea: Sejong City and Seoul 11 Sri Lanka: Colombo and Kotte 12 Swaziland: Lobamba and Mbabane 13 Tanzania: Dar es Salaam and Dodoma 14 Western Sahara: (Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic Laayoune and Tifariti Read more at: https://www.worldatlas.com/articles/which-countries-have-two-or-more-capital-cities.html

- Jefferson Louis can easily be called the journeyman footballer as he has played for an astonishing 36 club in a career span that lasted for 21 years - Louis, who plays as a striker has played in England lower division sides like Wrexham, Oxford United and Lincoln City - But he admitted that his proudest moment is playing against Arsenal in the 3rd round of the FA Cup. The 38-year-old has already played for two sides this season, Banbury United and Chesham United and is currently looking for another club. This astonishing feat makes him the ultimate journeyman, usurping legendary goalkeeper John Burridge who played for 29 different clubs. Speaking to Telegraph in 2014, Louis said: "It's like I'm cursed. “When I signed for Wrexham, (Manager) Dean Saunders said: ‘I wish I had you when you was young. You’d be a Premiership player now.’ "For them to say this makes me think, wow. Something went wrong for me, innit?” He has previously admitted that his journeyman tag has made it difficult for managers to trust him when it comes to giving him a fair crack. A 25-year old man, Felix Simon, who worked as a gateman to a retired military personnel has narrated how he led his friends to rob and kill his boss, Mrs. Vivian Rafatu Ajibua aged 61. The incident happened at Ugiagbe Street, Off Ogbonmwan Street, Off Ugbor Road, Government Reservation Area. Checks showed that other landlords in the area have chased their security guard away after the incident. Felix had raised alarm on January 28, 2018 at about 3am that a mysterious fire had engulfed his boss’s apartment. Sympathizers rushed to put out the fire and Mrs. Ajibua, a widow was found dead with severe burnt on her body inside her bedroom. The neighbours called the police and relatives who took her corpse to a mortuary and luck ran out of Felix when he was seen throwing his belongings and household items of his late boss over the fence to a nearby uncompleted building. He was caught as he attempted to flee and handed over to the police. It was during interrogations by the police that Felix opened up on how he recruited one Peter Zachariah and eight other gatemen in the area to commit the crime. Felix claimed that he hailed from Mada village in Igon local government area of Nasarawa State and was employed seven months ago. He said it was one Musa and Isah who are now on the run that killed his boss inside her room. The suspect said Musa and Idah worked as gatemen in the building opposite his madam’s house and they usually help his boss with some house work. He stated that they entered the apartment at about 3am after he opened the gate for them adding that he attempted to flee because of fear. “When my madam was not in the house they came and told me that they want to rob madam. I told them that madam was not at home. They left and returned in the night. Musa just slapped my face and told me to sit by the gate as they entered the house. “After some minutes they left. Then I saw fire inside the house. I started shouting for help. “I didn’t know they will kill her. I don’t know what came over me. This is evil”. It was learnt that the gang had earlier cut the burglary proof at the second door to the woman’s apartment while she was away during the day. Felix said he told the gang the best time to enter the house was when his late boss was cooking at about 3am because that was the time electricity is supplied to the area Police sources said Musa and Isah from Iyibadu in Nasarawa State attacked and killed the woman after which they informed Felix. After thinking on how to cover their deed, Felix was said to have told them to use the petrol reserved for generator in the house to burn the woman’s corpse to give the impression that she died from the fire incident. State Commissioner of Police, Johnson Kokumo said the suspects would be arraigned for robbery murder and arson.

It was Angelikque Sutton’s wedding day and she was on her way to the Bronx Courthouse in New York. She was about to marry her boyfriend of eight years, Patrick Bradley, and start a new phase of their lives together. Angelikque, 22, was eight and a half months pregnant and, with their firstbaby coming in a matter of weeks, the couple wanted to be married before becoming parents. They’d booked a slot for a simple civil ceremony on 20 November 2015. Angelikque, the daughter of a bishop, had a baby register on a gifting website. On it, she’d announced she was having a baby girl, due on 2 December. But she wasn’t the only one making plans to welcome a daughter. An old school friend had recently reconnected with Angelikque on social media. Ashleigh Wade, 22, had made an effort to get in touch with her former friend to let her know she was pregnant too – and was also due to have a girl around the same time. They were both busy decorating nurseries and stocking up on baby clothes and nappies. Having something in common created a close bond between them. Ashleigh and her boyfriend Andrew Praylow, 27, had been posting baby scan pictures on social media and chatting to neighbours about their imminent arrival. Dad-to-be Andrew said the baby was due on 15 November, and when the date came and went, he commented that she ‘wasn’t ready to come out yet lol’. On the morning of Angelikque’s wedding, Ashleigh said she had a wedding gift for her and asked the bride-to-be to stop by on the way to the civil ceremony. But Angelikque would never make it to the courthouse where Patrick was patiently waiting. When Angelikque arrived at Ashleigh’s home, her ‘friend’ attacked her with a paring knife. It turned out that Ashleigh wasn’t pregnant at all – she’d been lying to everyone and, with her due date having been and gone, she was about to be found out. But not if she could find a baby girl to pass off as her own. As a terrified Angelikque fought for her life and the life of her unborn baby, Ashleigh slit her throat, cutting her larynx so she couldn’t scream for help. Angelikque was bleeding to death when Ashleigh sliced into her abdomen and removed her uterus. Cutting it open, she took the baby out and discarded the womb on the bathroom floor. Ashleigh cleaned up some of the blood and made a bottle of milk for the baby girl – who incredibly survived her savage birth. Then Ashleigh called her boyfriend. ‘I’ve done something really bad,’ she admitted. ‘I’ve just had a baby. But I think I’ve killed someone.’ When Andrew arrived, he found his girlfriend sat cradling a baby by the blood-drenched body of her friend. A placenta and a knife were next to her on the floor. The baby is mine,’ she told him. Stunned, he scooped up the baby and called the police before waiting outside. He believed the baby was his – and that Ashleigh had given birth at the crime scene. When police arrived, they found blood smeared over staircases and doorways leading to the body of Angelikque. There was nothing they could do to save her, and she was pronounced dead. Ashleigh insisted the newborn girl was hers. ‘It’s my baby!’ she shouted. But she confessed she’d stabbed Angelikque ‘as many times as she could’. Web of lies Patrick was alerted and rushed to the hospital to find out his fiancée was dead and his baby girl, later named Jenasis, was being claimed by another woman. Amazingly, the 8lb 2oz baby was healthy with just a small knife wound on her thigh. When questioned, Ashleigh told police that she’d got into an argument with her friend after they’d started ‘talking about the past’. She said that Angelikque had lunged at her with a knife and she’d wrestled the blade off her before stabbing her repeatedly in self-defence. Ashleigh claimed that when she realised the wounds were fatal, she’d slashed open Angelikque’s belly to ‘save the baby’. It became clear to investigators that Ashleigh had killed Angelikque to steal her baby. After being examined, doctors determined that Ashleigh hadn’t given birth and, in fact, had not even been pregnant. Her quest for a child had been going on for years. She’d told family she’d had a baby in 2014, but it had died shortly after being born – there was no evidence that was true. Her apartment was full of baby clothes folded into neat piles, furnished with a changing table and a crib. Nappies and milk filled the cupboards – all waiting for a baby. One she would have to steal. Her story had been so convincing that even boyfriend Andrew had fallen for it. In 2017, Ashleigh pleaded not guilty to first-degree murder and the two-week trial started. As the jurors heard the shocking accusations, they gasped as Ashleigh wept. It seemed unthinkable that someone could go to such lengths. Despite not using mental illness as a defence, her lawyers said that Ashleigh had suffered a lifetime of depression, and although she’d lied to everyone about being pregnant, she didn’t necessarily plan to steal Angelikque’s baby, because she had no getaway plan. ‘If the point of the killing was to get to the baby, what was the end game? What was the escape plan?’ they said. ‘911 was called multiple times, and she waited outside. All of this goes to a lack of preplanning.’ Ashleigh continued to claim that she’d ‘rescued’ Jenasis, and that when she was holding her it felt like that baby could be hers. ‘Holding her felt right and I believed that that little girl was mine,’ she said. Her defence said she’d simply lost control during an ‘extreme emotional disturbance’. She’d snapped as Angelikque reminded her of everything she had – everything Ashleigh wanted. Brutal and calculated But the prosecution said the attack was brutal and calculated. Ashleigh had everything she needed apart from a baby, and reconnecting with Angelikque was all part of the plan. She’d even deliberately avoided stabbing Angelikque’s abdomen because the baby was her motive and she didn’t want it harmed. ‘The defendant attacked Ms Sutton by stabbing and slashing her repeatedly in the face and neck,’ they said. ‘The defendant cut Ms Sutton’s larynx – her voice box. Ms Sutton could not scream, could not say a word. She cut her major blood vessels. What the defendant did to her next is almost unspeakable.’ Jurors were forced to view extremely graphic evidence photos. Images of Angelikque’s bloody body, close-ups of her slashed throat. At one point, a female juror fainted and the court had to be cleared while she received medical attention. Ashleigh’s boyfriend took the stand and said he didn’t question the pregnancy because Ashleigh’s stomach was growing and he believed he’d ‘felt the baby’. When he’d arrived at the crime scene, he believed the baby girl was his and was devastated to discover he’d been deceived. In October, Ashleigh was found guilty of second-degree murder and kidnapping, and she sobbed uncontrollably as she was taken away. When she was sentenced to a minimum of 40 years in prison, Ashleigh continued to cry and shake, realising she may spend her whole life behind bars. ‘I’m sorry for hurting so many people,’ she said. ‘I wish I knew why. I wish I understood it and I don’t… I’m so sorry.’ Angelikque’s loved ones called her sentence ‘justice’ for the woman they said was beautiful and had the sweetest soul. Today Jenasis is a bright, happy toddler being cared for by her dad. For now, she lives her life blissfully unaware about the horrific circumstances surrounding her birth. But one day she’ll discover she almost didn’t make it into this world, because Ashleigh so desperately wanted to take Angelikque’s place. Source: The Mirror

The 17-year-old marriage of Adewole Bankole and Grace Bankole has been dissolved by the Oja Oba/Mapo Court C Customary Court, Mapo, Ibadan, Oyo State over alleged act of stubbornness, disregard and disobedience regularly displayed by the defendant. According to Nigerian Tribune, Adewole had dragged his wife to court pleading that it separated him and his wife who according to him was stubborn, disobedient and always rubbing shoulders with him in the home. He added that she was always fighting him. The defendant refused to show up in court after being served a court hearing twice. Giving his judgment after he had listened to the plaintiff, the court president, Chief Ademola Odunade observed that his love for his wife had waned. Adewole stated thus while giving his judgment: ”My lord, I pray the court to deliver me from the bondage I led myself into called marriage. I’ve known no peace or rest of mind since I entered into it 17 years ago. “I’m married to a woman who is as stubborn as a goat. She insists on having her way always. “My wife has no regard for me and disrespects me every time. She readily flouts my orders. I noticed she was moving with politicians at the grassroots level and warned her against joining politics but she disobeyed me and went into it fully. “Any time I try to show my displeasure over an issue, she turns it into a fight. She will shout and humiliate me before our children and neighbours. “My lord, my wife curses me any time we are having s*x and this reduces my libido. I’m fed up with her, please separate us.” Source: Nigerian Tribune |

Friends, I intend to upgrade to a new car and I need a direct tokunbo car within a budget of 1.5m or 1.6m. Toyota corrola 2005/2005 or Camry 2004/2005 in my mind. But to get a good tokunbo Corrola, one must be ready with a budget of 1.8m or 2million naira. And for Toyota Camry 2004/2005, my fear is its high cost of its engine in case the engine breaks down anytime. I currently drive Nissan Primera 1998/1999 which i bought as tokunbo in 2014 and still working perfectly with current mileage at 162k plus. The Nissan is at par with Toyota Camry 1999/2000, so those models are out of it. Which car with the following attributes can I get within my budget? * the car must be within 2004-2007 model * fuel economical and affordable to maintain (parts) * foglights and daylight on. * back hood * good AC * Above all, because of the poor nature of the road of my location, I would prefer Toyota product or tough car brand. Thanks |
