My issue with your wife's explanation is; how on earth was it possible for the same mistake to be made during registration of common entrance, WASSCE ,NECO.
We know that students are mandated to be be physically present during exam registrations.

The question is
If the OP was aware that the wife is 6yrs older, would he got married to her?
Will the 6 extra yrs now make the wife older than the hubby? If so, what is OP's believe in getting married to an older woman?
Lastly, why will the wife lie to her hubby about her age? Could it be that she knew that he would not wife her, or she was thinking that is actually nothing to worry about?

Until you are in OP shoes, I don't think you are in position to answer these questions which means you have no right to criticize OP for getting angry.
He has every right to be upset to discover that his lie has been lying to her about her age.
Are we even sure that it's only the age that the wife lied about?
OP please just be careful on how you handle this and am sure divorce is not the best. Try and find out why she did such(that is if she lied actually) but in my own Waec certificate, their is also a mistake on my date of birth though it's on the day not on the year.

The fact that the wife didn't inform the OP herself of her true age but he stumbled upon it is quite bad. If I were the OP, I would be thinking about what other lies she may have told that I'm yet to find out.

Someone once said, trust is like paper once it's crumpled can never be made straight again. So I can understand if the OP's marriage will experience trust issues. The wife in question have lot of work to do...not the OP. Oga OP, calm down, divorcing her will be a harsh decision o. Think of your kids, you don't want them growing up without their mom. So chillax...everyone makes mistakes, w e just need someone to correct 'em.

Based on some advices, I would want to know if it is possible to apply to WAEC or NECO for correction of personal data like date of birth, which was misakenly put on a Secondary School Certificate? If it is possible, how does one go about it?

Thanks very much@chuskbogus2001. The op, has an issue and is seeking for advice. Instead of providing advice the alphas and omegas in relationship matters on nairaland are calling the op names for discovering and feeling bad about the lie his wife told him.

Lies on any grounds in marriage are bound to erode trust between couples and eventually destroy any marriage's foundation.

@Op, please forgive your wife. Calm yourself down and have a tete-a-tete with your wife, stating how you feel about it. You cannot throw away a marriage that has been going on fine before the issue of age came up because of age. Moreso, marriage is more than age. So forgive her and shelve the idea of divorce.
