PoliticsNDDC MD Nsima Ekere To Resign Awaits President Buhari Approval by Nigerdcritics(op): 1:26pm On Aug 30, 2018
An investigations has revealed that Obong Nsima Ekere the MD Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) has transmitted a resignation letter from office to the Presidency. The Akwa Ibom State-born politician has abandoned his duties when there has been no confirmation of his resignation by President Muhammadu Buhari.

The delay in getting the President’s nod must have made Obong Nsima Ekere to be contacting some of his political godfathers including the Transportation Minister Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi and now Obong Godswill Obot Akpabio to help him get his resignation letter accepted earlier enough by President Muhammadu Buhari so that he can make formal declaration of his intention to run for Akwa Ibom Governorship under All Progressive Congress-APC.

Those in the know are speculating that contractors and high profile business men and women who had mega million naira business deals with the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer are now living in suspense as their fate with several Banks which advanced financial facilities for execution of legacy projects across the Niger Delta States may now wait until the appointment of Acting Managing Director.
The reasons behind the absence of Obong Nsima Ekere from office may not be unconnected with his intense politicking and lobbying activities at Uyo the Capital city of Akwa Ibom, Abuja, and in diaspora as immediately Obong Godswill Obot Akpabio finished his ‘Uncommon Defection’ declaration, Nsima Ekere traveled to the United States of America-USA for consultations and advancement of his Governorship bid. Upon his return he avoided stepping into his NDDC head quarters office where there are mountains of untreated confidential files of which he has never allowed anyone to treat in his absent.

It is on the strength of this confusion that the month of September has been slated by Obong Nsima Ekere to finally take a bow out of NDDC, and face his political future at Akwa Ibom State. No one knows the actual date he has chosen for formal declaration ceremony. As that done by the incumbent governor Udom Emmanuel must have been done in a hurry to counter the effect of the ‘Uncommon Defection’ of his political godfather Obong Godswill Akpabio.

In the light of the on-going political consultation Nsima Ekere seems to have upper standing to being sworn in on May 29th, 2019 as the executive Governor of Akwa Ibom State certainly due to the fact that the incumbent governor Udom Emmanuel has performed below average in the provision of infrastructure and other democratic dividends to the people of Akwa Ibom State despite huge revenue allocated to the crude oil and Gas rich littoral State in Nigeria

NDDC has become a fraud
PoliticsProf. Charles Q. Dokubo A Mistake Of President Muhammed Buhari's Administration. by Nigerdcritics(op): 12:18pm On Aug 22, 2018
There are clear indications that the system of operation of Prof. Dokubo will in no time trigger very serious hostilities in the Niger Delta Region. The man ignores the actual stakeholders in the region and creates imaginary stakeholders through which he syphons the Budget of the Presidential Amnesty Programme, hence the programme is in its worse state since its creation.

Just about three (3) weeks ago, Prof. Dokubo met with a group of charlatans who claimed and came in the name of Niger Delta Avengers. He met them in a Hotel Room at Ibeto Hotel in the Apo area of Abuja, where he gave six (6) of the thirty-two million (32,000.000) Naira, and signed three (3) choice jobs for them. This idiotic mistake of Prof. Dokubo is generation several reactions and currently hitting the polity, as the second in command of the FAKE avengers has been threatening hell claiming that he was shortchanged in the 32 million naira when indeed he was the originator of the idea.

The so-called meeting has also elicited concerns in the camp of the actual Avengers from where several statements have been issued, adding that Prof. Dokubo and all those impostors will pay a hefty price for dragging the name of Avengers in the mud, a group which has since punctuated hostilities after extracting commitments from Leaders of the region over promises of the Federal Government to develop their region.

In the same manner, Dokubo has foolishly patronised FAKE stakeholders across board, which has now warranted groups to demand unreserved written apologies in at least 3 national tabloids with an undertaking of according due respect to the genuine leaders of the struggles or take full responsibility for the destruction of oil facilities after 7 days should he fail or act confuse and refuse to make the said publication and undertaking.

Stakeholders have also called on the National Security Adviser, to without delay dissociate himself from Pro. Dokubo for his own good and for the peace of the country, adding that they only respect him but not afraid of him, as Dokubo tend to be making fake calls to him all the time, meanwhile investigations has revealed that those calls are actually to a specific major who is just an aide in the office of the NSA.

One of the very few mistakes of President Muhammad Buhari, as a matter of fact, is a choice he made about some six (6) months ago, with the appointment of Pro. Charles Quaker Dokubo as Coordinator of the Niger Delta Presidential Amnesty Programme.

President Buhari, by all means, has to put his eyes on the ground concerning the day to day activities of Prof. Dokubo. The reason is that Prof. Dokubo has demonstrated clearly and at many times that his mission is to disgrace the President, if that is not true then he would only be exonerated and be passed as an incompetent man who is inadvertently rubbing mud on the good name of President Buhari.

While we cannot directly blame Mr President for the messy activities of a misfit Professor, especially knowing that President Buhari did not know Prof. Dokubo before his appointment and still does not recognize him as their characters are way apart from each other, while Buhari is an apostle of integrity and honesty, Prof. Dokubo is a promoter of corruption, a giver and receiver of bribe and an embodiment confusion, hence he is always looking lost all the time in the office without knowing his left from his right.

Prof. Dokubo is a dreamer and an impostor. Those who saw his appointment letter, said he it was Coordinator of Presidential Amnesty Programme, and nothing more, however, Dokubo has been parading himself as a Special Adviser to the President on Niger Delta matters and has signed millions of document in that guise when he saw his appointment letter and literate enough to know the difference.

It must be added that the people of Niger Delta are naturally vocal people and always try to express and address their displeasure over activities that are likely to cause the breach of the peace in the region. There have been several occasions where Dokubo has made terrible and unforced blunders, leaving the impression that President Buhari is a wicked leader as the impression is that he is working and acting on the orders of the President.

It is no longer news that instead of addressing issues when brought to his notice, he uses the name of Brig. Gen. Babangida Monguno, rtd. The National Security Adviser (NSA) to Mr President, to fuse timidity into people, saying things like "the NSA will arrest you" "I will call the NSA" etc. These are the regular words on the lips of Dokubo, and some of us who know the NSA is aware that he cannot be directly involved with such a man with a charter like Dokubo.

The activities of Dokubo, which are just too much to mention ranges from the refusal to pay regular stipends to persons on the Amnesty programme, borrowing money from contractors to do worthless programmes in the amnesty office, and collecting of kickbacks from contractors.

We see danger as long as Prof. Dokubo remains in that office.

No it has not been scrapped, it just that we have thieves when are leading the board.
They take 10% for every payment they make in NDDC but for scholarship its not possible because its the only genuine thing NDDC does. Thats why it took them 1yr 8months to pay the first one. and now they have stayed in office going to 3 years without awarding scholarships. They will be sacked in july and the next board hopefully will bring it back.
Jaybadestboy:
I honestly think the nddc foregin scholarship has been scrapped permanently.

I know it it difficult to believe, but the truth is that the Commission has codedly cancelled the scholarship. I was devastated when I heard the news from a very top source at the commission. I also wrote the test and did the oral interview, so I was shocked to learn the news. The commission has not come out to tell us this because they know the backlash they will receive. I got the info more than two weeks ago, but out of respect for our feelings and the hardwork of some people here trying to ensure that the list is published, I decided to keep mute.

Now, I am not asking you guys to give up. Rather, you guys can seize the opportunity and rechannel your demands. How do you do that? Accuse NDDC of cancelling the scholarship, and hold them to account till they publish it. All these we are waiting for payment and so on will not work. Those NDDC guys are wicked.

Finally, start now to make plans for alternative funding. Do not depend on NDDC. May God help us.
STOP THOSE LIES, IF YOU HAVE FAILED IN THE PROCESS OF INTERVIEW AND EXAMS DON'T KILL OTHER SCHOLARS JOY/HOPE. ASK YOURSELF WHY THEY WILL CANCEL, AND THE FUNDS AND MAN HOURS THEY HAVE SPEND IN THE PROCESS. TAKE YOUR FRUSTRATION AND MOVE SOMEWHERE ELSE. TRULY THE BOARD MEMBERS ARE IDIOTS BUT THEY DON'T EVEN HAVE THE GUTS OR POWER TO CANCEL IT. THE WORSE THEY CAN DO IS DELAY.

At this point I don't know what to believe anymore. Mrs Seledi (scholarship coordinator) has always been very cautious in responding to my previous queries on payments - you know, with the same sound bites 'awaiting approval.' However, this time she sounds a bit more assured, hence my hope; but gosh, we've been April-fooled before so I am not surprised it's gone back to the waiting game at this point. I did hear, but I honestly cannot verify the source so please don't take my word for it - that payments should reflect by month end (this month end). Let's see what happens but I'm on the MD's case. He can't flaunt around as if they are making progress and get away with it. Transparency my foot (you need to see how he pats himself on their 'so-called' achievements on the website, it's appalling).
I said it before now, that payment is been held by MD & EDFA Both of them are criminals and we have never seen their type as board members before

Payments for students fees can be done in just a day if the criminals who run the NDDC board want to do it. I was very sure the day I said the next week these payments were coming through, however with the current board you can not be sure. It looks like they have someone who blocks the true story of this saga to get to the President, the Vice President has intervened but yet these criminals for some reasons are bent on not making payments
The process of payment have been finished but for some reasons the EDFA and the MD are holding it back.

It’s a pity

Cursing and abusing people wouldn't make the list come out instantly. You think it has been successful over the years because people were smiling home with billions of naira ripped off from your tuitions and upkeep. When the board are certain that all is set the list will come out.
Go and tell your benefactor he is a thief, EFCC has all the details and evidence but because they are not transparent Nsima is free to steal more. NDDC is corrupt no doubt but this board has upgraded corruption.

I have been keenly going through all comments on this thread. Some of you fight and abusing each other here will that change when NDDC will bring out the list. #Pauseandthink.

NDDC is an agency under the constitution of Nigeria, and reserves every right to discharge its duties as guided under the law. The MD/CEO has uncovered an internal fraud perpetuated over the years using the cover of this scholarship scheme and wants to put it right, and so many of you here are crying foul about it.

Which is better? NDDC brings out the list and you become stranded over there or accept the delay and wait for things to be set right and get all funds accrued before leaving.

We should join hands and do the needful.
My friend go and sit down, if NSIMA EKERE sent you here, go and tell him that we say he will not become governor but will end in jail. The MD and this board will go down as one of the worse in the history of NDDC. Shame on Buhari and his fraudulent anti corruption fight. Go and ask Nsima Ekere what he used the first 500 million he stole just 4 days in office. Let them keep deceiving themselves. They are able to detect fraud in scholarship that has been successful over the years without students complaining but for 1yr and students have been stranded. God punish you and you backers.
