Uyo Residence Fall-Out with INELS Mall/Lounge Over Mal-treatment of Indigenes & Employees

Few days ago, social media in Akwa Ibom was agog with Uyo Residence led by a top AkwaCross Comedian, Sir James over the ill-treatment Akwa Ibom Indigenes and staff of a popular mall are subjected to by the CEO of INEL Mall/Loungh located in the heart of Uyo, Akwa Ibom State.

Since the outburst, many Revelations over the ill-treatment and mal-practices going on at the mall with the MD spearheading the evil acts gave manifested.

Accusations like;
*Racism against Akwa Ibom Indigenes even in Akwa Ibom State.
*Abuse of Human rights by demanding sex from female staff before your salary can be delivered to you.
*Harrassments of customers who don't strictly adhere to the Mall's rules.
*Involvement in ritual activities to boost it's businesses.
*Planned a Dance Competition, sold out forms for huge amount but never held the competition.

These and many more are the accusations and counter accusations laid against the management of INELS lounge in a very interesting social media outburst.

From information gathered so far, top government personnel's have weight into the matter by assuring Indigenes that the state Government will do everything withing it's power to protect their rights.

Responding to the issue, the Special Assistance to the Governor on Grassroot Mobilization, Mr Diana-Abasi Nana Udom wrote and I quote;

"My attention and that of many others has been drawn to the above subject matter.Let me assure Akwa Ibomites that i have gotten in touch with the necessary authourities of the State Government and will as a matter of urgency look into the complains of our people as regards the maltreatment of Akwa Ibomites who worked with the company as employees with special emphasis on DELIBERATE non~payment of salaries.No Akwa Ibomite who worked with INELS and has a genuine case of undue dismissal will be owed a single kobo at the end of this investigation as necessary actions will be taken by the Executive and Legislative arm of Government in resolving the matter and all claims will be duly verified from the angle of INELS and the former staff who were Akwa Ibomites.The Government of Akwa Ibom State owes her citizens adequate protection on labour related matters and will not relent a single effort in their welfare.
Thank you."

other top Government functionaries and NGO's have weighed into the matter and as I report now, an NGO is about serving the management of INELS with a letter to respond to all accusations and counter-accusations labeled against them.

Before July 2013, who knew Deacon Udom Emmanuel in Akwa Ibom State?

Against the wish of many people, God used Senator Godswill Akpabio the Samuel of our time to anoint the head of Deacon Udom Emmanuel.

Instead of Udom to be grateful to God for an opportunity to serve the people even when he never had a party card, he started throwing stones at the same person who rescued him from being an employee to an employer.

The story of betrayals are not new. Friends have betrayed friends and even brothers have betrayed brothers. But the moral question we should ask ourselves is: are you sure another man will never pay you 10 folds of what you wished your brother?

Life is a lesson which many people seem to forget.

It appears that President Buhari's message to the Akwa Ibom people through Vice President Yemi Osibanjo has caused real upset among PDP members in the state.

A reliable source from the PDP camp who spoke to our correspondent confirmed that things do not seem to go well with the PDP as what is termed "federal might" may be used on the 9th of March, in favour of the APC.

According to the source who chose to remain anonymous, "I will advise Akwa Ibom people to be careful on the election day because it is going to be a do or die affair. PDP elders have promised to rain hell if care is not taken"

It appears that the desperate moves by the opposition to cause mayhem during the gubernatorial elections in Akwa Ibom State is because the Federal Government has decided to ensure that credible polls are carried out in Akwa Ibom State since there are reports from various quarters that the PDP led government had penetrated INEC and bribed all its staff prior to the presidential elections.

Meanwhile the information on security threat during the elections has been forwarded to relevant security agencies for prompt actions.

It is no longer news that Mike Igini, the Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) of INEC in Akwa Ibom State has suddenly become the most popular REC in Nigeria as a result of his bribery scandal and partisan affiliation during the February 23rd, 2019 Presidential election in Akwa Ibom State.

In numerous interviews, Mike Igini has claimed that he was never biased or a member of any political party yet there are many questions waiting to be answered that he has not attempted.

If Mike Igini claims that he was never a PDP member in the just concluded February 23rd Presidential elections, why did he subject the card readers used in the Local Government Area of Senator Godswill Akpabio to tight scrutiny but deliberately refused to do same for other Local Government Areas?

If Mike Igini was never partial, why did he uphold the Obot Akara result that was cancelled by the Returning Officer for the Ikot Ekpene Senatorial District during the National Assembly election?

If Mike Igini was never partial why did he have the result for Ikot Ekpene Senatorial District collated and announced at Uyo Local Government Area under his watch instead of the Ikot Ekpene Senatorial District as required by the law?

If Mike Igini was never partial, how come all the INEC Adhoc Staff trained for the Presidential Elections were all PDP members?

When did an INEC Resident Electoral Commissioner become a card carrying member of a political party?

When did an INEC Resident Electoral Commissioner become a team player instead of an unbiased umpire?

Could it be true that Mike igini was paid 2 Millions Dollars by Governor Udom Emmanuel to frustrate the true mandate of the Akwa Ibom people?

The vice president of Nigeria, Yemi Osinbajo arrived Uyo yesterday to a massive crowd. The hugely popular pastor dropped in to support the APC aspirant, Nsima Ekere, former DG of NDDC. He was met at the airport by Senator Godswill Akpabio and other prominent politicians from Akwa Ibom State.

Akwa Ibom has become the focal point for the national APC, as it is a former PDP state that has now mostly switched to APC in the sentiments of the people. Over the last year, most of the important politicians of the state have left the PDP and have joined the APC, including the highly popular former governor - Godswill Akpabio.

Adams Oshiomole and Yemi Osinbajo have declared Akwa Ibom as one of the most important states that APC can win - and they have made it a goal to connect Akwa Ibom back to the center.

It is expected that the saturday election in Akwa Ibom State will go to the APC, with Obong Nsima Ekere turning out to be the winner.

It is very sad that Akwa Ibom people have allowed a Delta State man play a critical role in deciding who governs them.

Top of the matter was Mr. Mike Igini singlehandedly attempting to handover Engr. Christopher Ekpenyong, popularly known as Ukarapa to the people of Ikot Ekpene Senatorial District.

It is no news that Engr. Christopher Ekpenyong who can hardly take a single step without a walking stick remains and unpopular and rejected choice by the people of Ikot Ekpene due to his poor records as the former deputy governor of AKwa Ibom State.

Engr. Christopher Ekpenyong was impeached as the deputy Governor of Akwa Ibom State in 2005 by a 23 member panel on account of corruption and disloyalty to his former boss, Ex-governor Obong Victor Attah.

What will be the future of the people of Ikot Ekpene Senatorial District if such man that was sacked as a deputy governor returns to the seat of power?

What will be the future of Ikot Ekpene people if we do not rise up and demand that the INEC chairman, Professor Mahmood Yakubu gives us an unbiased umpire?

Mike Igini did his worst on the 23rd of February 2019 during the Presidential and National Assembly Elections since he contested the elections against other political parties.

The 9th of March, 2019 shall be different because #WeareMore

Many Akwa Ibom Residents have started questioning the jurisdiction of the Court in deciding which INEC staff the commission should redeploy or not.

With the latest news making rounds on the social media, an Abuja high court yesterday, gave an injunction to stop Mr. Mike Igin, the INEC REC of Akwa Ibom State from being redeployed to another state.

Rising from the above issue, one would wonder why the court should step into a matter that is crucial to the future of Akwa Ibom State and making pronouncements without considering the plea of the electorates.

One would wonder why Justice O. A. Musa of the Federal High Court in Abuja had to postpone the hearing of the suit till the 21st of March, 2019 when the gubernatorial elections must have finished on the 9th of March, 2019 and the winner announced.

Could this be a ploy by the PDP to ensure that the biased umpire called Mike Igini stays to make their planned script a reality?

Could it be that some High Court Judges have become party to another conspiracy to rob Akwa Ibom people their well deserved mandate just as they did on the 23rd of February during the Presidential and National Assembly elections?

Mike Igini is a PDP member and has since lost his integrity for money.

Akwa Ibom children had been known Nationwide to be domestic maids serving in cities all around the country, most of them with no opportunity of acquiring primary education.

It is on record that in the past administration led by HE Sen. Godswill Akpabio, Akwa Ibom state was one of the states enjoying free and compulsory education for children at primary school level.

It was compulsory to the extent that the state government had to set up a special task force to hunt for children who were hawking on the streets during school hours. Their parents would be invited and questioned to know why they would allow their children skip school for such activities.

The education of every child became a paramount concern of the government and all the parents needed to do were to buy uniforms and books for their children. Free exercise books were also distributed to the pupils across the public primary schools (Not private).

On the resumption of state duty by Deacon Udom Gabriel Emmanuel, the Free and compulsory education policy of the government was trashed and till date it remains so. Any Akwa Ibom resident can unanimously agree with me that the population of out-of-school children in Akwa Ibom state has since exploded, especially in the heat of the dilapidating economic situation in the state.

Payment of Bursary which is undeniably a very important assistance from the state government to its indigene at Tertiary education level has also found its way to the history lane of Akwa Ibom state.

Of what use is a government that pays deaf ears to the educational need of her people in the 21st century?

Are Akwa Ibom students and parents comfortable with this level of negligence?

If you want to secure your child's future through education, vote for Obong Nsima Ekere on the 9th of of March, 2019.

An 8500 capacity worship centre is one of the signature projects conceived by Governor Udom Emmanuel in Akwa Ibom State.

We argued whether this nature of project was really deserving of a state that is suffering from lingering Economic crises and high rate of unemployment?

Udom Emmanuel is busy commissioning monuments while graduates are lingering the street seeking meagre jobs.

For how long will we continue to endure an administration that is never people oriented?

For how long will we continue clamour for change when Obong Nsima Ekere is the change that we need.

Smiles have finally returned to the faces of Ikot Ekpene residents as Obong Nsima Ekere has promised to lift the ban on bikes instituted by Governor Udom Emmanuel just to punish the people of Ikot Ekpene.

​​You can recall that Governor Udom Emmanuel had similar bike bans in Eket Local Government (his senatorial districts) for just 2 days. However, the one of Ikot Ekpene Local Government Area has lasted for over one year.

​​Speaking to some residents of Ikot Ekpene, one of them said "I thank God that Obong Nsima Ekere will come and take this suffering away from us"

​​Another resident identified as Eno who complained bitterly said "I had a relaxation parlour. My business had long closed down because of this wicked act by Udom Emmanuel "

​​Meanwhile, smiles filled the faces of these residents as they prayed earnestly for Obong Nsima Ekere to win the gubernatorial election on the 9th of March 2019.

Udom Emmanuel appeared out of Lagos to become Governor of Akwa Ibom State. This is someone who has spent his entire life in Lagos, working in a bank. He knows Lagos very well, and knows very little about Akwa Ibom State.

He was pulled in from Lagos to run Akwa Ibom State - and as soon as he become governor, he became confused. So many people with so many problems - problems he did not understand. What does a man from Lagos understand about village roads? What does he understand about farming? What does he understand about waterleaf farming.

He dismissed the complaints, ignored them or tried to solve them in an elitist manner. The people he put in charge ate his money and ran.

Udom’s head was spinning, and prominent people in Government have said that he started spending weekends in Lagos. Every friday, Udom would jet out of Akwa Ibom and go to Lagos to clear his head. He did this on the official state jet, costing tens of millions for each flight.

In Lagos, having dinner with his fellow bankers, Udom would make fun of Akwa Ibomites.

The only thing Udom really seems to like about Akwa Ibom is the huge amount of money the state has. He is already wanted by the EFCC for several billions that have disappeared from state coffers.

If not that he needs the governorship immunity, it is quite likely that Udom would have chosen not to run for second term.

The crown he thought he would enjoy seems to have turned out to be too heavy for him.
