“I have withdrawn from the race and I appeal to the Party Chairman to transfer the blessings to Pastor Umo Eno for success come 2023”.- Senator Effiong Bob, Political leader of Nsit Ubium.

In response to the various appeals, the State Party Chairman, Rt Hon (Elder) Aniekan Akpan, welcomed Pastor Umo Eno and assured his campaign team of the Party's preparedness for victory in 2023.

He emphasised that despite a few dissenting opinions, the will of God is sure for Akwa Ibom State.

. . . Says Gov's Completion Agenda is Still on Course

As the race to the 2023 Akwa Ibom governorship elections begins to gather a lot of steam, the Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Comrade Ini Ememobong has asked those vilifying and attacking Governor Emmanuel over the unveiling of Pst Umo Eno as his preferred successor to sheathe their sword.

The Commissioner made the plea while interacting with newsman during a Press Briefing held yesterday Monday, at the Nigerian Union of Journalists ( NUJ) Press Center in Uyo.

According to the Commissioner, leaders have always been interested on who should succeed them, therefore the recent unveiling of Pst Umo Eno as Governor Emmanuel's preferred successor come 2023 was just a normal phenomenom that should never call for the abuse of the Governor or divide the state along nonexistent tribal, ethnic or religious lines.

He maintained that the desire to have a successor have always been a source of concern by every leader, thus it was not out of place for the Governor to disclosed his preference after enduring months of humongous pressure to do so from all the quarters.

Ememobong explained, " If biologically, traditionally and even in churches people are interested in succession, then it is practically impossible that people should not be interested in succession in politics, especially the occupant of the office who understand the pains, challenges and nature of the office, and it is the Governor who wears the shoe and understand the burden of the office in this case ".

According to the state Spokesman, " it takes a lot of humility for a person of power at the level of the Governor to publicly admit that he submits to a higher power like God before making critical decisions such as who should succeed him at the end of his tenure".

He called on all sections of the media to stop vilifying the Governor whom he described as only a medium, who merely made known who was " divinely revealed " to him as his successor come 2023.

" Akwa Ibom is our only state, and if we hit up the political space and things degenerate, we have nowhere else to go, therefore I want to call on everyone of us here to continue to support the Governor and his succession plan for the state ". He added.

On the relegation of governance in the face of heightened political actities, he rebutted saying, " The Completion Agenda which the Governor had promised, and which we have reechoed severally that every critical project in this administration, he would work to ensure that they are completed ".

" We have been praying for a favourable weather like now, and that is why if you go towards the Eket, Uruan and other major sites across the state, including the new ring road, you will notice that work is ongoing at advanced level and to that extent, we are excited that very soon, we would have a season of project commissioning, and that is why I am here to tell you that the Completion Agenda of the Governor is on course, and very soon we are going to publish for you facts and figures".

" The Manifesto of the Governor in 2019 is called the Completion Agenda, and in that manifesto he made specific promises. As a Ministry, what we are doing is to track those promises to ascertain how they have been kept. We have distilled the promises embedded in those documents, and we are coming out with a factual document that will state on each of them their true stages, and if there is anyone that we have not done yet, we would be sincere to offer explanations on why we have not done them yet ".

" As the Governor's tenure comes to a close next year, judgment will begin to set in, and like i always say, the best time to pass judgement on this administration is on May 29th, 2023. So the fair point of posterity and judgement for him is at the terminal point of his administration ". Ememobong said.

Engr. Obong Samuel Atang was a special guest at the first gathering in 2022 of the foremost Youth movement in Ekid, Ekid Youths Union to set their action plan for the year.

In what was tagged; Facing the Ekid Future.
The event hard distinguished sons and daughters of Ekid Land graced the occasion while youths weren't left out in what would turn out to become the mouth piece of Ekid Youths especially as Politicians begin to focus more on Elections than delivering on the dividends of Democracy to Ekid Youths.

The Attah of Ekid in his presentation added his voice to the current issue ravaging the Relationship between Eket and Ibeno LGA; The Stubbcreek forest and re-echoed clearly that Ibeno were settlers and it is insulting for them to lay claims to a land that is not their own, even after Eket won the case in court.

The premiere Chairman of Eket sent words to the governor of Akwa Ibom State to return 13% Oil derivative to Oil Producing towns, as it is not money for the state, but the oil producing towns.
He also called the attention of the state government to the former Qua River Hotel and Qua Steel Company that were sold out in what can be tamed as unconstitutional process.

In another call, another former Chairman of Eket, Hon. Emmanuel Udoh harp on the group to go into all communities of Ekid Nation to drive in membership from youths to ensure massive participation in Union's activities.

The DPO of Eket division, Inspector Dikko called on Politicians in Eket to create jobs for the teaming Ekid youths, even if it's cottage industries.
He further praised Ekid Youths for the cordial Relationship the police always enjoys from the community, while charging youths to go about their activities peacefully while preparing for elections next year.

Youth Leaders from Other leading Ekid Groups spoke at length while congratulating the Union on the bold move.

In the Union's President remark, ObongIwaad Ekemini David read out Union's plans for year 2022 while charging Union members to gear up for what he tamed an activity-filled year.

It could be recalled that Ekid Youths Union was the only body that represented Ekid in the constitution amendment public hearing of the Federal Republic of Nigeria 2020 when even the Ekid leadership could not represent the community thus Ekid being the only ethnic nationality in Akwa Ibom State that was not represented if not for Ekid Youths Union.

The Union confronted PHED for the interest of society and business owners, and got electricity restored to Eket on 1st January 2022 after days of blackout during the festive season.

The only youth group who partnered with the only activist group in Ekid, the Itid Afigh Ekid Union to hold the first world conference in Ekid history. The effect of that press conference is overwhelming across Nigeria to France, owners/partners of Bua Refinery.

The only youth body who has stood up to the redemption of our land via taking up issues like agitating for the rights of Urua Nka traders and market women.

It has been over 30 days of fun in Eket Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State as the Oil City hosted what it tagged; Eket Festival.

An event that included a Christmas Village and 30 days of Concert to entertain the peace loving people of Eket.

The Village was officially opened on the 2nd of December, 2021 and closed on 2nd of January, 2022.

Variety of events held in the Village day after day.

From Musical Concerts, Dancing Competition, Drinking, Singing, rapping, weightlifting and many other varieties too numerous to mention.

But on the final day, what could be tamed a surprised Competition happened.

Eket's First Lady, Mrs Maryann Ita Tommey started a Dancing Competition for married women, couple of married women with children as proof came out and the Competition started.

At the end, the winner went home with $100 while others made away with consolation prices.

At the end, Eket Chairman, Hon. Akan Tommey declared the Festival and Christmas Village officially closed.

A move that he's still happy to have made till now because he's making gains already.

Chief John Otu, a widower who hails from Usaka Annang community in Obot Akara L.G has received keys to a fully furnished three bedroom bungalow from the executive chairman of Obot Akara Local Government, lady Agnes Udoewenwen, built and furnished under the auspices of Heal the world God's power charity foundation, headed by Rev. Dr Eunice Otuekong.

Dr. Eunice Otuekong who is a community developer, a philanthropist, a medical doctor, and the CEO of HEAL THE WORLD GOD'S POWER CHARITY FOUNDATION, across the European countries and in Nigeria, hails from Usaka Annang community in Obot Akara Local Government Area.

On her path, Dr Eunice expressed appreciation virtually on the council Boss and the entire community for honoring her and partnering with Heal the World God's Power Charity Foundation. She disclosed that the paramount mission of the foundation is to advocate against the abuse of children and elders in the society, also engage in children, Youths, and women empowerment programs and capacity building.

She also thanked God for keeping her alive and granting her the grace to show appreciation whilst she still lives.

A popular on air personality with Heritage FM, Eket, Aaron Ayara, has finally said bye bye to bachelorhood today. The solemnization of holy matrimony was conducted this morning, by the Apostolic Church, Akuwot, Eket.

The reception ceremony was held at Imperial Hotel, Eket and was witnessed by men and women of timber and calibre.

Mr Idem Iniobong chaired the occasion with Eket Council boss, Rt Hon Akan Tommey , also in attendance with other top dignitaries who came to grace the occasion.

The Master of Ceremony was another popular AOP, Nsudo Rockefeller of the AKBC fame.

16 Days Activism against Gender-Base Violence: First Lady kicks off 'Orange the World' Campaign in Akwa Ibom (Pictures)

The First Lady of Akwa Ibom State, Her Excellency, Martha Udom Emmanuel kicked off a 16-days activism against gender-based violence for year 2021 tagged;
Orange the World.
End Violence against Women now!

The program, which is a 16-days activity filled event is to create sensitization across the State, Country and the world at large on the need to end Gender-based Violence (25 November — 10 December).

The program inspires people around the world to learn, reflect, and take action to end violence against women.

The 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence is an annual international campaign, the International Day for the elimination of violence against Women, runs until 10 December, Human Rights Day.

The Governor's wife stated emphatically that it is a serious crime for women to hide the activities of rapists, paedophiles and other abusers, no matter who is involved and place in the society.

Young Children across the state have suffered one form of abuse or the other, girls especially fall under these attacks.

Some even by male relatives, and others by the society.

The moral decadence of our society has fallen so low that it calls for raising of Alarm.

“Everyone must be willing to influence behaviour change, and this can be achieved through small but connected efforts.

Everyone must influence their inner circle to respect women’s rights before they try to influence total strangers.

Men can become part of the solution through mentoring younger boys to respect women’s rights and taking part in unpaid care work in the homes.
Young people must share knowledge on gender equality with peers in their communities and social media circles. Young people should be part of support networks, movements and community initiatives that thrive in advancing social justice and gender equality.
They should harness the power of numbers. Networking offers limitless opportunities for young people.

It offers support systems for young people growing up in violent setups.”

Hi guys, am back again with my views on Tradition and religion.
Obviously, When I hear people talk about WITCHRAFTCY and link it to African Tradition & Culture, I get very very angry with them.

Hello! For the umpteenth time, Witchraftcy has no link with AFRICAN TRADITIONAL SYSTEM.

Neither will you forming Western Culture & over holiness make you any better.

Same way we have evil Native doctors, we also have evil Pastors.

Good evil grow together in all facets of life and that's Biblical too (Matt. 13:30).

On a personal experience, I have spoken up severally against wrong practices & teachings in Religious circles and also, I don't really believe in WITCHRAFTCY (to me, Witchraftcy is a state of mind or a Belief system just like with other religious beliefs system including Christianity).

And for over 10yrs now, I have trained my mind to focus and Entertain only progressive and positive thoughts and this has worked perfectly for me, I mean, no single spiritual attack either in form of nightmare or spiritual encounter.

As Proverbs 23:7 puts it perfectly; �

As someone thinks in his heart, so he is.
-Proverbs 23:7

We are not victims of Witchraftcy, African Traditional System, biology or circumstances (Sadly, Religious bodies and Nollywood have brainwashed people to think so, thereby making people turn against their Traditions & culture).

My dear, your village or family members are not your problem.

You're a victim to your thoughts,

If you exalt a RELIGIOUS MARRIAGE over TRADITIONAL MARRIAGE, then wisdom should ask you;
why is it that despite the proliferation of Religious bodies, THEY HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO ELIMINATE TRADITIONAL PRACTICES.

See, TRADITION was made by GOD.

Jesus even said in Mark 12:17;
Give what belongs to Caeser to Caeser, and to God (not Religion) what is God.

Psalm 62:11 clearly states and I quote;
'All' Power belong to God.

And Verse 12 adds;
That He (God) gives to every man (not some men), according to the value of their work (work of Love) on Earth.

See, WHEN YOU THINK, YOU BUILD THOUGHTS, AND THESE BECOMES PHYSICAL SUBSTANCES IN YOUR BRAIN.

NIGERIA will not experience Development Because you abandoned your culture and Traditional believes to welcome a white man's own.

India, China, Saudi Arabia, Japan are experiencing rapid development with their Traditional Practices very much intact.

Infact in China for instance, the Bible and practice of Religious activities is out of ban in public places.

So Our Tradition couldn't have been our problem, neither is WESTERNIZATION or RELIGION our SOLUTION.

OUR SOLUTION lies right in our heart.

A Typical Nigerian needs a Conscious porch of his heart from SELFISHNESS which sadly, RELIGION promotes, to a heart of LOVE which is the true Message of JESUS CHRIST.

Until Churches and other Religious bodies start preaching LOVE over MIRACLES, SIGNS & WONDERS, Nigeria will still be lacking behind because everybody right now is running with a very SELFISH & HYPOCRITICAL MINDSET.
