Thank you so much doc, for your response and God bless you abundantly for your good work.

Please am a little confused about my ovulation now. Before the d surgery my mc used to be between 26/27 days, with the ovulation coming 10-12 days after. I had menses on the 9th of May, did the surgery on the 15th of May. on the 31st my menses came (making it 23 days cycle), it lasted 5 days and d 6th day i saw light mucus for 3 days, which used to be ovulation sign for me, but since it came out soon, I thought it was part of d blood i shed, but I didnt see any other sign of ovulation after that. The same thing happened again last month June, I saw my menses on 21st of June (22 days cycle) and light mucus for 3 days after the menses.

Is it something I should be worried about, or will it regularise as time goes on. Thank you.

hi,
been reading thru the thread and u have been doing a great job
however u wrote to ACL telling her her hormonal assay was ok but there is a reversal of the FSH/LH ratio which may indicate PCOS
this is her result she posted
LH 5.0, NORMAL RANGE IS 1.6 TO 9.6
FSH 3.8 NORMAL IS 3.3 TO 12.9
PROLACTIN 283 NORML IS 78 TO 455
PROGESTERONE 30.7 NORMAL IS > 14.3.

Keep up the good work

cool I usually read nairaland to get a different view of 9ja news and accidentally stumbled on the Doctor in the house bit. I'm a doctor myself,so I must commend my colleagues. Well done you all.

Hello Doc. Kathy, well done for all the good works. May God continue to grant you more wisdom. Please doctor, after i delivered my first baby about nine months ago, though during the birth process, i had tears and also episotomy which was properly taken care of after my delivery but for some time now when i and my husband meet, He finds it quiet difficult to penetrate into me. I dont know if its as a result of the tear and episotomy? Doctor what do you think i can do. Thank you.
Re: Doctor In The House:Obstetrics And Gynecology by kathyekiti: 2:52am On Jul 11, 2010
@mama mee
The reason I ask is because there are three orifices that blood can come from, urethra (where we u_rinate from), va_gina and rectum. Sometimes with constipation or inflammation of the bowel, there is blood that a lot of patients assume is coming from the va+gina. Although your urine showed blood, I wanted to make sure it isn't rectal. Right now, sounds like the blood in the urine could be a contaminant. I wouldn't worry unless the same thing happens with your next cycle. You might have had an anovulatory cycle

Re: Doctor In The House:Obstetrics And Gynecology by kathyekiti: 2:56am On Jul 11, 2010
@bece
Don't be scared. Most times, it is caused by changes in the acidity of the va_gina. Refrain from douching or oil based lubricants.

@petrab
Looks like you have a vaginitis but this is not common since you have been bleeding for a while. It changes the acidity of the vagina. Your thyroid looks great. I would do as the doctor suggests and see what happens with your next cycle
Re: Doctor In The House:Obstetrics And Gynecology by kathyekiti: 3:01am On Jul 11, 2010
@labonte
I must admit that you have me stumped. Doesn't sound like anything I have dealt with. If you could find out from your doctor what the initial diagnosis was and the exact surgery done, I might be able to help you.

@stephangels BF
I think you need a thorough gyn exam. Your symptoms are non specific. I would also suggest keeping a diary with the first day of your menses as well as marking the days you get the pain to see if there is a correlation
Re: Doctor In The House:Obstetrics And Gynecology by kathyekiti: 3:03am On Jul 11, 2010
@ Balogun

Helloooo! Really? I hope he is fine. Expanding so it has been a little crazy.
Re: Doctor In The House:Obstetrics And Gynecology by kathyekiti: 3:04am On Jul 11, 2010
@9hmo
It is possible for her to get pregnant. I suggest 6 weeks before intercourse

@kechai
Depending on how short your cycle is, you could theoretically get pregnant. There are no side effects of having sex during menses
Re: Doctor In The House:Obstetrics And Gynecology by kathyekiti: 3:07am On Jul 11, 2010
@chiscomi
It doesn't affect fertility. Good luck

@venuss

Run!!! No such thing as increasing the size of your uterus. Anovulation can be treated
Re: Doctor In The House:Obstetrics And Gynecology by kathyekiti: 3:09am On Jul 11, 2010
@audrey !

Just keep the area clean. It will heal. Sounds like yeast to me. Sometimes as the va_gina heals, there is a discharge

@chiscomi
No! You don't need it
Re: Doctor In The House:Obstetrics And Gynecology by kathyekiti: 3:12am On Jul 11, 2010
@mylove4him
Not unusual to have an anovulatory cycle. Lets see how the next cycle is

@uteh
It should regulate over time. I think you should get an ovulation kit to take the guess work out.
Re: Doctor In The House:Obstetrics And Gynecology by kathyekiti: 3:22am On Jul 11, 2010
@olapo
This medication is not designed to be used that frequently. I would suggest going on contraception.

@ unite4real
It is the effect of estrogen.  It clears up after delivery
P.s. Next time, if you repost in such a short time period, bold, I will not reply your post
Re: Doctor In The House:Obstetrics And Gynecology by kathyekiti: 3:24am On Jul 11, 2010
@labella12
Good to know you are interested but that is a very old criteria and even with the old criteria, this wouldn't pass muster. The ratios are off. You also have to take into consideration that we don't know exactly when in the cycle this blood was drawn. Another thing you missed was her progesterone level. For a level this high, you have to assume she ovulated this cycle

@boyegbami
Welcome and feel free to jump in. What field are you in?
Re: Doctor In The House:Obstetrics And Gynecology by kathyekiti: 3:30am On Jul 11, 2010
@obatity
I would suggest using a lubricant. Is penetration painful for you?

Dear Dr. many thanks for Ur contact and co-operations on this forum. My problem is my wife she had been suffering from fibroid with nearly all the symptoms for some yrs now. The fibroid is large and doctors  recommendation is to remove the womb which we object since she is still in her child bearing age and looking forward to start family. We don't want to undergo any operation cause of the side effect however, i came across a certain website talking about natural remedy for fibroid and would like to know if u know them too. It is called FIBROIDCLEAR AND FIBROID SHRINKING KIT by Shola Osho based in america and They are also on facebook under Botanical Health.

We are looking for a safe alternative to get ride of this fibroid so that my wife and i could be parents one day pls advice on fibroid shrinking remedy?urs  would be highly appreciated. thanks.
