yea, its the place to be. i'm based in Lefke but i've stayed like 6months in Famagusta. Other major cities i've visited are Nicosia, Dipkarpaz and Kyrenia. Spent a few weekends at my friend's hotel in Kyrenia , cheap, nice holiday hotel. I'd totally recommend cyprus for anyone, especially for holidays, honeymoons or weddings.

Nicosia is divided into two: Turkish Part and Greek Part.

So which part of Nicosia is your school located? You may get a day visa across the 'buffer-zone' to visit any side of the capital.
jaffidoni:

Well Cyprus(not turkish/northern cyprus) is full of UK people.

Yes, they could be racist tendencies as it is a small island and a bit progressive.

But it is done to everyone include the UK people.

@ Europe 76,

Guy you are a lier you have never been to south cyprus before in your life. How can you say SOUTH CYPRUS is in the Eastern Europe? Go and check your map well.
secondly, if you have studied in Americanos college b4 what do you study? which year? when do you finish? what is the name of the owner of Americanos college? which hostel do you stay and what was your student number? how far is americanos college to kyrenia and famagusta?

lastly , you said the pple are not good tell us what did the pple do for you that makes them not to be good. if you truly studied at americanos scan a copy of admission letter and intl appsoprt to us. I do not beliv you because i do go there every time. i lived there for a year and north cyprus for a year now in istanbul.

@biodeisel, wat re u doin in instanbul? u claim dat u hav spent 1 yr in south cyprus and 1 yr in north cyprus and now in instanbul. wat is ur statue wen u re in south cyprus and in north cyprus? "PROSTITUTE" nxt from instanbul u will be in syria, iran, afghanistan, lebanon, bagladsesh, pakistan. at the end u will achieve nothin in ur life only with ur forged certificates,
Re: Nigerians Living In Cyprus by europe76(m): 10:14am On Dec 26, 2009
@biodiesel, now i understand that u re just a refugee. formerly u re a student in north cyprus and u came to south cyprus to seek assylum becos u cannot continue ur education because ur parents do not hav money to continue to sponsor u in school. then wen south cyprus give u rejection letter that they dont need u again in their country after spending 0ne year as they re doing now for many nigerians assylum seekers that dont have a good geniune reason of seeking assylum because all of them tell a big lies.now u are in instanbul to seek another assylum, soon instanbul will regect u and u go to syria 4rom syria, iran - lebanon - iraq - bangladesh - pakistan, "FOOL"

plz keep ur dirty mouth shot wen some reasonable people want to make a useful suggestion to our brothers and sisters in nairaland, so that they will not make mistake in thier chosing carear.

no seriously, North Cyprus really is a nice place. the best parts of my adult life has been the 4yrs i've spent in North Cyprus. The place is calm, quiet, safe, fun, with friendly and nice people, lot's of fun things to do and placed to visit.

people complain about raicisim, but the truth is, we are all racists in one way or another, no matter how little. me, i like a simple life and i dont bother myself with who is racist of not, or waste my time looking for a racist explanation to everything that happens. i've been here 4yrs and i cant really say i've had any "racist" experience. and of course, i'm a foreigner here, there's no way they will treat me like their own, i can have the same rights as they do, unlike some of us here trying to argue equal rights in ANOTHER MAN'S country, as how na

if you stay in the more developed areas like Kyrenia or Famagusta or even Nicosia, you'd see the good side of cyprus. life is sweet there. night life is great, lots of tourists from everywhere, especially british people.

what's not to love about Cyprus

@Europe 76: make una no spoil Cyprus for me oh!!!

you know the really funny thing about this cyprus issue 100% of those people talking trash about this island, when you ask them to leave and return to their country, dem no go go!?!?! isn't that ironic island no good, island no good, ok, GO HOME na, dem say NO! how do you explain that

i love photography, and i have tons and tons of photos. every month (not intentionally) we look through old photos and we see how much weight people have put on on this island. people come here skiny and gain weight. seriously, when some people came to North Cyprus first, they were like sick people compared to what they look like NOW. let someone say again that Cyprus is crap!

if the place is as bad, then why are people coming here to find work or coming here to pass out to other places doesn't that show how "good" this place is (contrary to the crap people say) ??

yes, job is hard to find in north cyprus, but when you get it, u fit compare am to wetin people dey pay for 9ja a friend of mine washes plates at a resturant here, she makes 1,600 turkish lira a month. at the current exchange rate from www.xe.com, 1,600TL = 157,000 naira I BEG TELL ME HOW MANY PLACES IN NIGERIA YOU WILL WASH PLATES AND MAKE 160K A MONTH?

and yea, things are expensive here, it's an island, and is not even a real country politically, what do you expect that things will be cheap here? and when they say its expensive, NOT everything is expensive here at all. i spend about 100TL a month on feeding, that;s roughly 10k naira. 1kg of rice is 300naira here, 1kg of gizzard is 300 naira, beef 1,200 naira, sugar 80naira, 1liter milk 160, what's the difference the difference is not so much. as for electronics sha, dont think it, cyprus is expensive, but just relatively. depending on what you're buying, prices may vary from 500naira to 10,000 naira.

this is another country, currency is different, money is different, you cant base costs of things here with the same eye as your country's currency, a big mistake people make when they come here. taxi in north cyprus is 5lira (typical price) which is 500naira. i was in nigeria last month, taxi in abuja is 200 naira, taxi in lagos i 1500. ALL TAXIS IN NORTH CYPRUS ARE BENZ, and i dont mean regular, i mean real benz, like C CLASS. i've even seen crysler eagle TAXI in kyrenia!!! a typical plate of food is from 500 to 2,000 naira, what's the difference? and i mean tooshed up restaurants and cafes.

yea, north cyprus is not your typical europe, but still its a place i've loved for 4yrs and i dont see what's not to like about cyprus. no jobs like that, mainly cos of the resident permit issue. its a small country, they're managing their resources. almost everything here comes from turkey. everything here is controlled, so to speak. life is simple and easy. there's little or no crime, the place is safe, its quiet, its calm and relaxing, i dont know what else people want for a place like this oh!

if you dont like it, simple go away, rather than spoil the people for those who might actually have a future here. as for me, cyprus is home for me now smiley

@kheme,

i support your view and strongly believ it, see most pple saying cyprus is bad are not really serious. i met a guy at famagusta few days back, he was complanin bitterly that he want to leave this island not knowing that we had met in BAZZAR IN TURKEY many months back sayin the same, i asked him why he said no job i asked him how many times have u gone out to search for job he said none , then how on earth can you get one job?

i particularly took him to kyrenia to ezic resturant where they need worker , the starting price his 60Tl /day cos he cant speak turkish but with good pakages.

ne dedin orda, ben anlamadim  smiley ne demek isterdin?

don't mind them. i actually have a few friends who say "no work", "iş yok" and dem go sit down for house oh, dem no go go find work, lol. na wa for some people sha. me, i've gone in search of work, though reluctantly sha. my first job search on the island was futile (over 3yrs ago) not knowing that God was planning something for us, lol. na the people wen come evict us from dorm nai give us job oh, lol. ironic, right? i worked with EMU, was practically a civil servant that summer (2006): worked 9 to 5 with regular 1hr lunch break, didn't work on weekends or public holidays and was earning quite little, but quite ok given the time i was working. but that's that. work they for serious people. places dey to flex. people dey to flex you sef. cyprus dey,  i do recommend it for friends.

i hope i'm not talking too much
