@ all the freq 11013 and 11054 posted for the tracking of badr4/6 should not be mistaken for badr. The freqs re for orbit pakages in eurobird 2 @ 25.5' and all the channels re encrypted except cnn and one other channel. @ adewest welcome back.

@Jesu de,
Pitodenz is right about those frequencies. They are not for tracking Badr KU, so don't
make that mistake pls. Unless of course you want to sweat inside the sun from morning
till night without seeing green grin Badr ku 4-6 tps start from 11727H. Specifically, I used
11747V two weeks back to track and I got up to 95% signal quality here. Very high!

@Pitodenz,
Thanks for helping to correct the wrong info.

@adewest,
You just dissapeared like that fiam! Na wao for this kaki work o!
Anyway, you're welcome back.

@ All

One of the nicest thing to have as an fta enthusiast is a dish motor.
I got one with the help of olofofo and my options are countless.
I am envious of the guys whose big dishes are motorized.
To really enjoy the beauty of fta, one needs to motorise his/her dish.
I will keep the house updated as i follow through the installation of the motor.

For the Analog Over The Air TV signal it is Bye Bye for the USA. This is what Analog TVs look like here in the USA today! Bye!! Bye!! Analog TV! cry cry

Oh, don't forget, Nigeria Analog TV Signals will suffer the same fate on December 31, 2012. Get ready folks! sad
Re: Official Thread of Free-to- Air Satellite TV [part 3] by olason(m): 7:56pm On Jun 12, 2009
F Marshall, I saw that write up on sky news website, I hope the relevant authorities in Nigeria and Africa take note of this vital change from analogue to full digital by 2012. It will be a wellcome development for fta, we will now get to see more free to air stations that were formally on analogue transmission.

Please, I have come into possession of a 2m prime focus dish that I would like to use to capture signals from Nile Sat. The dish though is rusty on its receiving side. Here are my questions:
1. If I am to repaint the dish, what type of paint best reflects Radio Frequency?
2. Is it possible to capture Nile sat in Yaounde, Cameroon with such a 2m dish using Strong receiver?
3.            Will this prime focus dish require just any LNB or LNBs receiver specific?
Sincerely Lovala shocked

Re: Official Thread of Free-to- Air Satellite TV [part 3] by BUTONEDAY(m): 9:38am On Jun 13, 2009
@ All,
The Panorama stuff we were using to pick up about sixteen channels in Warri is about to die. The signal owners have now started encrypting the channels one after the other. To get those channels now, you will need to purchase their receiver/decoder, smart card plus subscription.
Re: Official Thread of Free-to- Air Satellite TV [part 3] by GeorgeD1(m): 12:34pm On Jun 13, 2009
@BUTONEDAY,
The 'freebie' got to end one day or the other, so I'm not surprised.
What remains now is for hard guys to devise another way to beat the
encription. But for me, that's neither here nor there since I didn't opt
for the package in the frst place.
There's nothing better than being your own 'provider', my brother smiley

What up with your Zain line? I'm calling but no response.

@lovala,
You need to give us your co-ordinates so we know how to help you better. Nilesat is very much
possible in Yaunde but I doubt if you can achieve it with that 2m dish you're talking about.
As for painting, a good member, BUTONEDAY has already given guidelines on that in an earlier
post. You can use MEYER oil paint. That is the best kind of paint that will give you the best
reflective surface for your dish.
Then for the LNB, no they are not reciever specific. However, the type you use will determine
what results you get. Try and use fuji lnb. It has so far proven to be the best for out-of-footprint
satellites.

Good afternoon all,

Gateway TV, the company that closed down late last year, is likely to be back up and running soon,

According to a Kenyan based sports website, Kenyafootball.com, the prominent Kenyan industrialist and business magnate, billionaire Chris Kirubi, has expressed his intention to buy out the Gateway Television Sub-Saharan Business operation.

Sources revealed that Kirubi is leading a pack of five investors who are keen on capturing the TV rights for the English Premier League and dispatch them to consumers using the existing GTV infrastructure.

Kirubi, commonly known as DJ CK due to his love for disc-jockeying at his CapitalFM radio station, is also the force behind CNBC Africa’s Kenyan operation. The station transmits on a free-to-air basis.

GTV arrived forcefully on the African market two years ago and eclipsed the already established Muiti-choice that owns the sports content provider, Supersport, by snatching almost 80% of the English Premier League matches TV rights. The pay TV also fought with Supersport for sponsorship deals with various football federations.

It managed to take the sponsorship deal for regional football federation, CECAFA, and the Ugandan premier league among the others as its presence was quickly felt across to the football mad continent.

But when it closed shop, all the subscribers had their fingers burnt and now, if there really are investors willing to roll it back to business, it will be interesting to see whether people will readily accept it, after its forerunner went under unexpectedly.

Have a blessed weekend

@ George D : The geographical coordinates of my location, Yaounde are 3° 52' 0" North, 11° 31' 0" East. Thankx a trillion for the paint type and LNB/f I should use, George D. with this coordinates for Yaounde, will it still be a big hurdle for me to capture Nile Sat or Dubai ONE using the prime focus 2m dish?

Nuff respect,
Lovala.

Re: Official Thread of Free-to- Air Satellite TV [part 3] by GeorgeD1(m): 4:24pm On Jun 13, 2009
@lovala,
Your co-ordinates seem to suggest that you will need more than a 2m dish to
watch nilesat in your area. In think you should be talking more of 3.5 to 4m
for the strongest tps. If you want to get most of the weak tps on H then you
really should be looking at getting a 4.5m.
