How many Nigerians watched the match with local DISCO electrical supply Don't mind those discos jaree! The always 'cut' power moments before crucial matches. I don't understand their phobia for soccer matches. Super eagles psychologist got to work hard on the minds of our players. He needs to makes our eagles understand that it's not over until it's over. |

Politics › Re: 'We Are Your Subjects & Children'- Eze Ndigbo Akure Moves To Reconcile With Deji by NIGERIALOLoCOM(m): 10:58am On Oct 20, 2015 |
GentleToks: I am an Akure indegene and it's a known fact that Igbos have enjoyed a peaceful co-existence with Yorubas in Akure for years. You need to see the Igbos in Akure to know what i am talking about; they have literally become Akure bona fide indegenes with their children speaking the local dialect fluently.
However, it will be suicidal for Igbos not to be boundary conscious like their Hausas/Fulanis counterparts who are equally at the same level with Igbos as far as business and population are concerned. The Hausas/Fulanis own all the shops in Sabo along Odo-Ijoka road towards the state stadium and all the way towards the mini Sabo along Oba-Adesida road. They own all the shops in the Sabo at Odo-Ikoyi junction as well as the money exchange business by Post office junction towards Oba palace.
These Hausas/Fulanis are making their freaking Benjamis but maintaining and keeping low profile. Igbos need to learn that spirit of humility and respect from these Hausas/Fulanis.
In eventuality of Igbos being seen by Akure indegenes as tribal enemies, the outcome could better be imagined. Those guys aren't smiling menh cos war/fight is their daily watchwords. I believed that some Igbo elders witnessed what happened in Akure in early 80s(Omoboriowo riot in which Akure indegenes were burning and killing people on the streets).
I ll implore Igbos not to allow the money they have made to get into their heads cos money is the bane of all evil. The peace and sanity they have enjoyed over 50years in Akure should be protected and cherished at all cost by obeying and respecting our traditional values. That's the only demand(Respect our cultural values) of Akure people from Igbos and others unlike where Igbos are being taxed by the indegenes. Nobody is taxing or demanding all sorts from Igbos in Akure and this alone should be appreciated by Igbos. Your post makes me consider relocating to Akure. |

An2elect2: Secondly, which dominion is he wielding that belonged to Adam? Albeit Satan wanted to benefit from the fall, it was his greatest undoing because no dominion power was given except that he was cursed God after creating the world handed dominion of Earth to Adam. Adam lost this dominion to Satan who Christ refers to in the gospels as the ruler of the world vis a vis the controller of the present system of things. Christ had to warn his disciples...."you're in the world but you're not of the world." |
Christianity Etc › Re: Wait O: How Come The Word Satan Is Rarely Ever Mentioned In The Old Testament? by NIGERIALOLoCOM(m): 2:42am On Oct 20, 2015 |
Sarassin: Interesting polemic against Satan by Scholar8200 it is a triumph of style over substance. It does not deal with the query of the OP which is, why is there a lack of the appearances of Satan in the OT as opposed to the NT where Satan is found virtually at every turn?
The answer lies in the different approaches taken by the Hebraic and Aramaic writers of the OT and that taken by the mostly Hellenized Greek speaking Jews who composed the NT. The common denominator are the Books of Enoch from where we learn that Satan is brethren to Michael, Uriel, Gabriel and Raphael, he rejected the dominion of God, declined to serve, formented rebellion and for this, was thrust into the great empyrean.
The NT concept of Satan is very heavily influenced by the nightmarish apocalyptic visions in the book of Daniel, as well as the equally harrowing Book of Revelations (which at one time was considered so bad as to be un-Christian) both books reflect Enochian visions of Satan or, if you prefer, the devil.
In Judaism however, Satan is a term used since its earliest biblical contexts to refer to a human opponent. Occasionally, the term has been used to suggest evil influence opposing human beings.
What is clear is that the Rabbis rejected Enochian literary works in their scriptures (the OT or Tanakh as well as the Talmud)and made every attempt to root them out rejecting any belief in rebel or fallen angels, demons and such-like, they chose to view evil as an abstract, a very sophisticated outlook. The Hellenized NT writers on the other hand did not share this view. Quite simply if Satan were not around the corner to lure one into temptation, and there were no binding of demons, what would be the need for salvation? You are wonderful! Jah bless!! |

Built2last: You wont believe i asked my old time friend Umar on his opinion on the threat by Yorubas'
He said ''Nobody takes the yoruba's serious. If its Igbo leaders (Ohaneze) that met on realisation of Biafra we will take them seriously''
For now, all noise about Biafra is from hungry youths but for the Yorubas. We have their password....they can't make do their threat. It ended in that meeting. He said i needed to listen to the analysis of the threat on Hausa BBC.
I told him that Yorubas are the sole reason Nigeria is still one. That if they make do this threat. We are done for as a country...He said, forget guy. That threat ended on that table of deliberation. They lack the heart to carry it out.
If Nigeria is one why haven't Nigerians trusted an Igbo man with presidency. He said, you cant control an igbo man. He is too arrogant. I said but thats why they want out. He said, their leaders are not united and so its far from realisation for them.
I have been thinking about that statement all day... You again! I have an eye on you!! I admire reading you posts because you present yourself as a detribalized neutral Nigerian. More ink to your pen!!! |
