Well some are directly caused by genetic mutation or developmental challenges in the womb. Like cystic fibrosis (genetic) or some forms of blindness (maternal infection)

Some are almost completely down to lifestyle choices, with genetics making the individual more susceptible to that disease than others. Like diabetes, heart disease

The interplay between them is really complex...not made less so by the fact that most people will still refuse to do whats good for them, even in the face of glaring evidence

You know, not really..my course didn't include much about infectious disease and such..it was more about lifestyle/genetic induced ones. now that I think about it, I did enjoy studying that kind of thing whilst I was at school..but nowadays Im more sensitive so I think it would just disturb me too much

I visit those sites more for international news, I don't participate in their discussions tho. Sometimes you would want to hear Nigerians opinions on international politics and how it affects "OUR" country. Nobody would discuss how the Iran nuclear deal will shape Nigeria for us, No one would discuss how Greece financial crisis compares to ours. Some things needs discussion by Nigerians.
