Please is that Geremi on PSG bench? When did he join their coaching staff?

Waiting for Messi to save Barca again while Iniesta play less passes than Matic claiming to be controlling midfield.
I didn't even know Iniesta was on the pitch. I hadn't seen him at all

Nihilist it is one thing for Pep to want younger players but another thing to claim any player who is 30 and above is useless.

Pep may want young players but we also have a manager in mou who prefers older players. It is strictly based on managers perspective of what he wants in a squad and not age factor as clearly stated by dayo.

It will also interest you to know that out of Peps 5 or 6 signings we have at least two players of 30 and above.

And don't tell me pace has to do with age bcuz Valencia, ronaldo and co will surely give them a run for their money.

Lastly, you and I will agree that the aguero issue is not something most coaches will risk handling the way Pep has gone about it.

I shall no go fit agree with dayo on top this matter.
Make we leave matter for now. PSG don score.

Pep will not finish top 2. Na because dem just play Swansea and Bournemouth? Go look City fixtures.
Fixtures don't mean anything. We've see Watford and Bournemouth beat Liverpool this season. Watford Trashed Arsenal etc. I can bet that you didn't expect us to draw Burnley regardless of their impressive home form. The koko is that we can still drop points....and that's before we even play them.

Softly Softly. 14 games still dey with everything to play for.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Club World Cup Champions 2025-2029 by Nihilist: 8:43pm On Feb 14, 2017
I would be cautious to label Pep a failure at this point. He's only 8 points behind in 2nd place, and We still have to play them.

It is normal for clubs to bring in young and fresh legs which I don't have a problem with.

What is not normal is dayos reckless claim. A player can be 30,31,32 and still be balling hard. Having a bunch of or a couple of 30 plus players won't automatically translate into a team being poor and that is my cross with dayos claim.
Of course.

I actually agree with Dayo on this issue though. Toure was out of the team until Gundogan forced Pep's hand. Kompany is fit, but Pep is not playing him. Aguero has been dropped, and last night Fernandinho played Left Back.

Pep is actively trying to phase out the older players in the team. I remember after the last West Ham game, he was saying point out how important it was that his front three were very young and as such had the energy to beat the first line of West Ham's press.

Of course, Dayo is a dodgy criminal, but he has a good point here. Pep himself has been emphasising the age factor in his recent comments

So when you added mangala to your list, did you do dat because he was old? Or bony who was atop striker before joining manCity.

You cannot afford to be selective especially when you make bold declaration.

You actually want us to believe bcuz certain city players are in their 30s dey are also automatically useless which is not the case.

I see lahm playing as a right back for Ur club and I am yet to read anywhere you called him useless. Alonso, robben and co.,you haven't called them useless for being over 30years of age. Why right off all 30+ players in city?

Same Yaya you wrote off,pep can't do without. Silva you wrote off,pep can not do without. Same goes for kolarov, n co.

Please, even if I can agree that age do affect everyone at some point, I will never agree to your claim that once a player is 30 and above the player automatically becomes useless. I won't agree because all players have their football life span which is different from one another.

I won't agree because I have witnessed players achieve greatness or do great things at 30 and above.
Pep is actively trying to reduce the age profile of ManCity though.

These three players will be the future in the next three or four years, I’m pretty sure of that,” the manager said. “The last game [the FA Cup win at Crystal Palace] we played with three guys with an average age of 20. I don’t think in the big clubs in Europe you can find three strikers with an average age of 20. But we have to win the games today. People aren’t expecting what’s going to happen in three or four years but it’s good with this huge talent of Raz, Gabriel, Leroy who are so young. - Pep Guardiola

When I highlight midfield dysfunction, all midfielders get chased away to China.

When you highlight midfield dysfunction, it's the best functioning midfield in the country.

Quit trying to turn Gullit analyses of one game into your personal campaign against the best functioning midfield in the country.

Mehn just type Matic on twitter. The guy is being slaughtered online, on TV, and on this thread but I have a personal campaign.

Matic was responsible for conceding a foul after being given a hospital pass over 30 yards from goal which happens many times in a match. It was a brilliant freekick. That's just it. Anything more than that is scapegoating.

Go on BBC1 right now. Otherwise enter iplayer tommorow. Matic is literraly the star of the highlight reel as Gullit analyses our midfield dysfunction. Every single clip.

He made a header in the opponents half that was short. Cahill overcommitted, got done. The pass still came to Luiz and he missed it, and you are talking about a short header in opponents half.

Did you even notice that Burnleys best chance today was caused by Kante letting his man get goal side and run free to take a shot at Courtois? No, but you are talking about Matic short header in opponents half because some folk who know little about midfield balance have been screaming his name all year?

Midfield was not an issue today. Burnley completely bypassed the midfield with long balls, that's why we asked for Fabregas.

Matic had a poor game today but the reason for the draw is that we created 2 shots on goal today. So to repeat Nateevs question, how is Matic responsible for today's draw?
The simple answer is that Matic was responsible for the goal we conceded. You can argue that we should have created more chances after the Burnley equaliser but the fact remains that we were 1-0 up, Matic conceded a stüpid foul and a set-piece specialist capitalised on that by scoring the goal that earned Burnley a point.

You already conceded that Matic had a poor game, so the people shouting Matic's name clearly had a point. Not sure why you had to compose so many paragraphs if in the end you admitted that Matic was actually shït.
