typical of most low lives no matter how long they have lived.... They live mundane lives and are satisfied in that while youths like us strive for excellence in every way....

To Nihilist... this is why I work weekends... I have a gigantic future to build unlike you who have reached your mundane apex.... and I have so much engagements that combines work and studies and certain projects..... This is "my building time" and I am not wasting it... smiley

But you.... ten years after university education.. this is all you can give the world and the environment around you. Pity.

Not too late though... Col. sanders founded KFC at a much later age.... wink

the point komekn and most of us are trying to make is that, once you're not white, you'll never really be considered a permanent option for England, especially if you're African

Apart from Dele Alli (who is mixed), I doubt England has another player of African origin in their squad.....and please, don't mention Barkley, if dem no tell you say that one papa na negro, you no go know
OK let's look at it this way.

How many dual nationality players good enough to play from England have been treated the way you described?

Lastly..... after 10yrs of post-university experience, "this" is what you have to give the world.... Huh??

Man..... you are an irritating low life..... gosh!!!

Berra go take a time off and think hard about the absolute stupidity you displayed here today.... For a man your age... it's such a shame.... and a pity

So sad that you have to work on a weekend. I sympathise with you. I on the other hand don't have to work weekends so I can afford to attend live sports games on a regular basis.

Good luck with your studies bro. I know it can be difficult supporting yourself with a long hour, low paying agency job while still having maintain good grades at school. May the good Lord crown your efforts with success. See you at the top bro.

Jamaica and other Carribean countries are not footballing nations, so, going to play there will not be a better choice to England.

I mean where the country is a footballing nation eg of you're eligible to play for countries like Nigeria, Egypt, Cameroon, Ghana, Ivory Coast, Senegal etc.

A country like Kenya, for instance, that isn't a footballing nation, may not miss a player who opts for England, but why opt for England when you can get accolades elsewhere?
You may be right but I guess that we can only consider the evidence in front of us - right now skin colour is not really an obstacle to playing for England so any black boy of dual origin knows that he can play for a higher ranked football nations like England instead of Nigeria if they are good enough.

apart from Dele Alli and Barker, which other guy has dual nationality on that list?

It is not just black, but immigrant players. The English team is nothing like the French team. Danny Rose, Kyle Walker, Sturridge, Walcott, may be black, but certainly, they are all English.

Even the ones with dual nationality that play for England have one white parent, so they technically can't be called 'black'
All of those guys were eligible to play for Jamaica or other Caribbean countries. UK is not like the US - everybody knows his papa's house.

A lot Of Nigerian origin players haven't come to the realisation that. There is still a preference for white players. You are there because there isn't a white boy to compete with you.

Then you may be given one cap so you can't play for anyone else. Zaha was lucky that his England cap was not in a competitive game.

Now he is playing for Cote de Ivoire.
I seriously disagree with this. Considering how many black people there are in the England first team, it makes no sense to still think that race us that much of a factor in the national selection.

Kyle Walker, Danny Rose, Chris smalling, Sterling, Alli, Walcott and Sturridge are guaranteed starters for England.

I think it's more likely that Nigerian players who are somewhat good and think they have a chance with the 3 lions will immediately prefer England e.g Agbonlahor, Ibe, Barkley, Alli etc...and the really really crap ones will want to play for Naija eg Carlton Cole, Abbey George, the Sodjes and Carl Ikeme

Up until your female friends insulted me, you and I were having a civil discussion about Mikel. I also made some posts about Kante.

2. I respond to her.
3. Joe comes out to say I deserved the insult
4.I respond to him
5. You come out to say I need to be lobotomised
6. I respond to you.
7. You pettily start mentioning everybody in the sports section and warn them not to quote me, and keep harping on about family

In each case, yourself and your group of friends were the aggressors. All I did was clapback

but does the fact that one is a Nigerian great not make him an entity in football?

If FIFA were to make a list of Top 5 greatest achievers in football in each country and Mikel's name enters such a list, does that not make him am entity?

It's okay for someone to say "Mikel is not world class" or "Mikel is unimportant in world football" (which could even spark an argument", but saying Mikel is a nonentity in football is flawed. He is an entity in Nigeria and Africa, we are part of the world, so by extension, if you mention world football, Mikel will make up the list of entities

Name a player who currently plays for a Nigerian team. What's the first name likely to pop into the head of most people of the world?
I was being pretty specific in that I was only discussing Mikel's club career, and in the last 6 years, Mikel had pretty much been an irrelevant player at Chelsea bar one or two moments. This is a fact that be verified with appearance stats or fan testimony.

All you're doing is trying to make excuses for why you had to feel offended.

I have to disagree with you here, this is football we are allowed to have a view on a Player, It would Surprise you that Calling Mikel a World Class Player would be taken as an Insult to actual world Class player and people who actually follow the game.

Him saying Mikel is a Non-entity in footballing scheme is not actually as bad as you make it Look. He Might be a Nigerian great but he hasn't achieved anything of note to be discussed in the larger scheme of football.
I didn't even call him a non-entity in football, I called him a non-entity in his last 6 years at Chelsea, which is an important distinction as it sets the context.

Oddly enough Joe seemingly has no problem with jungle girl cussing out not just me, but the whole freaking country when she called Nigeria "a cursed country filled with ingrates" in her bid to defend Mikel.

You can't have a rational discussion with a person who is determined to be offended. That's just life my G.

Stop exonerating yourself from this. You are the one who stooped so low as calling a true hero of our Jersey a Nonentity. Yet You are trying to take the high moral ground. You are at fault here and not safarigirl. Yes, I did not like her reply but such statement from you is as low as any insult can get.
You are a clown. Mikel was a non-entity at Chelsea in the final years of his career there. That's a fact. I mean this is a guy that was clearly fit and Conte completely refused to play him, and even insisted that Mikel was injured, much to Mikel's amusement.

How relevant can a man be, if he only played on 36% of the league games he was eligible for over the last 7 years? How is he not a non-entity at Chelsea.

Obviously if your friend failed to understand context and comes out blazing due her profound lack of ignorance, I can't do anything about that..but I definitely expected more from you based in your reputation.

TheGoodJoe:

To the point Ancelotti left, Mikel has already done a lot to put himself to of the pile. Then the other runs after Ancelotti certified him World Class. As I said, I am not ready to argue the dynamics. Trying to cut off Mikel’s run before Ancelotti is trying to tell a half story. He conquered.
But Ancelotti's reign was the watershed in Mikel's Chelsea career.

2010/2011 season saw Mikel make 28 league starts. After that season till the day he left, Mikel never made up 20 league starts again .
So it's clear that we can actually split Mikel's Chelsea career into 2 distinct phases- Pre 2010 and Post 2010

Pre 2010 was the period in Mikel's career where he showed great promise under Mourinho, Scolari and Ancelotti. In fact it was under Ancelotti that I think Mikel played his best football at the Base of the diamond formation in 09, and as part of a 3 in 2010.

As soon as Ancelotti left AVB dropped Mikel and the rest is history.

So when you say Mikel was World class, I can only presume that you mean during the Pre 2010 phase of Mikel's Chelsea tenure...because it cannot be post 2010.
