raumdeuter: Cahill scores more headers though but he is 0.2M more expensive than Luiz. Hopefully one day one of those random Luiz freekick go enter
The funny thing about Ake is that his price will now rise since he is a Chelsea defender. Even Aina and Zouma who havent played are more expensive than him If he can get first team shirt he would represent the mother of all bargains...armed robbery level even. I expect that his value will be exponentially dropping as previous owners realise his new lack of utility and start selling. |

Ibime: Not in time to profit him FPL wise. FPL is a different beast from real life.
If Conte decides to ease Ake in or rotate him with Alonso, then that is weeks of scoring nil points from Ake. Ake don cast badly for FPL. Na Chambers be the next draft now. |

bigkesh: Nihilist thinks Ake can't make our Eleven? Lol
Not surprised at all He most likely won't be a stater this season barring a severe loss of form or injuries. Infact I suspect he's been called back to compete with Kennedy for the position of understudy to Alonso. Cahill, Luiz and Azpi are likely going no where, though Cahill might be the most vulnerable of that 3. Ake would still have to compete with Zouma, Terry and even Ivanovic for a CB slot, so there's no vacancy there. From the last 2 games, I guess Conte doesn't really trust Alonso. ..the question now is whether a guy who's spent the last 5-6 months training and playing at centre-back can automatically seize the shirt from an out and out(albeit) foolish wingback - My answer would be No. |

At this stage, the boy is already feeling like a senior player. Exactly....remove him from guaranteed EPL minutes and start playing him piecemeal minutes in cups. Not good enough |

hensben: Good to hear that. I don't think that's good news at all...at least not for him. He was a guaranteed starter at Bournemouth. Now he's not guaranteed a starting position anymore. Infact, he's barely guaranteed a bench space. Why didn't Conte just leave him to continue his education at Bournemouth? |

ChristineC: apology for what If you think I joke with my other room duties you are on your own. Basically 'we' all use the other room so no qualms.
. Very good, because I am about to send you back there post haste. *you referred me to other expensive players (all attackers remember) and their 'performances' are weighed in goals This is the original reason why you went off on a tangent emiting crappy utterances as you went. Let me remind you of my original post here: Nihilist: What should you realistically expect from the world's most expensive player?
How can you pay 89 million pounds for a player and not expect him to win MOTM every week? I would expect him to be MOTM in training sessions sef for that amount.
I don't think you understand the select group that Pogba belongs to. Go and check the performance of previous most expensive players and compare to Pogba Not only is there a complete absence of the word 'goals', there is also nothing to imply that the world's most expensive players must always be attackers. You basically looked at my post, found it boring, composed a new argument in your head, and proceeded to argue with yourself. Pogba's early performance and even recent performance has been below what is expected from an 89m pound player. Your own fans are not even complaining about a relative lack of goals and assists, they are complaining about his inability to pass on time, and his inability to do the right thing at the right time. I think you live in the UK for some reason, but if you don't, ask around. The Adidas advert with Pogba dabbing about under the bright neon letters 'I came to create' has only just stopped showing at half-time intervals during most games, presumably because somebody realised that Pogba was only creating a headache for the advertising company. Given this level of hype and the boy's price tag(and his ridiculous haircuts -shoutout to his barber), let us rewind to my original question - what is a reasonable expectation from Pogba? One legover and 2 dabs per match? [s]**i checked the most expensive goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon valued at €52m in 2001 and his 'performances' exclude goals. • Rogerio Ceni had 109 career goals • Jose Lius Chilavert had 62 career goals • Dimitar Ivankov had 42 career goals. Why should I not expect goals from the most expensive goalkeeper, according to your assignment? after all goals win games, not clean sheets![/s] Stupid analogy not worth a reply [s]***i have had the luxury of checking up the most expensive center backs. David Luiz valued at £50m in 2014 and has scored only 10 goals for clubs. John Stones valued at £48m has only 1 career goal. • Ronald Koeman scored 239 career goals • Daniel Passarella scored 134 career goals • Fernando Hierro scored 133 career goals[/s]. Stupid analogy not worth a reply Paul Pogba is not exemption. He has weighed in with hid fair share of goals and assists. I see you pointing out Fabregas for 100 assists or whatever. That's a mischievious analogy because an assist is only credited should your teammate be shrewed enough to score from the pass. How many chances were created by the midfielder?. Completely irrelevant to this discussion because My post on Fabregas was directed to Dopejemi and discussing something different. My post prior to that mentioning Fab also mentions the fact that an assist takes two to tango so no points for repeating that here. If you must know tough, Fabregas has almost always been amongst the top chance creators wherever he plays and I can give you charts for that later. Basically what you've done is looked at Pogba and said 'If Keepers are not expected to provide goals and assists, then Pogba must not be expeted to provide goals and assists... Even Pogba is looking at you like 'Bruh' https://cdn.images.express.co.uk/img/dynamic/67/590x/562316_1.jpg |

ChristineC: I don't care what eulogies he get, from where I am standing; Local records all round.
If you are expecting goals and assists from midfielders to justify anything, I see no reason we can't expect the same from goalkeepers, especially when my record tells me that some goalkeepers managed to rake in more career goals than some outfield players. That's because you are a woman, and women generally are not to be allowed where ball is being discussed...unless it's in the inner room and the balls are different Maybe you should tell us about Ronaldo's cleansheet records or Messi's interception tally. Buffon is the most expensive GK and has justified his fee as the greatest GK in modern history. What has Pogba done to justify his Transfer fee? |

ChristineC: what will i see aside goals and assists as they are all attackers anyway. Guanluigi Buffon cost €52m in the summer of 2001 and is still the most expensive goalkeeper I guess. How many goals and assist has he got yet? I know Edwin van dar Sar got the odd assist here and there for MUFC, he cost about £7m. I know Jose Luis Chilavert got the odd goals here and there, he cost less than £5m. What's up with the world's most expensive goalkeeper?? What a terrible analogy. Why don't you ask how many cleansheets Suarez and Cristiano Ronaldo have, or how many tackles and interceptions Gareth Bale or Kaka have. A goalkeeper is a goalkeeper. When you spend 52m on a Keeper, this is what you buy Buffon holds the record for the most clean sheets in Serie A, and with the Italian national team; he also holds the record for the longest streak without conceding a goal in Serie A history Buffon is easily the greatest goalkeeper of the modern age, and if you ask any Manyoo fan, they will tell you that VDS is in your top 2 keepers ever. So why shouldn't we expect goals and assists from the 89m midfielder? I can see you are looking for goals from your keepers so maybe it's cleansheets that Pogba should be giving us...and even there he is failing too. |

ChristineC: this is why it is important to follow timeline of events. If you have the time, you can read Zlatan's appraisal of Paul Pogba at the heat of '£89m'. What he said is true, but more importantly, when he said it.
Anthony Martial did himself big favors by flying out the tracks like an F-liner jet before merchants armed to teeth with clubs and sharp daggers like Nihilist could say "Mallam cut suya". You cannot even begin to imagine the rocks that would have landed on him had he managed anything like a slow start... and all for what? £57m will fill the air; never mind he was a virtually unknown.
You should be thankful the management got the signings they did last summer if you are a Manchester United fan. No championship winning team was built in 6 months. I only entered Martial's issue when you guys claimed he was the best U23, U25 and so on in the league. |

dopeJemi: And pogba hasn't? Does anybody just pop in the world's best 11? And to think he's only 23, by the time pogba is done with his career, it will be an abomination to mention fabregas in the same sentence with pogba
Correct me if i'm wrong but i dont think fabregas has ever been compared with the best midfielders in the world and even labelled as one of the best midfielders in the world Lmao Fabregas had made the Balon Dor 23man shortlist 5 times by the time he was Pogba's age. |

You don't have to be hypocritical, be objective and you'll know he is one of the smartest midfielders in the world and no one is in his level in the epl Fabregas has a brilliant career to look back at and over 100 epl assists. Pogba isn't even playing that well...Ibrahimovic has been the saviour of United in recent games. There's a reason why all of Pogba's assists have been to Ibra...the old man is brilliant and can convert a crappy pass into a goal...like at Crystal Palace for example. |

ChristineC: there was nothing 'constructive' about the slating of Paul Pogba and Zlatan Ibrahimović on this board, especially Paul Pogba. All I read was underlined by £89m, it all came down to it. New players may need time, but no, an '£89m midfielder' cannot be allowed such luxury. He must constantly win MOTM from the off.
Was the right formation considered during those 'criticisms'? The midfield combinations? His adapting period? His age cum potentials for the future? No! £89m and nothing else matters..
