afrodoc2:45m is too much sef. Plus he's African so probably has a weak heart or liver or next organ. Plus, AFCON enforced absence. If we wanted a decent fast black african defenders, we might as have kept Papy |
afrodoc2:Nobody has ever accused Chelsea of being prudent, but it will be a new low if we splash 60m on a player who doesn't appear to be anything other than a 'decent' defender. |
Pataki:Why are you always trying to rope me into travails? Doctor slap you with scalpel, instead of you to shout "ye!" you were shouting nihilist. The bavarians used your head to play corner kick, instead of you to rub iodine on your kokos, you were looking for nihilist. Take your beatings like you're supposed to bros. Leave me out it. ![]() |
sinizia:If only he was so kind to pataki. He dismembered that one without anaesthetia |
E be like say sinizia never know say Afrodoc2 don renounce his hippocratic oath. Doctor turned assasin like Harold Shipman. Dont test that Fella cos Afro beats! |
Emaprince:You don't know him very well then. Go to Barca or Bayern thread and ask for his body count. The guy is an e-serial killer. |
Na to just go home steadily remain, after this kain brushing. |

Some would argue that Pogba is not even in his prime yet sef. |
bigkesh:I generally believe that player recruitment is done better on the continent anyway, but not for any of the reasons you've listed up there. The first thing you need to understand is that the UK as a country is a less appealing destination to many foreign players than say Italy France and Spain. Italy, France, and Spain benefit from better weather, lower taxation, and cultural similarity. Their press/paparazzi are less aggressive, and the game is played at a slower pace, and arguably the chics are hotter sef. Skegness or Nice/Monaco. Blackpool or Marbella/Ibiza. Eastbourne or Palermo. I know which beaches I would rather be on. Ask Di Maria. The second thing you need to know, is that the people who carry out these transfers, especially in the UK, are business men, not coaches. They are using business eyes to look at the transfer. While a manager can see how his target can fit into his team, and use that as justification for the transfer, the money men tend to look at the player as an asset and look at his individual(and potential) achievements to justify whther on not they will be able to reap a really good ROI. That's why you will hear rumours of the board insisting that a certain player must play either because he is sponsored by Adidas, or to raise the club's profile in Azerbaijan or fuckknows. The third thing you need is that players themselves don't like stress. They would rather go to a place where the title is guaranteed(or almost guaranteed) than EPL where oloriburukus like West Ham and West Brom will come and derail your title race and even give you a career ending injury on top. Finally, you need to know that the likes of Madrid/Barca/Juve/Bayern are the football equivalent of Oil Companies in the Nigerian Job Market. Look at Ronaldo who won EPL/UCL with Manyoo and still practically forced a move away to Spain. When those clubs come calling, sometimes all the money in the world is not enough to deter your players from answering their call. The question you should be asking is, despite the fact that Manyoo has been one of the richest clubs in the world for over a decade, City essentially being an apparatus of the Abu Dhabi state government, and Chelsea spending Oligarch money, why is Pogba is the first global superstar in his prime to come to the EPL since inception in 1992? |
English clubs earn more money. Last Year Aston Villa earned more money from TV revenue than Real Madrid earned from winning the Champions League. That's why, you will see player x going to Spain or Italy for 15m pounds, but once an Enlglish club should gboriwole, they will quote him 45m. That's the real reason why it seems like we're buying average and untested products for large amounts of money. Just look across to Manchester and check how much world class players actually cost English clubs, and you will never need to write these your epistles again.

3KINGZ18:Pretty much. For 1049 pounds, the gaming performance I get out of my laptop is probably less than what is obtainable on a PS4 that cost 700 pounds less at launch 3 years ago. I read that the OP is saving up for a machine. I reiterate that the PS4 offers superior value for money from a gaming perspective. A laptop that would match or surpass PS4 gaming performance would be hovering too close to the million Naira mark than most people would find comfortable at today's exchange rate. |
AKBliv010:I didn't get the impression that the OP was fully aware of how much a 'gaming' laptop can cost these days, otherwise he would know the answer to his own question. I didn't want a Desktop machine. My PS4 is setup in a spare bedroom and serves as my fixed gaming solution. I just wanted something that I could play strategy games on, in the living room, while my wife watches her boring soaps. |
AKBliv010:I have a PS4 for regular gaming needs. |
Gaming laptops are ridiculously expensive. I just picked a HP Omen last week for just over 1000 Pounds. That's with 16gb DDR4 Ram and an Nvidia GTX965M card. I really wanted the 980M card as that would be future proof, but I didn't think the extra 400 pounds outlay was good value for money, as I only play FM and Total War on my laptop anyway. I would advise you to go for a PS4. Used games are easily available and affordable, and you can keep up with the latest games while enjoying decent graphical fidelity. |
SailorXY:I know that you will claim apollo when James Collins escaped without incident for his tackle on Costa, or when Winston Reid put both hands on Oscar to bring him down in the box and Ref didn't give the pen. Or maybe you didnt see when Kante got a yellow for a soft first fowl less than 3 minutes into the game? Campaign against Chelsea is a real thing. ![]() |
peterbrownfgc:Why don't you use that 10k to join our Stakers league. There are currently 20 of us in the league, with 200k prize money to be won. |
Can you tree hugging hippies get the fvck off the thread abeg? Go and moralize elsewhere, and take your pink font using homos with you. I can't believe this crap. 2 pages of moaning over a diss that didn't even land properly. Kokaneprodigy actually has a job as evidenced below so Ibime's bars were not even factual. kokaneprodigy:So please for the love of God, let's stop acting like sissies here because one nigga tried to hurt another guys feelings. This is the sports section yo! And all ignorant pink font using homos should better clear off. We don't cater to your kind here. |
SailorXY:*sips chilled toothpaste* |
dopeJemi:I need a side eye emoticon on this Forum for mofos like these ![]() |
Brestar:You need to toughen up in this section. Text isn't the most suitable medium for conveying nuance, so we clapback at any perceived shade whether its justified or not. ![]() All I did was tell you to Park Well and Take Several Seats, which is hardly insulting given the terrain here, but for what it's worth(and for being so cute), I apologise. Oya come here for a cuddle. ![]() |
knightsTempler:James is a very good player but certainly not for that price. Send him up the M25 to Maga United abeg. |
lalaboi:I nor jab am at all sef. That one just dey jabo unnecessarily. |
Ok enough moralising please. We all misyarn from time to time. Besides this is the sports section. We bathe in blood here. Judging by the amount of likes on his posts, Kokaneprodigy already took the W anyway. Let's move on from the sermon on the mount sessions please.... AdisaOwala, you wey call Dayo a "contour-headed, shameless, pathetic, shallow minded douchèbag with a propensity to stretch the borders of idiocy/shocking stupidity'' wan dey form holy man too? ![]() |
lordfalcao:Something like that. I think maybe 433 in attack and 4141 defending. |
Right, now my thoughts on the game. Positives. 1. Fitness levels seem very high unlike last season. Everybody was running, running, running. I liked that a lot. 2.Hazard showed that threat that he possesses. If he keeps this up, then we can only expect good things. 3. Fullbacks are bombing forward both sides with Kante dropping in to central defence. I think that Kante is a blessing from the gods. Look how high Azpi was pressing when he caused that penalty. Iva also looked very good yesterday. All because Kante provided the defensive platform. 4. Costa still knows where the net is. Negatives. 1. Conte- I know it's still early days, but I'm not particularly impressed by his tactics. The first fifteen minutes saw us sit very deep, while the likes of Collins were driving from deep and tapping around in their half. Also the 433 combo of Matic Oscar and Kante us way too defensive. With Oscar making the runs from deep, and Kante sitting, it was up to Matic to spray the defence splitting passes and create chances, and he was woeful in this role. With chances from midfield a rarity, Costa was forced to come deeper to collect the ball. Unfortunately, Costa is not blessed with technique and dribbling ability, and so was unable to drive the ball from deep to goal. The result of this was a scarcity of quality chances, and the only shots we had from inside the box were from set pieces. I think that Fabregas would have offered more in the 3rd midfielder role, especially with Oscar and Kante to protect him. We relied on individuality and unforced mistakes rather than team strategy to win yesterday. We must do better in future games. 2. Hazard doing that thing that FBS always complained about last season. Slowing down the game for no reason. Gary Neville said that he was shouting at his screen last night everytime Hazard decided against running at his man, and chose to slow to walking pace and pass backwards instead. There was a period when the right half of West Hams defence (Antonio and Collins) was on a yellow. Hazard for some reason refused to run at them and cause them problems. Must do better. 3.Willian and Pedro are kak. We really need them to step up production there. All in all, I thought it was a good game and really enjoyEd it. Looking forward to a positive future. |
Brestar:Its not by force to comment. If you didnt understand what I wrote, and the context I wrote it in, you can either ask for clarification, or you can park well, on ya inner light, and take several seats. |
Ibime:We dey house |
Costa will struggle in a 433. Matic should be dropped for Fab. Good Game. Welcome to EPL Conte. |
Costa Finishing 99 |
Chei! GOAL BALLLLLLL!!!! |
