SailorXY: some coaches are just pragmatic & overly cautious - like van Gaal - limiting attacking instincts from whoever's not a "striker".
Ancelloti's case is nauseating tho. I can understand van Gaal's massive "stability" task this season. Yimu LVG ko LTV ni |

It's not natural seeing bale forced to pass back and stop taking players on.
Bale is a beast that wants to run at defenders and shoot. He has been caged by Ancelotti and the fear of Ronaldo.

raumdeuter: What is competitive? Isnt it a league where no one can predict the winners? PSG, Montpellier, Lille, Marseille Bordeaux Lyon have all won the league in the last 7yrs.
What could be more competitive than this?
You claim Bundesliga isnt competitive because Bayern wins most of the time, I gave you a league that changes winners, you still claim thats not compettiive
Is being English the only criteria for a league to be competitive? Championship, League1, and League2 change Champions every year, nobody would say they are 'competitive' leagues... Yes they are 'competions' and there might even been keenly 'contested' games every weekend, but nobody actually cares to watch because of the lack of talent on show |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Club World Cup Champions 2025-2029 by Nihilist: 7:01pm On May 13, 2015 |
raumdeuter: The most competitive league is the french league almost a new winner every other season.
In the last 5 yrs the same number of teams have won EPL and La Liga, In the last 10 yrs same thing, In the last 15yrs same thing
The impoverished la Liga clubs still do better than the money miss road EPL teams French League is not competitive...it just lacks talents. I remember when Lyon won like 7 or 8 seasons straight and then the manager quit because it was too easy. French league haemorrhages talent. The top ones go the big clubs in Europe, the average ones go to Newcastle, and the shitt ones are left to compete... French league=Championship |

Debroslink: But the problem now is that when this same Barca and Madrid clash with the elites of EPL, it's very rare for them to be defeated.
That EPL is "competitive", does not make it the best. Nigerian league is also competitive because teams @ the bottom can also beat teams @ the top.
And concerning wealth distribution, well, other la liga clubs are now fighting for their rights. If their rights is granted, and they have the money, then may God help the EPL clubs in European competition.
La liga clubs no get money, yet them they compete wella for Europe. Epl clubs that have the money are struggling in Europe. What an Irony! The only 'competitors' in Spain are the big two, and they both have 1 of the best players in the history of football. Like Chairman said, Atleti are an anomaly and owe much of their success to their coach. It says a lot that the league champions and CL finalists(almost won) could not hold on to their best player( and top striker). This year never end and their best player is already being priced. How can you consolidate on success when you have bills to pay? They must sell...weakening instead of strengthening because they are simply not getting the money to compete. |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Club World Cup Champions 2025-2029 by Nihilist: 6:02pm On May 13, 2015 |
This thing is not rocket science. Like our Chairman said, La Liga is top heavy, and packed with dross to make up the numbers.
Just like Bundesliga.
Dayo even admitted only a few pages back that a season where Bayern wins only the bundesliga is not really a success to him.
The gulf in quality between Bayern and Wolfsburg or Schalke is wider than the gap between Babangida's front teeth.
Gulf in quality between Madrid/Barca and closest contenders Atleti is a gaping chasm.
Compare the gradual striation in quality between City/Chelsea to Arsenal/Manyoo to Pool/Spurs to Everton/Southampton and so on...
You can see the difference.
How can you be beating people 6-0, 7-0, 9-0 every weekend, when no be government work?
Even monkey post or coal tar game, if the beating don dey too much, the owner go vex carry en ball go house.
The wealth distribution in laliga and Bayern is ridiculous and unfair to the rest of its contestants. |

mfm04622: India is much more bigger, much more diverse in all ramifications than Nigeria! India has over 1000 tribes with different languages. They have more religions than Nigeria. Why are they this prosperous? Look for another excuse India is a 3rd world country too with serious issues of corruption. As 'prosperous' as they are, they are still recieving humanitarian aid, and more than half it's population lives in poverty http://www.poverties.org/poverty-in-india.htmlNow that we've got that out of the way, I believe that India is still ahead of Nigeria because India is 1: The site of several civilizations involved in global politics over a thousand years 2: culturally far more homogenous than Nigeria, which has incentivisized the common man to self-identify as Indian which has led to... 3: Higher levels of patriotism amongst the the population manifesting in the wave of ultra-nationalism that swept Narendra Modi in to power. |
