We should have seen what he could do before going all out for him. Good thing is the signings are not for a specific style of play. So, if he gets sacked, we won’t need to buy another set of players. |

These things are not as they look like. Another manager might use the same condemned tools to qualify for Europe. Because Amorim came 15th does not mean the players are bad. |

ChristineC: the strategy United have approached this summer with is different. bids have only been made after getting a greenlight from a player they are interested in or his camp. I think there were interests in Gyokeres and Osihmen as well but some terms or interests probably didn't align. Strategy that led to paying 70-80m each for average players? There are cheaper options out there for less. In any case, until Amorim gets it right or get sacked before we can make any progress. If we like, we swap players with Bayern or Real Madrid. Same outcome is guaranteed. |

dreamxhaser: Honestly, saying that Amorim is the problem is a bit too harsh. The players just aren't good enough. We've had different managers, but it's the same story—so is Amorim really the problem?
Who among the players in the midfield would make it into the starting eleven for teams like Chelsea, Manchester City, or Liverpool? We all know the answer is none.
The only thing these players know how to do is play counter-attacking football. I would prefer that we just play counter attacking long balls and skip the midfield, but it seems the club doesn't want that. So let's forget about it and focus on the pressing issues.
Let's be honest, Cunha and Mbuemo made our attack more effective than the days of Rashford and his teammates. For the first time in years, I can feel some level of hope whenever the ball is moving forward, unlike before, when I was 90% certain they would make stupid runs or just pass the ball backward.
That shows you how players can change the dynamic of a team. For now, we don't have the privilege of playing every player in the position we want. The only messed-up thing is that we're going for a striker instead of a midfielder. Lol, una no dey learn. Amorim has already purchased 3 players, plus he bought Ugarte at Sporting before United snapped him up. Until we get to 7-9 new players purchased for Amorim without any improvement in play before una eyes go clear. Well, I won’t be surprised if at that time, you and your guys come here to tell us that he has not been given his players. We dey here together! |

eph12: ETH made top 4, then made top 8 I think, then got Hojlund as his main striker that has never scored more than 10 goals in a season I think. Then he bought another half or semi striker. Mourinho made top 4 and won Europa, then wept bitterly for lack of players. We have been here long enough to know that when we make champions league, the club become reluctant to spend. Its only when we loose out that they start panic buying players for unnecessary amount and offering undeserving wages to players. We were not born yesterday I agree with you. The above happened under the Glazers. Thank goodness we have someone else calling the shots. I am sure it would be different this time. If we make UCL, we will spend more to go for the league title. At this time, it’s looking like survival mode under Amorim. Top 8 will be a significant progress vs last season’s 15-17th position. |

I am genuinely surprised to hear from folks here that we want the club to sign players for the club and not the manager. That’s good news, and I believe Sir Jim is working towards that. I just hope that you guys won’t come back saying that we did not buy players that can play Amorim’s 3-4-3 formation. |

eph12: No top manager will be happy to work with the tools we currently have. Even those that are optimistic, their optimism will clear after some games.
Only average and below average managers that are just happy to be the manager of Manchester United will be satisfied with the players we have currently. Their only goal will be to manage the situation and try to make top 4 as much as possible. Nothing more Let’s start from trying to make top 4. Whether we buy a brand new squad or not, we are not competing for the title in 2-3 years from now. Infact, Amorim should make top 8 first with what he has, or do we need a brand new squad to make top 8? |

patrickmuf: You think you are making sense, right?
You sign a manager because you see him doing well at another club...He played a certain way, and that is what attracted you, but when he arrives, instead of giving him the resources he needs to deliver and begin to tell him stories...Are you not incompetent?
If the board you so love to defend are not incompetent, why did they opt for Amorim, who favours a 3-5-2 formation instead of a coach who plays 4-3-3?
If can't see that the board is to be blamed in all of these then, I can't help you nor can anyone here. Did you see Chelsea vs PSG? Did you read comments from Palmer and how he praised his manager for his flexibility to take advantage of PSG’s weakness? Have you ever seen Amorin adjust or react to the opposition’s strategy before or during games? I don’t care whatever style you are bringing, just play to the strength of your team and be a bit flexible until you get tools that would work for whatever you are doing otherwise, na relegation, especially in the EPL. We saw that last season and may not escape it this season unless something happens. Some of you think that things must be on a straight line. |

patrickmuf: Who are the players that left and started balling? McTominay? Lol...We all saw him at United, he is just there.
Who else? Rashford? Antony? They were so good that Villa and Betis didn't buy them for less than half their market value?
Nobody is making excuses for Amorim...We are asking the management of the club to back him up in the transfer market like other clubs are doing, so that he doesn't have any excuses if and when he fails...
Imagine a Spurs fan arguing that since they won the Europa League, Thomas Frank should work with players at his disposal rather than sign Kudus and Gibbs White...Won't you think the fan is mad? Patrick, don’t do this now. We all know that the players you mentioned did / are doing great outside UTD. Let’s be honest, we (everyone including the fans) have a way of de-marketing players and making them look so bad that even other clubs will struggle to take a chance on them. |

Leyqute: LMAO.
Go all out like when you pursued Sancho for 2 years and eventually signed him for the asking price? Or when you panicked and bought Casemiro and Antony for big bucks after ETH lost consecutive games at the beginning of the season?
LMAO. Did we sign players for previous managers or not? Whether they were panic or expensive buys, we backed all our previous managers. Unfortunately, not enough funds this time, plus it seems the new sheriff is not a fan of sufficiently backing people that can’t show workings. |

dreamxhaser: Honestly, if I were Amorim, I would play complete counter-attack football next season, which is this player's strongest skill set. I promise you will finish in the top four.
The season Erik ten Hag finished in the top four was because he quickly switched to a counter attack strategy in his first season after a few matches. We mustn't play beautiful football. Counter-attack is something that's very effective in winning tournaments like the UCL. As for the league, it will give us a comfortable top-four finish.
With time, we can gradually readjust the squad to suit the style of play that would win the domestic league. This is the flexibility we asked for last season. They said he won’t be able to switch back. We have backed managers with several new players in the past. At this time and given our finances, it’s impossible to do so, we can only do so much for now. The only reasonable thing is for Amorim to show workings and his mettle by hook or crook before we can go all out to change the squad for him. That guy and his supporters are just too rigid and stubborn/incorrigible. |
