In what obviously appeared a show of solidarity, expression of genuine friendship and comradeship; the family members, friends, numerous relations, business associates, former Imo State House of Assembly colleagues, political allies across party lines and serving federal lawmakers, last Friday, February 9, 2024, stormed Amaekpu- Ohafia country home of late Ezinne Magaret Nwanyibuka Ndukwe, mother in-law of Rt. Hon. Ozurigbo Ugonna (OZB), for the celebration of her life and times. The well organized, highly coordinated, and colorful funeral ceremony took place in a very peaceful atmosphere as the remains of Mama Magaret Nwanyibuka Ndukwe were committed to mother earth at her late husband- Mr. Paul Ume Ndukwe's home in Amaekpu - Ohafia LGA, Abia State.

During her life time, among Ezinne Magaret Nwanyibuka Ndukwe's sons in-law that took very good care of her was the former Deputy Speaker of the Imo State House of Assembly and immediate past House Committee Chairman on Niger Delta Affairs; the most outstanding federal lawmaker in Imo State for the record time, Rt. Hon. Ozurigbo Ugonna , who represented Nkwerre/Isu/Nwangele/Federal Constituency in the House of Represenatives between 2015 -2023 before he was unfortunately removed through the legal sledge hammer of Nigeria's Supreme Court judgement. No thanks to the judiciary.

It was simply an epoch-making event as the burial ceremony brought together her children, grandchildren, sons-in-laws from near and wide, including serving members of the National Assembly, former Deputy governor of Anambra State, a range of political elite from Abuja, Abia, Imo, business class, industry experts, delegations from two Nigeria's giants network providers; MTN and Airtel, politicians across party lines, different support groups, friends of OZB International, a select management and staff of his business conglomerate as they stormed Ohafia LGA, Abia State, in total solidarity for Rt. Hon. Ozurigbo Ugonna , who buried mother -in- law in grandstyle.


Until her death, Ezinne Magaret Nwanyibuka Ndukwe, a devouted catholic who put her trust and hope; morning, afternoon and night on God, lived a life of industry and purpose, getting involved in selfless community service and church activities. For her love and sacrifice to family, she took up the responsibility of catering for her children's wellbeing when she lost her beloved husband, Mr. Paul Ume Ndukwe, in 2007. Unrelenting and unwavering in her commitment to raise up her children in the way of the Lord, Mama continued to teach them the values of christianity, hardwork, honesty, humility, good morales and the need to rely only on God. This is exemplified in all her children whenever you have a personal encounter with them.


During his homily, the presiding Parish Priest of St. Anthony's Catholic Church Amaekpu Ohafia, Rev. Fr. Dr. Francis Onwunali, while extolling the christian virtuous of Ezinne Magaret Ndukwe who dedicated her life time in the service of God and humanity said; `` the deceased had a hope of eternity having completed her race and kept the faith``, urging the living to live a life worthy of emulation as all are pilgrims here on earth and must answer the call of life someday.



In a glowing tribute to his late mother- in-law, Ezinne Magaret Nwanyibuka Ndukwe, Rt. Hon. Ozurigbo Ugonna, a proactive former federal legislator from Imo State, who is married to Mama's last daughter, Lolo Ijeoma Ozurigbo (Nee Ndukwe), posited inter alia :


`` Late Mama Magaret Nwanyibuka Ndukwe was a great woman. A lovely and caring mother. A devoted Christian. She was an extraordinary person. I came across Mama 26 years ago when she relocated to. Owerri after the death of her husband.

Mama believed so much in my dreams and encouraged me alot in the early years of my entreprenurship in a number of ways. As students, she appreciated and encouraged me and my wife. A gentle and prayerful woman. In those days, I heard a lot of stories on how she worked so tirelessly hard to ensure the children had the best of life. Mama could have stayed longer to enjoy the fruits of her labor, but we cannot question God. She fought so hard to beat death. Yes, she won because she is now in a better place. Mama D Mama, as I fondly called her, has done her part on earth. She has fought a good fight of faith and await her crown of glory in heaven. Mama, you came , saw , and conquered. Adieu, Mama Jema, till the resurrection morning. ``

Hon. Dr. Pascal Obi, from Hon. Kingsley Uju, all powered in glowing tributes to celebrate late Ezinne Magaret Ndukwe in a show of solidarity to one of their own, Rt. Hon. Ozurigbo Ugonna .

Rt. Hon. Henry Nwawuba, Executive Secretary, National Assembly Library Trust Fund and immediate past member that represented Mbaitoli/Ikeduru Federal Constituency in the 8th and 9th National Assembly was also conspicuously present at the event.

A frontline Abuja- based Nwangele born serial entrepreneur and respected community leader, Deputy governor, United Isu Progressives Union (UIPU), Chief Engr. Amara Humphrey Anyiam, who flew into Abia State from Abuja was accompanied by Engr. Emma Onyejiri to grace the occasion to the surprise of Rt. Hon. Ugonna Ozurigbo. A show of genuine friendship and total solidarity.

Other prominent Nwangele leaders who graced the burial ceremony in far way Amaekpu Ohafia, Abia state, included but not limited to; the traditional ruler of Umuozu, Nwangele LGA, HRH Eze Okechukwu Onyejiuwa (Ohanyere lll), a former Special Adviser on Political Matters to Imo State governor, Sen. Hope Uzodimma, Dr. Batos Nwadike, a former Transition Committee Chairmen of Nwangele LGA, Hon. Chief Clifford Ojiakor, Hon. Chizobam O. Chizobam, Hon. Chief Anthony Ahaneku (Innieh Isu), Chairman of Imo State chapter of Action Alliance (AA), Barr. Jude Uzokwu, Chief Lasbery Njoku, Hon. Eugene Ohamara. Others included; Hon. Onyema Agbarakwe , Chijioke Henry Ihetu .



In what looked more like a state burial, the funeral ceremony witnessed in attendance top notch multi - national organizations like: MTN-Nigeria, Airtel, Techno Mobile, politicans across party lines , respected government functionaries in Imo, members of United Isu Progressives Union led by Engr. Celestine Opurum, different political structures, and members of the private sector.

Ezinne Margaret Charity Nwaneri is so dearly loved and would be so greatly missed!

It was a hive of activities in an atmosphere of social convivality, merriment, celebration galore, and exchange of compliments at the palatial Ugodinaobi mansion in Ideato North country home of Imo State born Ghana- based businessman and community leader, High Chief Emmanuel Nnokwute, as he gave out his daughter's hand in marriage to Mr. Michael Ngige from Alor community in Idemmili South Local Government Area of Anambra State.



The wedding ceremony between the two love birds titled: P&M Forever 2023, was simply a love story about a young lawyer, Promise, the beautiful daughter of High Chief Emmanuel Nnokwute from Umualoma community in Ideato North LGA, Imo State, and her handsome heartrob, Mr. Michael Ngige, a top civil servant in Anambra State. A case of two beautiful hearts beating very strongly as one.


The colorful wedding ceremony between Promise and Michael is one that would linger for a very long time in the memories of those in attendance . Family members both from Anambra and Imo were present; business associates and friends of the bride's father, High Chief Emmanuel Nnokwute turned out in their numbers to honour the invitation of a very good and kindhearted man.



Having met and performed all the marriage rites by the groom's family in the presence of their Umualaoma-Ideato in-laws, it became a pleasant scenario as parents of the bride, Promise, High Chief & Lolo Emmanuel Nnokwute released their blessings on the couple who held each other's hands very warmly during the pouring of traditional libations and blessings. It was simply a pleasant atmosphere filled with excitement as obviously expressed on the faces of both families, relatives and well wishers.



While releasing fatherly blessings on his daughter, Promise Nnokwute, and her heartrob, Mr. Michael Ngige, High Chief Emmanuel Nnokwute, a serial entrepreneur, successful businessman, community leader and philanthropist, prayed with a mixed of emotion:



`` The most challenging part of parenthood is the need to let your children go. While we want to hold on to them for as long as we can, wonderful events like this occur and it reminds us that we have raised them well enough to take care of themselves and the new people around them.``

`` My blessings are with you as you start a fresh journey of your life as husband and wife. May the good Lord remain the bedrock of this union and shower you with all the blessings that come with it. You shall have both male and female children, and as many as you have chosen to give birth to. You shall not lack the necessary resources to raise and train your children. ``

On a rather friendly and soft note, he urged his son in-law , Michael Ngige, to take good care of his daughter, Promise, knowing that she is a well trained child from a highly responsible and disciplined home without forgetting to emphasize that he is marrying to a well educated lady, a lawyer at that.


The bridal train adorned different glamorous styles in green, black and a touch of gold, which were the colours of the day. In her first appearance, the beautiful bride wore a combination of black and gold Ishiagu attire with beads to match her outfit. In her second appearance, her red and a touch of white outfit bespoke class and elegance.

Promise's friends were all over her during the ceremony, as they sang, danced and cheered her on as she went to meet her husband. The groom was also excited as he danced and responded to hailing from his friends. Spraying of money was another notable activity at the event, as several of the couple’s guests ‘made it rain cash’. The couple was also a sight to behold as they complemented each other beautifully.



On the part of the bride's father, High Chief Emmanuel Nnokwute (Ugodinaobi of Umualoma), his family members, relatives and friends both from Nigeria and Ghana turned up in a show of solidarity, support, and love to a kindhearted man who always comes through for his friends in good and bad times. Some of his friends who attended the traditional wedding ceremony of his daughter included but not limited to:

HRH Eze Anthony Ndubuisi Nwachukwu JP (Oreigbo N'Anya ll of Umualoma Ancient Kingdom), Convener of Ghana-Nigeria Achiever's Award, Comr. The soft speaking but sound son-in-law, Mr. Michael Ngige was also accompanied by his parents Mr & Mrs. Titus Ngige who are top public civil servants in Anambra State as his friends and associates turned up for their buddy. Among those in the colorful entourage of his men included: Hon. Barr. Amaeze Osigwe , Mr. Chidike Ngige , Charles Chukaokeke, a Media Personality, Ebuka Aronu, textile merchant, Isdore Nwaakor, a businessman,Ejezie Michael, Celestine Ngige, Ebuka Nnokwute.

The new Yam Festival is an important way of marking the beginning and end of the farming season. It is also a celebration of life, accomplishments in a community, culture and well-being . Yam, as the king of all crops , is significant to the planting and harvest season in Igboland and across West African countries; Nigeria, Ghana, etc, as it is considered a miraculous plant that signifies fertility.

It was indeed a hive of activities las weekend; a display of Igbo rich cultural heritage, celebration galore, promotion of African culture, exchange of compliments, dancing and merriment as the entire Sempe region in Ghana was practically shutdown on Sunday, December 26, 2023, during the 10th Year Anniversary/ Thanksgiving/New Yam Festival of His Royal Highness, Eze Dr. Samuel Ekezie, JP (Ugochimereze l /Ezeigbo Sempe Ghana ), as the Igbo community and creme da la creme in the Republic of Ghana turned up in their numbers to celebrate with their traditional ruler in Sempe- Ghana, Eze Ekezie.

Ever since his coronation by Igbo Community Ghana as the first sub-paramount King under Ezeigbo Ghana's traditional leadership, Ezeigbo Sempe Ghana, HRH Eze Dr. Samuel Ekezie, JP, has continued to demonstrate leadership capacity by sustaining the annual celebration of the Igbo new yam festival in Sempe region -Ghana for solid 10 uninterrupted years on the throne, while leading the Igbo community on the path of truth, justice, fairness, honesty and integrity. HRH Eze Dr. Samuel Ekezie, Ezeigbo Sempe Ghana, is an accomplished business man, a build bridger, team player and respected community leader.



The watershed event marking the 10th year annual new yam festival and coronation ceremony of His Royal Highness, Eze Dr. Samuel Ekezie, JP (Ugochimereze l /Ezeigbo Sempe Ghana), was attended by captains of industry, ambassdors, politicians , government appointees, first class traditional rulers from Nigeria, Ghana and neighbouring West African countries of Togo, Guinea, Benin, Mali, graced the occasion.


In his opening remarks, the Chief Celebrant and Ezeigbo Sempe Ghana, HRH Eze Dr. Samuel Ekezie , JP, said: `` The new yam festival affords ndigbo a golden opportunity to come together and celebrate Igbo cultural heritage , industry and entreprenurship. In his words: `` Yam is king of all crops, from time immemorial our fathers celebrated it as it afforded them the opportunity to take good stocks of their harvest and to also thank God for His blessings.``

`` Today, we are celebrating it in the Diaspora to pass a very important legacy to our children. Most of our children were born outside Igboland, and it becomes imperative for us to organise an event like this so that we could come together and celebrate our festival where Igbo culture is upheld and celebrated at its best. ``


Royal Father Of The Day, HRM Eze Dr. Amb. Chukwudi Jude Ihenetu (Ezeigbo Ghana, Global Peace Ambassador), in commending Eze Samuel Ekezie , maintained that the Igbo community in Sempe -Ghana is very proud of him for promoting the tradition and cultural heritage of ndiIgbo through the anual new yam festival in his region. According to Eze Ohazurume, HRM Dr. Ihenetu, Eze Samuel Ekezie is an illustrious son of Igboland Mbaise precisely who is so passionate about Igbo culture and tradition, as he has been actively involved in Igbo traditional leadership in Ghana as a founding member of the revered Obiukwu, ObiIgbo, Obieziokwu royal palace under his watch.


Speaking after Ezeigbo Ghana, Ihenetu , another father of the day at the watershed event, HRM NII Adotey ll , President of Paramount Chief of the Sempe Traditional Council and the Mankralo of the Ga State, urges everyone in attendance irrespective of tribe or country, so long they are Africans to attend the festival because apparently, we are not just promoting Igbo culture, but we are also promoting African culture. With the presence of kings and queens from all parts of Africa, it is now a full-blown African festival. As they came , they also showcased their own rich culture. Yoruba, Hausa, people from South South and other neighbouring African countries were there to partake in the festival.



The highly inspired theme of the event , titled: '' Promoting Unity, Love And Development Through Culture'' is a demonstration of Eze Dr. Samuel Ekezie s pan- African cultural diversity and intellectualism geared towards using cultural festivity in bringing people together for peace, unity and development through social communication and engagements.



Again and over again, the Obi Ihunaya Palace (Palace of Love) Accra- Ghana, under the dynamic traditional leadership of it's king, HRH Eze Dr. Samuel Ekezie , JP (Ugochimereze l /Ezeigbo Sempe Ghana), alongside his amiable wife Her Royal Highness,Ugoeze Glory Wali Ekezie (Ugodiya ), has continued to be an abode where brotherly love reigns supremely among the Igbo people living in Sempe -Ghana and also a rallying point for business contacts and other social engagements in the spirit of 'Onye Ahala Nwanneya - Be Your Brother's Keeper . IKECHUKWU UKAEGBU EMERGES IMO LABOUR PARTY GOVERNORSHIP CANDIDATE FOR THE NOVEMBER 11, 2023, POLL

Chief Joseph Ikechukwu Ukaegbu (Ikenga) has emerged the consensus candidate of Labour for the November 11 governorship election in Imo State on Sunday, April 16, 2023.

Chief Ukaegbu, who was the party's governorship candidate in the 2019 election swept majority votes of the accredited delegates at the Arts Nouveau , Owerri, being venue of the primary election which was conducted by the Alhaji Mohammed Alkali Ibrahim- led acting National Working Committee of Labour Party.

The boardroom political strategist, businessman and philnatropist, Ikechukwu Ukaegbu, from Owerri Senatorial zone, defeated his major Barr. Ihechi Ike, from Okigwe zone to emerge Labour Party's candidate ahead of the November 11, 2023, governorship election in Imo State.

Declaring him winner of the primary election conducted by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, in a most peaceful, transparent, and well organised exercise, Acting National Chairman of Labour Party, Alhaji Mohammed Alkali- Ibrahim maintained that having certified the requirements of the party and gone through the screening exercise, Mr. Joseph Ikechukwu Ukaegbu is hereby declared winner of the election is his major rival, Ihechi Ike, after due consultations stepped down for him.

Information contained in a press release by the governorship aspirant, Ihechi Ike, and made available to the press as obtained by 4th Estate Reporters, had it that the Umueze born Ihieme Mbano lawyer turned politician had earlier sent his letter of steeping down notification to the National Working Committee of Labour Party, while soliciting their support for consideration as a possible governorship running mate to Chief Joseph Ikechukwu Ukaegbu (Ikenga Ikeduru).

The jubilation that erupted the announcement of Ikenga Ikeduru's emergence as a consensus candidate is a demonstration of his dedication and avowed commitment to serve Ndi Imo having carried the burden of Labour Party for over 10 years even before the wave of the Obi-dient Movement in Nigeria.

Chief Ukaegbu will have the sitting governor, Sen. Hope Uzodimma of the ruling All Progressives Congress and Sen. Samuel Anyanwu (Samdady) of the People's Democratic Party to contend with in the November 11 , 2023 , governorship election in Imo State.

Labour Party factions produce two Imo gov flag bearers

The crisis rocking the Labour Party in Imo State took another turn when two factions of the party produced different governorship flag bearers, Senator Athan Achonu and Ikechukwu Ukaegbu, in the parallel primary elections held over the weekend.

Ukaegbu emerged winner in an affirmative election where one of the aspirants, Ihechi Ike, stepped down for him.

The National Vice chairman of the party, North East, Mohammed Ibrahim Alkali, who represented the acting National Chairman of the party, Lamido Apapa, who announced him winner and handed the flag of the party to him noted that the election conducted had followed due process.

Also, the National Youth Leader of the party, Anselem Iragbe, addressing newsmen shortly affirmed that the election conducted on Sunday met all legal requirements.

According to him, the Julius Abure-led faction that conducted the Saturday primary election was not legally bound to do so.

He said, “The election conducted today, April 16, is the authentic governorship primary of the party. An FCT High Court issued a restraining order on April,4 on Julius Abure, the National Chairman, his treasurer and the organising secretary and asking them to stop parading themselves as the officials of Labour Party.

”This means from the 5th they are no longer officials of the party. So, whatever took place yesterday as election does not stand according to the face of the law.”

Meanwhile, the Aburi led faction of the party had earlier on Saturday conducted its own primary election where senator Athan Achonu emerged with 134 votes defeating his closest rival, Lincoln Ugunewe who polled 125 votes.

Other result from that election as announced by the returning officer, Dr.Alex Otti,Abia State governor – elect are : Martins Agbaso, 13 votes, Mrs Ndidi 1vote, David Mbamara ,5 votes, Charles Agomuo,1 vote, Kelechi

However, Ike given reasons for stepping down for Ukaegbu said “I will not say much, I entered Imo and saw that the State needed labour party and labour party is the party that Imo also need, we have seen the charade that has been going on in southeast, it’s very troublesome and we have come to cleanse it, this is what we need and on this I step down for Ukaegbu”.

In his acceptance speech, Ukaegbu vowed that he would never to surrender his ticket to anybody. He said “I thank you all for making this happen today, I want to assure you that I will make you proud, I will never surrender my ticket to anybody, I have prepared for this for twelve years and one thing I would like to tell you again is that I’m not an opportunist, together we would build Imo of our dream”.

Ahead of the stand- alone, Saturday, November 11, 2023, Imo governorship election, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has begun its deep search to pair up Sen. Samuel Anyanwu with a more dynamic, youth - friendly and capable co - pilot for his party's political accelerated flight to the Douglas House in the November 2023 polls. While there is ongoing lobbying, concerted politicking, background negotiation and vested interest among the party leaders and power brokers in the state of whom to select to pair with the party's governorship candidate, Sam Daddy, after the primaries slated for Saturday, April 15. A number of qualifications naturally spring to mind for consideration among any of the lucky candidates that will be eventually selected. Of course, one person must be chosen at the end of the day.

Samuel Anyanwu needs to leverage on the international exposure, management skills and economic expertise of Chief Uche Ben Odunzeh, a United States of America trained and certified Economist, as a more credible, acceptable and competent running mate. Unfortunately, those in government have lost the bearing and idea on how to practically manage the Imo macro- economics with the realites on ground.

The tragedy of that misconception could be seen in the scorecards of some state and local governments’ helmsmen who celebrate the building of perimeter walls around government structures, distribution of foodstuff during festivities, and donation of vehicles to traditional rulers as landmark achievements. Yet good governance is that which is focused on the people, their safety and welfare, the optimal allocation of scarce resources and the effective implementation of policies for service delivery. This is why the People's Democratic Party in Imo State should seriously consider and choose a firebrand economist like Uche Ben Udenzeh as a running mate to Sen. Samuel Anyanwu.

Despite having made a highly impressive attempt to secure the party's ticket during the 2023 primaries for Orlu/Orsu/Oru East Federal Constituency under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Chief Uche Ben Odunzeh still burns with his original zeal to lift members of his Federal Constituency nay Imo people out of the doldrums as he continues to support the party, fund her activities in his Orlu LGA and reach out to her candidates at state level. His integrity, youthfulness, resourcefulness, formidable political structure across the 12 LGAs in Orlu zone, grassroots appeal and political sagacity may just be what Sen. Samuel Anyanwu needs at this time rather than considering those who have alot of baggages, scores to settle with both the state actors and political gladiators.

Just like the Abia State Deputy Governor - elect Engr. Ikechukwu Emetu, a 38-year-old youth from Ohafia, and Labour Party's candidate for Lagos State in the March 18 Governorship Election, Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivor , a 40 year old man from Lagos Island, the choice of Chief Uche Ben Odunzeh strongly appeals to majority of Imo youths and other conservative who truly love the Eziachi successful entrepreneur and philanthropist as they earnestly crave for a change of narrative in the political leadership of Imo State as he is seen as a breath of fresh air in the politics of Imo.

A VIRTUOUS WOMAN GOES HOME, AS CHILDREN AND THE NWANERI DYNASTY BURY MATRIARCH IN GRAND STYLE AMID TEARS

It's almost a month since the remains of late golden matriarch, Ezinne Margret Charity Nwaneri (Nee Okoroagu), was laid to rest at her late husband's compound in Mbubu -Amiri, Oru East local government area of Imo State, Nigeria. While the burial has come and gone, but will linger almost forever in the memories of the bereaved family as well as sympathizers who attended the watershed event.



The four - days burial arrangement started on Wednesday, January 4th, 2023; with preparation for the arrival of family members and sympathizers. A Night of Tribute |Service of songs held at the Tom James Chukwunyerenwa crescent - residence of Chief Tony Nwaneri, as body departed Federal Medical Centre for requiem mass at the Maria Assumpta Cathedral, Owerri, on Friday, January 6th, 2023. The high mass service was presided over by the Catholic Bishop of Owerri Archdiocese, His Grace, Bishop Lucius Iwejuru Ugorji and co - celebrated by other priests drawn from different Dioceses. After the burial mass, the deceased body departed in motorcade to her late husband - Pa Chief Hon. Nathaniel Nwokenaibeya Nwaneri (late Ese Ome-Udo l of Amiri Kingdom)'s residence in Mbubu, Oru - East LGA, Imo State, with a brief stop over at her parents house, late Chief & Lolo Felix Okoroagu.

During the burial homily, the Catholic Bishop of Owerri Archdiocese, Lucius Iwejuru Ugorji described late Ezinne Margaret Nwaneri as a devout christian, role model, and prayer warrior , who lived all her life serving God in truth , in words, and in action; while raising God fearing children that have become source of pride and inspiration to the family and society. The cleric added that; during her early days to old age, Ezinne Margaret Nwaneri didn't depart from the religious tents she held so tenaciously to until death.


A burial ceremony that had well over 4000 mourners in attendance under different canopies outside, over 20 officiating catholic priests, sympathizers, different socio- cultural groups and traditional rulers from the Oru - nation, a keen observer could best describe it as burial turned carnival since Ezinne Margaret Nwaneri died at the ripped old age of 91 years.
Indeed, it was a peaceful passage of a saint of God as Ezinne Margaret Nwaneri (Nee Akaraugo) took a final bow and relocated to heaven on Angel's wings. A virtutous woman by all standards: a loving and caring mother from whose heart flew the milk of human kindness.


However, after the internment; family members, religious leaders, traditional rulers, captains of industry, top government functionaries, Imo political gladiators and state actors, security chiefs, A- list diginatries, members of the diplomatic corps, friends and numerous well wishers; all converged at the Amiri close palatial Amb. Tochil White House (- luxurious mansion), Owerri, for the grand reception, having given the deceased mother, Ezinne Margaret Charity Nwaneri, a befitting state burial.


Interestingly, practically all the leading candidates of the respective political parties in the 2023 general elections were in attendance; Labour Party candidate for Imo West Senatorial District, Chief Charles Ugochukwu Ahize; candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party for Imo North Senatorial District, Chief Emmanuel Okewulonu, All Progressives Congress candidate for Imo East Senatorial District, Prince Alex Mbata , among others, were conspicuously captured.

However, the high point of the event and icing on the cake of attendance list was the arrival of the Executive governor of Imo State, His Excellency , Distinguished Sen. Hope Uzodimma, alongside the retinue of his colorful entourage, as his Chief host; a Nigerian diplomat, oil magnet, financial investment expert and doyen of hospitality business, Amb. Tochil Nwaneri, warmly received his August visitor, Uzodimma, who came for the reception.

The Imo State governor, Sen. Hope Uzodimma, who described the late Ezinne Margaret Charity Nwaneri as a true definition of motherhood and Proverbs 31 woman, surprisingly spent approximately 7 hours at the well manicured White House of Amb. Tochil Nwaneri; as he was so relaxed to be served the most expensive choice champagne by his host, the Nwaneri's.


Appearing sober and emotional during an interview session with 4thestatereporters.ng, Chief Charles Ahize described late Ezinne Margaret Nwaneri as an epitome of a virtutous woman; a lovely mother who passionately cared for her children and all those who came in contact with her for motherly advice and biblical insights.

According to Chief Tony Nwaneri in a glowing tribute to his late mum; `` Ezinne Margaret Nwaneri, mama was a disciplinarian, who believed in hardwork and was quite industrious. Knowledge was her forte as a result of her voracious thirst for information and happenings around the world.``

According to the deceased star boy and foreign diplomat; Amb. Tochil Nwaneri: `` Our late mum possesed exceptional analytical abilities which included problem solving, character molding as a teacher, knowledge imparation, communication and critical thinking, among other. ``
Mama took delight in ensuring the joy of others as well as the development of the general community and most particularly; the church of God. As a devout christian, she loved evangelism and most times woke up at 4 to 5am preparing the children and neighbors for church. A dedicated catholic who put her trust and hope; morning, afternoon and night on God, and implored her children to always pray the rosary.



From her children; Sir Iky E. Nwaneri, Chief Tony Nwaneri, Prof. Uchenna R. Nwaneri, Amb. Tochil Nwaneri and Mrs. Scholar Igwe; including their wives, children, grand children and numerous relations, all paid glowing tributes on their beloved mother, affirming that she was a symbol of womanhood all cared for anyone who came in contact with her without discrimination.


The expensive classy cars, the hype- tech trained security agents that mounted on duty post , the well trimmed flowers, the poolside, the waterfall and beautiful lighting in the well manicured compound, sent a strong message that the deceased Ezinne Margaret Charity Nwaneri didn't not only lived a fulfilled life, but begot children that have sustained the legacies and life wishes of their parents.


While sending condolences to his long time friend, Amb. Tochil Nwaneri, Ezeigbo Ghana, His Royal Majesty, Eze Dr. Amb. Chukwudi Jude Ihenetu, registered his condolences to the Nwaneri dynasty over the demise of their matriarch, Ezinne Margaret Charity Nwaneri, praying God to give her soul a peaceful repose. Ezeigbo Ghana, Ihenetu, however, prayed God to keep strengthening his friend Amb. Tochil Nwaneri and his family over the death of their irreplaceable mother.


The state burial witnessed in attendance top notch businessmen, political leaders, respected Imo elders, government functionaries and members of the private sector, which included but not limited to:

The late Ezinne Margaret Charity Nwaneri loved God, her children , humanity and served the husband faithfully. She remained committed to the teachings of the church and her faith through daily devotions, prayers, selfless community service and various unannounced charity works during her life time.

Ezinne Margaret Charity Nwaneri is so dearly loved and would be so greatly missed!

Amarachi Chyna Iwuanyanwu, Ksc, Msc, was conferred with a 'high chieftaincy title' of ' Amarachukwu Nwangele ' by the creme da la creme of Nwangele traditional leadership under the chairmanship of His Royal Highness, Eze (Hon.) Uzomah Onunenyi (Ekiti ll of Ekitiafor Abba) , in recognition of his immeasurable contributions towards community development, stellar performance as a state legislator and strategic role in the promotion of traditional institution in Nwangele LGA and Imo State. His amiable wife, Lady Shirley Iwuanyanwu, was also honoured with the title of ' Lolo Opuruiche ' by the Ugoezes of Nwangele traditional rulers in order to complement her husband's efforts both in political leadership and selfless community development service.

Again, Court Sacks 16 APC Rivers Assembly Candidates

Two weeks after a Federal High Court in Port Harcourt, declared nomination of candidates of the All Progressives Congress (APC) invalid for the 2023 general election, another Federal High Court sitting in Port Harcourt Friday, has disqualified 16 state constituency candidates of the party in the State and also upheld 16 state house of reps candidates.

Justice E.A. Obile had nullified the Primaries of the APC, in the state following a suit filed by one George Orlu and four others over alleged exclusion in the party’s primaries

However, Justice Turaki Muhammed of the Federal High Court, in his ruling Friday, sacked the 16 candidates of the party for the state assembly seats out of 32.

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) had filed the case against the APC registered in suit (FHC/PH/CS/152/2022).

The PDP claimed in the suit that the primaries of the affected candidates were not monitored by the officers of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

The affected state constituencies and their candidates disqualified are Andoni, Etche 1 and 2, Tai, Gokana, Eleme, Port Harcourt City 1, 2 and 3, Khana 1 and 2 Okrika, Ahoada West and Obio-Akpor 1 and 2 state constituencies.

The candidates cleared by the court to participate in the 2023 general elections are Emohua, Ahoada East 1 and 2, Ikwerre, Omuma, Ogu Bolo, Bonny, Asari Toru, Akuku Toru 1 and 2, Ogba Egbema Ndoni 1 and 2, Opobo-Nkoru, Abua-Odua, Oyigbo and Degema constituencies.

The presiding judge, Justice Mohammed in his judgment first dismissed preliminary objection by APC, on the issue of jurisdiction and locus Standi as well as issues of status barred.

Justice Mohammed, who assumed jurisdiction held that the PDP was able to prove to the court that primary elections that produced the APC 16 candidates were not monitored by INEC.

Reacting on the ruling, , the party said it will not break following the recent two court judgements that have sacked its candidates for the 2023 general elections.

The Spokesman, APC 2023 Elections Campaign Council, Sogbeye Eli, stated that the party was stretched by the anti-democratic forces, adding that the party would not break.

He said: “The 2023 Elections Campaign Council of the All Progressives Congress (APC) received with surprise the news of another judgment of the Federal High Court in Port Harcourt this afternoon ordering the disqualification of our candidates for the Rivers State House of Assembly in 16 State Constituencies for the March 11, 2022 general election.

Naira Rebounds As New Currency Note Introduction Draws Closer


The Association of Bureaux Des Change Operators of Nigeria (ABCON) says Naira has continued to firm against the Dollar at the parallel market as date for CBN new currency introduction draws closer.

Alhaji Aminu Gwadabe, President, (ABCON), said this in an interview with Newsmen on Wednesday in Lagos.

“There is an observed growing return to sanity in the parallel market as the deadline for the cancellation of the old notes and introduction of the new notes in circulation come closer.

“The market is witnessing a dull moment as the spiral volatility in the exchange rate of the local currency nosedived south west.

“Majority of the dealers are very cautious in quoting their bid and offer rates to their clients, who desperately want to upload their position in the market,” Gwadabe told NAN.

The ABCON chief said the development became paramount as demands for foreign currency were being diverted to commodity market.

He noted that a tonne of hibiscus (zobo) which was selling for N500, 000 jumped to N1m per tonne.

“A bag of millet which was selling for N18,000 per bag now sells for N24,000 per bag,” he said.

Gwadabe said that there were governance decisions made outside the shores of Nigeria that were impacting the naira positively.

He said that reports that the U.S. would cease using currency notes printed before year 2021 also helped the naira to rebound.


The ABCON boss said that the recent recall for foreign assets of the Vatican back home and the Saudi Arabia diversification drive from oil to renewable energy was pointing to a New World Order.

According to him, the new world order may likely lead to a global financial distortion that will challenge the hegemony of the American dollar.

“In the light of the above, we, therefore urge the CBN to seize the positive trajectory to revisit the suspension of the Bureau De Changes (BDCs) from accessing the designated official FX windows in the ecosystem.

“ABCON also advises the CBN to continue with their crack down on foreign exchange abuses in the market.

“It is also noteworthy for the CBN to liberalise Diaspora remittance pick up agency and come up with new non export proceeds utilisation to inject liquidity in the market,” Gwadabe said.

The financial expert urged the monetary and fiscal policy authorities to work harmoniously to eliminate the fixed versus flexible exchange rate framework to establish a market clearing price.

He said that such harmony was needed to usher in foreign investments inflows and also discourage rent seeking, currency substitutions, speculation and hording in the market.

He expressed the commitment of BDCs to friendly reforms and preparedness to serve the transmission mechanism roles in foreign exchange rate stabilisation in the economy.

“Finally, we want to thank our members for their understanding and collaborations with the regulatory and security agencies in ensuring the stability of our local currency despite the hash operational environment,” Gwadabe said.

IHEKWEME LED OBI- DATTI IMO PRESIDENTIAL CAMPAIGN COUNCIL CALLS FOR PEACE AND UNITY

It is important at this stage, to put the records straight to avoid wide spread misconceptions and wrong notions.

On behalf of the Imo state Presidential Campaign Council for Peter Obi/Ahmed Datti, it is my singular honour to make the following clarifications with the view of strengthening our Campaign and also to purge and disabuse the minds of our reading public on the false insinuations by a few detractors and disobedient elements who are of course direct beneficiaries of the current failed leadership and now trying to hide under the striking names of Peter Obi and Ahmed Datti to advance their own selfish political interests and advantages. I have refused to be dragged into this unnecessary and unwarranted supremacy battle with Imo LP leadership who claims to be acting based on a directive from the National Secretariat of the Party to disown the constitution and inauguration of the Imo State Presidential Campaign Council.

First thing first, since the inauguration of the Obi-Datti Presidential Campaign Council Imo State chapter, we have evidently raised the bar and taken the Campaign in Imo state to a new and enviable heights. We do not need any distractions at this point in time.

There is no debate to the fact, that there is no conflict of interest between Party Administration and Campaign Council in any flourishing democracy anywhere in the world. It is the prerogative of a nominated candidate of a political party to set up his or her own Campaign team. The party plays little or no role in some cases when it comes to the determination of the key actors in any Campaign Council at any level.

Imo state was recently used as a test case on how a befitting Campaign Council should be constituted, and it has been widely acknowledged that Imo state example should be replicated across the country. Should that constitute a threat to anyone that is truly Obidient and Yus-ful?

As the State Coordinator for Obi-Datti Presidential Campaign Council Imo, I hereby plead with the leadership of Labour Party and critical stakeholders at all levels to please desist from demarketing Peter Obi in Imo state.

I do not want to believe that opposition elements have infiltrated and penetrated certain persons within the rank and file of LP both at the state and National levels.

The Imo state Presidential Campaign Council for Obi-Datti was properly and duly constituted and inaugurated by a competent National leader of great repute and senior member of the Campaign Organisation Prof. Pat Utomi. It amounts to administrative incompetence and naivity for anybody in the name of Party supremacy to disown his actions publicly because he didn't act on behalf of the party. He acted for the Presidential Candidate who enjoys his full and unalloyed confidence and trust. Even if the National Leadership of the party frowns at the singling out of Imo state alone, but as a responsible political party, are they suppose to involve the media immediately? What was the haste in rushing to the media to disown an action taken by one of the greatest pillars of the Party and Campaign? I think the leadership of LP should tarry a while and detach themselves away from dubious political actors that are using them to cause trouble at this early stage. Where was Labour Party in Imo state and else where before Peter Obi became the candidate? In less than two weeks, the Imo State Campaign Council has moved the sensitisation campaign upto the Ward level and in all the polling units in Imo state. The party should be grateful to us and not to be antagonising us.

Let me repeat again, that I do not see any conflict between the party and the Campaign Council in terms of interest unless there are things the party is hiding from us. The sole interest of the Campaign Council is to see this formidable ticket of Obi-Datti emerge victorious on the 25th Febuary 2023.

At this point, commonsense demands that we apply wisdom and bury our invidual interests for collective interest and then deploy all our efforts to help Peter Obi and Ahmed Datti succeed in rescuing and salvaging this country that is badly in need of credible and competent leadership.

We should at this point, concentrate on the heavy workload staring at us in the face. Nobody has monopoly of dishing out press releases. But let it be known today, that the Campaign Council Imo State will nolonger tolerate anymore of such unwarranted media outbursts against my person or the Campaign Council as a whole. Henceforth, anymore of such malicious publication against the Council, will be met with a more damaging response. The Presidential candidate of Labour Party has the sole responsibility to dissolve or reconstitute his Campaign Council at any level and at will. There is a difference between political party as a vehicle for election and a Campaign Council of a candidate that has emerged for election from the Party. It is left for a Presidential candidate to choose his Campaign team who forms the campaign Council. The Candidate may decide to have his Campaign Council merged with the structure of the party or allow the Campaign Council operate separately outside the structure of the party but must inform the structure of the party of his programmes and activities to enable the structure of the party participate and play its role as a political party.

Who becomes who in the Campaign Council of a candidate, whether at the federal, state or LGA levels is the sole responsibility and prerogative of the candidate contesting election.

As it is today, the Imo State Presidential Campaign Council for Obi-Datti, enjoys the full support and confidence of the Presidential Candidate and his running mate. We are strong on ground and poised to deliver over 95% to Peter Obi and Ahmed Datti on the 25th of Febuary 2023.

Let me also appeal to my brothers who are involved in the current distractions against the Campaign Council to think twice and sheathe their swords because karma is a bitch.

The Imo State Campaign Council honoured the party by paying a reconciliatory visit to the state secretariat, yet some known and unknown elements within and outside the party have continued to forment trouble for their own selfish interest.

Finally, let us advance beyond the current petty politics and brace up for the work ahead.

The Imo State Campaign Council has been inaugurated, we can only come together and fortify the council for maximum effect and result.

We have been self financing, we have never solicited for any financial help from anyone because we are capable of funding our operations and activities and we have been doing so by the grace of God.

AMARA IWUANYANWU: A QUINTESSENTIAL YOUNG STATE LEGISLATOR WITH PROVEN SCORECARD OF PERFORMANCE.

While there has been a move or propensity by some cynics and critics to conflate ' legislative capacity ' and ' legislative performance ' as they make hasty analysis of the performance of Rt Hon Amarachi Chyna Iwuanyanwu KSc and most times, erroneous conclusions about his strengths and weaknesses in representing a most strategic and much - talk about constituency like Nwangele. Ironically, a number of these self imposed 'Chief Judges of Nwangele LGA' and the blind critics, in practical terms, haven't really sat down to critically and dispassionately take a closer look at the scorecard of Hon Amara Chyna Iwuanyanwu Ksc, Msc, within his three years in office under review.

Regrettably, independent findings have shown that those averse to his style of leadership cannot accuse him of ineffective representation, lack of capacity to lead the mass of the members of his Nwangele Constituency or even non- performance, but had wanted him to adopt a populist and deceptive approach in representation by always being seen around the people in the village, possibly cracking jokes and eating with them like Owelle Rochas Anayo Okorocha

Funny enough, this is what the 'little minds ' and baby analysts in their contemporary political comparison described as humility in leadership. Well, you may not know the true colors of a man until you give him power. On a personal note, I have met the man 'Amara Iwuanyanwu' when he had no political power and I have also seen his true colors now that he has power! While his style of leadership is relatively different from his predecessors as some people complain he doesn't usually take up their emergency calls for help , but the truth remains that Amara Iwuanyanwu is very accessible with good sense of hospitality; he is honest, consistent, a generous giver and also can be trusted. Sane minds and the conservatives place more premium on a leader's disposition and performance index than not picking up calls which I think should be assigned to one of his Personal Assistants when he is in a meeting as he is usually in meetings given his position as a known public figure and top government functionary. Don't forget, he also has his personal life, business outside politics and family to take care of.

Nevertheless, the few misplaced politicians among these critics although very well informed, are the ones accusing Amara Iwuanyanwu of non- performance for not sharing his allowances with them. Others pitch their political tent with the opposition because of his strong alliance and seamless working relationship with the Imo State governor, Sen. Hope Uzodimma, at a most challenging season of our dear state; Imo, as this. This is simply a transferred aggression and grouse against the governor, not necessarily a personal rift with Rt. Hon. Amara Iwuanyanwu as he has remained one of the highly cerebral, focused, determined, decisive and proactive young legislators not just in Imo State, but also in the South East where he had once served as the Financial Secretary of the various APC Governorship Election's Committees.

Apart from his stellar performance as a legislator , Rt. Hon. Amara Iwuanyanwu, no doubt, has given an impressive account of himself as a trusted, dedicated and good Ambassador of the Shared Prosperity Administration under Sen. Hope Uzodimma; making his Nwangele Constituency to have a feel of the presence of the Imo State Government. Arguably, not too many legislators in the State can honestly boost of this.

Matching his words with action, especially, with a highly impressive scorecard, colourful political trajectory and eventful legislative performance, Rt. Hon. Amara Iwuanyanwu has demonstrated the capacity to shoulder the responsibility of representing a very strategic Local Government Area in Imo State; Nwangele, carefully judging by the various positions entrusted to him as a first timer and people-oriented projects practically executed:

Chairman, House Committee on Housing.

• Chairman, House Committee on Youth, Sports and Entrepreneurial Skills.

• Chairman, House Committee on Business and Rules.

• Electoral Committee Chairman, APC State Congress in 2021.

• Deputy Speaker, Imo State House of Assembly.

• National Delegate, APC National Convention.

This is apart from the numerous positions, State assignments and party’s activities he had successfully executed.

Popularly known as Mr. Capacity, Rt. Hon. Amara Chyna Iwuanyanwu has continued to talk less and do more with the following verifiable projected executed, below :

• Single-handedly built and commissioned two ultra modern markets in Nwangele LGA; located at Nworie -Okpu Prosperity market Agbajah and Nkwoebu Abba Prosperity market, respectively. He didn’t stop at that, he also gave out millions of Naira as ‘starters pack empowerment’ to over 300 women to begin trading in the market.

• Donations of transformers to communities in Nwangele LGA.

• Cleared outstanding EEDC bills across Nwangele communities.

• Had his footprints and inputs in the appointments of Nwangele sons and daughters in the Shared Prosperity Administration under Gov. Hope Uzodimma.

• Construction of 2.4km Amuzi-Umuokparadim Road with a formidable drainage system.

• Constructed solar water boleholes in all the 11 wards in Nwangele LGA.

• Built a state of the art personage |house for New Covenant Anglican Church, Amuzi Dim-na-Nume.

• Built modern 4 bedroom bungalow houses for widows.

• Donated classical cars and motorcycles to members of his constituency.

• Distributed food relief materials with cash donations running into millions of Naira to Nwangele families; in order to caushion the ravaging effect of COVID-19.

• Single handedly sponsored N5M Capacity Youth Fotball Tournament as a way of discovering raw talents and grooming them into professional footballers.

The above are verifiable claims and established facts beyond mere rhetoric and bogus unrealistic promises as we see the political jostlers move from ward to ward, house to house, to brainwash unsuspecting innocent people at home just to solicit their support as the election draws even closer. But the well informed and army of grassroots supporters of Mr. Capacity cannot be swayed or brainwashed because; ‘A bird at hand is worth more than the hundreds in the bush”.

• Paid for the registration of JAMB forms, WAEC fees and eventually secured provisional admissions for Nwangele students into differnt institutions of higher learning in Imo State.

• Facilitated bills and motions that have acted as strong catalysts in propelling the advancement of the 3R Administration under His Excellency, Distinguished Sen. Hope Uzodimma. In the political coinage of the Obi-dient members of Nwangele State Constituency, I can authoritatively ask the reading public to ' GO AND VERIFY.'

From the foregoing, therefore, replacing Amara Chyna Iwuanyanwu who has demonstrated capacity in leadership and impressive record of legislative performance with a political neophyte who is coming to test the waters in legislative business is ill-advised and a near impossible task as Nwangele critical leaders, stakeholders and the army of youths have closed ranks to re - elect their wizkid state legislator inorder to continue with his good works while we take pride that the exalted office of the Imo State Deputy Speakership is retained by our son, Amarachi Nwangele.

PETER OBI VISITS IKPEAZU

Former Anambra State Governor and Presidential Candidate of the Labor Party, Mr Peter Obi was at the Country Home of Governor Okezie Ikpeazu at Umuobiakwa, Obingwa LGA early this morning for a courtesy visit.

Mr Obi arrived Umuobiakwa quite early this morning and was received by his host, Governor Okezie Ikpeazu.

Former Governor Obi informed Governor Ikpeazu that he was in Abia State to attend an event at the Mater Dei Catholic Cathedral Umuahia and in line with official courtesies and protocols, he had to come to see the Governor before proceeding to the event.

They discussed a wide range of issues ranging from Security, Economy and Politics.

They also had a private breakfast session.

Governor Ikpeazu presented him with a Souvenir bag containing the first ever Abia State Long Term Development Plan and the Abia State Industrial Policy which was presented to the Governor yesterday by ECOWAS Representative at the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO).

Mr. Obi also spoke to newsmen for a few minutes before leaving for Umuahia.

The politics of land grabbing whereby top government functionaries; elected and appointed officials of government use either intimidation or state power , at times a combination of both, to illegally and forcefully acquire people's lands or cornered government's properties without recourse to existing or extant laws, is one of the menaces for urban development in most cities.

This mundane crave and culture of land grabbing, arguably, became more pronounced during the Owelle Rochas Anayo Okorocha 's Imo Rescue Mission Administration wherein known political loyalists of the then governor; his family members, friends and even cronies had their own share of the land distribution patrimony with a little token as land documentation fees, and at choice places too, within the Owerri municipality.

A number of loyal serving commissioners and members of the 7th and 8th Imo State House of Assembly under Owelle Rochas Okorocha were also not left out as lucky beneficiaries of the largesse of illegal land allocation selectively distributed by then Commissioner for Lands and later Chief of Staff, Ugwumba Uche Nwosu, son in-law of the Ogboko born political maverick now the Senator representing Imo West Senatorial District in the Red Chamber, event against the outcry of most families who lost their ancestral lands to the Imo state government under Okorocha's Administration.

However, it was allegedly reported and widely too , among other things, that the then Imo Deputy Speaker, Rt. Hon. Ugonna Ozurigbo, an avowed apostle of the Rescue Mission Administration and unrepentant product of the Okorocha 's political family, was one of the biggest beneficiaries of the free -land distribution by the former governor who gave it as parting gifts to his trusted adopted political sons and daughters for remaining true to the core mandate of his Administration.

While power is transient and with a new Sheriff in town, His Excellency, Distinguished Sen. Hope Uzodimma , who came with three major Policy Thrusts or 3R Mantra of Rehabilitation, Reconstruction And Recovery; it became obvious that a number of reviews must be carried out in the Urban Renewal Policy of the Shared Prosperity Administration with a systematic judicial process of recovering either illegally acquired properties or stolen assets of the state government inorder to sanitize the system and set a new agenda for departure from previous administrations in the state.

Against the background of the foregoing, Governor Hope Uzodimma after one year in office, inaugurated a Whitepaper Implementation Committee on Lands and Other Related Matters under the chairmanship of Prof. Ukachukwu Awuzie , charging members to recover all assets gazetted in the Whitepaper as recommended.

Performing the ceremony at the Government House, EXCO Chambers, Owerri, the governor directed the Committee not only to recover as recommended by the Whitepaper all illegally acquired Imo assets but also recommend to the government how best to put into use the recovered assets. The Publisher of 4th Estate Reporters, Njoku Macdonald Obinna, authoritatively gathered that the Imo governor, Hope Uzodimma, further explained that the implementation of the Whitepaper was of profound importance to the people of Imo State, as it was seen as the final contract with the good people of Imo upon which his Administration would be judged.

Governor Hope Uzodimma also described the action as an integral part of his Shared Prosperity Administration in Imo State, maintaining that with the implementation, the 3R Mantra would be further amplified.

Considering the importance attached to the Committee's herculen assignment, the governor urged them to ensure that every aspect of the Whitepaper is implemented , noting that Imo people expected nothing less. " The recovery of all stolen Imo wealth is nothing but what ndi Imo need ", governor Hope Uzodimma insisted.

It was on the strength of above, that the duo of then Chairman of Imo Environmental Transformation Commission (ENTRACO), Hon. Macdonald Ebere PhD and Engr. Innocent Ikpeazu led Management of the Owerri Capital Development Authority (OCDA), embarked on demolition of illegal structures and recovery of state government -owned properties mischeviously, forcefully and falsely acquired by individuals or powerful friends of the past administrations.

Unfortunately and regrettably too, the multi-million Naira newly - built Sweet Peace Suites belonging to a former Deputy Speaker of the Imo State House of Assembly under Owelle Rochas Anayo Okorocha and serving member representating Nkwerre/Isu/Nwangele/Njaba Federal Constituency, Hon. Ugonna Ozurigbo, which is located at BF 26 Area E, behind Concord Hotel, New Owerri, was yesterday, Tuesday, July 19, 2022, marked for recovery by the Imo State Government as the said land upon which Chief Ozurigbo Ugonna a die-hard loyalist and beneficiary of the Owelle Rochas Okorocha's Imo Rescue Mission Administration built his hotel.

Recall that on Monday, March 8 , 2021, a combination of OCDA and ENTRACO Team acting on the directives of the Imo State Government marked the same hotel for removal having given the owner - Chief Ugonna Ozurigbo, 7 days notice of eviction. A rather smart OZB started playing his usual politics of humility and loyalty to the new governor, erroneously thinking the exercise was a political witch - hunting since the new governor, Hope Uzodimma and his Boss, Imo former governor, Sen. Rochas Okorocha, have been on " War of attrition and power supremacy " over who holds firmly the party structure of the ruling All Progressives Congress - APC in the State.

To appease Sen. Hope Uzodimma, OZB in his Maradonic disposition quickly enrolled in the APC membership revalidation exercise as the Interim Management Committee Chairman of Nwangele LGA, Chief Cosmos Iwuagwu, alongside other committee members went to the Umuozu country home of the federal lawmaker to revalidate his membership at the ward level. Chief Ozurigbo also reached out to some friends in the Shared Prosperity Administration to beckon on the governor to shield his sword on the recovery of the land upon which he built his hotel allegedly acquired ' by false , sorry, by force ' using state government power during the Okorocha's Imo Rescue Mission Administration. And of course, it wouldn't go without finding them political kola-nut (ikwo ose).

While Chief Ozurigbo has maintained that his hotel, Sweet Peace Suites, had all the approvals from both Owerri Capital Development Authority and Ministry of Lands before it was built; and was neither built on green belts nor in contravention of the Laws on public buildings and purposes: yesterday, Tuesday, July 19, 2022, the Imo ENTRACO acting on the directives of Imo State Government after the implementation of the Whitepaper Committee on Lands and Related Matters, sealed Sweet Peace Suites with the inscription:

`` PROPERTY BELONGS TO CONCORD HOTEL SEALED BY ENTRACO/ IMSG .`` An exercise which drew the attention of the public and other passers- by who may not know the true position of the legality or illegality of the land acquisition until Chief Ugonna Ozurigbo either owns up or resorts to legal actions against the Imo State Government under Sen. Hope Uzodimma for traspass. Of course: `` He who comes to equity must come with clean hands. And he who seeks equity, must believe in equity.``

An obviously enraged Chief Ugonna Ozurigbo, now in the opposition People's Democratic Party, whom, sources close to him disclosed on the condition of anonymity that he is planning to resort to whipping up sheer online sentiments to be seen as being witch- hunted by the Shared Prosperity Administration under Sen. Hope Uzodimma; after leaving the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC. They also said, he will be engaging some media hirelings to make case for him especially, as he is seen by his numerous supporters and loyalists as their economic bread �� winner at a very challenging time like this.

Nevertheless, no responsive and responsible government in the discharge of her constitutional obligations for the common good of the people considers sentiments or emotions in executing her master plan for urban renewal and recovery of state owned stolen or mischievously cornered properties by a few individuals no matter how highly placed they are.

While Chief Ozurigbo and other affected owners of properties allegedly acquired through illegality during the previous administrations may dust their files for legal actions against the present administration in Imo State, Sen. Hope Uzodimma had maintained that the Whitepaper Implementation Committee on Lands and Other Related Matters must implement the recommendations to the letter as the demands of the Whitepaper is unambiguous. This is because both government and people's properties were illegally and fragrantly acquired by a few individuals and their cronies without regards to the rule of law.

On that special day, the prestigious Eko Hotels and Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos State, venue of the event, was filled to the brim with promenient Nigerians from all walks of life. No doubt, it was a gathering of the creme da la creme of the Nigerian society.

Chukwudi Jude Ihenetu (EzeIgbo Ghana, Global Peace Ambassador) has successfully warned his way into the Nigeria's socio-economic and leadership discuss as he was also invited to the south East Stakeholders' Meeting for Igbo Presidency in Abuja alongside Sen. Pius Anyiam, Gov. Dave Umahi of Ebonyi State, Sen. Chris Ngige, Owelle Rochas Okorocha, HRM, Eze Cletus Illomuanya, Sen. Chris Anyanwu, among promenient Igbo leaders.

SOLUDO CONDEMNS GRUESOME MURDER OF ANAMBRA STATE HOUSE MEMBER, HON OKECHUKWU OKOYE

PLEDGES N10M REWARD FOR ANY VALUABLE INFO TO TRACK THE KILLERS

Prof Chukwuma Charles Soludo; CFR, has received with shock and deep sadness the news of the gruesome murder of Hon. Okechukwu Okoye, member representing Aguata II Constituency at the State House of Assembly and his aide, Cyril Chiegboka. Both Hon Okoye and Cyril Chiegboka were kidnapped on the road by the heartless and barbaric murderers on 15th May.

Gov Soludo condoles with his kinsmen of Isuofia, noting that it is probably the same criminal gang that attacked him and killed three policemen at Isuofia two years ago that are once again on the prowl. But they can never cow down Isuofia and Anambra state.

Governor Soludo, still in shock over the barbaric acts against his two kinsmen, vowed that the perpetrators as well as all criminals operating in Anambra must be decisively brought to book.

Governor Soludo has consequently placed a N10 million reward for anyone or group that will avail valuable information that will lead to the immediate arrest of the perpetrators of this dastardly act. Anambra will soon be a hell for these criminals, Gov Soludo assured.

Governor Soludo wishes to reassure Ndi Anambra of government’s resolve and renewed determination with the security agencies to go all out against the criminals and ensure they are brought to justice. “Anambra will win against the forces of darkness”, Gov Soludo assured, urging Ndi Anambra to brace up for the all out war against the criminals.

I visited Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, yesterday, (Friday, 13th May, 2022) to felicitate with him and also as part of the wider consultations with critical stakeholders in search of lasting peace and security in the South East.

He was in very high spirits and we had quality and frank discussion in a very convivial atmosphere. He expressed sadness over what he described as “sacrilegious killings” of innocent persons, kidnappings and all forms of criminalities, including the brutal enforcement of the senseless “sit at home” perpetuated by sundry groups claiming to be acting for or on behalf of IPOB. He assured that if the opportunity arises, he will be glad to personally broadcast to his followers to maintain the peace.

Together, we shall restore peace, security and prosperity in Anambra and the Southeast.

Yesterday, I was accompanied by my lovely wife, H. E Barr. (Mrs) Chioma Uzodimma and my associates, as I received the "2021 Governor of the Year Award” from the prestigious SUN Awards held at Eko Hotels and Suites, Lagos State.

This award was given in recognition of the unprecedented achievements of the 3R administration in transforming our dear Imo State, despite prevailing challenges.

I dedicate this to the good people of Imo State, for their support and prayers as we diligently work towards the reconstruction, rehabilitation and recovery of our dear State. From district to district, we will keep the energy high at all times in our mission to developing the Eastern Heartland into a state we shall all be proud of.

I cannot express my gratitude enough to the management and organizing team of the 19th SUN Annual Award for highlighting the development strides in Imo State and sharing them with the nation. Additionally, I congratulate my co-recipients in other categories for their outstanding commitment to public service.

With the transparent system of governance in operation, Imo State is positioned to take center stage in industrialization. I do not doubt the competence of my administration in actualizing this dream.

Celebrating My Silver Jubilee
in the World’s Greatest Navy

This day 25 years ago, I reported to recruit training at  Naval Recruit Training Command, Great Lakes, IL.  Reporting as an Airman Recruit on May 7, 1997 marked the beginning of my long successful naval career in the World’s Greatest Navy.  What would have been a 4 year enlistment continued to this day. To date, I never regretted this decision and have continued to serve honorably.  I called this milestone “My Silver Jubilee” in the United States Navy.  Reminiscing the past 25 years,  I started to reflect on how I got here and how the course of my success was charted.  I can infer that I did make a difference and helped towards the growth and upward mobility of our young sailors.  I have guided and mentored 10 sailors to achieve their commissioning just like my mentors did for me while rising through the ranks.
 
I enlisted in the Navy a year after I immigrated to the USA in 1997 from Nigeria, West Africa. Joining the navy was the greatest decision that I made.  I have deployed aboard aircraft carriers, frigates, and destroyers defending freedom and democracy around the world. Prior to my commissioning in December 2008, I served aboard aircraft carriers and aviation squadrons for 10 years as an Aviation Mechanic; fixing aircraft engines, fuel systems, rotors and other associated components.  Right from the beginning while chocking and chaining jets on the flight deck, I knew that I wanted more than just fixing war planes.  I wanted to lead our sailors while continuing to serve honorably as a commissioned officer.  I started benefiting from those Programs for Afloat Education (PACE) courses offered at sea during every deployment as a young airman. I would enroll  at Community Colleges during my off duty hours.  I would request night shifts in order to attend classes in the mornings and afternoons.  A few years  later, the foundation that I laid from taking the PACE courses at sea resulted in earning my first degree in 2002. Seven other degrees would follow through the years as I navigated through my naval career. 
 
Reflecting on my hard work to earn my degrees and subsequent commissioning was that I was very focused on the chart that I plotted for myself.  I did not let distractions get in the way.  I denied myself from having fun like going to the clubs, hanging out and doing the things young sailors of today do.  But the main point was staying focused on my educational goals and to give back by taking care of our sailors.  Remaining on sea and shore duties, I participated in several military operations and equally succeeded.   I have adeptly managed multi-million Dollars Surface Ship maintenance and modernization. This job has taken me around the world.  I have visited many historic places in the world that I learned in Geography class during my secondary school days.   I have been to many countries that I have never dreamed of.  Rising through the enlisted ranks to commissioning in 2008, I have led sailors and civilian personnel from different backgrounds and succeeded in key leadership positions.   I have been entrusted to navigate multi billion dollar war ships and managed  maintenance on different types of military aircrafts.  I never would have wished or dreamed that a young man from Isu Ancient Kingdom in Nigeria would do these great things.  
 
My naval career has been a very unique one as I have experience in both Naval Aviation and Surface Warfare and currently as an Engineer and Acquisition Professional. Although retirement is in a few years, I have no regrets on my decision of being part of this great organization.  I stand tall with great zest and satisfaction as I continue to serve proudly with honor in the world’s GREATEST NAVY.  HOO YAH!!!
