Politics / OZB Officially Joins PDP, Says He Can't Remain Partyless Ahead Of The Elections by Njokuobinna(m): 7:33pm On Apr 23, 2022
Breaking News: Hon. Ugonna Ozurigbo Joins The People’s Democratic Party, Says He Cannot Remain Partyless Ahead Of 2023 General Elections.

Njoku Macdonald Obinna
Owerri , Imo State.

Following months of sustained speculations about his purported defection from the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, to the opposition People’s Democratic Party, PDP, it is no longer news that the member representating Nkwerre/Isu/Nwangele/Njaba Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives and House Committee Chairman on Justice, Chief Ugonna Ozurigbo, has officially joined the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, at his Umuozu Ward in Nwangele LGA, Imo State, to make known his intentions to run for a second term in office under the platform of his new party, the PDP.

While addressing the Umuozu Ward Executives of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Chief Ozurigbo briefly highlighted some of his remarkable achievements as a federal lawmaker and promised to do even better if given the party ticket for a second term in office. He however, admitted that he cannot continue to remain partyless since his faction of the APC was schemed out both at the state and federal levels aftermath of the party’s national convention in Abuja where the incumbent governor has upper hands in the party’s affairs.

Recall that Ugonna Ozurigbo was one of the major political arrowheads of the Rescue Mission Administration under Owelle Rochas Okorocha between 2015 -2019; an unrepented loyalist and avowed ally of the former governor who is now representing Imo West Senatorial District in the Red Chambers.

As Deputy Speaker, during his days at the State Assembly, it’s on his shoulders the responsibility of stabilizing the 8th Imo State House of Assembly as as well as shoring up the public confidence in the House rested having maintained cordial relationship with almost all the sectors of the state apparatus; Executive, Legislature and Judiciary, including people at the grassroots.

However, while his numerous supporters and followers have saluted his courage in taking such political decision at a time when Nigerians are relatively fed up with the president Muhammadu Buhari APC led federal government given the spate of killings, insecurity, poverty and agitations across the geo-political zones in the country, the major challenge facing his new political moves is the state governor, His Excellency, Distinguished Sen. Hope Uzodimma who is rooting for a replacement from either Isu or Njaba LGAs who felt completely shortchanged in the largest federal constituency since the return of modern democracy in 1999.

4th Estate Reporters gathered that apart from the alleged transferred aggression from Governor Hope Uzodimma to Chief Ugonna Ozurigbo, who is one of the backbones of his major rival in the state and former Imo governor, Owelle Rochas Okorocha, the federal lawmaker was reported to have openly maligned Sen. Hope Uzodimma in the presence of then national chairman of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Comrade Adams Aliyu Oshiomhole and his national working committee at Eagels Square Abuja, during the 2018 national convention of the All Progressives Congress, APC.

As the tussle for who secures the party ticket of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, ahead of the primaries tickens, Chief Ugonna Ozurigbo and Hon. Kingsely Echendu, remain, for the record time, two major contenders for the soul of Nkwerre/Isu/ Nwangele/Njaba Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives as both can boost of wide range of followership, strong presence, people -friendly and most accessible.

While OZB promises to sustain the tempo of his relative impressive legislative outing if re-elected for a second term in office, Hon. Kingsley Echendu boosts of surpassing what he termed: ” not too good performance of the federal legislator” given many untapped opportunities in Government Ministries, Departments And Agencies, MDAs, as he had accused the federal legislator of reducing his empowernment programs to mere distribution of motorcycles and kekenapap to the mass of the members of his constituency instead of the development of human capital.

Outside the above, Isu and Njaba people seem to have spoken with one voice as a number of pressure and advocacy groups canvass for an Isu man to represent the federal constituecy, having given stern warnig against political jobbers and sabouters that will alter this arrangement for the emancipation of the highly marginalized Isu and Njaba clan.

4th Estate Reporters had also scopped that , High Chief Cosmos Maduba , Oduebube Isu, Ikenga Isu and Hon. Barr. Harrison Nwadike are also eyeing the APC party ticket ahead of the primaries. OZB has established a name with his grassroots and People-Oriented brand of politics.

He has a far reaching audience, strong supporters base and the financial muscle to challenge anyone coming from any political party or LGA within the federal constituency. Anyone who must defeat OZB from the APC if given the PDP party ticket, is expected to be on the good books of the governor, LGA party leaders and command some level of followership at the grassroots.

Finally, as the supporters of the federal lawmaker give assurances that he would contest for a second term in office under PDP, political pundits and close observers are keenly watching who secures the ticket: is it OZB a new comer or Kingsely Echendu who has stood by the party over the years against all odds?

Politics / Okigwe 2023: Achiever Darlington Lampoons Princess Miriam Onuoha by Njokuobinna(m): 9:41pm On Apr 02, 2022
I talked about the selfishness of politicians and someone asked me to explain.

Now let me use this picture to highlight my explanation.

Late Engr. Ndubuisi Emenike would not have died if he didn't visit the house of Princess Miriam Onuoha to congratulate her on the 26th January 2020.

I was the person that called and connected Princess Miriam Onuoha with Late Engr. Emenike when I visited Engr. Late Ndubuisi Emenike Residence at Umuguma which Ugochukwu Onuoha went with me and Uzoma Sector and late Engr. Gave princess Onuoha millions of naira to support her campaign because the woman was broke then.

I was also together with Late. Engr. Ndubuisi Emenike in front of Princess Miriam Onuoha's gate when the unfortunate gunshots that led to Late Emenike death happened. I would have been a victim of the gunshots but God saved me.

Now the selfishness is this, Princess Miriam Onuoha that Late Engr. Ndubuisi died in front of her gate, never visited the wife of Engr. Ndubuisi Emenike to condole with his family neither did she attend his burial.

Princess Miriam Onuoha never attended the burial of a man that gave her millions of Naira to support her election, and she never paid her last respect to him nor condole with his family.

This is selfishness of the highest order.

Politics / Ogwuaga Abba: Okezie And Obinna's Jan. 2019 Phone Conversation by Njokuobinna(m): 4:18pm On Mar 28, 2022
OGWUAGA ABBA EZESHIP TUSSLE:

OKEZIE AND OBINNA'S JANUARY 2019 PHONE DIALOGUE REVEALED.

Indigenes of Ogwuaga Abba Autonomous Community, Nwangele Local Government Area, Imo State, should not be swayed by bias reports about the phone conversation between two brothers of same parents with 13 years age difference and 6 siblings between them who are involved in the Ezeship scrimmage but should seek for perfect understanding of the issues and accepting them within the right context and evidence away from sheer sentiments, stereotyping, radicalism and unnecessary boot-licking.

The subject conversations on the Ezeship matter between two blood brothers, Chief Obinna Akwiwu (Oshimiri 111 of Abba, Odokaraome 11, Nwachinemere 1, Nze Oshimiri Ukege), an astute administrator, a perfect gentleman , the leaders' leader, a humanitarian, renowned employer of labour and entrepreneur of no mean feat, and his younger brother Chief Okezie Akwiwu, a great business man of many years standing clearly explicates divergent interests. One is that of a leader who earnestly yearns for the constant consummation of our noble culture and upholding the values, norms and beliefs of the great Ogwuaga Abba Autonomous Community including total obedience to the customary one year mourning period for the late Eze G.G.I Ojiako before discussing his interest on the throne, as well as his absolute respect for other traditional practices which perfect our uniqueness as a people. The other reveals a man whose decisions are determined by some anonymous kingmakers and self acclaimed powerbrokers and the gullibility of a man who is deriving his ambition from purchased popularity from the morally deficient fanatics who obviously lack the requisite knowledge of culture and tradition and/ or choose to ignore it for instant gratifications.

Chief Okezie has tenaciously held unto the January 2019 phone conversation between him and his eldest brother as the latter's endorsement and relinquishment of his right to contest . He further concocted that Chief Obinna endorsed their cousin, Chief Azubuike Akwiwu, because of the former's inquiry of his proposal for Azubuike to be the next traditional ruler of Ogwuaga Abba Autonomous Community. This is a clear indication that Chief Okezie is confusedly dangling about in his crave to fulfill the demands of his advisors and promoters led by Chief Nnamdi Akwiwu, Dr Frank Ojiako and Justice K.A. Ojiako.

It was an inconclusive phone discussion in which Chief Okezie exhibited mastery roles in hiding the negative intent of his heart and his ulterior motives perhaps as instructed by his handlers and motivators. The call was strictly to inform his eldest brother that he was considering the approach by unnamed individuals to indicate interest in the magnificent throne of his forefathers but basically not to ascertain Chief Obinna's intention in that regard.

Of course, the fact that Chief Obinna did not bless or give his consent to the former's ambition should reveal his intentions. Okezie had something up his sleeves which deterred him from relating to his eldest brother later, when he decided to scramble for a seat that under normal circumstances he shd be supporting his brother for.

It is therefore, very pertinent for everyone to know that the only time Oshimiri said he was not interested in becoming the next traditional ruler of Ogwuaga Abba was in 2014, when it would have been unfair and atrocious to declare an open interest in becoming king when His Royal Majesty, Eze G.G.I Ojiako was still on the throne. This is also another argument Chief Okezie is clinching unto to claim Oshimiri's non interest in the throne.

The pyramid of lies Okezie built against the highly reverred Chief Obinna Akwiwu could not shield the unwavering love, absolute trust and unquestionable support the people of Ogwuaga Abba have in their Eze elect who in the last 30-35 years has been a dependable son to the community and Abba at large.

Learning of his brother's good health condition and total recovery in the course of their conversation was a total disappointment to Okezie and his fellow conspirators, because they were already peddling a rumour that he would not be fit to lead as a result of medical issues he had faces 7- 8 years before that conversation. To think that one’s blood sibling and his group were using this against him albeit unfairly even when knowing the truth is most heartbreaking.

However, from their erroneous human calculations, his unavailability would therefore have meant that Chief Okezie' s ambition of occupying the position that his brother was interested in would have been a smooth ride, but man is not God! Under normal circumstances, if Chief Obinna was not interested in the race, it is he who should have at a very elaborate gathering of stakeholders, presented Okezie to the community and asked for their support but instead the laughable kingmakers surreptitiously made arrangements to install Okezie who had no interest in the throne abnitio for reasons not far fetched.

The phone conversation and the accompanying issues raised by Chief Okezie, have confirmed wide gaps in his account of how Chief Obinna “was not interested”. It will be erroneous to entrust the traditional affairs of Ogwuaga to a man who can fight his blood brother who immensely contributed a lot to his upbringing and the foundation that he and many other beneficiaries deny today. We can only hope and pray that Chief Okezie and his ill-advised handlers see the voice of reason, culture, morality and decency and end this unecesaary pursuit of elusive throne. He is reputed to be generous and hardworking and the good people of Ogwuaga Abba would be proud to support him in a political contest where his services can be put to good use at the National Assembly as suggested by a well known Imo- Abba born Media Consultant, Peace Advocate, News Reporter and Publisher of 4th Estate Reporters, Njoku Macdonald Obinna.

Those who have constituted themselves as kingmakers have crookedly creeped into this respected Akwiwu Dynasty to cause a monumental generational mayhem. Regrettably, the elders who ought to ensure that two blood brothers are not at loggerheads, are now the source of the polluted water in the community. Indeed, there is absolute erosion of trust in today's world.

The 2019 phone conversation is emphasized because it was the last verbal communication between the duo concerning Ezeship until the April 20, 2019 Meeting at Umuogbu where Okezie and his group began the journey of peddling lies and falsehood and have successfully run a campaign of calumny and classified propaganda culminating in the division the community has been engulfed in ever since. Extremely selfish I would say!

Also regrettably to note that, these men who parade themselves with a deceitful toga of kinsmen and brothers must put off the raging fires of hatred, envy, backbiting and other clandestine activities they are delibrately igniting on two blood brothers, for their
personal aggrandizement and instead uphold truth, justice, equity and fairness.

This piece of information is relevant to people who may have been misinformed or flagabasted by the turn out of events.

Various reporters who have read in the last few weeks various stories coming out of Ogwuaga are making enquiries with relevant stakeholders to unearth the truth and make it public.

Chief Okezie Akwiwu should as a matter of urgency be advised and encouraged to shelve this pursuit and stop the deep division his ambition has caused in the community. He should remember that it is his name and character that is under heavy scrutiny and infamy and not those pushing him to continue this ugly game.

Those who truly mean well for the continued unity, peace and progress of this most respected community should stand to be counted for the sake of posterity!

May love continue to lead in Ogwuaga Abba!

Ogwuaga Abba Ezeship tussle: The lies, the intrigues and the actors

By Victor Amadi

Owerri, Imo State.

Respect is a social virtue inculcated in the children by either parents or guardians, or by extension, school or religious teachers.

In trying to build a child's cognitive growth, respect becomes a major component, as well as other virtues which are impacted in him at various stages of his age.

The parents or guardians begin this exercise early with the child. This is because children have fast level of assimilation, just as their growth.

This is why you see children of same parents using the word, 'Dede', which means my elder, as a mark of respect to the older ones. At extreme cases however, a defiant child is beaten or flagellated for failing to accord that respect to elders especially in the public.

Food, at various homes in Igboland, is normally shared among the children in order of their ages. This is applicable to other inheritance such as landed property, money, cars et all, which a father may wish to share among his offsprings.

From time immemorial, Igbo culture and tradition has remained sacred as instituted by the forefathers.

Kingship on its own, is not alien to the tradition of Igboland. The processes and principles have remained unchangeable from generation to generation.

Customarily, the first son of the family is charged with much responsibility. He plays a supporting role to his father and until the father departs, he remains a subordinate.

The crisis raging on in Ogwuaga Abba land where two biological brothers, Obinna Akwiwu (elder brother) and Okezie Akwiwu (younger brother) are at loggerheads over the traditional stool of the community, should have died a natural death if the younger one, Okezie Akwiwu, realizes the implications of his action. It is important to note that there was a rotational agreement amongst the villages In Ogwuaga and it was the turn of Amato to produce the next Eze. Naturally, the Akwiwu family being at the forefront of development alongside others was considered and names were thrown up starting with that of Chief Obinna Akwiwu owing to his contributions to his kindred, village and community over the last 35 years and offcourse his status in the Akwiwu family being the first son of Chief E.C Akwiwu SAN.

As an insider who has been taking full stock of the situation as it has to do with the enthronement of a new Eze of Ogwuaga Abba since the death of the traditional ruler, His Royal Majesty, Eze G. G. I Ojiako in 2018, it will be a wrong interpretation to say that Nze Obinna Akwiwu, the Eze-elect of Ogwuaga Abba ancient kingdom, had overtly rejected the throne for any reason.

Without sounding immodest, what Nze Obinna Akwiwu did was to allow time to run its full course since it was a taboo to start discussing the enthronement of HRM, Eze (Justice) G.G.I Orjiako (C. J Rtd) KSM, CON, (Dim Ohamadike I of Ogwuaga Abba) of blessed memory, just a few months after his death.

Customarily, the late traditional ruler was supposed to be mourned for a period of one year, as a mark of honour and appeasement of his soul. Only then, discussion on who will be enthroned, would take center stage.

It should also be noted that there are normally stringent penalties for any individual or group of individuals who, out of desperation, violate the sacred mourning period.

Okezie and his accomplices should be made to undertake the appeasement exercise for desecrating the sacred period.

Secondly, he should be warned by the custodians of the land of the dire consequences of desperately dragging a traditional throne with his elder brother. The gods are not in slumber.

Thirdly, he should be sued for causing breach of relative peace and tranquility which the land is reputed for.

However, it is important to recall Okezie's several claims to have spoken to his elder brother regarding the throne where he accused him (Obinna Akwiwu) to have consented to his entreaties. This is a total fallacy!

It imperative to note that Okezie's phone to Obinna in London was the first and only time there was overseas call between them since 2001.

Obinna being an experienced Chief in traditional matters could not have been engulfed with much excitement as to put his heart ahead of his head and say everything, without first sounding out the critical stakeholders of Ogwuaga at the appropriate future time.

The telephone call was privileged and couldn't have been a valid basis for resurrecting and acting on conversation of 4 years back when the matter was first put to Chief Obinna while Eze Ojiako was alive.

Okezie merely told Oshimiri III of his being contacted, and disclosed that he was yet to make up his mind to consider it. At no time did he ever tell Obinna that he had decided to go for it. At no time either did he ascertain Oshimiri III's intention. But who says he (Oshimiri III) was not ready to take up the mantle? Why would well meaning ppl decide to go town with this false narrative?

The only time Oshimiri said he was not interested was in 2014, when it would have been sheer wickedness to say any such thing while Eze G.G.I. Orjiako, was still on the throne. Okezie's position is a complete fabrication of a coterie led by Justice K.A Orjiako Mr. Geoffrey Akwiwu and Chief Nnamdi Akwiwu. His participation is founded on lies, and should not be allowed as a lesson for posterity.

Only the deceitful mind of a liar could have misconstrued this absolutely privileged, private brotherly conversation, with no third-parties present, as regards endorsement of anybody.
In any case, what traditional right has Obinna to impose anybody of the people of Ogwuaga?

Okezie as a Knight of the Anglican Church, should not be reminded of the need for truthfulness at all times.

A very important point is that he (Okezie Akwiwu) had in the first quarter of 2020, confirmed to co-in-law who, in turn, passed on the confirmation to a friend of the Akwiwu family that Oshimiri III's version of the phone call, no Okezie's was the correct one.

In other words, he NEVER told Oshimiri III anything beyond that he had been approached , and was considering it. He confirmed Oshimiri never consented and blessed him.

In effect, he confessed that he had infested the polity with lies, yet these past three years rather than correct the situation, he persisted with his lies. His ambition is therefore premised on terrible lies which have entirely disqualified him from the race.

After the end of January 2019 phone call, there was no future contact in any shape or form between Oshimiri III and Okezie until the Umuogbu meeting of April 20, 2019 at which Okezie and his group unleashed their ambush.

Those peddlers of falsehood sponsored by a desperate brother are merely feeding fat from the situation. They should be bold enough to say the truth.

They went as far as misinforming the public that Nze Obinna Akwiwu has already endorsed his younger brother for the traditional throne and had formally made a huge financial donation to that effect. Lies from the pit of hell!

The donation which the Eze-elect, Nze Obinna Akwiwu made and redeemed was for the Umuogbu kindred share of Ama Ato village registration fees with Ogwuaga town union where he pledged N409,000.

Although, some miscreants in their misleading stock in trade, degraded the amount to be N280,000 misconstrued however to have been donated for the massive registration of Umuogbu for the Ezeship election.

These hirelings receiving payment from Okezie, have forgotten so soon, the role which Nze Obinna played during the burial of late Traditional Ruler, His Royal Majesty, Eze G.G.I Orjiako.

They are only blind-folded with the paltry sums which they receive as a weekly or monthly salary from their paymasters. No, they won't say the truth because they were not paid to do so.

And for those basking in the euphoria that Nze Obinna Akwiwu, was not eventually given a staff of office by the Governor of Imo state, it is not yet uhuru. It may only be delayed but not denied owing to his recognition by the government.

Governor Hope Uzodinma is an Igbo man and a father who also has a senior brother who he loves and cherished . He knows the rudiments of Igbo tradition and will apply the wisest measure in this situation.

The Governor, as we all know, cannot be influenced by material gifts or persuasions of any sort. He will surely do justice to the situation by giving staff of office to Nze Obinna Akwiwu, who is the authentic Eze-elect of Ogwuaga Abba autonomous community.

There is a luxury of opportunity for Chief Okezie Akwiwu and his accomplices to throw in the towel and support the Ezeship of his elder brother, Nze Obinna Akwiwu pending the Governor's call up for issuance of staff of office.

A child may be beaten with the left hand and be consoled with the right. The window of apology and reconciliation is still open for Chief Okezie Akwiwu, for a hood does not make a monk.

A word is enough for the wise!

Politics / Communique Issued By PDP Governors' Forum At The End Of Their Meeting by Njokuobinna(m): 5:07pm On Mar 23, 2022
COMMUNIQUE ISSUED BY THE PDP GOVERNORS’ FORUM AT THE END OF THEIR MEETING AT ABA, ABIA STATE OF NIGERIA

The PDP Governors’ Forum comprising all elected Governors of the Peoples Democratic Party held its regular meeting on Wednesday, 23rd March, 2022, at Aba, Abia State.

The meeting reviewed the excruciating hardship and suffering being meted out to Nigerians by a failed APC led Federal Government; the near collapse of the APC as a viable political party, the readiness of the PDP to take over and offer qualitative leadership options to rescue the nation and issued the following Communique:

1. We lament the terrible pain and hardship facing Nigerians in virtually all aspects of life. The meeting noted that life was much better in 2015 under the PDP than today under the APC as exemplified in the following Comparative Indicators obtained mainly from the National Bureau of Statistics:

a. Diesel which is critical for running of SMEs was N131.47 in 2015, it now costs above N700
b. Fuel: Official and Black-Market was N87/155 in 2015, it now costs N167/350.
c. Aviation Fuel/Air Ticket Rate on Domestic Flights was N110 per Litre/N18,000 in 2015, it now hovers around N700 per Litre/N70,000, where available. Indeed, the scarcity of fuel which has resulted in loss of several man hours is a disgrace to Nigeria.
d. The collapse of the National Grid (126 times in 7 years – (June 2015 to March 2022) and its consequences for non-availability of power is most unfortunate.
e. Kerosene (NHK) used by the ordinary Nigerian for cooking and power was N180 in 2015, it now sells at ₦450.
f. Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) - 12.5kg Cylinder sold for N2,400 in 2015, is now sold at between N8,750 and N10, 000.
g. Prices of basic food stuffs are now three times higher than what they used to be in 2015. Staple foods such as rice, beans, cassava flakes are now slipping out of the hands of average Nigerians. Indeed, a Bag of Rice sold for N8500 in 2015 is now N39,000.
h. Electricity was N14.23 per kilowatt in 2015, it is now N38.530, and not even available.
i. Unemployment rate was 11.4% in 2015, it is now over 33%, one the highest in the world.
j. The poverty rate in 2015 was 11.3% but now about 42.8%.
k. Accumulated Inflation in 2015 was about 4%, it is now 15.50%; Inflation Rate was 9.01% in 2015 and now 15.7%.
l. Perhaps the Exchange Rate has been one of the most disastrous. N150 to a dollar was the parallel market (patronised by most businessmen and Nigerians) rate in 2015, it is now about N580 to $1 in the parrel market and still rising.
m. Debt and Debt Servicing:
Domestic Debt of N8.4T and External Debt of USD 7.3b was incurred between 1999-2015.
While Domestic Debt of N7.63T (June 2015-Dec 2020) and USD28.57b as at Dec 2020 was incurred. External debt of USD21.27b was incurred between June 2015 and 2021.
n. National Debt to GDP Ratio was 23.41% (2016) it is now 36.88% (2022).
o. The Corruption Index has risen from 136 in 2015 to 150 now.
p. Nigeria's Misery Index, an indicator used in determining how economically well off the citizens of a country are, is usually calculated by adding the seasonally adjusted unemployment rate to the annual inflation rate, has moved from 14.75 percent in 2015 to 50.48 (2021).
q. The major threat to the agricultural sector and food security in Nigeria is insecurity. In the northeast of Nigeria, it is estimated that no fewer than 70,000 hectares of arable farmland have been abandoned in the affected States and Local Government areas. The trend is the same all over the country. This further contributes to food inflation. The APC led Federal Government must take steps to cooperate with States to bring security down to the grassroots.

2. The Forum is surprised that in the face of these statistics of complete failure in all ramifications and areas, the APC still wants to be on the ballot in 2023.

This shows how uncaring and insensitive the APC is. IT HAS BECOME A MENACE TO NIGERIA.

3. The Forum urges Nigerians to reject the APC, a party run undemocratically by a Committee contrary to the Constitution (S.228) with Mr. President regularly issuing instructions and dictates. It is impossible for a party so disorganized to offer good governance to the people of Nigeria.

4. The meeting expressed concern and alarm over various reports and claims of incidents of stealing of crude oil ranging from 80% to 95% of production made by industry practitioners and called on the Federal Government to set up an appropriate mechanism to reverse this trend and bring perpetrators to account.

5. The PDP Governors once again decried the inability of the NNPC to make its statutory contributions to the Federation Account, inspite of Oil selling at above $110. It is patently unconstitutional for NNPC to determine at its whim and discretion when and what to pay to the Federation Account, as it is a mere trustee of the funds for the three tiers of Government: Federal, States and Local Governments. We once again, call for investigations and audit of the quantity of consumption of fuel ascribed to Nigerians and for deployment of technology at the filling stations to determine in a transparent manner the volume of consumption.

The Governors would resist any further attempt by NNPC to ascribe unsubstantiated subsidy claims to other tiers of government.

6. Furthermore, S.162 (1) of the 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria as amended stipulates that “The Federation shall maintain a special account to be called “the Federation Account” into which shall be
paid all revenues collected by the Government of the Federation…”
and S.162 (10) states that “For the purpose of subsection (1) of this section, “revenue” means any income or return accruing to or derived by the Government of the Federation from any source and includes –
(a) any receipt, however described, arising from the operation of any law;
(b) any return, however described, arising from or in respect of any property held by the Government of the Federation;
(c) any return by way of interest on loans and dividends in respect of shares or interest held by the Government of the Federation in any company or statutory body”

a. As of today, 18 (Eighteen) Federation Revenue Agencies are not paying/remitting any revenue to the FAAC Account. These include (i) Central Bank of Nigeria (ii) Nigeria Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA) (iii) Nigeria Liquefied National Gas (NLNG) (iv) Nigeria Communication Commission (NCC) (v) Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) (vi) NPA (vii) Security and Exchange Commission etc

(b) FIRS and DPR takes cost of collection of 4% (Four percent) of Revenue collected while Customs collects 7%. In March 2022 for instance, FIRS took N15.4Billion as cost of collection and Customs took N8.4b. If these are annualised, FIRS and Customs collects about N1.84Billion and Customs N100B per annum. Obviously, some states of the Federation’s capital budget does not come close to these.

(c) Nigeria Federation has 49% shareholding in NLNG. According to the Minister of Finance during the 2020 budget performance brief at the National Assembly stated that the federation received dividend of N144billion (One Hundred and Forty Four Billion) from NLNG. These figure to the best of our knowledge was never paid into the Federation Account.

(d)) NNPC deducts N8.33Billion monthly for the rehabilitation of the Refineries in Nigeria. Till date no refinery is working.

(e) On priority projects of the Nation’s oil industry, NNPC deducted N788.78Billion for various investments between 2018-2021 without recourse to FAAC.

(f) NNPC in 2021 alone claimed to have paid over One Trillion Naira as petroleum subsidy. Indeed, the month of March 2022, N220Billion was deducted as oil subsidy with a promise that N328Billion will be deducted in April 2022. This is unacceptable.

(g) NNPC and FIRS as well as other remitting Agencies continue to apply an exchange rate of N389/$1 as against the Import and Export window of N416/$1. The extent of this leakage can be better felt, if this rate is compared to the current N570/$1.

2023: FIGURES TO WATCH IN OKIGWE NORTH

The 2023 general election in Nigeria is ten to 11 months away but the activities leading to the election like national conventions, elections of non ad-hoc delegates of various political party, purchasing of nomination and expression of interest forms and primary elections for political parties have commenced in earnest.

In Okigwe North federal constituency of Imo state, there are politicians who will make serious headlines before, during and after the election.

They are

Obinna Onwubuariri: Obinna Onwubuariri made history by becoming the youngest member of the 8th national Assembly. The businessman turned politician was only 37 when he shattered all the known political protocols to emerge the winner of the 2015 house of representatives election in the federal constituency which is made up of Isiala Mbano/ Onuimo and Okigwe Local Government Areas of the state. Though reelected in 2019, the Amaraku in the the Isiala Mbano LGA born graduate of the Federal University of Technology, Owerri, was sacked six months after he sworn in again. A supplementary election was organized by the Independent National Electoral Commission thereafter in 2020 but he lost to the incumbent, Miriam Onuoha.

Onwubuariri is believed to had built a strong political following, because of his loyalty to the Peoples Democratic Party despite being in the opposition in the state. Though he had yet to declare for any electoral post, he will make strong headlines politically as the days go by.

Chikwem Onuoha: Popularly known as Omeiheukwu, Onuoha is believed to have the most effective and deeply rooted political structure in the whole of the Okigwe North federal constituency presently. Believed to had won the 2011 and 2019 federal constituency elections in the area, Onuoha is a former Deputy Chief Of Staff to a former governor of Imo state, Ikedi Ohakim. A position he used effectively to impact on the people of the federal constituency. Onuoha is no new name in the politics of Okigwe North nay Imo state. He had sought the ticket of the All Progressives Congress for the Okigwe zone bye- election in 2020 but lost to senator frank Ibezim after the party refused to hold any transparent primary election. A known ally of the state governor, Hope Uzodinma, Onuoha, is known for his genuine philanthropy, political sagacity and huge interest in human capital development. Though he had yet to announce his political perspective for the 2023 elections, the Umuaro 11 of Isiala Mbano LGA born South African trained communications graduate will make strong headlines politically in Okigwe Federal Constituency as the 2023 general elections activities play out. He is currently in the ruling All Progressives Congress.

Stanley Ekezie : Described as one of the most well educated politicians in the federal constituency, Stanley Ekezie is currently an ex -officio of the Peoples Democratic Party for the south East zone. Though he lost the 2019 primary election to Onwubuariri, Ekezie married to a jurist is believed to be enjoying the support of the stakeholders of the PDP in the federal constituency, Okigwe zone and Imo state. Ekezie changed his political strategy after he lost to Onwubuariri in 2019 primary election of the PDP and said to be known locally now. He was the Director General of Emma Okewulonu, the PDP'S candidate for the 2020 bye-election in Okigwe zone senatorial district. Ekezie is a known ally of a former governor of the state, Emeka Ihedioha, who is said to be the leader of the PDP in the state. Ekezie also enjoys the support of the leader of the PDP in the Okigwe North federal constituency, Chief Chinedu Chukwuonye. The relationship issues expert is yet to publicly announce his interest politically for the next election but sources close to him say that he is eyeing the PDP's ticket for the Okigwe North federal constituency. He will indeed make strong headlines, politically as the activities heralding the next elections hot up.

+ Njoku Maconald Obinna

Okigwe LGA, Imo State.

Following the height of injustice in the power sharing pattern of Imo North Senatorial District; Okigwe South and Okigwe North, and the sustained outcry for equity, fairness, justice and inclusiveness, Okigwe North Youth Progressive Forum: A powerful registered broadminded and issue based non-partisan organization with the Corporate Affairs Commission of Nigeria, CAC, made up of illustrious sons and daughters of Okigwe North, concerned stakeholders, technocrats, opinion moulders and strategic leaders, converged a historical meeting at the Sea Fortune Royal Suite, Ago Palace Way, Okota Area of Lagos State, on Sunday, March 6, 2022, for deliberations on how best to move Okigwe North forward through equity, fairness and justice in public office sharing pattern.

In a well worded comminque released to the press and which was signed by the duo of Comr. Sylvanus Chidimma Onyenagbuo, National President of Okigwe Youth Progressive Forum , and his Secretary, Comr. Charles Ogu; after the extensive and engaging deliberation, the Forum however, resolved in strong terms for the need to zone Imo North Senatorial District's ticket in the 2023 general elections to Okigwe North in the far reaching resolutions made by the critical stakeholders in the well attended meeting as follows :

1. It was reempahasised that Okigwe North Youth Progressive Forum, a non-partisan organization made up of people from different political parties, backgrounds , trainings and religious leanings with a common objective of ensuring equity, fairness and justice in power sharing and inclusive representation in the Imo North Senatorial District.

2. That a vote of confidence was unanimously passed on the Executive of Okigwe North Youth Progressive Forum under the national leadership of Comr. Chidimma Onyenagbuo.

3. That by 2023, Okigwe - South should have represented Imo North Senatorial District in the Senate for 16 uninterrupted years back -to- back; starting with Sen. Sylvester Anyanwu from Obowo Local Government Area, 2007 - 2011. Sen. Mathew Nwagwu from Obowo Local Government Area, 2011 - 2015. Sen. Athan Achonu from Ehime Mbano Local Government Area, 2015 -2016, Sen. Benjamin Uwajumogu from Ihitte Uboma Local Government Area, 2016 - 2020. And the current occupant of the coveted seat, Sen. Franklin Ibezim from Ehime Mbano LGA, 2020- 2023.

4. That, for the interest of equity, fairness, justice and peace, Okigwe North which is made up of Isiala Mbano, Onuimo and Okigwe LGAs, resolved that Okigwe North should be given the opportunity to take a stint at the plum office in the next general elections by fieldng a credible candidate for the Imo North Senatorial District's coveted seat.

5. That, the continued injustice meted against the good people of Okigwe North, lack of inclusiveness, non- recognition of Okigwe North political bloc in the equitable distribution of dividends of democracy , the winner- takes-it- all syndrome in what has become a skewed political system have awakened consciousness among the people who now want to know who becomes what, from which political zone and the power sharing formular in the leadership formation of Imo North Senatorial District.

6. That, under the current Shared Prosperity Administration in Imo State led by Gov. Hope Uzodimma, Okigwe North has remained the most marginalized interms of the sharing pattern of public and political offices as her counterpart boosts of having all the juicy positions namely; Minister of Education for State (Ehime Mbano LGA), Senator representing Imo North Senatorial District in the Nigerian Senate (Ehime Mbano LGA), Secretary to the Government of Imo State (Ehime Mbano LGA), and Speaker of the Imo State House of Assembly (Obowo LGA); all from Okigwe South.

7. The Forum therefore, resolved to write to the three major political parties in Imo State namely: All Progressives Congress, APC, People's Democratic Party, PDP, and the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, to present their candidates from Okigwe North as the people have unanimously agreed to support only sons and daughters of Okigwe North running for elective positions in the 2023 general elections, and also urged people with political ambition to declare their intentions.

8. The Forum also resolved that the House of Representatives' position is open for the three local government areas in Okigwe North namely: Isiala Mbano, Onuimo and Okigwe LGAs, respectively. And maintained that it can start from any local government area since all had taken their turn and stint at the plum office since the return of modern democracy in 1999.

9. The Forum also resolved to seek an audience with the Imo State governor, His Excellency, Sen. Hope Uzodimma through a select high powered delegation of Okigwe North leaders to support a candidate from Okigwe North ahead of the 2023 general elections.

10. The leadership of Okigwe North Youth Progressive Forum finally resolved to commend Gov. Hope Uzodimma for fulfilling his promise of constructing the ongoing Owerri /Okigwe road.

Okigwe North Federal Constituency, having woken up from our deep slumber, we have so far realized but not too late how much we have had our back to the wall through underdevelopment as a result of poor or absence of effective representation since 2007 till date. Therefore, we are left with no other option than to ask for what is rightfully ours.

We have no alternative now than to break the shackles and feathers with which an evil political veil had been long used to hold us captives. And our battle cry is as simple as it is : ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!

SHOCKING!! RT. HON. MIKE ETABA IN THE NEWS FOR WRONG REASONS, ACCUSED OF DIVERTING OVER N500MILLION COVID-19 RELIEF FUNDS, BEGINS TO BRIBE APC LEADERS AHEAD OF 2023 GENERAL ELECTIONS.

....Bassey Duke

The House of Representatives Member Representing Obubra/Etung Federal Constituency has come under fire over the alleged embezzlement of over 500million Naira COVID-19 Relief Fund meant for his Constituents as part of Federal Government Intervention to cushion the effect of COVID-19 between 2020 to 2021.

The fund received, formed part of the disbursement carried out by the Coalition Against COVID-19 (CACOVID) and the Federal Government COVID-19 Taskforce headed by the SGF Boss Mustapha and through the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development. According to budgIT, a civic Organization dedicated to social accountability and transparency, the Federal Government via a 2020 Appropriation (Amendment) Act, under various headings, provided COVID-19 funding and assistance. For context, 500billion Naira was set aside from the total amount of 2.3 trillion Naira budgeted by the Federal Government through its Economic Sustainability Plan (ESP).

The Member of Parliament was said to have received the relief funds in lieu of Palliatives for his Constituents but failed to utilize same for his Constituents. As the 2023 election draws near, reports available to us, suggests that the member of Parliament has started bribing Leaders of his Party to secure his 3rd ambition. Available report reveal that the member of Parliament gave the sum of #10million Naira to selected leaders in Etung Local Government Area, while another 10million Naira was given to Hon. Alex Irek and Ernest Irek.

The selected Etung Leaders that received the money are said to be making moves to reconcile Mike Etaba with Senator John Owan-Enoh, to pave way for him to clinch the APC ticket.

Meanwhile, the House of Reps member has also been accused of embezzling money meant for people living with disabilities, which prompted One Dr. Job Agbor, one of the persons living with disabilities from Etung Local Government Area to petition him to the ICPC. Currently, there's an ongoing investigation by ICPC to unravel more facts about the petition.

Politics / A Closer Look At Uzodimma's Strategy And Questions About Credibility In Ngor Okp by Njokuobinna(m): 6:36am On Mar 02, 2022
ANALYSING THE OUTCOME OF NGOR-OKPALA BYE -ELECTION, THE PASSIVE- AGGRESSIVE STRATEGY ADOPTED BY HOPE UZODIMMA , QUESTIONS ABOUT CREDIBILITY OF THE ELECTORAL PROCESS AND MATTERS ARISING.

+ Njoku Macdonald Obinna

Owerri, Imo State.

While you may not agree with my assertion about the political capacity, spread of acceptability and strength of popularity of the candidacy of Okenze Blyden Amajirionwu of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in the last Saturday bye -election for Ngor-Okpala vacant seat at the Imo State House of Assembly, it is an irrevocable fact that the State governor, Sen. Hope Uzodimma, did not only make a wise decision, but a right choice in nominating the ace politician to fill-up the vacant seat abandoned by Hon. Tochi Okereke of the People's Democratic Party, PDP, through unrepentant trauncy and absenteeism.

As supporters, members and critical stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress, APC, including appointees of the 3R Government are jumping up and down in celebration of a rather 'phyrric victory', what they have failed to understand is that it wasn't just the political party that delivered their candidate, Blyden Amajirionwu, but his popularity, acceptability, singularity of purpose in leadership and constant touch with the people at the grassroots.

Okenze Blyden Amajirionwu, a former Imo State Publicity Secretary of the People's Democracy, had once contested for Aboh Mbaise|Ngor -Okpala Federal Constituency in the 2011 general elections against Rt. Hon. Emeka Ihedioha, is on ground; a people's man. Little wonder, Hope Uzodimma, a smart boardroom political strategist capitalized on these sailent factors to project him order than younger aspirants like; Okereke Godson Bishop and Eziefule Opara.

Borrowing a leaf from Prof. Nnamdi Obiaraeri that; " Congratulations is better than sorry." I would have said: "It is as ironical as it's embarrassing to see a deluge of the membership and entire leadership of the All Progressives Congress, Imo APC, jubiliating and throwing party bash over the just concluded Imo State House of Assembly bye-election for vacant Ngor-Okpala constituency. As someone questioned on my post: " Ordinary bye -election?" While no victory is cheap, but with the level of financial commitments, political engagements, social re-engineering and preparations put in place for that singular electoral outing, one might think Imo was preparing for another general elections. But it is understandably so, when you see it from the prism of a popularity contest between the incumbent governor, Sen. Hope Uzodimma and his immediate predecessor, Rt. Hon. Emeka Ihedioha. It ought to have also served as a litmus test of the acceptability of Governor Hope Uzodimma by Imo people from the eyes of the Presidency and the powerful Northern Caliphate who installed him on that seat through the most controversial Supreme Court judgement of January 14, 2020.

The honest truth remains that, Governor Hope Uzodimma would have invariably lost the presidential audience he enjoys from Muhammadu Buhari, his background support and confidence if the People's Democratic Party had won the Saturday bye -election in Imo State; having been randomly defeated in two national assignments as Presidential Campaign Council Chairman during Edo State Governorship Elections and Anambra State Governorship Elections, respectively. To Onwa Onyoko, it is a '' do or die affair" hoo-ha. You can go to court- Election Tribunal, to seek redress and judgement. Ofcourse, he is a political powerhorse in legal fireworks and court processes. You can ask Chief Emeka Ihedioha and Owelle Rochas Okorocha.

Aftermath of last Saturday's political melodrama, I asked in retrospect: Why must the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, struggle so hard to win an ordinary bye-election for a vacant position which was won by the People's Democratic Party in the 2019 general elections?

The sheer absurdity of the phyrric victory is also coming on the heels that the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, with all the political arsenal at its disposal, intimidating armed security personnel at its peck and call, well oiled and financed state campaign council, thoroughly mobilized state working committee of the party, mobilized Interim Council Chairmen across the 27LGAs, Special Advisers, Senior Special Assistants, Commissioners, Heads of Department, the entire members of the Imo State House of Assembly; including the state governor for the bye -election, is likening to the ongoing power supremacy between Russia and Ukarine.

However, if after two years on the saddle as a governor who is in power and in government at both state and federal levels, you are still struggling and loosing sleep over an ordinary bye-election for a vacant seat at the Imo State House of Assembly then, you must sit back and reassess your acceptability by the people.

If the 20 APC members, Speaker, Deputy Speaker, Majority leader, a serving Senator; Frank Ibezim, serving Minister; Chief Emeka Nwajiuba, two serving House of Representatives members; Deacon Chike Okafor and Hon. Miriam Onuoha, etc, are mobilized to convince the people as well as canvass for votes and galvanize supports for their candidate in Ngor -Okpala, Blyden Amajirionwu, it means the governor has alot of work to do especially, as a little known and unpopular Jeff Emeka Nwachukwu of the People's Democratic Party; nominated by Rt. Hon. Bede Eke against Emeka Ihedioha's preferred popular candidate, secured more than 65% votes count: 7,161 as against the 9,248 votes of a rather well known and popular Blyden Amajirionwu with 100 % State party's political structure, financial backing and security deployment.

From what played out in the last Saturday bye-election in Imo as the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC , was struggling so hard to win on a landslide victory, there are three major factors I have dispassionately deciphered will save anyone aspiring for any elective positions ahead 2023 polls on the platform of the party: your popularity, acceptability and financial capacity, not necessarily the party especially, with the newly signed Electoral Act Amendment Bill . Because in 2023 general elections, all these people must go back to their various local government areas to deliver themselves and the card- readers shall be our living witnesses as everybody answers the father's name.

Judging from above backdrop, it is therefore, not surprising to see Governor Hope Uzodimma adopted both Gorilla and Passive -Aggressive political strategy when he allegedly received a brief that majority of Ngor -Okpala electorate were still voting PDP after collecting the N10,000.00 bounty shared by the 3R agents at the various polling units. Before you could say Jack, a dozen of armed security personnel were reportedly deployed to the various INEC wards for security and patrol surveillance in an ordinary bye-election. But why would you collect money from the All Progressives Congress, APC, and voted against the party in the name of political correctness? Why can't Ngor-Okpala voters behave like Anambra people who rejected vote smugglers and their money, but voted their conscience and choice candidate, Prof. Charles Soludo?

Do you blame the governor or his handlers for adopting a passive aggressive strategy ? As the presence of harmless army battalion became the ultimate terror that paralysed the people's will to resist and destroy their ability to plan a strategic response over the alleged electoral fraud that happened at Sentiego hotel, airport road, by alleged government appointees working for Sen. Hope Uzodimma and the All Progressives Congress.

In a typical political warfare, sowing uncertainty and panic through acts of terror or intimidating military presence especially, with the security impasse in some LGAs in Imo State and across the South East also contributed in scaring away alot of eligible voters from participating in the exercise as out of the 94,118,00 registered voters captured by the Independent Electoral Commission, INEC, only 18,83,00 voters were accredited and 17,280,00 total valid votes counted.

Regrettably, the goal in terror or gorilla-like campaign is not battlefield victory but causing maximum chaos and fear while provoking the opposing political side into desperate overreaction; melting invisibly into the population , tailoring their actions for the mass and socia media: just like the political alarm Ikenga Ugochinyere Imo and other media hirelings of the people's Democratic Party were doing on Saturday, as Gov. Hope Uzodimma and his APC footsoliders were having a field day at the various polling units across the 11 INEC wards that made up Ngor-Okpala State Constituency. It is a war of nerves. And Gov. Hope Uzodimma has a Doctorate Degree (PHD) in this Political Arts of seduction.

Moving forward. Ahead 2023 general elections, the People's Democratic Party, PDP, All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, Action Alliance , AA, and other victims of political terror in Imo State must study the Uzodimma's dangerous skimming political strategy, and must not succumb to fear or even anger; but must plot the most effective counter- strategy and stay balanced. Because in the face of a terror political campaign, your rationality is the last line of defense.

Finally, while many accusations and counter- accusations have gone out about alleged electoral fraud and manipulations recorded at the various polling units in Ngor-Okpala during last Saturday's bye-election in Imo State,by the People's Democratic Party against the All Progressives Congress, APC, which is the bane of political development in Nigeria. Regrettably, the time frame to adjudicate this matter is limited as the nation prepares for another general elections come 2023.

To this end, to defeat a passive -aggressive political warrior, boardroom political strategist and goal-getter like Hope Uzodimma, all the gladiators in Imo State should form a formidable political alliance, set aside their individual selfish interests, place the interest of the people above party and see it as a mass movement. Anything outside the above, they may end up in court to challenge his second term victory. But from all indications, the governor who has shown relative impressive outing lately can only be stopped from a possible re-election bid if Imo people should speak in one voice as they did in 2011.

Politics / Ogwuaga Abba Ezeship Tussle: The Stepped Down Staff Of Office And Matters Arisin by Njokuobinna(m): 10:55am On Feb 13, 2022
OGWUAGA ABBA EZESHIP TUSSLE: THE STEPPED DOWN STAFF OF OFFICE, THE LEGAL CHALLENGES AND MATTERS ARISING.

+ Njoku MacDonald Obinna

Owerri, Imo State.

There is no gainsaying that most conspicuous remote causes of social conflict in Igbo communities in recent times are traditional rulership , chieftaince title , land and boundary disputes, the outcast (Osu) syndrome, among others.

Judging from considerable empirical evidence rather than theory, pure logic, or guess work, the major causes of the Ezeship tussle in Igboland- South East, Nigeria, include; inter alia: the issue of weather the office of the Eze should be hereditary or rotatory, family ancestry, superiority or seniority syndrome , and the balkanization of communities into new kingdoms otherwise referred to as autonomous communities which gives recognition to the position of Ezeship in the new communities to sucession.

From the above backdrop, Ogwuaga Abba Autonomous Community in Nwangele- South Local Government Area, Imo State, had also had its share of community social conflict in her bid to produce a worthy successor or replacement of the late Monarch, His Royal Majesty, Eze (Justice) G.G.I. Ojiako (C.J. Rtd) KSM, CON, (Dim Ohamadike l of Ogwuaga Abba) of blessed memory (1932-2018).

Regrettably, the two illustrious sons of the community and respected Abba leaders jostling for the coveted vacant Ezeship stool of Dim Ohamadike ll of Ogwuaga Abba Autonomous Community, Nwangele LGA, are not kinsmen but biological brothers; a case of royal rumble between a younger brother, Chief Okezie Akwiwu and his elder brother, Nze Obinna Akwiwu (Oshimiri lll of Abba); who saw him through school and gave him the needed assistance overseas to be a complete man and successful in his life endeavours. Quiet appaling to note, the opposite of gratitude and respect for an elder brother was what the former reportedly brought back home as a 'thank you' while 'Umunnadi (kinsmen)', just like the devil that fishes in troubled waters, have continued to use both known and unknown background war tactics to polarise and divide the powerful Akwiwu Dynasty as they incite two brothers against each other in a socio-political nay ezeship tussle logjam.

Penultimate Friday, February 4, 2022, in what was supposed to be a day and date with destiny to the various Ezes-elect across Imo communities as they had earlier received official invitation from the Office of the Governor: Imo State Ministry of Culture and Chieftaince Affairs; having fulfilled all the requirements and gone through the necessary documentations which qualified them to be duly recognized and issued staff of office by Governor Hope Uzodimma as traditional rulers in their respective communities, Ogwuaga Abba inclusive.

From the official release and comprehensive list at the Imo State Registry, the name of Chief Obinna Akwiwu ( Oshimiri lll of Abba, Odokara Ome ll, Nwachinmere l, Nze Oshimiri Ukege); a respected community leader, elder statesman, opinion moulder, father figure to many, mentor, business mogul and apparent heir to the Akwiwu Dynasty was conspicuously captured and submitted to the Imo State Government as the duly recognized Eze-elect of Ogwuaga Abba Autonomous Community even as his name became a recurring decimal at the Excos Chamber, Government House, Owerri , while other Ezes-designate took notice of him with such harmless jealousy that pressumed they were in his stead and big shoes as a very longtime close friend of Governor Hope Uzodimma.

On that fateful Friday, Oshimiri lll of Abba, a very organized and polished British trained business man with the notoriety of keeping to time, was properly dressed in his blue royal regale with a midas touch of Ishiagu (lion head) attaire. A meeting that was supposed to start by 10 a.m had Chief Obinna Akwiwu already seated in the Imo State Government House, Excos chamber, by 8:45 a.m, 4thestatereporters gathered.

A star is never hidden at any function. The Ogwuaga Abba Eze-elect, His Royal Highness, Chief Obinna Akwiwu stood out among the galaxy of Ezes-elect and other top government functionaries in attendance. His face beamed with such candor and smile as he received cheers from people and also exchanged pleasantries with other traditional rulers present.

While waiting with patience and breathed air to be called upon by the governor for his staff of office as the traditional ruler- elect of Ogwuaga Abba Autonomous Community, his traducers and detractors who had made themselves available willing tools for evil machinations in the hands of a few powerful forces in the community were busy ploting on how to stop him by all costs, any foul means possible, both for mere pittance and on varying personal vendetta.

As an eye witness reporter accredited to cover the event, I listened very attentively; infact, with rapt attention to know when the name of the duly recognized Eze-elect of Ogwuaga Abba Autonomous Community, His Royal Highness, Nze Obinna Akwiwu (Oshimiri lll of Abba, Ohamadike ll of Ogwuaga Abba), would be called upon by Gov. Hope Uzodimma for his staff of office. Just like myself, a number of those who came in solidarity for Oshimiri Ukeje's enthronement were also curiously waiting for his name to be mentioned.

Unfortunately, such expectation was temporary cut short as his staff of office was stepped down by the Imo State Government for alleged ex parte application and stay of execution restraining the government from handing over the staff of office to Chief Obinna Akwiwu as the authentic and duly recognized Eze-elect of Ogwuaga Abba Autonomous Community where the petition of these devil's advocates subsists in court.

Regrettably, the sole aim of the mischief makers and hired political elements was simply to embarrass Nze Nwachinmere l of Abba and paint him in a very bad light: presumably that his community and the good people of Ogwuaga Abba did not want him , but rather prefer his younger brother, Chief Okezie Akwiwu, who had no interest in the Ezeship stool but was compelled by these mischievous kinsmen whose stock in trade is to divide successful families and incite the two brothers against each other.

While they might have won a temporary fight with their hatchet wicked plan of bringing him down, they stand to loose the main battle as Nze Obinna Akwiwu (Oshimiri lll of Abba)'s name is still intact in the Imo State Government's list as the duly recognized Eze-elect of Ogwuaga Abba even as the legal fireworks between him and his kid brother continues in court.

Aftermath of the Friday sponsored embarrassing outing at the Imo State Government House, Owerri, Nze Obinna Akwiwu, the recognized Eze-elect of Ogwuaga Abba Autonomous Community was nonetheless, given a resounding heroic 21 gunshots befitting his status as he was joyfully welcomed back home by already awaiting kinsmen at his Royal Palace. The naysayers and detractors covered their faces in shame as they questioned the efforntry with which the Eze-elect put up instead of being overtly demoralized. Calls were flying up and down to truly know wether he was given the staff of office or not!

Good a thing, the same ancestral grace which found him worthy as an apparent heir to the Akwiwu Dynasty is still speaking for him as Nze Obinna Akwiwu (Oshimiri lll of Abba, Dim Ohamadike ll of Ogwuaga Abba), the following day, received an invitation to attend the meeting of Imo State Council of Elders; a revered recognized Advisory Arm of the Imo State Government peopled majorly by traditional rulers, religious leaders, elder statesmen, former state governors, opinion moulders and thought leaders carefully selected by the state governor to advice him on the state of affairs of Imo and sundry issues bothering on governance. Oshimiri lll of Abba was physically present in his full regale and glory!

Nze Obinna Akwiwu, a respected community leader, elder statesman, business mogul and opinion moulder, is never detard by the ugly incident of previous Friday at the Imo State Government House, Owerri, as he has kept his head up while putting measures in place to resolve the seeming misunderstanding between him and his younger brother, Chief Okezie Akwiwu , which is largely caused by 'umunnadi ' or kinsmen 'who have continued to fan the ember for sustained legal war between the two brothers for selfish aggrandizement.

In dealing with people as a leader, you will often encounter particular problems that will tend to make you emotional and lock you into the hasty generalization that all human beings are the same , in general terms. Such problems include unexpected political battles, betrayal, superficial judgements of your character or personality, gang up and petty minded criticism of your leadership or even position. Nze Obinna Akwiwu , no doubt, has gone beyound the machinations of these cynics , naysayers and devil's advocates as he trudges on with the task ahead.

While Chief Okezie Akwiwu's faction of the Ogwuaga Abba Ezeship stool tussle truly proved a point by hatching the evil plot that temporary stepped down the issuance of a Staff of Office to the Eze-elect, His Royal Highness, Nze Obinna Akwiwu (Oshimiri lll of Abba, Dim Ohamadike ll of Ogwuaga Abba), it is not yet uhuru as the later has continued to enjoy the goodwill of his people and the best assurances of His Excellency, Governor Hope Uzodimma in his clarion call to serve Ogwuaga Abba Autonomous Community as her traditional ruler.

To this end, those who mean well for Ogwuaga Abba Autonomous Community , her peace, unity and progress should build a bridge by truly reconciling these two brothers and respected illustrious sons of the community rather than fishing in troubled waters like the proverbial devil.

Politics / Celebrating Ogbuagu Nkwerre At 38: His Business Exploits, Success Story. by Njokuobinna(m): 1:52pm On Feb 07, 2022
CELEBRATING OGBUAGU NKWERRE AT 38: HIS BUSINESS EXPLOITS, POLITICAL TRAJECTORY, SUCCESS STORY AND CLARION CALL FOR PUBLIC SERVICE.

+ Njoku MacDonald Obinna

Owerri, Imo State.

If you meticulously describe Nkwerre born business strategist, political scientist, lawyer , real estate developer, oil magnet and philanthropist, Chief Barr.Nze Franklin E. Iwunze (Ogbuagu Nkwerre), as a compelling study in grace, you will just be stating the obvious.

At a much younger age, he was destined to stand out among his contemporaries as he learnt the rudiments of community leadership from the late Nkwerre born business maverick and legend, Oke Nze John Anyaehie of blessed memory (Lord Mayor), deceased father of Barr. Nnamdi Anyaehie , Chief of Staff to the Imo State Government in the current Shared Prosperity Administration under His Excellency, Sen. Hope Uzodimma .

However, since it is rare to climb the leadership pyramid of Nigeria's political space without patiently learning the ropes, a predestined Nze Franklin Iwunze, was by act of providence adopted by former Enugu State governor, His Excellency, Chief Surlivan Chime as a son in a semantic complimentary relationship of a mentor and mentee, a political proteege and not necessarily a stooge as Ogbuagu Nkwerre had already started contributing towards community development while looking for an opportunity to learn practical leadership and participatory governance from higher authorities.

Of important note also, in this journey of grace, his sense of humility, unassuming composition, friendliness and orderliness at a watershed political event in Abuja, the federal capital territory of Nigeria, endeared him to the governor of Kaduna State, His Excellency, Ahmed Nasir El-rufai who has ever since then adopted the Nkwerre born ' Entrepreneur Of The Month' as a son and partner in progress for the development of the Centre of Knowledge as Kaduna State is known for.

Having patiently learnt from constituted authorities, today, no doubt, his life's path has been laced with more roses than thorns as Chief Barr. Franklin Iwunze has developed his leadership skills with the requisite mental strength and financial capacity to squarely handle the challenges that come his way; including the ones that shall be coming from the good people of Nkwerre LGA who are unanimously calling on the Umukalu Umukor Nkwerre born respected community leader to offer himself for public service as a reward for his dedicated selfless community service to Nkwerre LGA.

From a humble beginning, he has assiduously and tirelessly worked so hard to attain the enviable height he is today , having climbed the socio-economic and political leadership pyramid of his Nkwerre country home that all are celebrating today. Ogbuagu Nkwerre needs little or no introduction within the political and business circle of Nkwerre Opiaegbe.

His inspiring youthful leadership, political trajectory and business success story is as endearing as it is a huge motivation to the army of young graduates who aspire to cut their teeth either in politics or business.

Born into the family of late Linus Ezemuonye Iwunze and Esther Iwunze of Umukalu Umukor village in Nkwerre LGA, Imo State, Nze Franklin Iwunze had toed the path of business right from his school days as a Political Science undergraduate at the Enugu State University of Science and Technology. The resultant effect of this financial intelligence of doing business at a much younger age is the culmination and formation of the following business interests to his credit: Actiz Properties United Kingdom, GreenCollins Integrated (Oil Sector) and Actiz Fitness Centre Owerri (Sports).

By dint of hardwork, dedication, honesty and divine Providence, today, this man of means and many parts has built multi-billion Naira business interests with trusted partners in Europe and United Kingdom while providing job opportunities to hundreds of young graudates who work in his various business establishments to eke - out a living.

Chief Barr. Franklin Iwunze is a true definition of humility amid wealth; smart, handsome, sound, proactive, soft-speaking, cerebral, a careless giver and jolly good fellow. No doubt, not too many young men of his age and social class could keep their heads up with the level of international exposure , political contacts, business connections and strong goowill he enjoys among traditional rulers, religious leaders, the youths , market women and across party lines. Ogbuagu Nkwerre is a household name in Nkwerre and by extension, Isu, Nwangele and Njaba federal constituency.

Your traditional title of 'Ogbuaga Nkwerre' as conferred on you by all the Ist class Nze title holders in Nkwerre is a true reflection of your big and bouyant heart to always intervene in most challenging or diffcult situations to solve the problems for your people.

As a philanthropist with a functional conscience , you have tried to amplify this famed legacy of benevolence, generosity and charity as you make conscious efforts in putting smiles on the faces of the less privileged around you without a clap trap, paying school fees from secondary to territiary institutions for indigent but intelligent students, practically empowered the youths, donating to churches while generally giving back to the society.

As you celebrate this auspicious date of your birth, we pray God Almighty to add more beautiful colors and endearing stories to your fruitful years, longevity and more

Happy birthday,

Chief Barr. Franklin Iwunze

Politics / House Of Representatives Moves To Raise Jail Term To 20 Years by Njokuobinna(m): 9:49pm On Feb 02, 2022
HOUSE WATCH: hi OF REPRESENTATIVES MOVES TO RAISE JAIL TERM FOR BANK EMPLOYEES TO 20 YEARS OVER INSIDER FRAUD.

Employees in the banking sector, who engage in fraudulent activities, may face heavier punishment if a bill pending before the House of Representatives succeeds.

It is the "Bill for an Act to Amend the Bank Employees etc. (Declaration of Assets) Act, Cap. BI, Laws of the Federation of Nigeria, 2004; and for Related Matters."

It passed second reading in the plenary of the House in Abuja on Wednesday.

A key proposal in the piece of legislation is to raise the punishment for insider fraud by bank employees from 10 years to a 20-year term of imprisonment.

The sponsor, Rep. Francis Ejiroghene Waive, informed the House how fraudulent practices and other abuses in the banking sector had been on the increase in recent times.

He argued that the longer jail term would serve as a deterrent to employees planning to defraud customers or collude with others to achieve the same criminal aim.

The Speaker, Rep. Femi Gbajabiamila, who presided over proceedings, referred the bill to the Committee on Banking and Currency soon after it passed second reading.

The committee, in the next stage of the bill's journey, will call for a public hearing.

The committee will thereafter, report its collated views from the hearing to the House for further actions.

PRINCE CHIKWEM ONUOHA EULOGIZES HIGH CHIEF JOHNBOSCO OZIGBU, AS HE CELEBRATES ANOTHER FRUITFUL YEAR IN STYLE.

+ Njoku MacDonald Obinna

Owerri, Imo State.

Ahead of Monday, January 31 birthday celebration of a road construction giant, a former Deputy Chief of Staff, Imo State Government House; doyen of grassroots politics, youth-friendly respected community leader, real estate mugul, boardroom political strategist, United Kingdom trained sustainable leadership expert and Senatorial aspirant for Imo North Senatorial District in the 2020 Okigwe Bye-Election, Hon. Chief Chikwem Onuoha (Omeiheukwu), has sent out a heartwarming message to his close friend and political ally, High Chief Johnbosco Ozigbu, PhD (Ogwuaga of Ogwuaga) , on the occasion marking his birthday celebration.

In his birthday felicitations to the Ogwuaga Abba born road construction giant, philanthropist and academic of international repute, Johnbosco Ozigbu, PhD, Chief Chikwem Onuoha wrote a glowing message as captured by 4th Estate Reporters in the following words:

`` It is not every time that I pay special tribute to a silent achiever, a private person who, through his philanthropic gestures, business exploits and success story, has touched many lives very positively yet chosen the path of discipline and comportment.

Today, we play our own kind of special music as we roll the drums to celebrate God's faithfulness, super abundance, grace and protection; as a hardworking risk taker, a towering symbol of enterprise , an undisputed game changer , a major player in the oil and gas industry, road construction giant, business maverick and political emperor: a man who preaches human capital development and practices economic independence. One man, whose business philosophy is based on touching and affecting as many lives as possible. Ogwuaga of Ogwuaga, we celebrate you as you mark yet another year to your fruitful years on your walk through life.``

'' Birds of same feather, they say, pummet together" , Chief Chikwem Onuoha, a community builder, friend of the Church and powerful grassroots political mobilizer, no doubt, shares similar sterling leadership attributes with Chief Johnbosco Ozigbu,PhD, as the Umuaro ll Autonomous Community , Isiala Mbano LGA, born real estate magnet and politician, has empowered a number of youths in his immediate community and across the LGA; in skills acquisition, business start-ups and educational scholarships to indigent but intelligent students in various institutions of higher learning.

Recall that Prince Chikwem Onuoha was the only political leader in Okigwe zone whom out of his magnanimity and bouyant heart distributed food relief materials and cash donations to families and communities across the Senatorial District to caushion the hard economic effect of COVID-19 stay at home directives of both federal and state governments. In terms of proactive and participatory political leadership, he was dutifully among the political deciding factors in Okigwe zone that played strategic roles in the emergence of Sen. Frank Ibezim , who is now representing Imo North Senatorial District in the Nigerian Senate; including Princess Miriam Onuoha , who is representating Okigwe North (Isiala Mbano/Onuimo/Okigwe ) Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, as he collapsed his most formidable and sustained political structure, COCO, to throw his weight behind the two candidates at the instance of Gov. Hope Uzodimma against powerful vested interests in Okigwe zone.

Meanwhile, as the nation prepares for another general elections next year , this reporter gathered that a number of youth -support groups like; Okigwe Youth Progressive Forum, Okigwe North Youth Progressive Forum, Okigwe Youth Brethren, etc, may reinstate their avowed solidarity and support to the political aspirations of Prince Chikwem Onuoha, whom they said, understands the heartbeats of the youths and their language since he represents what every reasonable and rationale youth craves for in leadership.

The ball now lies in his court either to answer the clarion call or to stay behind and watch things continue to go wrong !

Politics / 2023: They Shall Start Picking Up Your Calls, Replying Messages And Even Return by Njokuobinna(m): 10:15pm On Jan 25, 2022
2023: SOON, THEY SHALL START PICKING UP YOUR CALLS, REPLYING MESSAGES AND EVEN RETURNING MISSED CALLS: THE IRONY OF NIGERIAN POLITICIANS DURING POLITICKING SEASON.

+ Njoku MacDonald Obinna

Owerri, Imo State.

One of the biggest challenges of political leadership in Nigeria by most elected and appointed functionaries of government is inaccessibility; not picking up their calls, not replying their mails and not returning missed calls of the people who voted them into office, their close and distant relations, former colleagues and old friends. This is understandably so due to the pressure associated with their job routines, daily itineraries, busy schedules and important state functions. Regrettably, a number of these callers with 'entitlement mentality' do not call to proffer solutions to existing problems, but to ask for money to offset their bills; children's school fees, hospital bills , house rents, wedding ceremonies, burials, contracts, etc.

The above socio-economic challenges posed by the masses to leadership notwithstanding, is no excuse for public office holders to main apathy from the outcry of the populace while sitting on their political high horse as the times are so hard. If practical and participatory governance is about the people, any reasonable, responsible, and responsive government functionary who wants to succeed must be able to create time and give some audience to the people they were elected or selected to serve.

Conversaly, we live in a country where estimated 90% of our public office holders , (President, Ministers, Ambassadors, State Governors, Senators, House of Reps. members, State Legislators, Council Chairmen, Commissioners, SAs, SSAs, members of government boards, etc, ) do not pick up their calls or return same until you coincidentally jam them at a function like Dangote trailer.
They think so highly of themselves and think less of the 'poor electorate' who took different degrees of risk to vote them into power.

From the above background, one can see that our small measure of success or impressive political trajectory has a way of elevating our ego and natural grandiosity to even more dangerous levels. Our high self -opinion of our goodness, greatness, brilliance, contacts and political exploits also have a way of making us diverge from the reality and appear rather starchy and arrogant. Little wonder, elected public office holders more often than not, cut off the important social ladder through which they climbed the exalted positions they now occupy. Forgetting the roles that luck and God-factor in politics may have played in their success , or the contributions of their ward executives, campaign DGs, ward leaders, LGA Apex leaders, stakeholders, support groups, traditional rulers , religious leaders and even 'the political thugs' who snatched ballot boxes for them during elections at the jeopardy of their lives; leaving their fate in the hands of security agents.

However, the good news remains that , there is always another day; a next -time. A day of reckoning. A day of payback. A season of venting one's anger on those leaders who kept the masses in the wilderness for good three years! A day of paying them back in their own coins those who reneged on the political pact or agreement entered with critical leaders and other stakeholders. A day when contractors will remain hell-bent on frustrating government's efforts for ongoing projects due to unnecessary bottlenecks and delay in mobilization.

Meanwhile, in a few weeks and months from now, ironically, our public office holders who have been moving about like demigods shall become ordinary people like you, completely accessible. You shall meet them and even call them by their ordinary names, especially, those who have not made remarkable imprints in leadership in the last two or three years. You shall meet them in churches, mosques , airports , train stations and even at public functions uninvited! If unfortunately, they didn't succeed in their second term bid and returned back to their private life without the luxury of moving about with a retinue of colorful entourage and security details. You can also choose to call those who have failed ' Horrible members instead of Honourale members ' like in the case of Adindu from Eziama, Isiala Mbano LGA.

In the end of their tenures, alot of old friends and political allies shall have deserted them. They will also be deserted by their aides, loyalists, political hangers-on; including Umunwa (side-chicks). Their phone numbers will no longer be as busy as they used to be. They will start returning calls and replying messages. Only a few politicians can cope without the euphoria of power. And that is why a number of them easily fall trap to stroke after leaving office.

At this point, the little shield they take from government is stripped off and they can be arrested so easily. Those whom they trapped upon their rights would come after them, those whose ancestral lands were forceully taken could challenge them in court as ordinary people, and can even arrest them. Instead of issue a directive, they can only beg, plead, appeal or negotiate. Only a few of them would apologize to their old friends for neglecting them while in office. They will watch their steps and economically spend wisely like 'ordinary Imo civil servants ' since they no longer have access to our collective patrimony, or continued benefits of government largesse since a new dawn has come with a new sheriff in town. Definitely and regrettably too, they may no longer be able to serve you exotic choice champagne and whisky again; Glenfiddich, Moet, Hennessy, Pero Fornasetti (1956), Donprinyon, etc. If you eventually visit them and after spending two hours, both of you shall be looking each other , anya ️️-anya! This is the reality of being out of power. Learn and guide yourself.

Nevertheless, when you see politicians do the unsual; make regular phone calls, regular visits, regular hangouts with the youths, always identifying with the poor masses, unsual respect to ordinary ward chairman or youth leader, reconciliation moves, etc, do not be deceived or carried away.

" For verily, verily, I say unto thee, for election season is nigh thy political doorstep."

Finally, if they called you on phone , especially, those who were not calling you in the last two or three years, do not busy their numbers or reject their calls: simply ask them: '' How far now?" in the words of my friend Nwadike Precious U Publisher of Nigerian Watchdog Newspapers.

Politics / House Of Reps, NBA, Strengthen Collaboration On Law Reform by Njokuobinna(m): 11:41pm On Jan 24, 2022
The Speaker of the House of Representatives Rep. Femi Gbajabiamila has underscored the importance of collaboration between public institutions and the private sector.

Gbajabiamila said partnerships between the public and private institutions are bound to promote good governance and sustainable development.

The speaker Gbajabiamila said this on Monday during the signing ceremony of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Office of the Speaker of the House of Representatives and the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) on law reform.

The leadership of NBA was led by its National President, Olumide Akpata.

According to Gbajabiamila, the collaboration between the two bodies since the inception of the 9th House has witnessed positive results in the passage of some critical laws in the country

He said: "This is basically the formalization of something that's already working. The signing of the MoU may seem symbolic, but I see it beyond that. I see it as a way of deepening our democracy and developing the country, which we all so passionately love.

"Contrary to what a lot of people think, I always believe that governance is about collaboration; it's about everybody. It's not about politicians alone, it's about everybody, so we've got to maximize our efforts and potential to bold, bigger and better things for this country.

"For me, this is a critical collaboration between two very important sectors. This is a public-private partnership between the Legislature and the NBA.

"I'm glad that law reform is a core mandate of the NBA, and for us too, law reform is part of our core mandate. When we repeal laws and amend laws, we are reforming laws. It's gratifying to know that we actually have a shared mandate, but what we do with that shared mandate is what will determine how far we can take this".

The speaker commended the leadership of the association and what it has been doing for the profession while emphasizing the commitment, speed and diligence with which it worked and collaborated with the House on Police and Electoral law reforms, among others.

"I don't think there's been a time that the Legislature and NBA have worked so seamlessly together towards making Nigeria a better place", he noted.

Earlier in his remarks, the NBA President, Akpata, appreciated the speaker and the House for being most accommodating with regards to collaboration and the potential of making progress together.

Saying that at the heart of the association's mandate is the pursuit of law reforms, Akpata noted that the NBA is desirous of working with the Legislature to bring to bear legislation for good governance while noting that law associations are part of the legislative process in some countries.

He added that the signing of the MoU was to remedy the past situation where the NBA seemed not to be keen on working with the Legislature.

He recalled the signing into law of the Police Service Commission law as a result of the collaboration between the House and NBA following the 2020 #Endsars protests, saying it showed what collaboration of this nature can achieve.

He informed and solicited the speaker's assistance about the Legal Practitioners' Bill that is before the two chambers of the National Assembly.

He also commended the speaker and the House for the office space given to the NBA within the National Assembly complex.

The Special Adviser to the Speaker on Policy and Strategy, Dubem Moghalu, had earlier explained that the MoU was to formalize the ongoing operation between the Office of the Speaker and the NBA particularly on the issue of law reforms.

RE- OPINION:

Well done for going this length on the backlash Emeka Ihedioha received or still receiving from, as you rightly put it, "sons of Sceva" in Hope Uzodinma's media team, for showing religious solidarity to a Muslim brother.

Honestly, MacDonald Njoku, I think you are not responsible for their own puerile assumptions on Emeka Ihedioha's faith. With this latest unfortunate gossip, it is obvious that jesters have taken over the governance of Imo State. Little wonder the state is without conspicuous direction.

No policy guidlines to economic and social development and growth. All we see and hear is propaganda from half-baked petty, malicious, mischievous, reprobate and debased elements masquerading as Hope Uzodinma's media men.

Imo State is worst for these sons of Sceva.

While the government of the state is struggling with legitimacy issue and acceptance from Imo people, they are busy doing media stunts of clownish proportion against Emeka Ihedioha or any body perceived opposition or enemy of Hope Uzodinma, instead of situating Hope Uzodinma's legitimacy issue within the perspective of public reconsideration through guiding the government in, if not yet empirical economic and social policy implementation for growth and development, then, academically, economic and social policy formulation to give Imo people a glimpse of hope that Hope should be reconsidered and given a chance to, at least, fail.

Their obsession with Emeka Ihedioha is disdainful and awfully a parameter to their jitters going into 2023 election. This fixation on Emeka Ihedioha by Hope Uzodinma and his media aides, playing opposition while being a ruling party, is so condescending and snacks of incompetence and mediocrity.

It is appalling that when Imo State is grappling with economic and social insecurity, all that the government of Hope Uzodinma can get busy with is talking about the religiosity and faith of an individual citizen, instead of conscientiously dealing with the circumstances of the state with administrative tact and people oriented policies.

OPINION:

His desperation for Imo government house, which now seems perverse, took him to that extent without first thinking of the implications or consequences. During the time of Okorocha both Ihedioha and his supporters were making jest of him for his friendship with the north. He was even called Okoroawusa and other names and Ihedioha never cautioned those doing that. He was accused of building a mosque at the government house. Today, because Ihedioha is desperate to have power, hobnobbing with the north or Muslim is no longer a taboo in Imo state. It's turn by turn and he should not cry. He should accept his fate.

RE- OPINION:

MacDonald dear, indubitably, you always pelt limpid comprehension into minds whenever you write. And indisputably, you explicate things to utter pellucid comprehension. I would not want to be misconstrued or miscomprehended for adulation, but the patent fact is that, you are without any modicum of dubiety, an unbeatable distinct writer. An intelligent journalist devoid of any scintilla of fanaticism and bigotry. I applaud you for being a writer swaddled by every probity, rectitude and hyper honesty. Truth remains the unshakeable guideline of true journalism that can direct and redirect people, without getting them hoodwinked into believing things that are nebulous to sane existence. Thus, getting them hauled into believing in the phantasmogorical and chimerical promises of our anthropophagous politicians. You are one out of many. Remain you dauntlessly in the track of journalistic veracity, so that the real truth and not the articles of egotism, egoism will be held and understood sturdily by both diaphonous and devious minds, to the glory of our immanent God. Politics / Uzodimma's Media Handlers Tackle Ihedioha Over Alleged Islamization by Njokuobinna(m): 7:49am On Jan 22, 2022
2023: UZODIMMA'S MEDIA HANDLERS TACKLE FORMER SACKED GOVERNOR, CHIEF EMEKA IHEDIOHA, OVER ALLEGED RELIGIOUS FRATERNITY WITH AMINU TAMBUWAL AND OTHER ISLAMIC CLERICS IN THE MOSQUE.

+ Njoku Macdonald Obinna

Owerri, Imo State.

I have read rather with some reservation the deluge of puerile, atavistic and mischievous misinterpretations, misrepresentations , twist of narrative, controversy, and the expected social hullabaloo by a number of uninformed paid media hirelings of the 3R Government about a most humbling, but trending online picture wherein the sacked Imo State governor and Mbutu -Mbaise born boardroom political strategist, Chief Emeka Ihedioha , was spotted praying at the Mosque with his friend and long time political ally; Sokoto State Governor, His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Aminu Waziri Tambuwal , for the repose of the soul of his elder, Muhammadu Bello.

At a trying time like this, in our corporate existence as a nation;where the nefarious activities of the Islamic Sect, Boko Haram, Fulani Herdsmen, etc, through their blind religious bigotry and intolerance have sprung up subsisting social-vices like; banditory, kidnapping for ransome and killings across the country. It is important to build and promote a healthy of concept of religious harmony so as to meet the challenges posed by religious diversity in a globalized world. On the basis of recognizing religious diversity and differences, all religions should enhance mutual understanding and empathy through dialogue, shoulder the common responsibility of upholding peace and justice through cooperation, and foster intra-and -inter- religious harmony and harmony between the religious community and the larger society. It's imperative also, to promote the principle of ''harmony without uniformity" , and to respect each other and jointly shoulder social responsibilities. The use of religion to cause division and other ill purposes should be opposed and religious extremism should be guarded against.

Unfortunately, 'the sons of Sceva' on the Imo media social space rather than channel their wasteful energy in convincing Imo people of the very need to support the Shared Prosperity Administration under Gov. Hope Uzodimma; of course, a people whose reservations about the government of the day is not only repulsive, and smacks of collective social apathy due to the corner-corner way of governance , they are busy delving into a religious or faith based issue where they have no strength to practically and academically get involved in.

I laughed in Swahili reading a shallow and empty press release by a faceless group where Chief Emeka Ihedioha was addressed as '#MallamEmekaIhedioha.' It is either done to catch a cruise, to impress the sponsors of this group without a known office address, or vilify the former sacked governor who is seriously warming up to return back to power ahead of the 2023|2024 Imo Governorship Election. With all the signs of growing support base titling towards him or any emerging governorship aspirants with reach, presence and acceptability. As casual opinion sampling among Imo people shows a pointer for growing call for a new government. The political tide could also turn around through undisputed record of improved performance in governance and infrastructural development.

Nevertheless, as at my last check, Chief Emeka Ihedioha, a Knight of St. Christopher in the Anglican Church Communion, is not an Iman and has not been turbaned by any Northern Emir or religious leader unlike Owelle Rochas Anayo Okorocha , who was turbaned by the Daura Emirate Council as The Magan Alheri Hausa (The Great Giver to Hausa people), while his son in-law, Ugwumba Uche Nwosu was turbaned by the Emir of Dass in Bauchi State as The Dan Zaki Dass (Prince of Dass). The confernment of such title on Uche Nwosu as a Prince in a foreign land, to me, was not only ironical but a waste of Imo State resources as he received the honour during his glorious days as Chief of Staff to the Imo State Government.

While I don't hold brief for the sacked Imo governor, Chief Emeka Ihedioha, who is known for his unforgiving spirit, clannish politics and vendetta against sworn political enemies , it sounds rather too petty an opinion for the media supporters of Sen. Hope Uzodimma to disturb our peace with their lopsided line of arguments that the 'Green Cap political maverick' is so desperate and could go to any length to pleadge loyalty to be returned back to power. They have also alleged that Emeka Ihedioha is the real traitor that could sell Imo State out to the Northern Caliphate for power. These end time media messengers of the 3R Government, inorder to give their point some validation, propped up one of the pictures wherein Chief Emeka Ihedioha was also on his knees in what appeared like a genuflection before the Muslim leaders in attendance at the Jumat prayer session with Gov. Aminu Waziri Tambuwal Bello. Placing side by side in comparison the pictures where Gov. Hope Uzodimma was either praying in the church, or receiving papal blessings from the Catholic Archdiocese of Owerri, Arch Bishop AJV Obinna , with the one where 'Mallam Emeka Ihedioha' was squatting on a mat in the Mosque during a masjid supplication. To them, that is the definition of political desperation.

And I ask: " Who among Nigerian politicans is not as ambitious as desperate ?" For a man who came a distant 4th position to have thrown caution to the wind and jumped on to the 1st position with the assistance of the Supreme Court, what better way can one describe desperation in politics and power tussle other than the 'Ben Johnson Way' in which he ascended the throne.

However, what these hired media handlers have failed to understand is that being a Knight of either Anglican Church or Catholic Church doesn't give one direct ticket to heaven, but righteousness does. Emeka Ihedioha is neither a pastor nor a traditional ruler, but a typical Nigerian politician who could use any strategy to gain supports across all social-political divides. And as a politician, he may have even gone to more dreadful places like Okija Shrine or Ogwugwu shrine in the course of political consultations. He is also at liberty to do so since he is not called to the pulpit to preach the gospel. Ihedioha is no Saint. And no known or unknown Nigerian politician is. Ours is a dirty murky political waters as one must pass through many bridges to fetch from the deep sea.

Religion is a very strong belif system. As a Christian or Moslem, if your conscience allowed you to freely join a friend or associate to worship in their Church or Mosque on a personal invitation, although during a special occasion, there is absolutely nothing wrong with that. It becomes a profanity of one's faith when one denounces God for personal mundane gains or under a threat of Islamization or religious apostasy because of the coming reign of the Anti-christ .

Emeka Ihedioha did no wrong by identifying with a very close political ally turned brother during his time of trial despite the choice of location; as true friendship knows no tribe, no language, no religion, no culture or political differences.

Politics / Chief Willie Amadi's Open Letter To Gov. Hope Uzodimma:A S That All Is Not Well. by Njokuobinna(m): 8:18pm On Jan 18, 2022
CHIEF WILLIE AMADI'S OPEN LETTER TO GOV. HOPE UZODIMMA: AN OMINIOUS SIGN THAT ALL IS NOT WELL!

+ Njoku MacDonald Obinna

Owerri, Imo State.

History is replete with examples of men of great courage, who in their time, changed the narrative. Their steadfastness, consistency and frank commitment to a cause or struggle was quiet remarkable. They were neither intimidated by the fear of political incarceration nor threatened by the possibility of being killed in the course of discharging their social responsibility, or the public trust bestowed upon them. No wonder, posterity counted them worthy as heroes of substance - for their fearlessness and courage.

Chief Barr. Willie Amadi , a Paul Harris Fellow of Rotary International , pioneer General Manager, Imo State Environmental Transformation Commission (ENTRACO), former Federal Commissioner, Public Complaints Commission, Imo State, politician and thought leader. Currently, the Chief Technical Adviser to Governor Hope Uzodimma on Environment, needs little or no introduction in the political leadership discuss of Imo State.

His first known political outing as pioneer Chairman of Imo ENTRANCO brought him to limelight having distinguished himself and discharged his official duties creditbly well with such unmatchable courage, uncommon candour, and unparalleled result- driven disposition in his avowed efforts to sensitize Imo people about the 'Clean ☘️ and☘️ Green Environmental Policy of the Ikedi Ohakim Administration'; putting Imo State on the map of global recognition as the cleanest and safest state in Nigeria. The record, arguably, is yet to be broken by successive governments in Imo State.

I am of the candid opinion that, to such a once cerebral, performer and reformer, the least he could get from any responsive government is recognition and being carried along as a critical stakeholder in the state. Because Nda Willie (Ukwa Achiaka) is not a pushover; not a man anyone could bottle up without a fight.

As I carefully read through Chief Barr. Willie Amadi's open letter to His Excellency, Governor Hope Uzodimma, on Friday, January 14th, 2022, titled: " My Advice To Distinguished Sen. Hope Uzodimma On His Second Year Anniversary In Office."

I picked up interest on the second point in his letter, as Chief Willie Amadi posited thus:

" Continue to apply and dispense the people's money with the fear of God for the overall benefit and good of Imo people ."

While I saw some courage, patriotism and concern in the said letter, most of the government functionaries, especially, close political allies of Sen. Hope Uzodimma might have seen it from a different perspective, not because they are paranoid or not bold enough to air such opinions or reservations in the public space but rather, as government functionaries who sworn oath of affidavit to be loyal and also protect the image of the government and its secrecies at all times - writing such open letter which Chief Willie Amadi 'personally' circulated online and went a bit further to publish same in a select Imo State based newspapers, is an ominous sign that something is fishing somewhere; as keen observers of Governor Hope Uzodimma's elitist style of leadership see Willie Amadi as ' rushing in a place where angels fear to thread.'

Our governor is an emperor and as such, may not be comfortable with the audacity and effontry in which his appointee of less than four months gave him an advice in the public space. Not too many state governors would also condone that. To Nigerian state governors and other politicians : Roberts Greeene's First Law of Power - 'Never Outshine The Master', is sacrosanct. But who knows how many times our governor may have ignored Chief Willie Amadi's calls and private mails without a response? Which I think, may have precipitated such open letter. Nda Willie threw caution to the wind and spoke his mind as a concerned Imo son.

However, having dispassionately read that letter with rapt attention, sense of critical thinking, and analytical mind, I know the letter must have raised some dust in government Quaters adding to the ' Political Harmattan Season' the Shared Prosperity Administration is already going through in the hands of the organised opposition in the state. A season of media bashings, social black sooth and political fumigation which the governor is working so hard to douse the tension through performance as to prove the naysayers wrong.

While Willie Amadi's open letter to Gov. Hope Uzodimma didn't sequarely chastise his person, his government, its programmes and officials, unlike the one written by Chief Olusegun Obasanjo to former President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, and President Muhammadu Buhari; which provoked thoughts and raised the bar for social awareness and political consciousness in Nigeria. I simply saw a man (Willie Amadi) who needed the attention of his principal (Gov. Hope Uzodimma) to discuss pertinent state issues including personal matters, but got none. And decided to go public to get such attention!

Regrettably, Imo State has one of the most inaccessible governors in Nigeria. A State Governor who is not reachable by the people at the grassroots, not reachable by elected members of the Imo State House of Assembly except when he wants to apply for fresh loans or during the seamless presentation of his Annual Appropriation Budget without defense. A man who is also not reachable on phone, through text messages and even private mails of his commissioners, SAs and SSAs: cannot be said to run a people- friendly government; as he carries himself in such manner that nobody contributed to his emergence.

Therefore, they should consider it a privilege to work with him and not a right. Our governor, is a large political warlord who feels more at home in Abuja than in Imo, thus, giving room to a number of the expensive mistakes made by his appointees since the man at the helm of affairs is not always around to listen to their complaints based on feedbacks , share ideas with them and even feel their expressed concerns over some issues raised by respected critical Imo stakeholders including strong voices from the organised opposition.

Can the likes of Hon. Uche Ogbuagu(Ikeduru Constituency), Hon. Obinna Okwara (Nkwerre Constituency), Hon. Arthur Egwim (Ideato North Constituency), Hon. Ekene Nnodumele (Orsu Constituency), Hon. Ngozi Obiefula (Isu Constituency) and other lawmakers, say to have set set their eyes on Onwa Onyoko in the last one year or thereabout, even as elected state legislators under the same political party; APC? This style of governance, in all honesty , doesn't speak well about the governor who is now seen as 'Abuja based governor.' Must one have to ambush His Excellency at a church function before getting an audience from him?

While one must completely agree that elected state governors, just like the president, are extremely busy people given their daily itinerary and tight schedules. But if governance is about the people, any reasonable, responsible and responsive state governor must as a matter of public good make out some time for the people who elected him to govern them. Owelle Rochas Anayo Okorocha is very outstanding for this. Little wonder, he is ever green in the minds of Imo people despite his political ordeal in the hands of his successors; Chief Emeka Ihedioha (May 29, 2019 -January 14, 200) and Sen. Hope Uzodimma (January 15, 2019 till date ).

Ironically, Governor Hope Uzodimma is not only inaccessible to Imo people, who have ever since maintained their social apathy from his government, but also to his long standing friends, commissioners, SSAs, SAs, members of government boards including elected state legislators. Unfortunately, any of them he so wishes to see whenever he is in a right frame of mind; as the security challenge in the state always puts him in both emotive, reactive, and reflective mood, would have to exercise some patience as long as 14 good hours before seeing 'the Demigod in Government House.'

Funny enough, alot of political leaders in Imo State at one point or the other had gone through this ugly experience. Chief Willie Amadi and Chief Toney Gray are no exceptions. As His Excellency has been accused by the political pundits, conservatives and close observers of his style of politics of having way with dragging people out of their political camps or political parties , and later abandon them after giving them false assurances or high hopes. Babatunde Charles Ezekwem, former Imo PDP Chairman, can tell better.

Conclusively, with this exposition of a piece, alot of discerning and critical minds in Imo State will dissect and understand better what might have prompted Chief Willie Amadi's open letter to His Excellency, Governor Hope Uzodimma: as Ukwa Achiaka acted in the manner of a Yoruba proverb that says: '' If a big masquerade claims it doesn't see the smaller masquerade, the smaller masquerade will also claim it doesn't see the big masquerade." Elegam face, in our Igbo local parlance.

For a man, who, despite his human frailty, still has the notoriety and grace of hosting Imo State Governors, Senators, Ministers, Foreign Diplomats, Ambassadors , including high profile politicians and top- notch socialites; at his Ajuzogu Civic Center, Owerri. Being ignored or sidelined by a Governor whom he sees as a partner in progress in his committed efforts toward sustaining a number of his laudable policies in the Shared Prosperity Administration, is not only embarrassing but a clandestine call to make him reconsider working with the 3R Government, especially, as most of his former political allies in the Peoples Democratic Party , PDP, through the background social -engineering of Sen Samuel Nnaemeka Anyanwu (Sam Daddy), are gradually returning back to their 'first love' where they are completely celebrated!

With Chief Willie Amadi's open letter to Governor Hope Uzodimma, a landmine has been set!
