Hi all. I am not sure if this question has already been asked. Regarding the frsc letter, who is the letter supposed to be addressed to? |
nadina:Yes, this helps. I didn't know that day homes could also help with school pick up. Thanks. This makes it easier to decide. |
Hello everyone. I am landing in Calgary around end of May. Currently doing research on schools for kids especially after school care. I know there are proper out of school care centres then there are day homes. Can anyone advise on the advantages of each? What do working parents do with their kids after school is done for the day? |
Blackbuddy:Thank you Blackbuddy and Congo2. |
Hello everyone. I would appreciate if someone could give me some clarity on this I read that rent must start from the 1st of the month in Canada. Such that if you find a house you like on the 21st of April for example, you can't move in till 1st of May. Is this true? Can someone pls throw more light on this? Thank you. |
Zutlin:I found this link on australian home office website https://www.homeaffairs.gov.au/about/contact/offices-locations/angola It states that angola pcc can only be issued to residents. But I.will go ahead and contact someone im Angola and try again.
|
CanadaPR:That would be great if I can confirm he was also a commuter and had a work permit or regular visitor visa and was still able to get PCC However, won't getting one just negate the whole process and make us and the HR mgr liars. |
Zutlin:We never lived in Angola. My husband would go for just 3 weeks to a month and return to Nigeria to stay for like a month. He had like a work permit. Sometimes a regular visa. Since you lived in Angola, maybe you had a temporary resident visa and you were able.to get the PCC. Please correct me if I am wrong. If you were a commuter too or you had a regular visa you had to renew every 6 months or yearly, please let me so I can know it's indeed possible to get for our class of visa |
Hello guys. Semi silent member here. I need advice on an issue. Long post ahead! My husband worked in Angola a few years ago as a commuter ( 1 month in and 1 month out) but left the company and has been in Nigeria. We tried to get Angola PCC for our PR application. We called the Angolan embassy in Nigeria and asked if they issue. We were told they do not and we should go to Angola. My husband's visa had expired and it wad tied to his company. Getting Angola visa is really difficult. We contacted some people still in Angola and they couldn’t help. So we asked my husband’s former office in Angola to assist us to get the PCC. The HR Mgr (an Angolan Lady) replied that the govt doesn’t give PCC to people who have work permits. They only give to people who have temporary resident permits or permanent residency permits. Then the hr manager offered to write a letter vouching for him that he was of good conduct during the time he was in Angola and they had full responsibility for him. We attached this letter, the emails with the hr mgr explaining how and why she couldn’t get PCC for us and a letter of explanation. We also know a permanent resident in Canada had used this same format with a letter of good conduct from her and his PR was approved. Anyway, when I ordered the 1st gcms notes, we noticed that our PCC was referred to an agent for “best efforts review” which we passed and then passed R10. I just got another set of gcms notes now and I saw an officer’s note that said “checking with Nairobi about Angolan PCC availability” What’s scaring me is the fact that I know some people who got the PCC through.means I won't state here incase CIC is reading. So I know for a fact that some.people have this PCC. And I don't trust the Angola. Government. They are like Nigeria. Not straightforward. I don’t know what to do now. My AOR is Nov 24th and I believe this is what is the cause of my delays. I need advise on how I can make my case strong or whatever. All inputs are welcome. Thanks. |
prideandjoy:Hey. I sent you a PM too |
Elfmannisback:I don't understand this statement. Did you make a typographical error? Are you trying to ensure Nigeria is banned from express entry? What does "not bad" mean?! Someone drove a van on a pedestrian lane in Toronto and killed 10 persons and you write " not bad" Please delete this. |
Newmum0615:You are very welcome to the family. You need to join the WhatsApp group. |
sistaj:Hey there. Use just one NOC and try to stick to 0112. I believe that a 70%Noc and JD match is fine. If you can't get ref letter, then use employment letter of it has your JD. Also payslips or bank statements. Also try to get a notarised letter from a colleague. You can attach a 6 months statement as you described Don't forget your letter of explanation. |
olajide21:It states "your application is in progress. We will send you a message when we start your background check" |
Hello guys. 1) I sent an email to CIC and I was told I am in London visa office. I believe there is a London WhatsApp group? Please is there a WhatsApp link to join? 2) My background check is still on IP1. Since 8th December. The only change to my profile was when "additional documents are being reviewed" changed to "we do not need additional documents". But still IP1. I am just happy that I decided to check if I was moved to a visa office. My question- shouldn't I be on NA2? |
optionese:Thanks |
I have been at IP1 for over a month now and It's a little frustrating. I do realise that there's no yardstick to follow as people have different processing speeds. I can only categorically say that it won't exceed 6 months. At the same time, I am still a bit worried and hoping that I do not have any issues with any submitted docs. But guys, when is it a good time to get actually worried and try to either call, find out visa office or request for gcms notes? |
phf2be:I don't think this affects people who are post ITA/ gotten AOR. Those funds are already locked in based on previous proof of funds. This mostly applies to pre ITA. |
Popsumfin:Hello. You mentioned you were in IP1 for a month. But you are now in NA2. Did you still order for the gcms notes? How is your application going now |
Abbylee:From what I have seen, most people order gmcs notes. That seems to trigger a response from cic to work on the application. Also maybe calling them and try to speak to an agent? I have no first hand knowledge of this. So if there ard others with a better idea.... |
emelueobi:Yes you can. Just give her a letter of authorisation with the copy of the bio data page of your international passport. She needs to also go with her own intl passport or maybe drivers license |
czaratwork:This has my name written all over it. These people should give me PPR ooo |
Hello everyone. For those who have kids, how did they adapt to the school system? It's a different curriculum, friends, way of teaching etc. My kids are 7 and 4 and I am a little worried. I feel I need to prep them somehow. I would also like to know about private schools/catholic schools and public schools. I know the canadian school system is generally good. But considering the Nigerian system we come from, are the private or catholic schools better than public in terms of education, morality, discipline etc? Also, if you live in Calgary, what are the good elementary schools either private, public or catholic that you can recommend. I looked at the Simon Fraser ranking but it's not very clear. If you have anything else to add, I would appreciate. |
peaceful22:From start to finish took about 14 weeks Application AOR: 4 weeks Transcript AOR: 4 weeks ECA: 6 weeks FYI: could be longer. Heard its longer now |
Saintp:Hello. Kingoliza halls is in Trans Amadi, Peter odili road axis. You can stay at any of the hotels in Trans Amadi. Check hotels.ng and look for hotels in Trans Amadi that are within your price range and close to or in Peter Odili area. Like Somitel Hotel. You can take a taxi from the hotel to the venue. Most taxis know it. Just tell them Kingoliza hall close to Aeroplane drive. |
Hello all. Please for the ita application form, the statutory questions part... If you had a visa refusal in the past, do you answer yes to both questions? We answered yes to only one..the lower one. Now we are wondering if we should say yes to both. |
I think it's not just about working on the Canadian accent. Nigerians generally do not speak proper english. We pronounce "ask" as "axe" and "thing" as "tin". We say "on the tv" instead of "switch on the tv" and so many other mistakes. I work with expats and in all my travel, I have never had a problem being understood, neither did I have to acquire an accent. Afterall, they won't ask someone with a german, french or spanish accent to acquire a Canadian accent. If we speak clearly and pronouce our words properly, they won't have an issue understanding us. The accent will come eventually while interacting with them daily. But for now, let's try to pronounce "th" and "sk" etc, work on the "h" factor and use the correct tenses and words. |
Hephgirl:Mine got there July 27th. I called yesterday and I was told it would be mailed out on Friday. I also confirmed that they are now processing August. |
db23:I didn't know this was possible for all the accounts. And I bank with Gtb and I am plan to use my current, savings and USD too. Pls could you be so kind and write a draft of your letter. omitting all personal details. Please |
