https://i1.wp.com/nyscinfo.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/05/PSX_20190505_135513.jpg There are indications that the Boko Haram insurgents have demanded ransom before releasing members of the Living Faith Church (Winners Chapel) they kidnapped two weeks ago. Gunmen suspected to be members of the Boko Haram had kidnapped a member of the National Youth Service Corps, Abraham Amuta and three other members of the church on their way to Chibok to distribute relief items to internally displaced persons and evangelise. Amuta’s housemate, Success Ezeanya, whose tweet about the abduction went viral on Saturday, told newsmen on Monday that he was told by a member of the church that the insurgents had demanded N200m before they could release those they kidnapped. Although a source in Maiduguri said Boko Haram demanded N100m ransom, Ezeanya said that the family of the abducted corps member was communicating with the church. Ezeanya stated, “I haven’t heard anything from AB’s family members. I think they are communicating directly with the church, so I have not heard anything directly from them. I know he is the only son; I don’t know if he is the only child. According to one of the church members, Boko Haram asked for a ransom of N200m.” It was learnt that Amuta served as a vigilante. Amuta’s colleague, Ezeanya told newsmen that the abducted NYSC member had gained experience combating crime as a member of a vigilante group in Jos, Plateau State. He had tweeted, “Abraham Amuta is a corps member serving in Maiduguri. He was abducted by Boko Haram two weeks ago. He went for evangelism with a pastor from his church – Living Faith. He is an only son. Let’s not forget him in our prayers. “He is a Batch B, stream 1 corps member serving in Maiduguri, Borno State. It’s been over two weeks now since he went missing in Maiduguri. Some people claiming to be Boko Haram have called and claimed to have abducted him. Please retweet until the Federal Government sees this.” Speaking with one of our correspondents on Monday, Ezeanya described the abducted NYSC member as audacious. He said, “We were just lodge-mates. I think he is 27 or 28 years old. He has a barber’s in the lodge where we go to cut our hair. I was in Batch A but I’ve passed out, although I’m still in Borno still searching for a job as a Mass Communication graduate. “AB, however, is in Batch B. I would always interact with him whenever I would go to cut my hair at his place. AB is a very strong guy; the guy has guts. The kind of things he says, he’s a different kind of person. “He would always talk about his experience as a security agent in Jos (Plateau State) and how he is ready to go to Sambisa Forest whenever the opportunity comes because he has got security experience. He said during the crises in Jos, a vigilante group was set up there and he was part of the group. He is a tough guy.” Ezeanya stated that he had known Amuta since August 2018, adding that other housemates shared his sentiment about the abducted corps member’s courage. He condemned the comments on social media ridiculing Amuta for his decision to evangelise and distribute materials in Chibok. “That shouldn’t be the discussion now. The most important thing is how to have him released, not how he went there. When he comes back, we can begin to query him, saying, ‘Why did you go there?’ But the most important thing we should concern ourselves with now is getting him out. “Nigerians always find a way of expressing themselves to the fullest, no matter the circumstance. Sometimes, you have to use diplomacy to address things like that. I am surprised that up till now, I have not heard any statement from the Nigeria Police, the Army or the Federal Government.” When contacted on the telephone, the Pastor of Living Faith Ministries in Borno State, Victor Samaila, declined to speak on the incident. Please, disregard rumours spreading across social media/blogs since yesterday that President Muhammadu Buhari has signed the National Minimum Wage bill of N30,000 into law. The National Assembly just sent the bill to Buhari as reported by Vanguard News here- https://www.vanguardngr.com/2019/03/nass-sends-n30000-minimum-wage-bill-to-buhari-for-assent/ Source- https://www.otondo.com.ng/2019/03/breaking-president-buhari-has-not.html

The struggle for a N30,000 minimum wage for the least paid workers in Nigeria by organised labour appears to be nearing a joyous end as the National Assembly has transmitted a clean copy of the passed bill by the National Assembly to President Muhammadu Buhari for assent. This came as Medical and Health Workers’ Union of Nigeria, MHWUN, has advised Buhari to look beyond medical doctors and appoint technocrats in health administration as Ministers of Health in his second tenure. President of Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC, Ayuba Wabba, who disclosed the transmitting of minimum wage bill to Buhari, yesterday, at the opening ceremony of the 10th National Delegates Conference of MHWUN, informed that it was sent to Buhari on Wednesday. According to him, “I am aware that the minimum wage bill has been passed and a clean copy has been transmitted to the President on Wednesday and we are expecting the President to assent to it. “I am sure our workers will benefit from it. It is important, I say from the point of fact, that it is long overdue. It is not only long overdue, what is even N30,000 in the Nigerian economy? “Therefore, everybody must agree that workers have been patient, workers have demonstrated enough commitment and therefore, I think, implementation at various levels should actually go seamlessly.” “We are also looking at the implementation, and I assure you in our normal way, we will continue to support our states from one state to the other until everything and everybody is able to benefit from it. This is because the truth of it is that if you look at the rate of inflation is even higher than the minimum wage that has been increased. The reality of it is that it is just to keep body and soul together but actually to address the fact that we want a living wage.” The NLC also faulted the federal government plans to reduce the salary of certain categories of public workers, insisting that it was the bogus pay package of the political class that should be reduced. Earlier, while welcoming delegated, he advised President Buhari to look beyond medical doctors and appoint technocrats in health administration as Ministers of Health in his second tenure. According to the union, the President’s doing so would reduce the friction between doctors and other professionals in the health sector and also ensure only unbiased advice on the way forward for the country’s deplorable health system is given the government. https://i2.wp.com/www.vanguardngr.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/03/Ifeanyi-Ubah.png Awka —A Federal High Court sitting in Awka, has ordered the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, to investigate the Senator-elect for Anambra South senatorial district, Ifeanyi Ubah, and the returning officer, Prof M.N Umenweke over criminal allegations leveled against them in the February 23, 2019 National Assembly election in the district. The action followed an application for an order of mandamus sought from the court by the senatorial candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in the district, Chris Ubah. Ubah had in suit number FHC/AWK/CS/29/2019, urged the court to compel INEC, which is the 1st respondent in the suit, to undertake the prosecution of the returning officer and the Senator–elect, Ubah, who was declared winner on the platform of Young Progressives Party, YPP. The presiding judge, Justice I.B Gafai, who handed the order, directed INEC to conduct investigation into the matter for the purpose of prosecuting the respondents within 14 days. The order read: “Upon the honourable court having delivered a considered judgment today, it hereby ordered as follows: The 1st Respondent (INEC) shall within 14 days from today conduct or cause investigation into the criminal allegations of the applicant (Chris Uba) “Prosecute, if the investigation result so warrants, the 3rd respondent (Ifeanyi Uba) and any other person(s) implicated in its investigation. “Where it considers it inexpedient to prosecute through its legal officers, consider at its liberty, the appointment of the applicant’s solicitors in this suit for the purpose of such prosecution.” Source- https://www.vanguardngr.com/2019/03/senate-poll-court-orders-inec-to-investigate-ifeanyi-ubah-returning-officer/ |
Gboyega Oyetola, Governor of Osun State, has insisted that he remains Governor of the state until all legal issues surrounding his election are sorted out. He said this in response to a judgment by the Osun Elections Petitions Tribunal, which declared Ademola Adeleke of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governor-elect of the state. The tribunal had nullified the rerun election held in the state, which had seen Oyetola of the All Progressives Congress (APC) emerge winner of the election. However, at an inspection of ongoing road and drainage projects in Osogbo, the Osun State capital, on Saturday, Oyetola urged the people of the state to go about their normal activities. His words: “I am confident that our mandate will be reaffirmed at the Court of Appeal and the Supreme Court. As you all know, it was a split judgment, telling us that it was not a unanimous decision. This is part of our strength at the Appellate Court. “I must correct the impression that I have been removed from office. I remain the Governor of Osun till all the electoral litigations are finalised. “So, my visit to this site is in furtherance of our commitment to ensure a better life for all residents of the state and to demonstrate that governance brought about by our government continues." In a state broadcast on Saturday as well, Oyetola said: "I address you this day to inform you that, in response to the judgment of the Osun Governorship Election Tribunal, sitting at the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, on Friday, we have gone on appeal to challenge the split decision of the Tribunal. “This split decision notwithstanding, our confidence in the judiciary remains unshaken, which is why we are going back to it for necessary review through the appellate court. “In accordance with the dictates of law, our government remains intact pending the decision of the higher courts. The status quo remains, and the business of governance continues under my watch. “I have directed all law enforcement agencies as a matter of duty to continue to maintain law and order across the state. “I would, therefore, appeal to you all to remain calm and go about your legitimate businesses, while we explore the instruments of the law to reaffirm the mandate that you freely gave to us. “I thank you for your support all the way and urge you to remain faithful to the kernels that have made our state the land of virtue.” Source- http://saharareporters.com/2019/03/24/i-remain-governor-osun-says-oyetola

The development has further delayed the passage of the bill, which has already been approved by the lower chamber of the National Assembly before the elections. How to last longer in bed and be free from premature ejaculation. Premature ejaculation is a problem that affects almost every man at some point in his life, where he is struggling to cure the shame of lasting in bed for just one to two minutes, which is a major headache for him. An average sex session should last from 5 to 7 minutes, in the absence of pre-intimacy. The session starts immediately the penis is inserted inside the vagina as penetration and thrusting commences. Amazing sex should last from 15 to 30 minutes without getting to reach orgasm. A woman that has a 2 minutes man will not be happy and tends to lose the respect she has for him, the love too might be lost, because she is not getting satisfied the way she wants. The reason most men should learn on how to last longer in bed is because, a woman hardly gets satisfied in just 2 minutes, a woman is always ready to have sex, because their orgasm is quite different from a man’s own. Where the man gets to ejaculate and get weak instantly, a woman can orgasm and is ready to continue in the next 30 seconds. GET THE COMPLETE GUIDE ON HOW TO LAST LONGER IN BED. A clear majority of German MPs have voted to legalise same-sex marriage, days after Chancellor Angela Merkel dropped her opposition to a vote. The reform grants couples now limited to civil unions full marital rights, and allows them to adopt children. Mrs Merkel's political opponents were strongly in favour. But the chancellor, who signalled her backing for a free vote only on Monday, voted against. The bill was backed by 393 lawmakers, 226 voted against and four abstained. The German legal code will now read: "Marriage is entered into for life by two people of different or the same sex", AFP news agency reported. Following Friday's vote, Mrs Merkel said that for her marriage was between a man and a woman. But she said she hoped the passing of the bill would lead to more "social cohesion and peace".
