How did you achieve the UV painting?

It's quite easy, I got the texture online then UV unwrapped the meshes then went into node editor and used image texture and principled shader, and added some hue and saturation then I increased the mapping scale to 4.

Am using blender btw

I am sure that you don't have a password reset disk. So this is what you'll do buy a windows installation disc any version of your choice, it shouldn't be more than 500 Naira. Then boot from disc you do this by pressing F9 key when your computer turns on or hit esc key then go to boot menu and place boot from DVD on top and save. If done correctly the windows disc should load then follow the instructions

I have the same problem oh, only that mine just trips off and turns on immediately

I have a problem with my laptop, anytime am using my system, after 30 minutes it just trips off and turns it self on, sometimes at night or any time am not using it it turns it self on automatically, this constant problem has led to several crashing of my windows. My brain is telling me that it might be a power issue

Please what can be done

Sorry this is coming late, I don't know if you've fixed it. But if you haven't there are two options.

First go to advanced options and choose the place where they wrote to restore your computer to an earlier restore point then follow the instructions.

If that doesn't work then you need to get a windows installation disc and install it through BIOS. To do this you have to switch off your laptop after inserting the disc then on it and go to boot menu usually F9 for most laptops then it'll boot from the disc. Then follow the instructions

There are quite a few places that require the services of a 3d modeller. Some might also require a good knowledge of 2d design though

1) Branding agency - I personally worked 5years at an agency creating 3d visualizations for planned events, exhibition stands and product designs. There are quite a few agencies looking for graphics artists with 3d skills from time to time.

2) Architecture and interior design firms- creating 3d visualizations of architectural plans and interior design. I know a guy that worked creating 3d models of only furniture for an interior design shop. I don't see job offers from arch firms as often though.

3) TV/video production - that will require creating motion graphics for TV stations and video production houses. Might also require knowledge of 2d video editing softwares like premiere and after effects.

4) Freelancing on freelance sites as someone already mentioned, which is what I'm currently doing.


5) Film/3d animation/video games - this would have been the most ideal for most 3d artists here, but unfortunately, there's no budding industry presently for 3d artists in Nigeria.

The film industry is the most mature in Nigeria, but I don't see the use of 3d that much.

Video games industry, non existent.

3d animation/movies - there are a few studios out there, but I don't think they employ 3d artists very often if at all. This again shows a lack of growth in that field.

Perhaps we can delve into that mocap...
But. Dont really think animation is the major itch...Composition, rotoscoping, Geometry tracking is the major major of all majors. What if you can animate and cant integrate into live action?

And most cartoony animation wont work properly with mocap (because of the necessary squatch and stretch) unless we are taking facial mocap

I know, but it'll go a long way in speeding up production time

LOL, I was making a research on Diy mocap and I came across an Xbox kinect device that you can use for mocap, it also comes with a face capture device. It's not more than 50k in jumia.

If we can get that kinda stuff I think it can go a long way in helping our ministry

It isn't dat MOCAP ain't gud. it's just dat, it's better if you already know how to animate otherwise how do you correct errors arising from d capture? how do you fine tune it if it needs to? It saves a lot of time. It would be nice to have mocap around but it's not just gud for the newbie.

There is no way a newbie would want to produce a high standard animation movie, he'll definitely need to become a pro or anything that's not a newbie.

What am saying is that it is necessary to learn all the basics and every thing about animation but it isn't necessary to continue killing and stressing yourself after you've learnt when you can use mocap.

Whether you're bringing up a herd or just a couple of hogs, follow these five techniques to keep your pigs happy on the farm.

Archer notes a few basic husbandry skills can make for a happy home: clean water, an adequate, well-balanced diet and adequate ventilation. She also points out one very important task to maintaining hogs' long-term well-being: record keeping. "Farmers must have a record-keeping system to establish a baseline for their production numbers, so they can track continuous improvement." Alabama A&M and Auburn University have put out some nice Swine Production Records, which can be helpful when trying to organize your records.

4. Understand your pigs:

Understanding a pig's "point of balance" can give farmers and pigs peace of mind, Archer explains. "The point of balance is around the animal's shoulder: If we touch the animal behind her shoulder, she will move forward, and if we touch her in front of her shoulder, she will back up. These two tools help us to keep animals moving in the direction in which we want them to move." In addition, mechanisms like pig rings can help keep your livestock under control.

5. Minimize stress on your livestock:

Transportation can be stressful for animals and humans, but it is crucial to minimize that stress in order to maximize your pig farming profit, and everyone's well-being. "Minimizing stress starts long before we move the animals," says Archer. "It's important to walk through the pens and handle the pigs to get them used to positive human interaction." Of course, when it comes to the animal getting used to anything, the earlier the better.

OK so I was thinking, I know that one of the major challenges that we Nigerians face in the animation industry is the animation itself, how you'll get to rig and animate your character, can take up to months. But what do you guys think about mocap, I know that some of you don't like the idea for some reasons, but think about it if we have a mocap gadget it'll make animation easier and more fun. I believe that most of these Hollywood studios use mocap. What do you think

S.A is not ordinary o. There is an animation Studio there called "Trigger fish" I think. they have a full feature 3D animation that I've seen and it's by all standards good, thank you very much. But again South Africa is not Nigeria. Working on a project here can be a pain in the pain. So unless, you have people ready to begin work and remain dedicated without any reward, then it's kaboom before it even takes off.

So SA has a high standard animation studio and no one hears about their movies in Africa let alone the world, naija that we don't have anything our Movies are very popular, now imagine what would happen if we start producing high Sci fi movies. And by Sci fi I mean both horror and action, just anything that has to do with CGI

Honestly let us tell ourselves the truth, even if we manage to start creating really amazing 3d cartoons in Nollywood it will go a long way, but not like that of Hollywood. Why? Because here in Nigeria the only people who majorly watch cartoons are the children and some teens and a few young adults. Majority of the adults do not watch cartoons and these are the people with the cash. Unlike in the foreign countries where majority of the population watch and appreciate these cartoons. What am I saying?, if we are to make a CGI break through in Africa and Nigeria in particular then our main target is how to integrate it with our Movies. We have to start making high Sci fi movies that require both 3d modeling and animation, something that can appeal to the majority. Am not saying that we should not do 3d cartoons oh what am saying is that if we want to have a break through we should focus on Sci fi movies.

On finance, no, Africa is not ready. But there are a handful of us that can still manage to pull off something nice with a 100th of dat figure or maybe a little bit more. Still, I'm personally going to start off like Jobs did. Creating something nice, yet creative.
When it comes to animation, I love all d movies from d BIG Studios. Talking d Ice age franchise, Despicable mes, Cars, Hotel Trans, everything. I never really liked Tango dat much. Maybe I'll find time to watch it again.

I did the math, that's over 490 million Naira, Nollywood alone has not even produced a movie worth half of that amount let alone for a 3d cartoon.

Actually I believe that most of these foreign cg artists do these stuffs because it's what they love doing regardless of the money. For example if you check YouTube you'll see thousands of really good animated shorts done by people like us over there who don't even work for one big studio. They just do it and upload. So for we Africans to get there I think that we have to first be able to enjoy what we are doing, our outputs should be able to give us joy money or no money. If we start waiting for the money then I don't think that we are ready or will ever be.
