PoliticsRe: The Reason Why Greedy Rita Lori Rejects Gov.Uduaghan's Xmas Gift. by nomsov147(m): 7:50pm On Dec 31, 2012
Dogbeji2: This dance of shame by Chief Rita Lori is an embarrassment to the Itsekiri people. It has been the tradition of the governor to care for the elderly during Xmas but that doesnot warrant the kind of publicity that a supposed elderly woman is giving to the gift because of her personal land dispute with the state government.
The funny part is the governor might not be aware that her name was on the list of elders, to me she is just trying to gain publicity and this is not the best way to go about it

PoliticsWorld Bank Scores Delta State High by nomsov147(op): 8:16pm On Oct 30, 2012
AN official of the World Bank, Mr. Jens Kristensen, has scored the Delta State Government high in the areas of economic development, job creation and educational development.

Kristensen, the bank’s Task Team Leader, State Employment and Expenditure for Results Project (SEEFOR), made his position known yesterday in Asaba at the opening ceremony of a three-day programme.

The programme dwells on the implementation support mission of officials of the World Bank, Federal Ministry of Finance and the SEEFOR National Project Coordinating Unit of SEEFOR Project in the state.

The SEEFOR team leader, while commending state government for the implementation of SEEFOR projects in the state said; “Delta State is doing well, it is truly on the right track in terms of economic development.”

“The state, I can say categorically, is committed to strengthening good governance and it has very strong ownership in driving the SEEFOR project,” Kristensen added.

He used the forum to advocate early and quick legislation on the borrowing plan, stressing that that would go a long way in determining the release of funds.

The state Commissioner for Economic Planning, Mr. Kenneth Okpara, who was represented by the Permanent Secretary in the ministry, Mr. Gift Nikoro, said the state government was irrevocably committed to SEEFOR projects in the state.

To this end, Okpara explained that the state government has since approved and released its 2011 counterpart funds for SEEFOR projects within four months of request

Okpara said, “It is worthy to note that in the last month, the State Executive Council approved the release of 2012 counterpart fund for SEEFOR project. “It is also heart-warming to note that the steering committee in the state has been committed to the success of the project.”

In a goodwill message, Economic Adviser to the State Governor, Afam Obiago, said the state government and the World Bank had been partnering to ensure robust economic development in the state.
