Egypt Qualifiers for Semi finals

Egypt 5-4 Ghana (penalties)

Egypt booked their place in the semi-finals of the TotalEnergies CAF U20 Africa Cup of Nations Egypt 2025 with a nerve-shredding 5-4 penalty shootout victory over Ghana after a pulsating 2-2 draw in regulation and extra time at the New Suez Stadium.
Hope Ghana can still qualify for the world cup.

Shebi it's 6 representatives from Africa?

Gentlemen and Ladies
Our Flying Eagles will be facing Senegal U20 in the first quarter final game of the U20 AFCON in Egypt. This match will determine if we qualify for the world cup in Chile or not.

Senegal beat DR Congo 2-0 to qualify as runners up in Group C. Ghana beat CAR 1-0 to top their group.

Can the Flying Eagles deliver on 12th May? Senegal has always been a thorn in the skin of our age grade teams. We keep our fingers crossed and see what Aliyu Zubairu and his lads can do.
Senegal has never been a thorn in our flesh at any age grade ( or any level) of football.

Yinmu.

So the likes of Morocco and Turkey that got to the semis hv 2 heads abi?

We should even be ashamed of ourselves.

Imagine a country like Costa Rica always doing well at the world cup by regularly getting to the quarter finals but somehow that seems like rocket science to Nigeria.

PoliticsRe: The Longest Serving King In Nigeria Who Has Ruled For Over 6 Decades by Nomyth: 1:44pm On Apr 18, 2025
Sangoamadioha1:
Determining the longest-serving monarch in Nigeria requires looking at the coronation dates of various kings. Based on available information, here are some of the longest-serving monarchs ¹:
- *HRM Obi Dr. Emmanuel Efeizomor II*: Crowned on September 6, 1959, as the Obi of Owa Kingdom in Delta State, with over 65 years of service.
- *Oba James Adelusi Aladesuru II*: Crowned in June 1959 as the Onigede of Igede-Ekiti.
- *Oba Sikiru Kayode Adetona*: Installed as the Awujale of Ijebu Kingdom on April 2, 1960, with over 64 years of service.

Given the coronation dates, *HRM Obi Dr. Emmanuel Efeizomor II* and *Oba James Adelusi Aladesuru II* appear to be the longest-serving monarchs in Nigeria, both crowned in 1959. However, without exact dates for Oba Aladesuru II's reign end or confirmation of his current status, it's challenging to definitively declare one monarch as the longest-serving. Nonetheless, HRM Obi Dr. Emmanuel Efeizomor II's 65 years on the throne make a strong case for him holding this title.

☝️ Quoted from Meta AI
100% correct!

The Onigede of Igede Ekiti is the longest serving monarch in Nigeria.

Woke football fans of this Era be demonizing players with dribbling abilities.

They see players that can dribble as inefficient and ineffective yet ,dribbling is part of a player's creative abilities. That is how they hv demonized Ejuke as useless simply because he dribbles.

Back to Okocha, not only does he dribble,, he had other special skills too in incredible measure.

Short pass ✔️
Long pass ✔️
Set pieces ✔️
Vision ✔️
Long throw✔️ He's long throw led to our equalizer against Brazil at Atlanta.
Shot power✔️
Shot accuracy✔️
Tackles✔️
Impact on a team✔️

He is almost a complete player even without the dribbles.

Imagine if Nigeria fields an over aged player in a youth tournament and the evidence is overwhelming, will it matter whether our opponents petitions or not before we are sanctioned?

In retrospect, the information about the South Africans' yellow card issues came too early. It allowed them not to play the culprit yesterday.

How I wish the information had come out after yesterday's match, South Africa would hv lost six points due to carelessness tongue
SportsRe: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Nomyth: 4:21pm On Mar 26, 2025
How did we suddenly lose our invincibility at home? Teams come to Nigeria now hoping to pick up points, the fear factor is gone.

And no, this is not just about the Uyo stadium. We have tried Benin, Lagos and Abuja in the last couple of years and we have struggled.

This WCQ campaign we hv lost 6 points at home against teams we have always been comfortable playing against.

If we had gotten those 6 points, we would hv been top of the table by now with SA having 12 pts.

How the tides hv turned.

Personally, I wasn't even watching out for Chelle's tactics in his first match but his man management skills.

I wanted to see if he would be able to psyche the players up back to a winning as it was obvious the players are low on morale and seems to have lost their winning mentality.

I think Chelle excelled in this aspect.

They are joint top of the group ( ok 2nd ATM) and they defeated us at home just a few weeks ago, that is enough motivation for them to go for a win.

Why do they suddenly hv problems with Chelle?
SportsRe: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by Nomyth:
I'm indifferent about the Chelle guy but our fate is tied together so we hv no choice than to support him.

We've had unknown quantities deliver for the Super Eagles in time past.

Westerhof was an assistant coach with feyernord before been appointed the Eagles coach and he led Nigeria to her first world cup appearance and the first AFCON glory outside Nigeria. He is often touted as Nigeria's most successful coach.

Also, Jo Bonfrere was just a physical trainer to the Super Eagles but was appointed as the successor to Westerhof and he won us our only Olympic gold till date and a second place finish at AFCON.

Conversely, we've hired top coaches who flopped with the Eagles.

Thijs libreght qualified Holland for the 1990 world cup but was poor for Nigeria.

Bertis Voght won the Euros with Germany but was a disaster for Nigeria.

Lars Lagerback took Sweden to the world cup but was poor with Nigeria.

Nothing is cast in stones in football.

Welcome Mr Chelle.

With our dominance of female football on the continent, this competition should just be a walk in the park for our girls.

Peeps on here don't need to get triggered whenever positive reports about Nwakali is mentioned here.

The guy that dropped the report on Nwakali yesterday already said he's retired from clamoring for his call up to the National team. He made that clear.

To be fair, the same guy usually drops report from even unknown Nigerian players from the Finnish, Moldovan, Cypriot and Latvian league all the time without people getting triggered.

That'll be a stupid thing to do if they conspired to draw Rwanda just to hurt Libya.

Remember, Libya are still appealing the CAF ruling, what if they win their appeal.

Reminds me of the 2018 WCQ where we fielded an ineligible player against Algeria only for FIFA to overturn the result and award the match to the Algerians.

Up till this day, I keep wondering what could have been had we not wrapped up the qualification before that match particularly if we had failed to pick up that point against Cameroon in Yaounde.
