Killwe Nwachukwu born in early 30s hails from Amaegbu Ogwa, Mbaitolu LGA in Imo state & was for more than two decades celebrated as a homegrown Nigerian “superman.” Some of his legendary feats of strength included lifting buses, having cement blocks crushed on his head, and allowing cars to drive over his body. His real name is Nwozuzu Nwachukwu (Son of God). Legend has it that “Killi We” was a nickname he got after a fight with a stubborn man who refused to pay him for a truck load of goods he conveyed from the market to the man’s home. He used to push a wooden two wheel truck with which he carried goods for people. Back then lorries and pick up trucks were few and expensive to hire. So after dropping off the goods, the man refused to pay what Nwachukwu charged claiming it was too high. He tried to walk away and Nwachukwu grabbed him by the hand insisting he must pay. A fight ensued and he lifted, slammed and pinned the man to the ground. The man’s wife ran into the house and came out with a wooden pestle to defend her husband. Nwachukwu snatched it from her, lifted the woman up and pinned her on top of her husband on the ground. Powerless, she started screaming, Killi we o! Nwachukwu, You must Killi we o!” meaning, Nwachukwu, kill us! Credit: Imo facts zone

Rohr banks on Okoye to solve Eagles’ keeper crisis July 26, 2019 ’Tana Aiyejina Super Eagles coach Gernot Rohr has told Sports Extra in an exclusive interview that he is shifting to young Fortuna Düsseldorf II goalkeeper Maduka Okoye, as he looks to solve the goalkeeping crisis that has rocked his team since Carl Ikeme quit due to illness. Rohr’s number one at the just-concluded Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt, Daniel Akpeyi, came under scathing criticisms for a largely unconvincing display, as the Eagles ended up in third-place after beating Tunisia 1-0 in the classification game. The German gaffer gave his three keepers — Akpeyi, Ikechukwu Ezenwa and Francis Uzoho — the chance to play at the AFCON as he continued his search for a solution to the problematic goalkeeping department, but he told our correspondent he would add the 19-year-old Okoye, who was born in Germany to a Nigerian father and German mother, to his goalkeeping options. Because of his dual citizenship, Okoye is eligible to play for either Germany or Nigeria but the former Bayern Leverkusen safe hands has expressed his desire to represent Nigeria ahead of his country of birth, thus making the job of convincing him easier for Rohr and his technical crew. The youngster, who plays in the Bundesliga 2, was invited to the U-23 national side for an Olympics qualifier earlier in the year but club commitments held him back. “My aim is to improve all the departments in the team. The most important ones are the goalkeeper and then the goal scorer, they are already two challenges now, we’ve been working on it for a long time now,” Rohr said. We knew the problem in the goalkeeping department before the AFCON, and that it could be a big problem at the AFCON.So, the bronze medal is really an achievement and we could have even gotten to the final. When you go to the history of winners of AFCON, you must be good in this position, you must be very good and I think we can be. “So, for the goalkeeper position, we have MadukaOkoye, who plays for Dusseldorf; he will be a good one (keeper), I think https://punchng.com/rohr-banks-on-okoye-to-solve-eagles-keeper-crisis/amp/

Everyday they say is for the thief, one day is for the owner of the house, the one day of Ndi Imo has come. When one man's greed is so legendary that he steals your money, concerts ala oha to private use, acquires people's properties by force, builds empire and business conglomerate and still asks you people, "what can yo do about it?" I just pray EFCC does a thorough investigation and persecution, we need to be able to visit him in prison to serve as a deterrent to others. Imagine what these properties could do to the economy and finance of Imo state when the state rightfully takes over them. And someone will come to raise emotional bias by asking what will happen to the children currently at Rochas Foundation. The answer is simple, there were Rochas' school before he became governor, they can be relocated to any of the schools. The blood of Somto, pensioners who lost their lives and the many Imolites who lost their means of livelihood and rendered homeless will definitely not be i vain. Imo will rise again!!

IGP probes siege at Dakolo’s residence, re-assigns petition to DIG July 22 17:32 2019 by Chinedu Asadu Mohammed Adamu, inspector-general of police (IGP), has ordered a probe into the siege laid to the Lagos residence of Timi Dakolo, Nigerian singer. Security operatives had besieged Dakolo’s residence during the weekend “to deliver a letter inviting him and Busola, his wife, over the rape allegations” she levelled against Biodun Fatoyinbo of the Commonwealth of God Assembly (COZA). The action of the police had sparked reactions, with Aisha Buhari, the first lady, asking the IGP to say no to rape In a statement on Monday, Frank Mba, police spokesman, said the IGP ordered a “rigorous and discreet scrutiny” into the police operation “to ascertain its conformity with Police Standard Operating Procedure and International Best Practices.” He added that Adamu also re-assigned the investigation into the rape allegation to Michael Ogbizi, deputy inspector-general of police (DIG) in charge of the force criminal investigation department (FCID). “The DIG is also expected to take over the investigation of the complaint made by Pastor Biodun Fatoyinbo against the Dakolos in addition to providing a personal supervision to all facets of the investigation to ensure justice and fair-hearing to all the parties, with each case being treated purely on its merit,” Mba said. “While enjoining the general public and the parties involved in the cases to remain calm and patient, the IGP assures of unalloyed Police professionalism in the matter.” Dakolo had condemned the siege which he described as “an attempt to abduct myself and my wife for telling the truth.” He had also accused the police of attempting to intimidate him and Busola. “All we have asked is for this matter to be duly investigated,” he had said, adding that “I have noted with increasing alarm, how my life, my wife’s life and the lives of our children have been put at risk by unscrupulous persons.” Busola had alleged that Fatoyinbo raped her as a minor, an allegation the pastor denied. https://www.thecable.ng/just-in-igp-probes-siege-at-dakolos-residence-re-assigns-petition-to-dig

GOVERNMENT OF IMO STATE OFFICE OF THE DEPUTY GOVERNOR PRESS RELEASE IRONA: NO MORE AMNESTY FOR CRIMINALS …AS OIL LANDLORDS INSIST ON IMO PRODUCING NEXT NDDC MD Deputy Governor of Imo State, His Excellency, Hon. Gerald Irona says the state Government will not grant amnesty to any criminal in the state. The Deputy Governor gave the warning while addressing stakeholders of Ohaji/Egbema/Oguta during a stakeholders meeting at Oguta Civic Center, Sunday. He further warned that criminals granted amnesty by the last administration are on the watch list of the state government and could have their amnesty revoked, if they get involved in criminality. Speaking on the first stakeholders meeting of people of the area, Irona explained that the meeting is non partisan but aimed at consulting and briefing the people on the activities and programmes of the government, in line with the campaign promises of the Governor, Rt. Hon. Emeka Ihedioha. “We shall not give amnesty to anyone. Those of them given amnesty are on our watch list. If they involve in any form of criminality, we shall withdraw the amnesty. This meeting is not partisan, but a meeting of stakeholders of Ohaji/Egbema/Oguta.” He lamented over what he described as politicization of the Imo State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission-ISOPADEC by previous administrations in the state, reiterating the determination of the administration of Chief Emeka Ihedioha to return the Commission to the oil landlords in the state. Speaking on funding, of the Commission, the Deputy Governor stressed: “I have extracted commitment from our leader and Governor of Imo State, His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Emeka Ihedioha that ISOPADEC shall receive full funding, as provided by the law establishing it.” “The State Government has released all the monies meant for local governments to them. ISOPADEC has received its funds in full. Our people should hold the chairmen and ISOPADEC leadership to account. The Governor has demonstrated faith by releasing the funds, as promised.” Speaking on electricity supply, the Deputy Governor lamented that most communities in the two local government areas have been without electricity for about eight years, assuring that the state government is doing its best to restore power supply in the areas before the end of the year. He further used the occasion to explain the reasons behind the introduction of an Advisory Committee for the Commission, describing its members as non-partisan. Hon. Irona used the occasion to call on communities willing to donate land to the state government for agricultural purposes to contact the office of the Deputy Governor for further discussions. He also used the occasion to urge Traditional Rulers in the area to take full responsibility for all government Infrastructure in their domain. He frowned at a sponsored publication on one of the national dailies, wherein Imo State is said not to be entitled to the position of the Managing Director of the Niger Delta Development Commission- NDDC, describing it as toxic. Meanwhile, in a 19-point Communique issued after the meeting, stakeholders resolved to refute the advertorial on page 26 of Vanguard newspapers, with the false claim that Imo State should not produce a Managing Director for the NDDC. They argued that it is the turn of Imo State to produce the Managing Director of the Niger Delta Development Commission-NDDC, agreeing to take steps to advance an advocacy towards achieving same. Stakeholders poured encomiums on the administration of Chief Emeka Ihedioha and his Deputy, Hon. Gerald Irona, for what they described as inclusive governance, assuring them of total support. Highlights of the meeting were the formal presentation of the new leadership of ISOPADEC, Adapalm Nigeria Limited, as well as the ISOPADEC Advisory Committee. The meeting was attended by very important dignitaries, among whom are: Prof. Okee Okoro, Sir Mike Okiro, former Inspector General of Police, Engr. John Otti, former Chairman, Presidential Taskforce on Power, General Kalu Egwuagu (Rtd), Prof. Ike Azogu, Hon. Hilary Eberendu, Chairman, Interim Management Committee, Oguta LGA, Hon. IMO: ITC OPEN TO FRANCHISE The Chairman of Imo Transport Company interim management, Emeka Aririguzo, has said, this morning on Hot Fm Radio, that the state owned transport company is open to granting franchise to individuals who are willing to do business with the company. This entails that one can, after signing the dotted lines in the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) register his bus with the ITC and receive commission weekly or monthly or yearly. This idea will certainly increase the number of vehicles of the company to serve Imo people better. It is also a deviation from what was obtainable in the past administration where only few buses were at the disposal of the company. The public, expecially business men, are encouraged to cash in on this policy and have alternative means of income. - Nze Duru Kizito

LOST AND STILL MISSING, A CASE OF MISSING IRROMA TRUCKS, REFUSE DUMP TRUCK AND BLACK CABS. Gaddafi Avutu writes! During Chief Ikedi Ohakim's government, Ndi Imo witnessed the purchase of brand new waste disposal trucks for the speedy evacuation of refuse which helped in lessening the cost of hiring private trucks for the same purpose. Ohakim also purchased brand new trucks under the IRROMA revolution. Many other construction equipments like Payloaders, Graders etc were bought brand new for rehabilitation of rural and urban roads in Imo state. Tragically, the succeeding government of Rochas Okorocha after inheriting these trucks, cold not account for them after a short while. I don't want to flog this issue further but I think the committee on the recovery of government properties headed by Jasper Ndubuaku should at least recover the Imo Black Cabs and Buses or find out under which arrangement all of them disappeared immediately Ihedioha was announced winner of the gubernatorial election. These trucks are needed now that Imo is going Green and Clean again and ENTRACO will need the big IRROMA dump trucks and payloaders for their job. Money Saved from this will be plunged into other yawning sectors of the economy. Anyone with useful information on this disappeared government properties should report to the committee in charge. Be loyal! Report them now. You will not regret helping to pull back your state from the hands of thieves. #RebuildImo! #CollectiveResponsibility!!
