So, summarily, we should keep applying right?
Yes na, why would you turn down a full ride if you get one. Come study for free and see how it goes thereafter.

I can see that you are in MA, I'm in CT.

Well said, but I still advice especially if you're forking out a lot of money, go to canada instead since its immigrant friendly so you can have a seamless transition and green card in 3 years, after which you can enter USA at your will
Yeah, the above is the best approach if you are coming for all these courses that are not technical and locals enroll in because you'll find it difficult to get a job that will sponsor you.

You're applying to grad school but cant take a minute or two to open the link and read what it says

But you call me names, lol you go see am last last
Funny nobody in america has argued with me, it's always the know it alls who are in Nigeria
Someone argued that the saying that experience is the best teacher applies to fools because a wise person should learn from the experience of others.

Having said that, I believe the ban on IV will be lifted in no time, the time-consuming element would have been the e-passport requirement and we already have that. Even without this ban and the various strict measures this man is putting in place including the elimination of D/S hinted in the link above, getting an OPT or H1B employment was a tall order.

In any case, I think anyone coming should not be swayed as things change and you don't know what will happen going forward.

I am not sure what the admission letter says, does it say full tuition waiver, cause this out of state waiver, it might mean he would have to pay part of the tuition
He continues to provide information that does not help or answer his question. The letter clearly says he needs about 7k dollars to cancel out the deficit on his i20 and his asking if the offer is worth it.

To know if the offer is worth it depends on the circumstance of the candidate. Whether the person has other pending decisions is the most critical info needed to respond to him. If that is the only school he/she is looking at, then the focus shifts to affordability.

Before they'll say I'm rude, how can someone that has gone through the admission process be asking this question and then not providing context?

Please good people, has anyone ever being admitted with deficit of approximately $7,000 and Stipends (TA) worth $10,000 for 9 months?

Is the offer a fair deal. Asking for a friend
It is for you to judge, only you understand your situation based on the info in the post. Some people get full-ride while others don't get a cent. So, are you able to foot the rest of the COA with the offer you got?

How can you bring Trump into this? Is he not the American President?
Very soon Buhari go send delegation to go commiserate with the family of the American disaster.

How can a country progress if the majority care more about everything foreign and nothing local?
Abeg my Oga dey call me grin
Sorry you got me wrong. People identify with the famous because they want to belong. Trump will not condemn or send condolences if it were an unknown fellow that passed.

I was watching the NFL pro bowl when I heard it, was I heard killed I thought it gunshot but later discovered it was a heli. I immediately told myself that the life of a two year old killed by boko haram and him own no get difference.

The former Governor sounds to be Tambuwal.

Meanwhile, as we are reading these atrocities committed in years back, I believe we will also be reading some related stories about this administration in some years to come.

This is Nigeria, a country where we have recycled thieves as leaders.
The governor is Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu State. He was a house of rep member from 2003 to 2015 and was chairman, house committee on marine transport for 8 years.

The unfortunate thing about this story is AVM Atawodi, the guy is from Idah, a LG in kogi State without a good access road. Add that to the poverty in that state and go figure.

Just tell us you’re the owner of Nigeria and you call all the shots. Mr national importance, who else does not know that government ministries and parastatals are the problem of Nigeria. That is the perennial breeding ground and perpetuator of corruption.

You are asking that oga to post his experience? That is how we behave, we think a setback is a permanent failure. I don't know why someone would go to the embassy to take the survey of approvals and denials. That there were 100 denials before my turn does not affect my case in any way, the VO would not grant approvals where there is doubt and if there are 100 doubtful applicants before me, they'll be delayed and all the rejections doesn't affect my case.

One of my stock brokers who is a tenant of UACN recommended the stock when it around N5 last, they equally marketed an " Asset backed lending" facility for a minimum of N5 million which I did not apply for because no one imagined what we are currently enjoying coupled with the fact that I lost money speculating on Lafarge about 2 years ago.

Part of the reason why some investors have refused to return to the market is because of brokers with his disposition, they'll promise you returns as if they control the market. In investment mgt, trust is what you guard with all your heart after salvation.

You only came here to project your pecuniary interest and we gave you an uppercut. You are not missed in any way as there are veterans here to share insights. You are being selective, what about FO and GTB? Why did you not call CCNN that has returned over 100%.

One thing is sure, you will not get a dime from anyone here. The forex that you have been trading for over a decade, your only trophy is blowing 200k in one breadth and returning 5k to the owner.

Not advisable to buy BUA now, but to sell if you can get a buyer at the current price.

The core investor is the one selling and buying from himself
Pa Emma,

I agree that no one should be buying BUA at this time. However, I do not agree that he is the one selling and buying selling concurrently. Which of your brokers tell you? Rely less on the veracity of info you get from that your source.

Invest in businesses you know and understand in and out, invest in businesses you know their products, markets, competitors and management.

Invest in US stocks if you are very knowledgeable about the businesses of the stocks you are buying.

If not you are better off, buying Eurobonds and earn between 6% and 9.5% yield.
You are right. One might think this post suggests that it is easier to understand Nigerian businesses than Us businesses because of the locational difference since this is a Nigerian forum. However, it is easier to understand US businesses than ours. Using business research databases like S&P Netadvantage, Thompson One, Factset, Bloomberg, and a host of others would give you more information on US companies than the Nigerian companies on those platforms.

Nigerian companies are not on Yahoo finance but you can get the basic information on any US quoted company for free.
