emmanuelewumi:Thank you, I see where you’re coming from. |
There are many threads on the US market. https://www.nairaland.com/2460429/us-stock-market-even-playing/15#65783068 You guys can revive the one above. I find it most useful because it lays out how to go about investing in the US market with contributions from actual investors |
@All, what is your assessment of the 2019 trading year. I am of the view that it is disappointing. The current administration lacks clear direction and foreign investors are not interested in what we have. Most foreign funds were short on net basis for the year. With America doing well, funds will follow the letters of diversification and not the intent when investing in frontier and emerging markets. Why should I pursue less return with more risk? |
emmanuelewumi:Oga Emma, how did you arrive at 700bn, I’ve checked and couldn’t reach the same conclusion. Were there other items you considered outside the stated cash balance on the balance sheet? |
The decade in focus. I think Apple, Amazon, and big tech were the main drivers of US returns.
|
EgunMogaji2:Fidelity bank, the ceo worked with Allison Madueke in that transaction. https://www.google.com/amp/s/mobile.reuters.com/article/amp/idUSKCN0Y10PB |
Doyin2:So says the cretin that was disputing my figures the other day. Like Sagamite would say, you are a product of a failed educational system. The type that doesn't know what it entails to live a dignifying life.
|
RabbiDoracle:You’re calling the wrong guy, he’s not an investor but a scammer. The guy to call is the one that has numbers, I mean the guy that wanted to finish mopping before releasing his numbers. It is when you’re new to this market that you’ll hope something good would come from a Nigerian run firm. The loss from discontinued operations, who did they sell to? How was the price determined? |
Uchetoba:Oga, stop deceiving yourself. The market will do what it wants. There is no information so classified that you have that many prop traders are not privy to. Even if you’re the one that is in charge of the deal which you’re not, you should know that all information is freely available because the market is very small and close. So Oga, there is no numbers anywhere. And there is no numbers so attractive that those that have funds to impact price are not privy to. So just stop posting rubbish because you want to massage your pride. UACN is available, go and buy and save us this chicanery. |
TraDeRR:They’ll lift those bans once Benin Republic learns to abide by the ECOWAS agreement. Aliko will find a way to reach all locations. That is if he’s affected at all. |
I just checked the race of the moment, see what I found below. |
emmanuelewumi:Oga Emma, you’re the GCFR of investing na, your level na ontop, you even get special account to know the annual fee for individual clients. You’re an oldie from the pre DMA era, your type no go even want trade online, you’ll prefer speaking with your brokers to pick their brains on investing. Na you get market, multiple accounts for private placements. Who remembers those days, Mohammed Ajayi Ugochukwu alone can have up to 20 variations of the same name for public offer and private placements. |
Where is @ NwaAmikpe when you need him most? |
Mcy56:Yeah, but you’ll lose nothing for having one, if trades don’t go through, send your orders to them for execution. Having a second one ain’t bad because it costs next to nothing to set one up. All of you multiple account crew, Aliko uses only meristem, Baba Glo trades with CSL, I can go on and on. You guys can see that your money has come to maintain multiple accounts. Na una dey ontop, ontop of una na una. We dey down dey observe. |
OakPearl:They ambushed the jijoists here, else Na so dey stock go dey fly with max gain. I remember one company that year, the name na Roads, they declared bonus and the price didn’t go anywhere because of illiquidity. Most companies on the NSE don’t have any business being listed. Market makers self dey look for who to cheat, market making come get new meaning for NSE. |
locodemy:He he, Loco, is Morgan not your online broker? Most of them wouldn’t let you know and might discourage you but you can bring your fees down. You mean say all your trades dey go at full commission, na your type we dey buy sallah ram for. You be Baba, after you na you. |
nna777:My assumption was that one has an account with Morgan. If your aim is to make money, it is always better seeking where you can trade with minimal fees. On not being able to trade for 3 days, na you no want trade. All the brokers still run their order books like we had in the pre DMA era, so you can always place your orders and have the broker execute them. For better bargain, Morgan is available for all, other brokers can match their fees if you negotiate. |
yom2:I don’t know why folks are looking for multiple stockbrokers, I’ll understand if you’ve been around before the DMA era else there’s no need for multiple accounts especially when Morgan has a clear advantage. The meristem that I know charges full commission and that would come to 3.75% for a round about trade. Wale was at the forefront of opposing Adu when he came up with his “crazy” idea of charging a quarter of a percent. |
Agbalowomeri:Se na the same CBN been dey scramble to cover 500 billion hole for their books before elections? Them don get where to get the money from. Nations that move forward don’t do things the way they’re done here. They’ll come up with policies that would serve their proprietary interests. If you don’t know, you’ll think the border closure came from the side of wanting better for the country and the citizenry, however, this very one is to settle scores to make Benin cower for one man. He has so flourished in killing businesses here that he’s upped his game to kill a nation. I support the closure 100% but since the reason is faulty, we’ll not get the desired results in the long run. |
Only me cannot laugh this laugh alone, it will be selfish https://www.nairaland.com/5450835/menthol-mc-oluomo-nurtw-banner What is goheen on here |
@Peter, no meme? Please complete your post |

The reasonable thing to do is to short oil. Aramco already said they’ll restore over half of the damage immediately and the Oga below has promised to keep the market afloat
|
Agbalowomeri:Oga, may your wisdom be bullish. This is a better way of dealing with global conflicts. SIPRI puts the 2018 military budget at $18trillion, imagine what that amount would do to these trouble-making countries. |
@Peter, come see where FBNH compares to UBA. Assuming the numbers are tell future price path, UBA is stronger. |
Agbalowomeri:I used to believe everything before, until one brother criticized Gbile after a program that he teaches marriage while most of the sisters in peace house are unmarried. I reason the thing, first I thought the brother to be a backslider. After many years, I now developed my own sense of reasoning. Religion matter get as e be. |
veecovee:How does Lotto, pool, betnaija result in inordinate or excessive desire for material things or another person's possessions? Please clarify how it leads to greed and how investing in shares does not. In explaining your points, you are free to use tables, graphs, charts, and examples, where necessary to drive your points home. |
OakPearl:That one no be Peter o, na different person. |
onegentleguy:He took over the second (alphabetically) company on the list, https://www.pencom.gov.ng/pension-fund-administrators/# When we talk of cash cows, PFAs come first. Just hustle for RSAs and you'll be swimming in money. |
onegentleguy:He he, the truth is always the truth and it appeals to the conscience of those that seek it. So what you posted was the absolute truth, I'll be deceiving myself to think otherwise. onegentleguy:Why I don't stress about buying anything now is that they materially trading at a discount, it is just the human nature of wanting to totally avoid regret to makes us cautious. Everyone will be alright. It is just a matter of time. |
MTNN will win the most defensive stock this year. The float seems to be helping it, I had expected it to be illiquid like Airtel but was wrong. If you are in for the long haul, that stock is a better alternative to investing in the TBills or MMFs. |
onegentleguy:Thank you, advice well taken. On UACN, just pray your appropriate time is not when a mad fellow wants to exit fast. The experience will like that of those that bought FCMB at 1.7 levels and the seller went down to 1.50 levels. Again, thanks for the advice. I am sorry for every 'you don't know what you are saying' posted here. |
