Series of events and media hypes in the past couple of weeks have given credence to the fact that this forthcoming 2015 presidential election can go the way of either of the two major political parties viz, PDP or APC. Therefore it is expedient to give a thought to the likely pattern of government that will be formed at the centre. That of PDP is largely predictable, with little adjustment the pattern will assume what we have seen in the past couple of years. On the forgoing account, I wish to share my thought on the Buhari led APC government at the centre. Prof Osinbajo, SAN and a renowned lawyer, would have by his background studied political science; therefore I am of the strong conviction that he must have certainly understudied Gen. Buhari especially as it relates to his 1983 – 1985 regime. One of the major fallout of that regime was the way and manner the government was led. It is a known fact that Buhari was the head of state, but was not really the head of government, his deputy Idiagbon was. Osinbajo, unlike many Nigerians who have been lauding Buhari for his seemingly liberal nature for giving Idiagbon free hand to operate, knows that Buhari did not just give Idiagbon free reign but for personal challenges bothering on educational inadequacy, inexperience in the act of governance and inherent docility of his person. Buhari is a leader that wants to be led. Tinubu is aware of this fact and has tutored Osinbajo to carve a knit for himself right from this very beginning. Osinbajo, who himself come across as a reserve person has became even more visible than the presidential candidate himself in recent weeks and he seems to be running his show independent of his potential boss. Here is my worry, come 2015 in the event that APC form the central government, events will not be as pleasant as they were during Buhari/Idiagbon military era. Tinubu is strategizing in a game plan that will eventually move the seat of power from Aso Rock to his Lagos office. This plan started even before the party primaries, he tactically edged out Atiku in preference for Buhari. His shop for a stooge to act as Buhari running mate, since he has became unelectable, made the idea of an Oshiomole or Ameachi who are independently minded, not among his choices. Osinbajo fitted perfectly to his game plan. The problem I foresee is that the Northern establishment who are equally aware of their kinsman’s weaknesses (media have recently added terminal health challenge), will not sit idling by and allowed Tinubu and some south western sudden friends of the ‘messiah’ to become shadow president. They will be ready to guard and guide the Buhari led government to serve their northern interest. Their action might be so overtly carried out that Tinubu and his stooge will be cut out of governance. There goes the turbulence of Buhari/Osinbajo APC government come 2015. Just my reflection. |
Rubbish, when people are buying 3gig for 1k in some other platform. |
It's just unfortunate that when advanced part of the world are looking for youths to take the matton of leadership, some African countries still believe that their destiny lies in octogenarian leadership. |

I don't know what is wrong with this country called Nigeria. Doing US bid since 1800 yet openly chastised and rejected by America |
Buhari has been contesting elections since 1999 does it mean INEC has not bothered to ask for his credentials? Nigeria self. |
The last time I checked, Lagos is not the only state in Nigeria. Why is he only circulating himself around Lagos alone which is already an APC state or is it just a matter of convenience? |
See who is talking. What did your father, yourself and your siblings use to milk Kwara state dry. I hate it when people that have their hands filled with corruption accuse others of been corrupt. |
akinladejo:It seems you also have a problem using your brain. It is hard for you to assume that he kept them together in one place. @topic, what did INEC use in clearing him in the previous election? Why are we making noise out of nothing. The school that issued the certificates in the first case has written to confirmed that he attended the school, is that not enough? |
wirinet:How is that a problem. There are lots of people that I know of doing just that. Lecturing in one institution and upgrading themselves in another. |
Are u a learner. How do u hope to marry in ur 40s and expect to bear quality children ie if you have not hit menopause. You seem to be married yourself. Why didn't you wait or are u regretting already? |
Is he regretting why not following the Bible teaching of his former teacher has cost him his VP position? |
Honestly I will give it a very serious consideration, especially if I find her attractive and intelligent |
waleadex:You mean prophetic |
I have been looking at him since i first saw him and read of his age. He looks 65-70 years to me. |
This is why i don't give gifts to mumu people, especially marriage gifts. Nonsense story |
Nonsense. That should be somebody's wife and mother. |
See Diezani. God!! |
The book seems to be an interesting piece. Where can I get it to buy? |
What makes GMB formidable now that he was not four years ago. Mark is indirectly saying that GEJ non performance suddenly threw Buhari up as a strong opponent. His choice of words and that of Okupe are always bad. |
Nairaland seems filled with dumb people, simple contribution to fight Ebola, they wont understand. Jazz |
Why are you girls in pain because a toaster is on line. Remember it is from a toaster you graduate to Boo. |
This is a grand deceit that will never be allowed in a sane society except Nigeria. This is disgusting |
This is going to be a close call. Agbaje for his popularity and Ambode for his party |
new pixs? but his wedding ring is still on his finger. |
Sorry, but your husband seems dull not to realise that you can always reach out to those you want to through backup. I can see unhappy marriage brewing. |
This is the rational thing to do. |
