This lockdown is supposed to stop the spread of this virus. This would have been the case in a developed country. Where the entire country could be disinfected during the lockdown, people are provided with food and shelter etc.

But the the reverse will most likely be the case in Nigeria. Here are 5 things Nigeria will most likely achieve with the lockdown.

1) basic esentials will be on the rice.

2) more jobs will be lost

3) Nigerians will become poorer

4) crime will increase

5) more Nigerians will die from other diseases like High Blood pressure, depression, malnutrition etc due to lack of access healthcare and emergency response.

At some point violence and lawlessness will have a field day and people wont even care anymore if they are infected or not . This will lead to a wider spread.

Its very obvious you have a pessimistic world view. I see a better Nigeria with the virus contained.

that's nice of Reno. However, I think helping one man out of hundreds of victims looks somehow. why not make a general donation to the fire victims fund ? Each donor cannot be picking a disaster victim to help, more so, I know government, NGOs and well wishers have started making promises. Let the assistance be general and not based on individual sentiment. What about the woman who got burnt with her child, what hope can we give her? Those that have lives still have hopes. Let's contribute to fund this victim's hope, NP amount is too small.

”the paper further recommends a political structure that might help to solve the periodic tension that is usually associated with electioneering period in the country. Firstly, the country needs to revert back to the pre-1964 regional arrangement as most states as we currently have them today are not viable economically. This reversion is one way the country can solve the problem of financial crunch and frequent cap in hand by states to federal government for financial bailout. Secondly, the paper further recommends that each region should be saddled with the responsibility of electing their presidential representative who will then represent them in a Presidential Council to be inaugurated in Abuja. This council will be composed of the representatives of the six (6) regions (North East, North West, North Central, South South, South West and South East) and they are to serve for a single tenure of 12 years. Likewise, the enormous powers been wielded by the president in the current structure would have been winded down considerably.
