dotcom_na_me_na_me: Hello everyone, pls I need ur advice about this. My brother is an Insurance graduate and has been working for over 7 years now in an insurance company in Lagos. He has married with 2 kids and living in rented apartment in Lagos. He has two Sa visa on his e-passport and he has visited twice. He wants to study his post graduate in either US or Canada, but he is confused of where is the best to study it. Secondly, which school do u think they offer cheap post graduate in insurance? And must he pay the full tuition before he can be given visa? Does it necessary to apply with his family or he should apply alone? Someone said it is not compulsory for him to pay any tuition fee in US but only registration fee and can be granted visa, how true is this? If at all he apply to any school for post graduate course, he is 37 years old, can he be sponsored by individual at his age because he is 37 years old. Or he must be sponsored at work? And like how much must the sponsor have in the account? To my little knowledge, tuition deposite differs, some schools may demand you to pay full semester tuition before an acceptance letter will be issued for visa processing, some may demand little non refundable tuition deposite just to reserve a space for you,so do your reseach very well.He dont need to go with his family unless he have the money but i will advise him to go first then they will join him later. His age have notting to do with his post graduate programme. His employer can sponsor him if possible or his parents.Others can also sponsor him but his employer, parents, brothers and sisters or close relative with thesame surname will be more better. |

kny: hi all, stumbled on this thread and a must commend d team effiorts of vbdy. This actually tells me irrespective of our differences: tribe, race, colour etc, we are still proudly NIGERIANS! Keep it up. My question goes thus: the english language proficiency stuff is it a must u must sit for either TOEFL or IELTS before u can apply to a canadian School? 2) i notice problems associated with transcripts, does it mean one actually need to apply for two transcripts, one to the school and one for CDHC wen applying for permits? 3) i have HND Elect/Elect 2002, PGD 2011 same course, is it advisable to apply for a diploma course in canada? Tks, will appreciate response from d house English language proficiency test is not compulsory for Admission into most Canada universities for Nigerians, you need transcript to apply for admission and visa, yes is possible to apply for diploma course |

A masters program for 7k. That's remarkable. I suppose the 7k covers tuition for a year and the program duration is just a year |

lyfe: @ All thank you oooo. Newacca I don't have pc subscription I'm on mobile and don't have access to skype, what about e-mail or something,
I submitted my application to VAC at oregun on 12th of April, and I received e-mail from vac on 4th of May that my attention was needed. When I tracked it online I got something like "Please contact the Visa Application Centre for further instructions, your attention is required at the earliest."
I submitted all the documents requested for in the application checklist form
Letter of admission University transcript WAEC and NECO with scratch card, the cards were returned with my medical instruction unscratched. TOEFL result as evidence of proficiency in English Language NYSC discharge cert Receipt of the part payment of the school fees University Certificate My parent's marriage certificate
You are more than prepared............congrats Birth certificates of my siblings who are still in the country. Letter of sponsor from daddy stating his source of income and how he intends to sponsor blabla Affidafit of support drafted by court Statement of account like 15M+ His pension authority letter (Certified True copy) My own company certificate of registration (a small business) Certificates of IT course I have. Tax clearance for 3years My business statement of account (dormicialliary and corporate with moderate flow of cash less than 500K) Personal statement of account Police clearance. Statement of purpose(dis one is complex took me a week because of my case is special)
I think one thing that facilitated quick approval of my app is because I have a sis who has been citizen like 6 years ago. So I included pictures we took together, family tree, pix she took with my mummy when she went for a vacatn in Canada. And a letter from her and her family certified by a Canadian notary public stating their support on feeding and accommodation and minor expenses during my stay. They also included the documents of the properties they own and their pay slip and others.
Something I didn't include in the application prayer and fast. I thank God that I am making a headway. I have followed dis thread since the beginning I think 4 years ago. Thank you all. you are more than prepared.............congrats |

Obamacare: Noswaa does it make sense to include another statement of purpose with your submission at the embassy? or a letter of intent, cv or something of such, just asking... Is not part of the visa requirement so i consider it not necessary but it can help in some cases in case if you have something you will like to inform the visa officer. They too like documents |

Olami1224: @Noswaa..... Thank your for response, if i what if i make another admission and get my admission for September, can i apply for Visa this month. When is the appropriate time to apply and start Visa processing. I'll be grateful to hear from you.
Regards
Ola you can try but according to CDHC guidelines,u must apply 4 to 6 months of your resumption date,so if you are to start by sept 5th,dont you think that you are no longer in line with the CDHC advice but if your resumption is may be ending of september,i think you still have time. This comment is not final but this is what i think because when they want to denie visa, they will be looking for something to hook on but if the person is lucky they may ask him to get a new resumption date |

Obamacare: Yes I understand you Noswaa but there is also the place in the application form that ask if you have been denied before and my answer was yes and the reason for the refusal was also stated. I understand they have my detials hence the reason I dont see why I should submit an expired passport moreso that I have never been issued a canadian visa. It would have been a plus to add it if I have gotten a Canadian visa in the past. Just thinking. What does anyone think about what i just said>? You can add a photocopy of the visas you have obtained in the past with departure and arrival stamps. It is not necessary but it helps.I no what am telling you.Lets assume you want to be employe in an organization, after the interview, may be 5 people passed but the need only 4 and out of the 5 people 4 have like 5 years working experience in that field then one may have just 2 or 3 years experience.Who do you think that they will drop?Travel history is disvirgined passport is always better than virgin passport to any embassy. That proves also the level of your claims it is also stated in the study permit check list form that your must submit your previous passport showing travel history |
Thanks but the only travel history I have with the old is Dubai, Senegal, Niger Republic and India. Is it still neccessary I submit the old since have never been to canada? though have been refused visiting to canada
you need it to submit the two,it will help you.Wether you submit it or not they will still know that you were denied entry before, before the immigration use to attach both together.so i advised you submit it |

Obamacare: @ALL PLEASE HELP OUT IN ANSWERING THIS QUESTION. IF I RENEW MY PASSPORT, SHOULD I SUBMIT BOTH THE OLD ONE AND THE NEW ONE OR JUST THE NEW? ARE THERE ANY IMPLICATIONS IN NOT SUBMITTING THE OLD ONE WITH THE NEW? THANKS AND BEST OF LUCK TO YOU ALL. GOD WILL GRANT YOUR DESIRES IN JESUS NAME. AMEN I THINK IS BETTER YOU GO WITH THE OLD ONE BECAUSE DEFINATELY THEY MUST REQUEST FOR THE OLD PASSPORT UNLESS THE OLD PASSPORT AND THE NEW ONE ARE NOT IN THE SAME NAME BC UR PASSPORT NUMBER IS NECESSARY,UNLESS U MISPLACED THE OLD ONE,THEY WILL DIRECT YOU TO IMMIGRATION HEADQUATERS IN ABUJA FOR RENEWAL IN CASE IS FOR VISA APPLICATION,YOU NEED TO SUBMIT THE TWO IF YOU HAVE TRAVEL HISTORY |
