lyfe: Last week was the longest week of my life, I was beginning to jolt when I didn't hear from them, 37 days after medicals.
I got my TRV yesterday. Thanks to all, I can not thank you all; from the creator of NL to the starter of this thread, my friends on here and the invisible spectators(yes you), not forgetting the trolls and the spammers. God bless you all. Those who are still expecting to hear from CDHC keep you hopes alive and don't give up. I know the wait can really be heart wrecking but you still gonna smile no matter the outcome.
congratulations brother, wish you the best ahead

GboyegaD: Please, I would like to make some inquiries.
I intend going for a PhD in the Fall of 2013 at UoGuelph as I am presently a Masters student outside the country. Do I have to come back to Nigeria to process the VISA and what is the shortest possible time to get the documents processed as I may be needing my passport to renew my visa should they want to delay me.
Regards,
If you have all the required Documents, applying from your country of residence will be more better for you and saves you time for visa processing. You can approach Nigerian Embassy in your country of residence to renew your passport, because coming to Nigeria to do that will cost you more.Since you are a student in that country definitely you have residence permit then you are qualified to apply from there

UBKtech: Visa Options

There is a range of visa options under the General Skilled Migration program for skilled workers who want to live in Australia and who do not have an employer sponsoring them. These include options for skilled people applying as an independent migrant as well as those sponsored by a relative, or nominated by a State or Territory government.

Independent

Independent migrants have the least number of restrictions placed on them and this is the preferred option for eligible applicants who do not have an employer to sponsor them. Assess your eligibility for the independent visas before you continue.

Sponsored

If you are sponsored by an eligible relative, please note that there are a number of obligations that must be met by you

r sponsor.
All visa options

You may be eligible for a number of different visa categories and each has different requirements and obligations. Please read through the various visa options to ensure that you choose the visa most beneficial to you and your circumstances.

If You are in Australia

Transitional Applicants

If You are Outside Australia

If You are a New Zealand Citizen

If You Hold a Skilled – Independent Regional (Provisional) Visa (Subclass 495)

If You Hold a Skilled – Designated Area Sponsored (Provisional) Visa (Subclass 496)

Adding Family Members to Your Visa

If you have an employer who is willing to sponsor you, you should apply for an employer sponsored visa.

TravelRe: Travelling To Canada Part 3 by Noswaa: 11:37am On Jun 14, 2012
bumdish: Congrats on your parcel.

For your concern, I think you need to be very careful here. For them to have requested for the Originals of your sponsors' birth cert, then they must be interested in something in particular. Remember, those guys know fully well that you can always arrange a document in Nigeria but they made their request. It is not impossible they have some prior documentation about your sponsor that they want to compare your own documentation with. I wouldn't be happy to see you swallow the hook.

I have a friend whose sponsor did not release his financial documents to, instead the sponsor wrote the embassy that he would be available to fax his financials directly to the embassy for confidentiality purpose.Cutting story short, my friend is now in Canada.

Wonderful suggestion

This is wonderful suggestion

I would advise you consult pros on this, also talk to sponsor. Your sponsor can make a photocopy of his/her original birth cert, support it with a letter stating why the originals would not be available now and probably also add other documentations like photocopies of his Intl Passport and other documentation relevant to proving his birth information.

Please, lets be wise and strategic. Cheers

Let me inform all, virgin passport or not does not really determine your visa application success but what determine it most is the reason why you want to travel, some people have travel different countries but they were denied common South African visa,so don't ever start to put yourselves under dis virgin of a thing, just put every thing in the Gods hand and consider it as the will of God.Some time you may be disappointed in your visa application but that does not mean is the end of the world, may be your time have not come and when it comes, guy no human being can obstruct you.I was once applied for polish study visa but the ambassador with the wife the consular both work in the visa and interview section, they turn down my visa application with one nonsense reason and i inform them not to stamp any thing on my passport, because they were afraid of me with my qualifications, his was afraid that he later give me my application fee back i left and nothing was stamped on my great Nigerian passport,i saw one man his son is a student in Poland and he have visited him once in poland and the man have South African citizenship and he have traveled to many countries but he was also denied on that day,so that my first time to apply for visa but i later thank God that he refused me visa because as it stands now,i can not even cross their because Nigeria is better for me than poland.conclusion,am not the one traveling but am helping some one to go and the persons passport is still virgin,if it is the will of God,visa will be granted,if not let his will be done.It is not do or die affare.Thank you

Jasmine007: @Noswaa, If you must disvirgin your passport before you can be granted a Canadian study or visit visa then i believe 80% of Nigerians are not qualified for their visa and then the embassy shouldn't be doing business with us...We just happen to live in a country where nobody gives a Bleep cus really Canadian embassy and their requirements+processing is shit but who cares so far they got the visas....

@Ebugirl.. you're right and yes most ppl get their visas with virgin passports but then again i agree that travel history plays a very good and active role...

@all ... relax you soldiers , God will make everyone smile in due time....
My brother, thats not what i mean ooooooooo, read it very well...........pls

thanks and God bless u.
In your own case, you need like employment letter, leave letter, statement of account preferably salary account, pay slip, landed property, shares, marriage certificate, birth certificate, tax clearance etc.for some countries that i have visited,i use to show like if i state in the application that i am a Doctor,i use to submit my license, degree certificates, and others. Not all this are vital but it helps. So with this and your itenary,u are good to go
