Bamboo is completely different because you’re paying from your naira account direct to their own naira account.

Only thing is that Bamboo charges at higher rate and gives you back at lower rate.

Example; today is N479 per dollar.
So if you buy $1000, that’s N479k.
If you want to withdraw that same $1000, you will get N469k. It’s only an advantage if you buy to trade, and when you want to sell, exchange rate is now higher than what you paid at. Like I bought $1k @ N424 then. Now it’s N469 withdrawal rate. It’s now my advantage because I’m getting more money on top my trade profit.

Note; Bamboo charges 1.5% buying and selling rate.
So if you still compare with T212 in terms of your actual profit, it’s the same thing.

T212 doesn’t charge you a dime & exchange rate is from your bank not them.

Example: If you use ZenithBank, Gtbank, Ecobank to fund your account (today), the rate is between N390-N400 which is good as compared to Bamboo rate. But when you withdraw your profit to your account, you might get at N370 or N360. It’s not T212 fault, so I’m still sticking with them.

Basically the difference between Bamboo & T212 within the Nigerian geographical location is not much.

I don't believe the above for Zenith bank. I credited my Trading 212 account at #390/$ using my Zenith Bank's MasterCard and I withdrew 1$ just to test the waters and I was credited at same #390/$. I don't know about other banks though

It depends on your bank.
You have to keep bugging them in some cases.
Ask T212 to send you transaction receipt, so you can give your bank to track it.

It takes 3-4 working days but can be longer depending on your bank.

I’ve used ZenithBank (2 working days).
FidelityBank (3 working days).
I sent them transaction receipt and they credited me almost immediately.

Note : you would be credited at a lower exchange rate than what you paid. CBN also takes some charges for International Transactions apparently.

Eg; FidelityBank charged me at almost N530 for Euro.
I was paid back with N491. You see the massive difference?

Being a Nigerian in Nigeria is like having a death warrant. The country will frustrate the living daylight out of you! If you’re using a U.K. account, the same amount you withdrew is exactly what you will be credited. No deductions, nothing!

Anyway just keep calling your bank.
If you’re banking with FCMB or WEMA or all this smaller banks, it could take 10 days or more (according to some folks in one of my telegram groups).

Try other debit cards but note that different banks charge you at their own exchange rate!
Eg: I have euro domination with T212.
Zenith charged me at 440.
Fidelity 530
Access 526 for the same amount of €.

The $500 monthly cap is from CBN not the banks.
Although some offer $1000 cap but at high rate.
Nigeria sucks I know

I don't think so. Link your dom account card to Google pay. When withdrawing, you'll see all the cards linked with your Google pay account, just select the dom card.

Just type NOT LEGALLY REQUIRED for the TIN. Verification is very easy. Mine took just a day because I had to go to the bank to get my bank statement(must be stamped and not less than 3 months).

You can use the bank statement from your mobile app provided your house address is stated on it and it matches the one you registered on Trading 212 (I used it and was accepted).

PS: Fund your Trading 212 account with your Zenith Bank's card via Google pay. I believe they give the best rate compared to other banks.

And go get a $ dom account for withdrawal (not that you can't withdraw to a naira account, I just want to have my money in $$$ and it's good for savings too), preferably a Zenith bank's dom account and it's zero minimum opening balance, (not trying to promote Zenith Bank, it's just that I opened a dom account with them last week and I wasn't required to deposit a minimum amount and I've had a savings account with them since 2019 and it's been a positive experience all through).

PS: On trading 212, only a passport is accepted as id document for residents of countries that aren’t part of the EEA (European Economic Area)
