The way I was brought up was to be independent and contented.
My parents drilled it in me to never ask a guy for something because when I ask I should always expect them to ask for something in return. Their words then was you scratch my back I scratch yours too.

My dad especially taught me to give more than I collect and whatever I collect I should always account for it when needed.

Let's say I grew by that rule. I can boldly tell you I have never asked a guy to buy me something or give me money not to talk of recharge card.
