It is always better to use the pedestrian bridge, you cant be too careful.
Take for instance, a car is behind another at the time you look and decide to make a run for it, and then the driver of the car behind decides to overtake at that same time, what do you think would happen? He wouldn't see you because of the car in front of him and you couldn't have known he/she was going to overtake at the time you decided to cross.

I have learnt that.

Then another thing to configure is the CLASSPATH.
Follow the procedure in setting your path create a new variable 'CLASSPATH' and enter ".;, ;" and add any folder you wish to be storing your java codes.

The thing with 2nd Grade phones is the belief that some of them might be stolen. If you can go to the location and ask the sellers to give you a form of contact even if it is an address. That would be highly appreciated. I doubt we are in the same city so taking me to the location would be quite expensive for me.

While i was asking customer care for my gprs and mms settings for MTN, before i could say the model of the phone i'm using, they could tell. My guess is that they knew it from the IMEI number since it uniquely identifies any mobile device on a network. Does any one know how this is achieved or if it is possible.

Hi Oie, I wish you luck in creating your cipher though i think it is theoretically impossible to create a cipher tht cannot be deciphered. Forget that you probably use a computer with 3.0 GHz processor there are computers that have parallel processors that your 3.0 GHz processor is nothing compared to just one of them!! Then imagine a brute-force attack on your cipher by such computers its just a matter of seconds!!!

You can learn at any training school that offers such. There are lots of them in Lagos and most of them have websites, so an online search restricted to nigeria would help you.
You can also check at NIIT or APTECH. These are well known computer training schools.

What kind of comparism is this? Java is a software development tool i.e a programming language, while oracle is a database management software.
They are used for different things. Sometimes they are used together in a particular software project.

Hi johnpeace, since you've decided you want to be a programmer, welcome to the club. I hope you are prepared to drink a lot of coffee and read lots of books.
I believe that by professional courses, you mean a certification. If that is what you mean, you can prepare for any certification exam of your choice and then register for and write it at the nearest prometric testing center to you. If you can't do that you'll have to go to a computer school (not just any computer school) where you'll be specifically trained for the exam of your choice. The most popular ones are NIIT and APTECH.
Popular certifications for a programmer are SCJP (First Stage for a Java Programmer), before SCJD and other sun microsystems based certifications. There is SCJA which is before SCJP but SCJA is not a prerequisite to SCJP. However SCJP is a prerequisite to SCJD and other sun certifications.
There is also MCSE which is a microsoft certification you'll need to do more research on that. I think(I'm not sure) MCSE is the prerequisite to other microsoft programming certifications. With this, you'll be developing applications based on the .NET development kit.

Others are MCDBA (Microsoft) and OCA which is a prerequisite to OCP and OCM (Oracle) for database administrators.

There are also other certifications for Web developers, sun has its (SCWCD).

Other certifications are also available for hardware technicians and Network administrators e.g A+ CCNA,

Hi johnpeace, i doubt there is any such thing as a professional computer scientist because computer science as a discipline is very very wide and vast. If there is, it may take you a lifetime to achieve such. You have to choose one of the subfields of computer science and be a professional in that. e.g a professional Software developer (and again software development can still be broken down into different fields) or a professional Systems analyst or a Network/Communications expert e.t.c
So do more research on the subfields of computer science and choose one. Goodluck!!
