Is anyone else flying into Sydney on Monday? I'm bracing up for my longest journey ever, and the first in a series. |
Please house, has anyone flown South African Airways from lagos to Australia before? I'm thinking of booking my flight with them so I can save almost $200 as opposed to Etihad. Any ideas? |
brianlerry:Sorry mate, I haven't logged in to NL for a while now. I guess you must have settled in Sydney already. I have applied for a space in Mulwarree apartments, keeping my fingers crossed. I should be jetting out towards the end of this month. |
sleekp1:Trivialities mate .. you making a mountain out of a mole hill. You have stated categorically and severally that Provincial Secondary School could not be in Katsina in 1961, as Katsina State was only created out of Kaduna. I am showing you evidence that there was indeed a "Provincial Secondary School Katsina" as is referred to in those 1961 correspondence and produced from legitimate custody (the Army Secretary). |
sleekp1:Always be thorough in your research before sticking your head out and calling people names. Below are the documents released from Army Secretary custody (and they've been there since Buhari entered the military) and it states "Provincial Secondary School Katsina". Was the Principal forging in 1961 as well?

great664:One love bro. And if u got a sister ... let her holla @ me mehn ![]() Peace |
great664:So after posting I had a rethink and edited my post but apparently you had replied in kind. You can check up on me if you want; I hardly use a strong word on anyone on NL, Sorry about that. I guess you feel a lot better now. P.S: I am not a politician, I do not belong to any party, I'm not even registered for the voters card so I wont be voting. If you had actually looked well you would have noticed that the names were arranged according to surnames. How many people dey go school for Katsina in 1961? |
rhymz:What you are looking at is the "Statement of Results" (which can be released any time on request) duly stamped and certified by the school. What should really concern you is the copy of the Cambridge WAEC result. The Statement only personalizes Buhari's copy of the original Cambridge result. At least we know the Brits and Cambridge have a tradition of keeping records and any query or investigation could be directed there. |
great664:If you had actually looked well you would have noticed that the names were arranged according to surnames. How many people dey go school for Katsina in 1961? I hate when people are in a hurry to find faults. |
Nothing is as powerful as an idea whose time has come. |
brianlerry:Nice one bro. How far wit accommodation arrangements? |
ukchy:Thank you very kindly. |
malkinburg:Thanks a lot. I'd be leaving in February as well, wouldn't mind a connect for accomodation purposes. |
I just got my Australian visa to study at UNSW. I have been a silent observer of this thread though and I really appreciate the valuable information you all have contributed. I would please like to know if anyone is heading to Sydney in February because I'd really love to make arrangements for accommodation. |
koolnonie: Want to apply for llm in enivronmental law there.did u do urs through an agent?I replied your PM. But I think I misdirected myself as to the author, sorry about that. Yes, I used an agent. However, I'm not at liberty to mention them on NL. Send me a mail if you wish to know the agent otherwise, we can discuss anything else here on NL. Cheers. |
Domwise: Good to know you will be heading to UNSW; We'll catch up when you land. My course is 1.5yrs, and I have plans of getting pr too but it's not a "do or die affair" because I'm much more interested in getting oversea job(maybe in Canada, or U.S.A) than getting pr here.Thank you very kindly for the tips, I'll sure keep them in hand. Ordinarily, I should be going for a PhD, because I already done a Masters in the UK, but my grades aren't spectacular (just a second Class without merit). You see, that's why I'm gunning for a PR - I don't want to spend all that money and just come back home again. Anyway, what course are you studying for, and is it a research masters? P.S: I dont think you can get a 485 by combining two different courses to amount to 2yrs. What I understand is you need to have studied a course with a 2yr or a minimum of 16 months duration in Australia, to qualify. |
tblackE61: Thks bro!! Really appreciate pls do u know any thing about cable visa? I had australia don't issue visa here in Nigeria dey issue it at d point of entry pls pal how true is this? Not at this time, No. But I guess your questions have been sufficiently answered here. Cheers. |
Domwise: It's so unfortunate I have not been able toI got admission for Masters in Law at UNSW but it is not until February (I think). It is a 1yr study course and this has got me worried - I'm looking at getting PR after my studies. How long is your course and are you aiming at getting PR? |
I got admitted to UNSW Masters Law, duration: 1 year. What are my chances of getting PR after studies? By the way, has anyone here been assessed as a Barrister or Solicitor for the 189? I would please really want to know what processes are involved. Thanks. |
Ch1KeLu: SHELL has not collapsed. They recently bumped their Entry Level salary package.Sure, you got a point. I think he was speaking for himself and others who were getting depressed (if you consider the atmosphere of the thread at that time, there was a bitter war between Opoks and Kuwena). I'm not exactly sure but I think his points about SHELL was bang on the money in 2008 (Yar'Adua was still trying to get a handle on the militancy palaver disrupting oil activities) By and large, a fine point of his exhortation is that NLNG is not the be-all and end-all ... he's learnt otherwise. Just what I make of his post. |
Just stumbled on a post from the 2007 NLNG thread. I think it was Belewu's reply to Kuwena's aethistic creed ... calls for deep reflection ![]() Belewu:P. S.: By the way, this is not a response to those who secured scholarships. Concerning that, I totally agree with the suggestions on this thread; if you've got something in hand, run with it till the next thing materializes. Peace. |
ikenna58: Erza hon, u are the treasure that I seek, u were close to me yet I did not know; the love that I seek for many years was right beside me yet I couldn't see it!Erm ... Oga Ikenna, abeg quit bickering and get back to stirring this your love stew before the thing cold I bet you don't need Maggi because this your magic potion na faya ... ![]() |

Dfavouredone: There was this beggar who was passing by a posh street. He sighted a man who appeared well off. The man was washing a lovely automobile, which gave further credence to his being wealthy. The beggar walked slowly up to him. As the beggar approached, the man began to feel apprehensive. He thought the beggar was going to be a nuisance by asking him for money. And he dreaded such a nuisance value, but took it forgranted that he was going to have to bear it. However, when the beggar drew close up to him, instead of asking for money, the beggar politely and confidently - without the slightest dint of shyness or trepidation - began to engage the man in a more or less intellectual conversation. The man thoroughly enjoyed the company of the beggar and was pleasantly surprised at his level of understanding of life. When the beggar declared it was time for him to go, the man missed him already and was forced to ask, 'But don't you need help?' Instead of the usual, 'Please, help me, for I do need help,' the beggar simply reiterated, 'Don't we all need help?' The man ended up giving him much more than he had initially intended to.I think I've read this before on the 2007 NLNG thread and I guess it was written by Kuwena ![]() |
majekdom2: you were called to bar seven years back, how old were you then ... 20 - 21 . I should know how old you were when you got admitted into the uni before I assume you have a computer age .well , except you are not in Nigeria. Sadly , a requirement is your NYSC discharge.Lemme see 2007-1984= 23yrs at call to bar 2000-1984= 16yrs at matriculation You see, I was born in one of those funny months (November) where your birth-year mates are 30 and you are still 29. But just soon as you clock 30, they become 31 and you might just have to wait almost a year to catch up again ![]() Now this was my luck: the NLNG advertorial required applicants to be not more than 28 at the date of its publication. The paper was published on October 26 (or thereabouts) and I was still 28, although I clocked 29 about a week later on November 6. You see bros, dis na my last chance at GT recruitment ![]() |
majekdom2: Bro , @ those comments .. Na naija u dey , expect anything . I would advice you focus on getting good grades and make your 2 1 first before starting to practice gmat or shl .. I don't think its a shl and gmat with your course loads would be a good combination. Well , you really want a career in this industry ? Work properly on your final year project work .. Who knows , it might break you into the industry .. I know peeps who are in these companies cause of researches they had with these companies. All said bro , its a competitive market out there . If NLNG is to follow this same trend , I don't think your age in 7 years time would make you eligible for this position , I was in my first year the last time this was done. You can look into other companies. The truth has always been said , if you are good you are good ... All you need do is pray for God's grace with your preparations. I ll advice you do proper networking .I guess he might still stand a chance. I, for one, graduated from Law School and was called to bar the year the last GT recruitment was done. Luckily, I narrowly qualified for this latest recruitment. Never say never. |
See all the addicts are back ![]() My name is nrd_geek and I'm a Nairaland addict ... hehehe! |
Holy Smokes! I didn't realize I was this addicted to NL. Just one week without access and I almost lost my marbles ![]() Welcome back Nairaland |
Anyone can sue anytime they so wish. However, winning a case or having it struck out is a different matter. Like all legal suits, so much depends on the circumstances of the case and the quality of lawyers you hire. Hire very intelligent lawyers and you could convince a jury or court that you not only have a valid case but you could also win. Every case is decided on it's own merits. Believe me, I'm a lawyer. ![]() |
Here's what I use at the moment: Encounter from Calvin Klein (Spicy with a bit of woody smell. It's got excellent sillage. Scent lasts for 24hrs on body and almost a week on clothe) a send forth gift from my shitty job at Subway. Azzaro Pour Homme from Azzaro (A spicy masculine perfume. Described as an 80s power house.) Got it for 20GBP in a sale at The perfumeshop. Cigar from Remy Latour (A woody perfume. Gives you that tobacco-leather-musky smell like you just come out of a club filled with gentlemen smoking on Cuban cigars) I've always had a spare bottle since my undergraduate days. Essential from Lacoste (Fresh, summer, green-fruity scent.) A birthday gift from an ex.
