Agbalowomeri: Only people who lose an intellectual engagement and are unable to articulate clear alternatives, resort to personal attacks
Time will vindicate or vilify all policies Politics, like faith, makes people sentimental and dangerously emotional. |

Problem with these political rejoinders is that instead of focusing on political strategies and policies of the politicians/government, we would soon start personal attacks. |

ndept: Please be fair to those pointing out stock. It is not their obligation to tell you when to sell. You are the one that knows how much you bought and should be able to determine your target and when to exit. I come in peace o. Okay sir What I am asking Mega is different though. |

mikeapollo: I am talking about international currency clearing systems with global banks like HSBC, Deutsche Bank, JPMorgan Chase, Wells Fargo & Co. (WFC) & Co. etc. Nigerian banks should be able to transact with them using the prevalent rates. I suppose they just need authorization and a gateway for that to happen. |

Sunrisepebble: Surely this will even make matters worse? Why should expats be paid in Naira? Assuming the bill becomes law, they will just take their naira salaries and run back to the black market to convert it to USD, heaping more demand on the rate Is it not possible for them to change naira to their own currencies in their countries? It comes down to the instability of naira. If the value is the same everywhere and every time, everyone would be cool to accept it. No? |
Investment › Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by NSEstudent: 2:34pm On Dec 17, 2024 |
Agbalowomeri: They get paid the naira equivalent. I really don't know whether any country exist that operates a dom account system for foreign currencies?
Dom accounts are an anomaly sincerely It is the reliance on dollars that apparently necessitated DOM accounts. If everything will be done in naira, that would be nice. The reason we prefer getting paid and saving in dollars is obvious - naira is very unstable. |
Investment › Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by NSEstudent: 2:10pm On Dec 17, 2024 |
mikeapollo: It is a good idea but the usefulness or practicability may be limited because the naira is not a convertible currency in the international markets. How would you pay for imports and online purchases if they outlaw domiciliary accounts. Stop going too far. Nigeria is not China or Russia As for paying for imports, AliExpress and its senior bro, AliBaba are apparently accepting naira via Opay and Globus respectively. Not a problem. But how would Nigerians in Nigeria get paid by foreign companies? We will resort to opening foreign accounts and receiving those funds in dollars, only converting when we want to spend. |

Agbalowomeri: It will work
That provides a legal ground for prosecution
I expect dom accounts to be outlawed by the same bill If DOM accounts are outlawed, what happens to folks working abroad while in Nigeria? |

toyeoye: Thank you for your suggestion! Currently, the table is sorted based on stocks with the highest performance, which provides quick access to the top movers and losers in the market. However, I'm working on implementing a sorting functionality that will allow users to customize the view, including alphabetical sorting (A-Z or Z-A), price, percentage performance (daily, weekly, etc.), trading volume, and value traded. This will make it easier to locate stocks based on individual preferences while enhancing the overall user experience. Your feedback is invaluable 🙏 Did you contact NGX for access to the API? Was it free? I noticed when you first posted it that the prices in the portal lag the real time data like those seen in Morgan Capital's iTrade platform. Have you or anyone else noticed that too? If not, then it might be a slow network on my side. Either way, you're doing well. |

ositadima1: Lol, it is of no use to you. You'd better keep to collecting picks or what Streetinvestor calls the sheep crowd. If it was in your nature, you would have started doing it already. It is not easy and requires a lot of boring work and dedication. Well, I am not particularly a novice. When I entered UAC on BBM's call, I had to review his charts too. I learnt to interpret candlesticks from Steve Nison's "Japanese Candlestick Charting Techniques". But it never hurts to pick one's superiors' brains and thought processes on some of these things. Oga CP is good and yea, I would like to learn from him. |
