PoliticsRe: Police Set To Restore Tambuwal’s Security Aides by nuclearboy(m): 5:27pm On Oct 31, 2014
This action will "feed-back" against the president. This is because no sensible person believes the IGP would dare to do such without a direct order from the Presidency.

So blame will be apportioned to the President! Then he and the Okupes and e-warriors will say people are insulting him! Yet what do you expect after such an unreasonable action?

This president needs mature , thinking people who he respects and will listen to, around him, not these that are making him look bad and shallow

When I read that news, first that struck me was "isn't it this same HOR that will confirm the IG?"

Nigeria - so SO confused a nation. Because this means a Commissioner of police can arrest the same IG if he later annoys the presidency.

Today, my greatest wish for Nigeria is that a demon would lead BH on a rampage towards Abuja! I wish they's be able to shoot and seriously injure (not kill) 2 or 3 senators and maybe 3 generals too. If possible, seize (kidnap) the much-loved wife of one of these as well and use as a Sx-slave. Let them too know what life must have become for the poor people of the NE.

Maybe they will then force Jonathan to do what he SWORE whenhe took his oath of office

So angry yet there are people asking for 4 more years of this

So, what if post presidency, whoever is in govt withdraws your own security detail THEN sponsors a group of traffic wardens to give you (or even worse, madam P) the beating of your life?

People should always think issues through! No matter the reason, you shouldn't disrespect the office of the Speaker! Its just too close to your own office and all you are doing is demystifying your seat and position.

People like Okupe ought have sdviced against this! It will do nothing but worsenthings and increase your enemies as now, the speaker will also now be thinking of where to hit back at!

Very wrong move

No need to advice them. They already are as evidenced by the idiotic withdrawal of his security, which simply creates a dangerous precedent (GEJ'S security as a former head of state can be withdrawn in the future and he will have no moral right to demand it) and the quick noise that it means nothing to them (why react if it means nothing)

First of all, when they say we were producing 1.82 Million barrels daily, it doesn't mean we did that every single day. Just as $18 per barrel doesn't mean that is the exact amount we sold each single day through the year. One would expect that we are somewhat educated to be on social media

So please first, start by throwing out your math deductions.

Nigeria's TOTAL OIL income (according to records) for 1977 was 6,080.6 million (http://www.academia.edu/222415/NIGERIAN_BUDGETING_PROCESS_AND_THE_MAGNITUDE_OF_BUDGET_VARIANCES). At this time (between 1974 and 1979), Nigeria's share of the income was 55%. Please note this is OIL income as total Federal income was 7,791,000 million.

This 55% was shared by Federal, State, LGs and reserves

Do the math to know how the federal govt didn't earn 17 billion or such like. Then the govt also had reserves they put money into too. It was the "balance" after all the above and projections of income for the incoming year and projected expenditures that helped determine the budget for the next year.

To confirm anyway, in his 1967-77 budget speech, General Obasanjo stated, that "while government revenue for the 1975-76 fiscal year was 3.9 billion (TOTAL and including non oil income), recurrent and capital expenditures totaled 4.8 billion". (Nigeria: The politics of adjustment and democracy - By Julius Omozuanvbo Ihonvbere. page 22). This was Federal Revenue.

To illustrate, Nigeria's current budget is approx 5 Trillion. Is that our total income?

I am searching for verifiable links (just as the above) to defend the figure I put up for Nigeria's 1977 budget. Until I find such and present it (to the "source addicts"wink, let me beg your indulgence.

It is however instructive that this case has been investigated over and over and nothing has been found to it. Any banker will tell you too that nobody accepts 2.8Billion Naira - the "rent" on such amount (interest etc) will kill the bank

Let us be sincere - the 2.8billion Dollar case was in 1977. Nigeria's budget was 1.1 billion - how does one "minister" steal 3 years budget?

I that year, Saudi Arabia did not earn 2 billion dollars so how does Nigeria have such. Even 1984 (6+ years AFTER), Nigeria paid just 50 Million Dollars as TOTAL ANNUAL debt.

Let us stop ridiculing ourselves by behaving as if our brains are leaking with these daft stories

Abacha resurrected.

Youth Earnestly Ask for Abacha = Transformational Ambassadors of Nigeria
Uniformed in goggles (I can do anything I want = I don't give a damn)
Both "regimes" had multiple killings (assassinations vs insurgency)
Both used SSS/DSS as personal machinery (One to kill, the other to intimidate [Sule Lamido comes to mind])
Both wanted NO competition
BOTH insisted that without one man, Nigeria would fall and threatened every dissenting voice
Both had military support and political support from mostly one ethnic group and took everyone else as enemies
BOTH turned Aso Rock into a haunt for spiritualists, marabouts and cultists forgetting ONLY God gives power

....... ..... ...

Lets see how this one will end to see if there will be more similarities

PoliticsRe: Calling Christians To Vote For Buhari In 2015 by nuclearboy(m): 1:36pm On Oct 21, 2014
WinsomeX:
The article in the OP should actually engender a healthy debate among Nigerians and this response from PastorKun is very welcome. Hopefully as we rub minds on the matter, our mindsets will change and we can all make informed decisions before casting out vote in 2015 and not vote on religious or ethnic sentiments. So thank you PastorKun for the detailed critique of the OP but permit me a rejoinder here. I will start with your last statement.

Sir, while you will have us believe that Buhari is not our messiah, you also will not recommend Jonathan. So what do we do? The OP clearly showed that the political indices are veering towards three individuals Jonathan, Atiku, and Buhari. Whatever our prejudices are against these fellows, we must choose one of them. The OP is simply making a case for the best of the lot. Truth is that most Nigerians will wish some other individuals will run for this exalted office. But as the case is, these are the options we have. It is on this premise, I believe, that the OP is making the case for Buhari.

I do not believe Buhari's qualities are overrated. In fact I think they are underrated. He was serving Nigeria faithfully in Borno state when IBB and his Boys overthrew Shagari. He was called to head the govt as the most senior officer. When he blocked means for the boys to be enrich themselves, IBB told him the boys are complaining. Buhari told him if they were unhappy with his rein on corruption they could have their govt. He was overthrown two weeks later. Outside this, most other commentaries on his private and public life are excellent. A colleague in my office who served in the NYSC with Buhari's daughter said that she kept her identity hidden. The soldiers later learnt who she was and were going to give her a private room. She refused it, Saying her father must not learn of it. My elder brother who lives close to one of Buhari's nephew home told us the story of how the young man, also named Muhhamadu Buhari, went around govt offices collecting contract using his uncle's name. When Buhari learnt of it, he ensured he returned each kobo and got him a legitimate job to do. The stories on this man abound and others can testify here too. So it is not overrated at all.

It is public knowledge how Buhari finances his campaigns. He alluded to this when he spoke of having to pay for the nomination form. He complained the cost was to high but said that he usually ensures he buys those forms himself. It betrays the fact that all other funds spent on the campaign come from people's good will. But his integrity will not allow him collect money from friends for the forms. He usually ensures he pays that himself.

On his political associates, I believe this reference is to Tinubu. The OP also answered that question in the last few paragraphs. Politics is a game of numbers. The more, the merrier. So a political party will consist of the good the bad and the ugly. A govt is different. The spirit and direction of a govt is usually that of the head. Buhari will certainly prevail over the corrupt elements in his party. As Christians we should pray that he does.

Again, here is an untrue statement. Buhari as head of state, military Commander and politician has shown to be an individual that is not driven by primordial tribal or religious mindsets. His detractors have continued to use it against him and have never been able to prove it. It's the usual practice in politics to give a dog a bad name so as to hang it. I might have to request that you provide the statements he made that made you conclude this on him or I will have to believe that you have taken this position from hearsay alone, like most Nigerians, and not from your own investigations.

Again we have another set of unsubstantiated claims here.

The success of Idiagbon are Buhari's successes bc he was his boss. Same as his failures would have been blamed on him.

On the suitcase saga, no such thing happened. Prof Tam David West, a man who worked closely with Buhari in those days, had explained many times that those stories were manufactured by his detractors. No one till date has provided proof that it happed bc it didn't.

On PTF, every region and state in this country had PTF projects. Contracts were awarded fairly and contractors duely paid. OBJ govt investigated Buhari's time at PTF and found nothing on him.

As for his opinion on Abacha. The man was his boss at the time. I cannot see him criticizing him. In 2011, its on records however that Buhari's party, CPC, distanced themselves from Abacha son, who was vying to rum on that platform.

The killings in the north after the election was two ways: Christians and Muslim were killed. There were many Muslim villages destroyed. Buhari should not be blamed for this. Rather, the govt of Jonathan, which lacked foresight because it was blinded by its rigging machinery that it didn't know that there was a potential for reprisals. It is this same lack of foresight we are still suffering from as a nation.

We have the choice of choosing the good or the better; or the bad or the worse. It is obvious which one we should choose. If you think Jonathan is good, is it not obvious that Buhari is better? If you think Buhari is bad, don't you see that Jonathan is worse?

I will love to read your response to this PastorKun.
He's a personal friend and I promise you he will NOT respond (at least not coherently). He will retort with sweeping grandiose condemnation statements like "he is a relic" etc...... and it is so sad!

People forget you cannot vote for someone who isn't on the ballot and thus, the choice is limited to Buhari versus Jonathan. Moving along, I will show you how unreasonable hatred can make the otherwise "educated"

Nigerias' total annual budget in 1977, was 1.1 Billion naira. At this time, a Dollar exchanged for 79 kobo (Naira was Stronger). It was in the same year Kunle insists Buhari stole 2.8billion. Interestingly, even Saudi Arabia didn't earn 2 billion dollars in 1977. But Kunle insists 2.8 billion was stolen. Further, Nigerias total debt payment under same Buhari in 1984 when he was Head of State, was 50 million dollars!!!! So Buhari stole 3 budgets of Nigeria, according to "Pastor-Kun", at a time when we were paying 50 million Dollars as annual debt.

See how hatred can make one look foolish? Yet let him return here and unable to stand against these, he will ignore and move to 53 suitcases. After that, to Islam..... and then to the execution of 3 drug pushers and finally "he is old" and "knows nothing about computers in 2014".

So I advice you to not hold your breath expecting a decent rubbing of minds. It's like you telling Shekau to allow Oby Ezekwesili to teach him about decency - DOA.

But at least, his hatred (though a "Christian"wink may have served a purpose - one or two thinking people will read this post and know the truth about the 2.8 billion Dollar lie.

PoliticsRe: Muazu Hands Over Jonathan’s Critics To God by nuclearboy(m): 4:49pm On Oct 20, 2014
What Muazu doesn't realize is that the blood of thousands of innocent Nigerian's who have died under his master's watch, are also crying out to God.

They gave one man the presidency, control of the armed forces, the finances of the country and the power it has - so that they'd be safe, prosper and watch their children grow and carry on their names. Rather, they saw their kids blood stain the ground. They were told by presidential mouthpieces that their children were not missing. Only after a 17 year old spoke to him did acceptance come that we had a problem.

Yet the FIRST function of government is the security of these people. So let's truly hand everyone over to God - those who swore to us but refuse to accept responsibility and those who think young girls spending half a year in the hands of murderous terrorists isn't something to praise govt for and so, criticize and ask for better

Nice read I must say and let me commend the sense of maturity here.
@Topic: really I have thought of this severally and now know why there have been serious debates on this issus in the ND region lately, involving volunteers from the Learned, skilled and Professionals.
I don't think the new MEND will wage a war against the NA, it'll be against Oil and Gas Production, the IOCs know this and that's why they have been selling off their assets on lands, creeks and canals to relocate to deep waters. The strategy would be so easy; it takes several months and several millions of dollars to set up one well head, and just less that 5 seconds and a few nairas to blow with: so really I wouldn't want to go that line with MEND - they'll win the war against the economy if they want to in a very short time. And except the millitary would be operating the oil assets, I see no right-thinking Oil coy that will send her staffs to a "war zone" where ur facilities are threatened.
I laugh at most of the comments here cos most guys are based abroad.
It's general knowledge that the BH menace is to discredit GEJ's administration, so don't expect the ND not to do theirs if the table of leadership turns and this time will be felt by many.
Concequences of Change I must say, a huge price. But what are we changing from and into by the way? It's not as if the opposition is any better (talking about the devil you know).
Why am I even saying all these, @OP, these can't be prophesies, they are emerging realities on ground should GEJ not return for a second term.
Not that all NDs like him, but he is prefered there to any 'parasite'.
The 'owners' and 'holders' of Nigeria know this and that's why GEJ must return in 2015.
You can bookmark this page.
Boko Haram precedes GEJs govt, so is NOT to discredit him. Why it spiraled out of control is the way it was handled

5 million people calling 170 Million people "parasites" is a major part of why your GEJ has a problem today
