Chatters: You are fidgeting unnecessarily. This tuition or no tuition issue has been discussed to death. You should count yourself lucky you were not asked to pay. Many are itching to be in your position. Why are you creating needless tension? If you have money to spend while taking your chill pil, go ahead and pay. The problem here is too much information which can sometimes lead to misinformation. Do whatever you must but please don't create tension and misinform in the process. At least we owe this to future members of this forum.

GboyegaD: It isn't a straight jacket thing and I don't think it is peculiar to schools. What applies to A need necessarily not apply to B as such, there is no need to start deciphering what may not always be. Besides, schools don't have the power to influence the outcome of visa application as such, whether or not they accept payment on or before arrival doesn't change things.
Regarding my tone, I am very sorry if it seem harsh however, I feel there is no need to keep emphasizing on same point as everyone else have said you should act based on instruction.
Lastly, the requirement of CDHC to pay tuition with Medical doesn't necessarily guarantee issuance of TRV hence, the major thing is hoping on God to see you through the whole process and grant the desires of your heart.

Nuendo: How far i sent you a reply via mail. we need to coordinate our actions as per Uni of Calgary. I wanna email my ADMISSIONS officer to ask whether its in their policy not to accept fees before TRV.

GboyegaD: If you feel so pressured about paying school fees, then go ahead to pay rather than creating unnecessary panic for posters that will read this thread in the future.

I applied on 2nd of April,called for meds 29th May, did meds 4th of June submitted
additional docs on 2nd of July.Please help me thank God for his graces and mercies.

Onye oma: Which ever way it goes, I pray that all the forumites that have been called for medicals without being asked to pay for tuition (hence,didn't pay) receive their TRV soonest...every other categories of TRV awaitees inclusive.

Onye oma: My people, let's reason this case logically...the following is my reason on why CDHC asks the applicant to pay tuition fee:
-Committment to the reason of ur coming into Canada

Has it ever crossed anyone's mind that if Mr A gets his visa without paying his tuition fee, he can reach Canada and decide to start up something else
N/B: Schools do not refund unless you give them concrete reasons for refund such as getting an admission with another school (cos they invited you to Canada,and any if anything goes wrong,they'll be accountable)

I don't feel financial capability is a reason cos they've already ascertained one's status while processing the documents.

Based on the points above, I feel tuition fee payment after being called for medicals is a pre-requisite for obtaining visa.

I've never seen anyone that was issued a TRV since part 1 of this thread without paying his/her tuition fee except the person is on scholarship (I stand to be corrected if am wrong).

Its way too risky to take any chance @ dis stage of ur application process...

But if @ d end of the day,it is proved otherwise, then it can adopted ßuђ before then,don't be the 1st to try it ooo,let others that don't know abt this thread try it out 1st.

dotman: I have you picked up your envelope with vfs that contains your passport? Usually the tuition instruction comes with it and if not there, then ur not expected to make the payment yet

Nuendo: GOOD PEOPLE OF THE HOUSE,

I AM HEADING TO THE CDHC TODAY TO NOTIFY THEM THAT I AM YET TO RECEIVE MY PACKAGE AT VAC/VFS DESPITE BEING SENT A MEDICAL INSTRUCTION VIA EMAIL FROM THE CDHC.

I WAS AT THE VAC OREGUN YESTERDAY AND I WAS TOLD THAT MY PACKAGE HADN'T BEEN SENT YET TO THEM FROM CDHC. AS HAYEK RECOMMENDED AFTER HIS OWN VISIT TO THE CDHC, PRO-ACTIVENESS IS VERY IMPORTANT NOW , IF NOT FOR ANYTHING, TO AT LEAST BE ASSURED THAT ONE IS ON THE RIGHT TRACK.

I INTEND TO ASK IF I COULD GO AHEAD WITH MY MEDICALS WITH ANY OTHER MEANS OF IDENTIFICATION AND ALSO REMIND THEM THAT I AM YET TO GET INSTRUCTIONS REGARDING TUITION AND BOARD.

I PRAY TO THE LORD THAT MY QUEST TODAY SHALL YIELD POSITIVE RESULTS. GOOD LUCKTO THOSE STILL AWIAITING MEDICALS AND ALL OTHERS AWAITING THE TRV. I WOULD LET THE HOUSE KNOW ABOUT MY ORDEAL TODAY.

olutimi1: My little advice- I think u shd wait for VFS cos for all you know there may be further instructions from CDHC.My experience with VFS has however taught me they could be a litle lax in their updating of tracking info. In my own case, my status changed on their site, but they forgot my med instructions envelope at CDHC as such my meds was delayed for a further period of two days.

I suggest you do not wait for your status to change, just go and meet them to get a definite answer and if the officers at the counter are evasive, please demand to speak to one of their indian ogas.

seunlovesa: how long does it take a Registered mail from Canada to get to Nigeria? Got an admission at Brandon university for winter 2014 and a letter of acceptance was sent on 11/7/2013. i tracked it on canadapost.ca and all i can see up till now is that the mail left canada (via VILLE ST-LAURENT in Quebec )on 15/7/2013. need my letter fast so that i can lodge my application ASAP

Nuendo: They haven't requested any fee and board from me. Which makes it all the more strange. I think i should juts go ahead and do the medicals to avoid delay in that department.

I'll check on VFS dis afternoon first if no reply by then, then I'll do the medics tomorrow mrn like that.

Problem is: the hosp i consulted (THE Children's Practice and Consultants, Raymond Njoku, Ikoyi) insist on original passport. Don't know how to go about this.

GboyegaD: I feel you are getting yourself so worked up. Take the chill pill and relax a bit. Someone already told you that you can do it with an original copy of a valid means of id thus, it isn't compulsory that the only hospital you can use is the one in Ikoyi.

uchi4jah: I did my medicals without passport. All you need is a valid recognized ID card. That's what I used. Then for the fee and board stuff, they requested one year tuition and board but my sponsor emailed them and that was it. When I emailed to know my status, they said all is well and that my file is under processing. That do do not need any additional thing from me. So I'm patiently waiting for my TRV.

Meanwhile I have got a class that starts today in Canada. I have gotten the material the prof shared for us and I can follow up anything even from here. Not ready to cancel the class, at least not now

frederal: I got email first, after about 24hrs +, I noticed that my vfs account changed, then they sent my a mail too, letting me know I have an instruction in their office. I'm going there today, came all the way from east.

Aduke02: Many congratulations!!! I got only the medical instructions myself. Since they didn't ask for any other thing, don't bother urself. If and when they need additional documents, they'll ask for them. Congrats again n where r u headed to?

Nuendo: Please has your VFS status changed?? I received my email from CIC on saturday and up till now ,am still getting that frozen status of " still being processed" from VFS . I am planning to go to their office tomorrow just in case the person in charge of updating the change of status at VFS is being careless with people's lives........I DON'T TRUST ANYTH NAIJA AT ALL....

Advice anyone pls. I have a very tight schedule. Less than 5 weeks till resumption. Thanks.

frederal: Its not late yet; I submitted April 23rd, got call for medical just last week. Believe in God strongly.
