As a TRV awaitee having concluded my medicals on the 25th and resubmitted my passport on the 27th of My, I would like to shed light on some things which have been unconfirmed for some time now in this forum. The following conclusion is based on inquiry from CDHC and the hospitals carrying out the medicals. 1. ALL MEDICALS ARE FORWARDED TO FRANCE AFTER BEING CARRIED OUT HERE 2. THE PROCESSING TIM IN FRANCE RANGES FROM 2weeks and above. 3. IF NOT ASKED TO PAY TUITION, THE MEDICAL STAGE IS INDEED 80% LINE BETWEEN YOU AND YOUR TRV : as we were told after inquiry at CDHC that it was the medicals that was the only thing left to approve the visa. Congrats to all those who have been issued their visas. Good luck to all the awaitees and medical hopefuls. For those who have been rejected, it isn't the end of the world, take advantage of the online means of application (2months + processing time) and repackage and reapply. Be a fighter. To all the silent followers of the forum, dont hesitate to share your views and opinions here on the forum and most importantly questions. Don't be a silent follower till only wen kasala don burst. There is nothing wrong with running a cross check of your docs before submission here for the more experienced members of the house to comment. For all you may know, this forum may actually be stronger than the greater percentage of agencies out there. God bless and happy weekend. |

When i raised up the issue and asked us to look into some underlying reasons, I was almost crucified here for "causing so much panic" by some people.. Now can say with proof that about 4-5 U of Calgary prospective students weren't asked to pay for tuition or board. This my people, is a pattern. The CDHC may have a very strong communication with certain schools. However, I still think the closing balance and proof of financial worthiness still places the most part in sucess of the application. . deebla: 1 Like |

Am headed for Calgary too. Meds done and TRV expected too. I and Smile13 (see his profile) are already trying to make accommodation arrangements off campus, heard its far cheaper and still not far from the school at all. When did you do your medicals, and was it paper or online route?? Have u paid your fees? We U of C dudes could team up and make things cheaper for ourselves. May save us a lot of money. dict4alpha: |

My broda, I was in the same situation, there is no need to panic. Ur status would change between now and Friday. U need the passport to do the medicals. relax. About the fees, well, i wasn't instructed to pay and i have paid nothing till now, although i have resubmitted my passport, i intend to just get the payment done with next week. If u can do the payment go ahead, if not the house has advised to stick with CDHC instructions. rexxy09: PLEASE I NEED SOME ADVISE. I GOT MEDICAL CALL UP YESTERDAY 30TH JULY VIA EMAIL FROM CIC. BUT MY STATUS AT VAC STILL HAVE NOT CHANGED. IT STATES "Visa application, tracking ID No.*******CALASTU***** is being processed at the Canada Visa Office, Lagos. To know more, please call VAC helpline number or visit VAC website" |

Onye oma: GboyegaD: Are you now a CDHC official? Let people do according to what they are instructed to and stop creating unnecessary panic in people. Onye oma: I feel there is no harm in sharing information. MR ONYE_OMA is just informing us based on what he heard/dreamt.. Where i feel he is still leaving a loop hole is the mention of the source of info. Despite his claim that it was inspired by a "dream" i still feel it quite deeper than that. I recall him stating it was from a reliable source initially before changing to the dream issue. while he may be saying the truth, i felt he should have been more serious about his source. Many pl have made references to verified souces of information , agents and immigration lawyers etc without mentioning names or any info that could be directly attributed to a particular person. Please Onye Oma, if your source is very legit, why not let us know, at least individuals would know your are not speculating and giving advice off a dream. You dont need to mention the specific name plus i believe we are all adults here.......we are here to help each other. meanwhile, I have done my medicals (25th July) and resubmitted my docs on the 27th July. I decided to stick to CDHC's instructions and NOT pay the tuition. I hope this would eventually work out in my own interest. Amen. Good Luck to the other awaitees. |

Well, your expectations would be very difficult to achieve. Scholarships are given particularly to individuals who have shown strong academic credentials in their previous education and this is most accurately reflected in the cgpa of such an individual. The university system isn't a charity organization and they only give you the scholarship with the hope of you continuing such academic excellence within their institution which eventually becomes their gain when your research or further studies add to the faculty of knowledge in the specific field. Other scholarships and grants may be given by specific NGO's or Alumni Bodies and 90% of them are still based on merit. SUMMARY: It would be very difficult for you to get both a masters program and a scholarship in the same package with a 2.2 POSSIBLE SOLUTIONS: 1. Find a school that accepts 2.2 directly for the masters and PAY THE TUITION but make sure it isn't a "lessin" as oga Siga would refer it. You don't wanna spend all the time and money to end up having a degree that would turn to a disadvantage later. 2. Seek admission into a PGD program instead and utilize the second missionary journey to make excellent grades that prove you as worthy of a scholarship in the masters . NB: This is of course if your intent of the scholarship is academically genuine and that the scholarship / masters aren't just an economical means of "cutting out" of naija. FROM WHAT I KNOW, THE REST OF THE WORLD ISN'T NAIJA, MERIT COUNTS. IF YOU WANT IT , YOU MUST PROVE YOURSELF. #My 2-Cents. God Bless. Uzor Steve: 1 Like |
