my brother, i just told you what i confirmed from CDHC direct and the hospital (consultant's practice)
kjbobo:
You STILL BELIEVE this France story?? Its not true...It only has a measure of truth for those pursuing PR and federal skilled workers programme....a doctor friend did his medicals on the 1st of May....and was told the route of the results...Nothing done there is getting to France....think about it...Your details are ready for approval...someone isnt just doing what he or she ought to be doing per time!
Besides, I called consultant practice and the Lady told me my results have been sent to CDHC (within 4 days).I even asked the radiographer questions on who interprets our results like the chest x-ray and she gave me details of the doc (the doc is in naija!). I am resuming upper Monday. ..so I have decided that I will storm embassy latest Thursday....and I believe I will pick my TRV..if you are close enough and dont have that much time..I will advise you do the same.
My friend left for Canny last sunday...while preparing...He met the son of a "strong man"...the guy got his TRV in two weeks (from date of submission to medicals to TRV).
And the guy made some staggering statements (which arent for pub consumption).
So Nuendo, If you can, storm the embassy next week (that's if u arnt called today sef) and go pick your TRV!

As a TRV awaitee having concluded my medicals on the 25th and resubmitted my passport on the 27th of My, I would like to shed light on some things which have been unconfirmed for some time now in this forum. The following conclusion is based on inquiry from CDHC and the hospitals carrying out the medicals.

1. ALL MEDICALS ARE FORWARDED TO FRANCE AFTER BEING CARRIED OUT HERE
2. THE PROCESSING TIM IN FRANCE RANGES FROM 2weeks and above.
3. IF NOT ASKED TO PAY TUITION, THE MEDICAL STAGE IS INDEED 80% LINE BETWEEN YOU AND YOUR TRV : as we were told after inquiry at CDHC that it was the medicals that was the only thing left to approve the visa.

Congrats to all those who have been issued their visas. Good luck to all the awaitees and medical hopefuls. For those who have been rejected, it isn't the end of the world, take advantage of the online means of application (2months + processing time) and repackage and reapply. Be a fighter.

To all the silent followers of the forum, dont hesitate to share your views and opinions here on the forum and most importantly questions. Don't be a silent follower till only wen kasala don burst. There is nothing wrong with running a cross check of your docs before submission here for the more experienced members of the house to comment. For all you may know, this forum may actually be stronger than the greater percentage of agencies out there.

God bless and happy weekend.

You may be closer to the truth my broda. besides, I sent you a mail. Please reply.
dict4alpha:

Very well said. Also, I think the higher a school ranks, the more confident the VO is that you really intend to go and study, especially when you are funded. Check out the case of Aduke02.
Travel / Re: Travelling To Canada Part 4 by Nuendo: 8:44am On Aug 13, 2013
When i raised up the issue and asked us to look into some underlying reasons, I was almost crucified here for "causing so much panic" by some people.. Now can say with proof that about 4-5 U of Calgary prospective students weren't asked to pay for tuition or board. This my people, is a pattern. The CDHC may have a very strong communication with certain schools. However, I still think the closing balance and proof of financial worthiness still places the most part in sucess of the application.

.
deebla:

Congrats bro... This is a proof that if CDHC doesn't instruct one for tuition and board, they know what they are doing and its not a mistake.

Btw... This application is too fast, under 2months

Am headed for Calgary too. Meds done and TRV expected too. I and Smile13 (see his profile) are already trying to make accommodation arrangements off campus, heard its far cheaper and still not far from the school at all. When did you do your medicals, and was it paper or online route?? Have u paid your fees? We U of C dudes could team up and make things cheaper for ourselves. May save us a lot of money.

dict4alpha:

I'm headed to Calgary (PG) and been trying to make arrangements for accommodation. I've been put on the waitlist for school residence, but would prefer off campus housing as this may be cheaper. Please, are you able to assist in terms of linking me up to secure housing outside the campus? I'd really be grateful for any help your can render. (STATUS: Meds done, TRV expected.) Many, many thanks.

cdhc don dey change parade oh.......which one be explanatory notes....lol
Shadams:

@All. Good morning. I got my medical instructions from VAC yesterday. I have been asked to proceed to medicals indeed. HOWEVER, the pack also contains an instruction asking me to submit within 30 days "explanatory notes" on my plans for funding in my subsequent years, since the funding letter I submitted covers only first year. It is a Graduate Teaching Fellowship whose subsequent renewal is based on satisfactory performance in my first year. Is there a cause for panic? What do I do? Thanks.

My broda, I was in the same situation, there is no need to panic. Ur status would change between now and Friday. U need the passport to do the medicals. relax. About the fees, well, i wasn't instructed to pay and i have paid nothing till now, although i have resubmitted my passport, i intend to just get the payment done with next week. If u can do the payment go ahead, if not the house has advised to stick with CDHC instructions.

rexxy09: PLEASE I NEED SOME ADVISE. I GOT MEDICAL CALL UP YESTERDAY 30TH JULY VIA EMAIL FROM CIC. BUT MY STATUS AT VAC STILL HAVE NOT CHANGED. IT STATES "Visa application, tracking ID No.*******CALASTU***** is being processed at the Canada Visa Office, Lagos. To know more, please call VAC helpline number or visit VAC website"

SECONDLY, WHO SHOULD ADVISE IF AM TO PAY TUITION FEE AND AT WHAT STAGE OF PROCESSING? I HAVE PAID 50% OF MY FEES BEFORE MY APPLICATION.

WHO SHOULD ADVISE TO SUBMIT MORE DOCS AND AT WHAT STAGE TOO?

I BEG MAKE UNA NO VEX, I BE 100% JJC TO THIS. PLEASE ADVISE.
GOD BLESS US ALL.

Thanks sir, although u skillfully dodged my probe...lol
Onye oma:

I believe you'll be fine...what I'll add is that you shud put all the necessary arrangements for the payment of ur tuition fees in place (such as school acct details and other tins) so that if the need arises (if ur instructed @ any point in time by CDHC to pay),you'll pay immediately without any delay...

God'll surely see you thru...
Travel / Re: Travelling To Canada Part 4 by Nuendo: 2:43pm On Jul 30, 2013
Onye oma:
PLS ALL, UNA DEY SEE AM...PLS PAY UR TUITION FEE WHILE DOING UR MEDICALS TO AVOID ANY STORY OOO...WHO KNOWS, MY DREAM FIT COME TRUE OOO...

GboyegaD: Are you now a CDHC official? Let people do according to what they are instructed to and stop creating unnecessary panic in people.

Onye oma:

Ok sir...noted as well...felt I was helping someone...I won't talk about it again...my point has been made known...its left for whoever to wishes to act accordingly or otherwise.

I believe that paying one's tuition fees when applying/going for medicals is never against CDHC rules and regulations and can never lead to disqualification unless the person doesn't meet up in other areas...

I feel there is no harm in sharing information. MR ONYE_OMA is just informing us based on what he heard/dreamt.. Where i feel he is still leaving a loop hole is the mention of the source of info. Despite his claim that it was inspired by a "dream" i still feel it quite deeper than that. I recall him stating it was from a reliable source initially before changing to the dream issue. while he may be saying the truth, i felt he should have been more serious about his source. Many pl have made references to verified souces of information , agents and immigration lawyers etc without mentioning names or any info that could be directly attributed to a particular person. Please Onye Oma, if your source is very legit, why not let us know, at least individuals would know your are not speculating and giving advice off a dream. You dont need to mention the specific name plus i believe we are all adults here.......we are here to help each other.

meanwhile, I have done my medicals (25th July) and resubmitted my docs on the 27th July. I decided to stick to CDHC's instructions and NOT pay the tuition. I hope this would eventually work out in my own interest. Amen.

Good Luck to the other awaitees.
Travel / Re: Travelling To Canada Part 4 by Nuendo: 8:02am On Jul 29, 2013
Well, your expectations would be very difficult to achieve. Scholarships are given particularly to individuals who have shown strong academic credentials in their previous education and this is most accurately reflected in the cgpa of such an individual. The university system isn't a charity organization and they only give you the scholarship with the hope of you continuing such academic excellence within their institution which eventually becomes their gain when your research or further studies add to the faculty of knowledge in the specific field. Other scholarships and grants may be given by specific NGO's or Alumni Bodies and 90% of them are still based on merit.

SUMMARY: It would be very difficult for you to get both a masters program and a scholarship in the same package with a 2.2

POSSIBLE SOLUTIONS:

1. Find a school that accepts 2.2 directly for the masters and PAY THE TUITION but make sure it isn't a "lessin" as oga Siga would refer it. You don't wanna spend all the time and money to end up having a degree that would turn to a disadvantage later.

2. Seek admission into a PGD program instead and utilize the second missionary journey to make excellent grades that prove you as worthy of a scholarship in the masters .

NB: This is of course if your intent of the scholarship is academically genuine and that the scholarship / masters aren't just an economical means of "cutting out" of naija.

FROM WHAT I KNOW, THE REST OF THE WORLD ISN'T NAIJA, MERIT COUNTS. IF YOU WANT IT , YOU MUST PROVE YOURSELF.

#My 2-Cents.

God Bless.

Uzor Steve:

I checked out one University of Victoria and anoda Carlton University, they were saying stuffs about the applicant having a standard 2.1 from his first Uni.
Am basically looking for a school that accepts a 2.2 and that could prolly offer grant/scholarships.
Kindly assist
