On a side note, Danilo approached the case you presented better. You do not treat symptoms but you must manage a patient in line with the root cause of the symptoms. Different conditions could present with similar symptoms but require different management approach hence, we have what they call a diffrential diagnosis in clinical practice. These arguements arent necessary though . A med doctor may need to seek a pharmacist opinion in situations where he's doubtful about the application of a drug for a pt's condition and i guess that's where a clinical pharmacists comes in and i think they would have the necessary training to deliver as regards that role and i see no big deal for a med Dr to do that.
